Great place to stay if you want to visit the Waterford Crystal Factory. It is an easy walk which takes about 10 minutes. The hotel has been expanded and upgraded from when we stayed there in 2012. The parking area across the street is privately owned now, but you do get a big discount for staying at Dooleys. The staff is friendly and professional.

Great easy location. Parking easy to find other side of the road, 11€/24 hrs. Check in quick and easy, nice lobby. Lovely lobby. Room nice and spacious with tea tray. Very quiet. Food in the restaurant was very good and service excellent! Highly recommend, really made our stay. Nice atmosphere as well. Only negative was arrival there was smoking just in front of the entrance which was a bit gross walking past.

We really enjoyed our stay at Dooley's Hotel. The food was delicious, both for breakfast and in the bar. We enjoyed the live music at night, and it was a comfortable stay. The only issue was you can hear what everyone is doing above you. Luckily we had ear plugs to drown it out, but sometimes it sounded like folks playing rugby at 3am! Other than that, the room was comfortable and the staff was amazingly helpful!

First off - the hotel doesn’t have its own parking, but I believe the description on Expedia claims it has parking. Second - the room I was given was the most uncomfortable night in Ireland for me. It was a back corner room above a loud bar where loud stereo music played till past midnight. Room was humid and stuffy so I had to leave a window open. Mind you, this was the most expensive of my hotels in Ireland. To make matters worse, I was greeted by a yellow rag sitting in the trash bin as soon as I entered the room, and the hand towel in the bathroom had hair on it. Needless to say, I never got to relax here. The staff seems clueless.

There was also rubbish behind the tv unit, so that obviously hadnt been cleaned very well. We also got woken multiple times in the night because of drunk people outside and then delivery lorries at 4am. Overall our stay was good but I dont think we would stay in the hotel again.

I really wanted to like this property! It’s in a beautiful location and has great views! The dining option in the hotel are also great! However the shower caulking and grout had something black/blown on it. Only a handful of the staff were friendly and welcoming. I could hear a lot of external noise from my room.

We stayed here 3 nights with our 3 month old. From the moment we arrived the staff were very cheerful and accommodating. We don't usually go for breakfast when away but as it was included we thought why not?! Breakfast was tasty, good variety of options especially as I'm a vegetarian. The staff set us up a table away from everyone with our baby where there was plenty of space for the pushchair, definite bonus. The family room was spacious, the beds comfy and the water in the shower hot. I've seen a few reviews who said it was cold - if that was the case I'd say they have resolved that, we had to turn our radiator down. It was great that we could alter the temperature and even open a window. The only let down was that they did not have fridges available for the rooms and my daughter's milk. However they did provide ice buckets and allow us to store things in their fridge downstairs. We ate dinner and lunch in the bar, the food was tasty and generous in size. Our only suggestion would be to stock 0.0 Guinness. Overall a great stay - particularly for a 3*. We would definitely stay again.

The hotel was a good size, with restaurant, bar, live music. The room was also a good size with a single bed besides the double bed. Overlooking the Quay at Waterford. The hotel did feel tired which was not helped by not having any water for the room, I had to nip to the local store. No safe in the room is unusual. We enjoyed our stay but probably would not return. This was not really a hotel for us. If it was brought back to 2025 then who knows.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the hotel was clean and warm. The cleaning staff did an excellent job every time. We used a cot bed that unfortunately was not set up properly and fell down a few times that we had to rectify ourselves. Restaurant and food was to an excellent quality, if a little pricey but the bar was surprisingly clean and bright. We enjoyed the breakfast every day and had a variety of foods for everyone, including a vegan cooked breakfast. Unfortunately, when other guests did disturb us we felt that the staff didn't do enough and this had to be escalated to management, but the following day they did respond very quickly. Unfortunately for anyone who stayed that one night may not have seen the rectification of the matter. Overall it was an enjoyable stay.

very good hotel , staff friendly but just one in the restaurant during breakfast when locating the breakfast table acted discriminatory and not friendly at all , but all others very friendly and the Indian girl very friendly.

Unhelpful staff at check in. They acted like they were doing me a favour by checking us in. We needed to park our car in the area the website implied they provided. Very expensive parking and needed to set up an online account with personal information they should not have needed.

Property well located. 2nd time staying at Dooleys. First room wasn’t great..shower tray overflowed and room was quite small compared to 1st stay. They changed our room and got a great room. No complaints after this about the room. Service and politeness of staff very good. Property well located. 2nd time staying at Dooleys. First room wasn’t great..shower tray overflowed and room was quite small compared to 1st stay. They changed our room and got a great room. No complaints after this about the room. Service and politeness of staff very good. We loved this property! Warm and helpful staff. The restaurant food was fantastic. Waterford was our favorite spot in Ireland; so much to see , all within walking distance. Bonus, the bus stops in front of the hotel!

We stayed here 3 nights with our 3 month old. From the moment we arrived the staff were very cheerful and accommodating. We don't usually go for breakfast when away but as it was included we thought why not?! Breakfast was tasty, good variety of options especially as I'm a vegetarian. The staff set us up a table away from everyone with our baby where there was plenty of space for the pushchair, definite bonus. The family room was spacious, the beds comfy and the water in the shower hot. I've seen a few reviews who said it was cold - if that was the case I'd say they have resolved that, we had to turn our radiator down. It was great that we could alter the temperature and even open a window. The only let down was that they did not have fridges available for the rooms and my daughter's milk. However they did provide ice buckets and allow us to store things in their fridge downstairs. We ate dinner and lunch in the bar, the food was tasty and generous in size. Our only suggestion would be to stock 0.0 Guinness. Overall a great stay - particularly for a 3*. We would definitely stay again.

The hotel was beautiful. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The breakfast was wonderful. We were served our food. We ate dinner in the bar restaurant. It was delicious and more than we could eat. Fabulous location as well.

The hotel is pretty basic. The staff were really nice. We had to park our car across the street and drag our luggage over a busy road. There is not much can be done about this as the hotel is situated in the city center. You do have to pay for the car parking. The restaurant in the hotel was not the best the food was not great I couldn’t eat mine but the staff were really nice. The hotel is pretty dated but we only stayed one night. It’s alright to stop over one night but if we were to stay longer I would not select this hotel. Thanks

We really enjoyed our stay at Dooley's Hotel. The food was delicious, both for breakfast and in the bar. We enjoyed the live music at night, and it was a comfortable stay. The only issue was you can hear what everyone is doing above you. Luckily we had ear plugs to drown it out, but sometimes it sounded like folks playing rugby at 3am! Other than that, the room was comfortable and the staff was amazingly helpful!

Good breakfast room with a self-help breakfast bar such as cereal, bread, fruit, etc. combined with a set menu of items. They do let you order custom plates from their menu such as scrambled eggs and pancakes which isn't on the menu, but eggs are and so are pancakes. Lunch and dinner is also available in their restaurant, and they have a decent bar and small outdoor patio. A snack vending machine has candy and drinks, though bottled water was only available from the bar. Food was good, and service was very good at all meals and the bar. The hotel is a combination of old and upgraded, remodeled rooms, and some rooms, ours for example, were most directly accessed by going up a maze of stairs. They do have a lift, but you may still need to navigate some stairs depending on where your room is located. Our room had no view to speak of (roof top between buildings with a large air vent outside our window), so if a view is important you'll need to be specific. No air conditioning, which wouldn't normally be needed but it was hot when we were there. A provided fan was a big help. Instant coffee and tea are provided and TV had a decent set of stations though we didn't watch it much. Good location in town. Train and bus stations are moving a bit further away in the near future, but they will still be in walking distance. Not a bad choice for a stay.
