We love the Galway Bay Hotel, beautiful inside, very nice restaurants , beautiful sunroom looking out at the ocean. The Promenade is just out the front door. We took a wonderful sunrise stroll and enjoyed the view. A short walk of about 25 minutes to Quay st.

Comfy clean room. Choice of 3 places to eat in the hotel and food is really good. 5* breakfast! Wow Used the gym, it was a bit too warm in there but that’s the only fault I could find!

Such a lovely property with great amenities - pool, sauna, Galway Bay views, walkabke to town and beach, and the best hotel breakfast I've ever had (which also happens to be complimentary) in their lovely dining room. Comfortable and spotless all around.

Excellent place to stay. We were welcomed in our room to a bottle of wine and chocolates. Nice touch. Car parking a bit tight as there was a wedding on. Not much space for modern cars

Good location. Salt hill is a nice area and can walk into Galway if you’re fit (about 40 mins.) Wonderful breakfast! Held me all day. Nice lounge area overlooking the water. Would have appreciated later hours at the gym only complaint.

Loved our stay here! Rooms are great and you are on the water! We enjoyed the room, views of the bay from the room, and being just across the street from the promenade. Our kids jumped off the dive board which was a highlight of their trip to Galway! We loved the hotel, enjoyed drinks in the sunroom looking at the bay, and the Irish breakfast is fantastic. We took the bus into town and back which was cheap and easy - we were happy we chose to stay in Salthill rather than near the bars/shops. The hotel pool and bar are great too - we wish we had more time here!

Very comfortable and quiet. Beautiful view from the veranda. Easy to walk into town. A nice variety of food offerings and helpful front desk staff. They do a lot of weddings which makes the vibe a bit odd at times with guests seemingly being put off by beachgoers while they're in their wedding outfits and it closes the veranda to guests for weddings. It is a large part of their business but an alternative location for guests to enjoy during weddings would be a nice addition.

The room was clean and we had beautiful harbour views. We had dinner in one of the restaurants and everything was very good. The carpet in the room had a bit of a roll in it likely from being a bit aged. The shower seemed to splatter water out of the tub and onto the toilet but otherwise the room was very nice. We left early the following morning and they had takeaway breakfast for us which included water, fruit, a sandwich and muffin. All staff were great to deal with and overall a good experience.

Hotel very large. Parking easy. Waterfront location. Very clean. A lot of walking available to town, as well as along the beach. Restaurant food was good. Breakfast food was excellent. Staff was very friendly. Room was comfortable and bathroom was large.

We encountered several issues with our bathroom during our stay. The shower was extremely difficult to turn on and off, often resulting in it dripping continuously after use. There was severe mold in the grout of the tub, and the shower curtain was made of thin, low-quality material that clung to the skin when the water was running, requiring us to hold it down while showering. Additionally, the towel shelf was loosely attached to the wall near the shower entrance, causing towels to frequently fall into the water. We reported these issues to the management team, who attempted to resolve them, but unfortunately, our second night was even worse than the first. Instead of replacing the shower curtain, they simply added another, which did not fix the issue. The curtain rod was rehung too high, causing water to soak the entire bathroom. Additionally, maintenance accidentally cracked the ceramic in the tub, leaving noticeable damaged spots. I spoke to management again, and they assured us the issues would be resolved and that we would receive a credit for the inconvenience. However, we have yet to see any follow-up or compensation.

Beautiful hotel. The public areas were spacious with a feel of luxury, very relaxing. The room felt a little disappointing after lobby etc. The beds were very comfortable, and the quiet fan provided was very welcome. However the room needs a spruce up, the bed base needs a cover as it is very old fashioned. The water pressure was poor, and silicone around the bath was discoloured in places. We were a room of three, only 2 sets of towels, glasses, mugs, both days. On the first day when requesting more towels etc, response was no apology, and lethargic. The second day we just took the towels off the trolley in hall. Tea tray was poor incl. no biscuits. Room refresh didn’t happen, I stay away a lot for business and this is not the normal unless asked, so had to hunt down more teabags etc. To conclude lovely location, facilities, but disappointing with room and housekeeping.

Nice location across the road from the beach and nice room. However in summer we found the room to be very hot overnight which significantly impacted our sleep and although there was a small fan it didn't help much as just circulated hot air. Some proper aircon would be expected for a 4 star hotel. We also found the pillows to be a bit uncomfortable as they were too flat and also some long black hairs not belonging to us in the bathroom. The shower curtain over the bath was also the kind you couldn't stop from wrapping around you while showering and fell off too (hopefully this is changed or cleaned in between guests). Overall a nice room in a nice location with a good selection of bar/restaurant food. But just a few small touches that could be improved on at this price point as it is 4 star.

We expected the heating to be set on automatic but this wasnt the case. When we switched it on the room heated up nicely. Also, there was only one hand towel and one face cloth provided to share with 2 people

Lovely staff and good location. No fridge in room.Furniture and rooms are a little bit outdated comparing to other hotels in same area for the price what usually is on weekends and bank holidays especially summer time.Nice lounges throughout hotel,specius teras with Atlantic ocean view. Lovely small pool area. Little disappointed with burned tostee on breakfast, toaster was left on full power, and nobody mind fix it even all restorant smelled of burning. we lower heet power ourselves.

Was a nice hotel. Happy about the price and cleanliness. Location was good but a little far if you want to be in the center of the city. No AC which I was taken back by just a fan in each room. Staff was very kind.

