Loved the option to play padel and the leisure centre was nice. Enforcement of the bathing cap rule was not equal for both genders which was annoying (apparently it is optional for men). Breakfast was excellent and the young woman at the front desk was super helpful. It’s a beautiful hotel. We would return.

The Ballymacscanlon Hotel is one of the best hotel I’ve stayed in , in recent years . The decor was tastefully chosen and the hotel was spotless .The staff were extremely helpful accommodating an early check -in as we were attending a wedding in another venue locally .We also got a lovely complimentary upgrade to a suite which was superb . The breakfast was - lovely mix of self-service and orders from the kitchen . The gardens around the hotel are wonderfully maintained displaying lots of colour even in October . We really enjoyed our stay and are looking forward to a return visit .

Beautiful hotel. Beautiful grounds. Breakfast was good, lovely quality bacon, but I hate that cheap cardboard hotel bread. Why would a lovely hotel like this one not invest a bit more in nice bread for breakfast toast. However, they are not alone in this crime. But everything else was 100% 🙂

Warm welcome. Room and bathroom spotless. Food beautiful. Sunday roast amazing. Breakfast fantastic choices. Relaxed atmosphere. Beautiful well kept grounds. Staff warm and friendly. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Looking forward to hopefully another visit next year. Definitely recommend when planning a visit to Dundalk or Co-Louth. Good position/road link, easy to travel, halfway between Dublin and Belfast. Thank you for a lovely stay.
