The hotel is probably best suited to adults. For one, the leisure center is in a separate building to the hotel and isn't all that family friendly. We went for a swim on the evening of our arrival only to be told children weren't allowed in after 18.45. Children did not have access until 09.00 the next morning which didn't suit us as we were heading to a local attraction quite early.

everything was perfect for our 1 night stay. Our room was 225, fantastic size the bed was excellent. Breakfast in the morning was superb. Definitely recommend The Killashee. I also used the leisure facilities which are great.

This hotel is beautiful on the inside as well as the property with lovely garden area. Also ample free parking. Our room was large and comfortable with tub and separate shower and large comfortable chairs. We had snacks in the bistro but missed the tea. If you go book it in advance it looked wonderful. The girl working at the cafe was helpful and sweet. The breakfast was plentiful with hot options . The hotel is easy to find and about an hour to the airport

Beautiful building and grounds - very comfortable stay. Lovely breakfast and swimming pool, although quite overcrowded in the morning due to an aqua-aerobics class. Really enjoyed walking in the gardens - very positive for biodiversity.

We stayed in a suite overlooking the gardens. The room was stunning and very tastefully decorated. We had a separate sitting room. Bed was extremely comfortable. The staff were helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed the spa and hydrotherapy pool.

The main building and lobby are beautiful, but the pictures online only show part of the story. The hotel is more of a collection of buildings, and from the outside, not nearly as nice as the main building. Our room was in one of the auxiliary buildings and the room itself was fine but warm. Very oddly, there’s no air conditioning at this hotel. The staff accommodated us with fans, which helped, but no AC in what advertises as an “luxury” hotel is crazy. Additionally, the pool and workout facility “on site” are not exclusive to hotel guests. Rather, they are community resources open to hotel guests. Those are two very different things.

This is a nice enough hotel, but not sure we would rush back. I appreciate that it’s very much a family hotel (we were there with our 12 year old) and so things are going to get mucky and dirty quicker, but our room’s mirrors were covered in toddler height sticky fingerprints, there were stains in the bathroom and in the main rooms cream carpet and the room was generally a bit tired and in need of a spruce up. The room was absolutely boiling hot, even with the window open and a tiny fan had been placed on a table, which did nothing but circulate the warm air. The corridor outside stank of urine and general fustiness. The staff were generally friendly and attentive. The pool and spa area is open to the public and is actually quite a way from the main hotel. My husband used the gym area but we ended up not going to use the pool in the end as he said it was mega busy when he was there. Dinner in the hotel restaurant on the first night was nice enough, but really very expensive and breakfast was ok, all a bit stale and luke warm. We brought pizza in from a little trailer in Naas the second night (Plur Pizza) All in all a pretty average stay, looking forward to a decent nights sleep in our own beds tonight!

Beautiful and elegant building and grounds. Well appointed and spacious rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. The only negative was the cleanliness of the room. The sheets and carpet appeared to need more cleaning. Leftover box and earrings found on the floor.

Parts of the property could have been cleaner (public bathrooms were disgusting in the morning). The bathroom (very large with two sinks) in our room had cracked tiles and common areashad broke windows. The bed was very uncomfortable and the mattress very much needed to be replaced. We just expected more for the cost. The furniture is lovely, particularly in the main areas. The breakfast was good and we enjoyed the Larkspur Lounge.

Amazing hotel, so nicely decorated and lovely relaxing vibe! Room was spacious and comfortable and clean, few stains on bed sheets. Dyson hairdryer and Nespresso machine in room which was a lovely perk. Elemis products in bathroom. Amazing breakfast and had lovely dinner and drinks in oak and anvil restaurant/bar. Lovely garden and walks on the grounds. And lovely patios outside. About 20 min drive from Kildare village

I went to stay with my young daughter. There was a wedding there and our room was just next to the wedding venue. Due to the hot weather, we had to have the window open. It was so loud, my daughter could not sleep till after the music stopped. It was a very long night. When booking I had selected a room for an adult & child. That should have been taken into consideration when placing into a room. We should have be placed into the far side of the hotel, well away from the wedding venue & noise.

This hotel is incredible! The building itself is unbelievably beautiful. The staff is so friendly. Room are well appointed and spacious. The grounds are so beautiful you want to get lost in them. We stay a full day just at the hotel because there was so much to do.