The room we were first given had a particularly foul smell. We brought that to the attention of the registration desk. In about 10 minutes, we were booked into another room, complete with complimentary wine and pastries. And a fantastic ocean view. They done goood with their “make good”. Our only complaint was the surrounding neighborhood. The property borders a Leisure Land amusement park. Very noisy. Very congested.

I checked on line but unfortunately I had to wait about 15mins approx as a group were ahead. The receptionist was very apologetic She was very pleasant however I think she could have done with help as there was another waiting behind me. I had no fault after that. I will come back again.

We paid for beach view and was partial view at best. Hotel is aging and its showing. The shower head is awful. The tub was replaced with retrofit making it extra tall and narrow. Location is near beach but much further from downtown shopping, dining, pubs. Staff wasnt friendly and upon hiking back we took the grand entry steps only to be not let in by staff. They simply looked at us and point to go around building. Why have a grand staircase entrance facing the beach? Upon check in and entrance we did receive a VERY nice treat of chocolate strawberries and chocolates with a "welcome" scribbled on the plate in chocolate sauce. Was a nice touch. Upon leaving we asked for a couple more waters they provide in rooms. Not possible is what we were told. Overall, I'd suggest looking elsewhere to stay in Galway.

Check in took a long time Restaurant service was very slow and seemed under staffed We dropped our bags off early and it took over an hour for the porter to bring them up Staff was nice and polite, but seemed inexperienced and overwhelmed

The best thing about Galway Bay Hotel is the staff. Absolutely the best hotel staff we had on our trip around Ireland - friendly, professional, and genuine. Although they are right beside an amusement park, the windows are excellent and almost no noise came in. Very comfortable and very walkable into Galway.

We love the Galway Bay Hotel, beautiful inside, very nice restaurants , beautiful sunroom looking out at the ocean. The Promenade is just out the front door. We took a wonderful sunrise stroll and enjoyed the view. A short walk of about 25 minutes to Quay st.

Hotel very large. Parking easy. Waterfront location. Very clean. A lot of walking available to town, as well as along the beach. Restaurant food was good. Breakfast food was excellent. Staff was very friendly. Room was comfortable and bathroom was large.

Our room looked out at the sea and was beautifully appointed. The staff were very helpful and kind. We arrived late and they made sure check in went quickly so we could grab a bite before the kitchen closed. Really beautiful spot. We walked into city centre. It was a good walk, so note location is not central in that way but perfect for peaceful ocean views and walks.

The main level, reception, lobby, & restaurants & bar were very pretty. Furnishings a bit dated. Nice location across from Galway Bay & Salthill Promenade. 45 minute walk from Eyre Square & Galway City Center so a bit isolated

Enjoyed our stay, the room was large and comfortable. Great position, could catch a bus in to town and back. Promenade across the road was fabulous.Wish we had of had more time. Appreciated the free parking. Enjoyed our meal in the bar.

Great view of Galway Bay from our room! Not walkable to the Latin Quarter but close enough for a short uber. Great restaurant and pub on premises and great walkable beachfront and garden areas with a block!

The room was clean and modern. The beds were very comfortable. Two bottles of water were provided each day. The gym facilities were quite minimalistic but sufficient. Breakfast was lovely and boasted quite a few options: continental buffet-style and a la carte. Staff were forthcoming and very friendly and knowledgeable.

The room was clean and we had beautiful harbour views. We had dinner in one of the restaurants and everything was very good. The carpet in the room had a bit of a roll in it likely from being a bit aged. The shower seemed to splatter water out of the tub and onto the toilet but otherwise the room was very nice. We left early the following morning and they had takeaway breakfast for us which included water, fruit, a sandwich and muffin. All staff were great to deal with and overall a good experience.

Nice location - that’s it. The breakfast was absolutely terrible. The server was mixing utensils so absolutely nothing was vegetarian. So gross. Also they clear your plates before you finish but won’t bring you a glass of water. Very odd setup and quite expensive at $280/night.

Lovely hotel with great facilities and amenities, however scoring it 4/5 for our evening meal in Pier 56. We ordered the haddock in tempura batter …the description sounded appealing, we were on waterfront so expected fresh fish, but it was block cut from the freezer, batter thick and greasy when it should’ve been light and crispy, so this was a bit disappointing. Staff were great, especially in the breakfast room. The lads all turned out smartly with shirt, tie, apron, and matching haircuts ….and the girls, with their hair tied back. All helpful and friendly. Took bus up to Galway, Eyre Square and walked down through Latin Quarter and had a great time. Terrific atmosphere here. Would stay here again

Our first visit and we would thoroughly recommend the Galway Bay hotel. It exceeded our expectations. The staff were friendly and professional and the atmosphere was welcoming. The room was clean and spacious. The breakfast and meals in the restaurant were delicious and for myself the fact they had a vegan/vegetarian menu was wonderful. They have various complimentary activities which include wine tasting and paint and prosseco which is a lovely touch. The location is right across from the promenade where you can sit looking out to sea or go for a stroll. Can't wait to go back.

No AC in this hotel, not a friendly staff, you have to make reservations for amenities and restaurant visits, so that's annoying if your plans change or time have to work your scheduled amenities time. Breakfast was OKAY, I feel like they have down graded a bit, but raised rates. The buffet breakfast was a bit sad. Not what it use to be.
