This was a great stay! Being a castle and older building, we weren’t sure how modern the facilities would be but we were pleasantly surprised to find a room which blended the charm and heritage of the castle, with everything you need today. Pianos throughout were a great touch too!

The hotel and grounds are gorgeous and very well maintained. Our room was large and very well-appointed. Enjoyed the champagne welcome and the top notch dining experience.

Ronan and the crew at the Abbeyglen couldnt have been more fun, attentive, and welcoming. I felt more welcome there than i do in family member's homes. The grounds were beautiful and the 6:30 champagne toast with the story of Clifden was worth the trip alone. Anytime I am in Ireland, I will definitely be making a stop here. You absolutely have to try the Homemade Berry Meringue Roulade.

Ronan and the crew at the Abbeyglen couldnt have been more fun, attentive, and welcoming. I felt more welcome there than i do in family member's homes. The hotel was a bit hard to get to with luggage and no taxi service but once we arrived there were no complaints. The staff was friendly and check in was very quick. The room was great, the food superb and the complimentary champagne and history lesson was very interesting and much appreciated.

We had an amazing time visiting the Abbeyglen Castle! Everyone there was very helpful and went above and beyond to help make our stay even better. The story time in bar and live music were a lot of fun and the dinner was delicious. Couldn’t recommend this place more, would definitely come back!

Terrific property with very hospitable host. Huge lovely room. Short on amenities - no bath soap/body wash, tissues, robes, slippers. Unfortunately, noisy guests partying until after 1am. Early start meant no breakfast available

We loved our one night stay! Wish we could have stayed longer, but the airport was calling us! The whole experience was amazing… From the super sweet welcome at the front desk, to the complimentary champagne welcome party, and breakfast in the morning. The view from our room was magical and the sounds of water and birds was so relaxing. If we ever come back to this part of Ireland we will most definitely revisit this location! Well done!! Also noticed it was child friendly, and what kid doesn’t want to run around a castle?!

What a fabulous experience! Beautiful castle with a wonderful sunrise view. Service was fantastic and Brian went out of his way to make us feel welcomed and comfortable. Highly recommend and will definitely visit again.

We found staying at the castle very exciting. We were treated very well by staff. We stayed on a Friday night and our room was above the outdoor smoking area so we could hear peoples voices right up to 2 am. The breakfast the next morning was ok. Eggs Benedict had over cooked eggs and a drizzle of hollandaise sauce. My husband enjoyed his kipper. Be ready to fill up with cereal and fruit.

Every part of our stay was magical. We arrived late but a beautiful note with the key was left at the front desk!! Had a wonderful time at the pub and Brian greeted us the next morning at breakfast with 'where were you guys we missed you'!! Would recommend everyone to stay here when visiting the area.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Abbeyglen Castle Hotel. We were warmly greeted at reception by the owner, who provided us with champagne in the evening along with fascinating insights into the castle's history. Our dinner experience was delightful, complemented by engaging entertainment, and the breakfast was truly exceptional. We also appreciated the atmosphere of the piano bar following dinner. What a fabulous experience! Beautiful castle with a wonderful sunrise view. Service was fantastic and Brian went out of his way to make us feel welcomed and comfortable. Highly recommend and will definitely visit again.

The hotel was a bit hard to get to with luggage and no taxi service but once we arrived there were no complaints. The staff was friendly and check in was very quick. The room was great, the food superb and the complimentary champagne and history lesson was very interesting and much appreciated.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Abbeyglen Castle Hotel. We were warmly greeted at reception by the owner, who provided us with champagne in the evening along with fascinating insights into the castle's history. Our dinner experience was delightful, complemented by engaging entertainment, and the breakfast was truly exceptional. We also appreciated the atmosphere of the piano bar following dinner. Our accommodations were outstanding and beautifully suited to the castle's character.

Ronan and the crew at the Abbeyglen couldnt have been more fun, attentive, and welcoming. I felt more welcome there than i do in family member's homes. The grounds were beautiful and the 6:30 champagne toast with the story of Clifden was worth the trip alone. Anytime I am in Ireland, I will definitely be making a stop here. You absolutely have to try the Homemade Berry Meringue Roulade.

We found staying at the castle very exciting. We were treated very well by staff. We stayed on a Friday night and our room was above the outdoor smoking area so we could hear peoples voices right up to 2 am. The breakfast the next morning was ok. Eggs Benedict had over cooked eggs and a drizzle of hollandaise sauce. My husband enjoyed his kipper. Be ready to fill up with cereal and fruit.

We had an amazing time visiting the Abbeyglen Castle! Everyone there was very helpful and went above and beyond to help make our stay even better. The story time in bar and live music were a lot of fun and the dinner was delicious. Couldn’t recommend this place more, would definitely come back!

A beautiful site and cozy look. The rooms aren’t very special for the cost. The room was HOT. 23-24 all night long. I asked if the temperature could be fixed/ cooler. All heat is off was the reply, I requested another room fan late day 1 of our stay and again early Day 2. Upon departure when leaving, I said to reception that something needed to be done to fix the extreme heat and the manager came, apologized profusely, even carried my bag out… but communication from reception to the boss made for a miserable stay. 24 degrees all night is poor for your health.

Clifden, Abbeyglen castle and this part of the west coast of Ireland are absolutely stunning. Don’t miss the Prosecco Welcome and the hotel owners talk on the history of the local area and Abbeyglen Castle itself. It was absolutely fascinating, occasionally humorous and brought everything to life. The owner remembered our names from the moment we were introduced. Very rare! I’ve travelled globally for business 2 out of 4 weeks for the past 15 years. I’ve stayed in some fantastic hotels around the world. Our stay at Abbeyglen castle was the most personal and best customer experience I’ve had anywhere.

The hotel was incredibly charming! The rooms are comfortable and clean and the staff were beyond friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. My partner and I both said we’ll return for a longer stay next time!