Public areas very good. Rooms ok,but bathrooms need refurbished.Cracked tiles and old taps,delphware very dated.Not what I expected from 4 star hotel. Annoyed was charged total before arrival and then made payment again when checking in as hotel refused to accept they had taken money from my card.After meeting with manager 2 days later money was returned to my card with no explanation or apology.Disgusted by the attitude of management constantly blaming third parties for their failures.Also no explanation or apology for their hotel trying to take more payments from my card which fortunately were blocked by my card issuer.Terrible experience which cost a lot of money.Will not recommend this property to anyone.

Place looked lovely driving up the driveway. Checkin was quick but nefer told us anything about the hotel. Gave us room keys then directions to lift. No information about anything else like bars, restaurant, spa or liesure facilities which i would expect from a hotel. Didnt even mention beeakfast

Beautiful peaceful old style hotel with a modern twist. Staff are efficient and extremely helpful. Have to mention receptionist Kate. What a beautiful young woman. she was pleasant, kind, nothing was too much fir her. She will make an excellent manager one day. All the staff were lovely. Also duty Manager Cormac who sorted out a few little issues we had without fuss. This was my second time staying at Killashee and return again

Lovely location and comfortable. Need more signs in car park for leisure centre. Evening dinner understaffed with service slow and inattentive. Not asked for coffee or tea option at breakfast and had to ask after 25 mins. Other than service staff were pleasant and would still recommend to visit as other than the above irritation all was very good.

The hotel has beautiful gardens. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We had an early flight and they arranged a continental breakfast for us at 5:00AM.

Food was great with plenty of options. Lounge bar was great and kids very welcome. Restaurant food was great, service a little slow. Shower head needed replaced. Room not ready until 1645 which was disappointing as 4 is already a late check in. Will defo be back.

This hotel is beautiful on the inside as well as the property with lovely garden area. Also ample free parking. Our room was large and comfortable with tub and separate shower and large comfortable chairs. We had snacks in the bistro but missed the tea. If you go book it in advance it looked wonderful. The girl working at the cafe was helpful and sweet. The breakfast was plentiful with hot options . The hotel is easy to find and about an hour to the airport

Located outside the city in quiete area. Restaurants ok and the same with the rooms. But they did have some problems with the electricity . just during our stay ( 2 night ) with power went 3 times and one them 1½ hours

Great place to stay! Very friendly place. Elevators to rooms takes a minute to figure out and the pool is in a separate building. Those items are not hard to figure out, but should be noted. Food was excellent. Recommend the aged steak and chicken wrap in the Oak and Anvil. Solid old fashioned too. Will come again if we travel back to Ireland.

Food here wasn’t good! I ordered Fish and Chips for dinner. When it arrived I could smell that something wasn’t right. After taking a small bite of fish, there was an overwhelming metallic taste. It was sent back but the subsequent burger ordered was less than average. The young waitress apologised but the restaurant manager didnt even make eye contact. Breakfast was being served from a secondary station and I’m afraid it was cold. I stay in hotels two nights a week and was looking forward to staying here. I will not be returning. I have given a score of two due to the room being clean.

This is a nice enough hotel, but not sure we would rush back. I appreciate that it’s very much a family hotel (we were there with our 12 year old) and so things are going to get mucky and dirty quicker, but our room’s mirrors were covered in toddler height sticky fingerprints, there were stains in the bathroom and in the main rooms cream carpet and the room was generally a bit tired and in need of a spruce up. The room was absolutely boiling hot, even with the window open and a tiny fan had been placed on a table, which did nothing but circulate the warm air. The corridor outside stank of urine and general fustiness. The staff were generally friendly and attentive. The pool and spa area is open to the public and is actually quite a way from the main hotel. My husband used the gym area but we ended up not going to use the pool in the end as he said it was mega busy when he was there. Dinner in the hotel restaurant on the first night was nice enough, but really very expensive and breakfast was ok, all a bit stale and luke warm. We brought pizza in from a little trailer in Naas the second night (Plur Pizza) All in all a pretty average stay, looking forward to a decent nights sleep in our own beds tonight!

We had a fantastic stay. The staff and the service were exceptional. Food in the Oak & Anvil bar was delicious, followed by cocktails overlooking the gardens in The Conservatory. The self-service breakfast selection was also excellent. We highly rate and recommend this hotel.

Underwhelming especially considering the price. The swimming pool was a public swimming pool, not a 4 star standard. The bar food was not very nice. At breakfast sausages and bacon were empty. Check in was late. Staff were lovely.

I have a mixed review for this hotel - the hotel is beautiful, the decor is gorgeous. We booked a suite and it was 100% beautiful, the grounds are fantastic! However, the food really let it down, we had Afternoon tea and I asked for vegetarian and they gave me vegan, the scones were like two bricks (over cooked) I had to send them back. Although the dining room was fairly empty, it took 50 minutes to be served. We had drinks at the bar, only one bar lady on, she was quite rude and we could see she was under pressure, but no reason to take out on customers. We had dinner in the bar, both starters were delicious, however, my main was ravioli and it was dripping in butter, butter sauce, it was just oil and rubbery. Breakfast the next morning, same thing, to many staff not enough service. Had to ask twice for my breakfast. I went to get scrambled eggs, when I took a bite they just tasted of fish (I'm vegetarian), I felt sick all day after the mouthful - someone didn't clean the dishes correctly and obviously oudored the eggs. I am really disappointed with the food this weekend, it's a fabulous hotel and the room was stunning but the food really brought it down. The bathroom could of been a bit cleaner in the room also (flies in the shower). It's a bitter sweet review as the appearance of the hotel and the glamour of the room lived up to expectations but sadly the food and dining services did not. I would go back and book the room again but I'd prefer to dine elsewhere.

The setting for Kilashee is in a particularly beautiful area. The drive to the front door is extremely welcoming. Reception staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Room was large, comfortable and overlooked a manicured garden. Water provided each day. Bathroom good - but water would not drain away from the bath! Fluffy towels, but face flannels only left on the first day - not enough. Beds were comfy - room a bit dated with an old-fashioned wardrobe (I know this is an old mansion house but it looked grubby). Drapes were beautiful - very high quality, as were the throws on the bed. The dark doors could do with a really good clean!! Not up to my standard of cleanliness. The one BIG DISADVANTAGE was no air-con. The temperatures while we were there were 28, 29 and 30 degrees. We were sweltered in the room, particularly at night as the fan provided did not provide enough cool air!! It made our sleeping time very unpleasant. Breakfasts were good, with a great variety. Our preference for breakfast was the Pippin Tree - we had to move to the Oak and Anvil restaurant one morning - not as much variety, although it was nice to have our hot choices freshly cooked. Dinner one evening was good - but not spectacular. The staff are all so friendly and helpful. The Larkspur Lounge upstairs is very comfortable and pleasant. We did not avail of the Spa, or leisure facilities. We did not fancy having to go out of the hotel to access them - not satisfactory.

I travel with work a lot and Kilashee is definitely one of my favourite hotels in Ireland. Very luxurious and relaxing. Perfect for a couples stay.

Unfortunately bedroom was sweltering, room temperature 28 degrees. No air conditioning in the room. Used two fans but room remained very hot and made sleeping or resting in the room very difficult. Otherwise we had a lovely stay. Beautiful setting and staff very helpful.

The hotel and grounds on arrival are absolutely stunning, Unfortunately then it went downhill. You have to wear a swim cap to swim in the pool costing €4 ( that really disappointed me seems like such a shameless opportunity to make more money out of guests) I was really excited to use the pool sauna and jacuzzi, but I found it to be dated, felt crusty and there were 2 nice loungers and plastic white chairs, maybe 8 in total. I have no idea why a 4star hotel has plastic white chairs in their pool/sauna/jacuzzi area. My daughter enjoyed the gym and my son commented that he thought the gym looked really good. Our room which was beautiful, was unbearably warm. They left us a fan, in the end we asked for another (which they brought quickly) but after spending the night there we decided it was simply not good enough as it was the worst nights sleep we’ve had in a hotel, let alone a 4star. Ther room had no air conditioning at all, So they moved us to an air conditioned room. The room was lovely, but the awful nights sleep, the poor pool facilities, and shameless charging for swim caps means that we wouldn’t choose to go back. The staff were lovely. Actually great service. Isabella in the oak and anvil served us our meal, the food was quality - really tasty and we enjoyed the meal together.
