We had a really nice stay. Breakfasts and dinners were great. We loved walking on the beach and the beautiful views from our room and the restaurant. Our room was very clean and quiet and parking was easy, what more could we ask for?

Hotel is on a beautiful beach. Hotel decor is victorian not beachy. Room was comfortable and clean. Entrance and exit doors took a bit of getting used to and beach access is down a bit. Would have been nice if the bar served more than just pizza, as the hotel restaurant required a reservation and was pricey. There was a very good food truck on the beach. Breakfast was really good! No air conditioning so you need to close the blinds if it's a sunny day!

Fabulous location right on the beach. We had room 320 with a sea view and would recommend anyone to book the top floor sea view rooms. We didn't eat at the hotel except breakfast which was good. We ate at the bar at the top of the beach called smugglers cove which is top notch. Had a brilliant few days and will be back

We stayed in the Sandhouse many years ago and throughly enjoyed our stay in a luxury 4 star experience. This time it was as if the place had stayed still in time in every sense it is tired it is grubby and has lost its panache. On a positive the breakfast was first class and all the staff were lovely. So whilst I would not say it was a disaster the 4 star pricing was not reflective of the hotel standard.

Amazing service excellent food cleanliness exceptional and I am so fussy Katherine in the restaurant nothing too much trouble but all the girls fab Karla in the spa again it’s all exceptional service professionalism ensuring your spa experience leaves you relaxed and revived exceptional cleanliness again Trust me visit you won’t be disappointed it’s an 11/ 10

The location and the view from the room was fantastic and the main reason for booking. The beach is really close and you can hear the sea. Qualtiy of food was very good and the prices reasonable. Staff at the front desk was helpful and friendly. Sleeping was very comfortable. The hotel is a little bit old and you see it, especially in the outdated bathroom. All this is OK and would get a rating of 4 stars or better. Not OK were too many unclean areas! Sand so close at the sea would be OK, but dust and spider webs, not properly cleaned bathrooms and dirt as well as not cleaned sitting areas outside (balcony) are not acceptable. Anyway we hope to come back, because we love the country.

Hotel was lovely, room as advertised. Only issue was the heating. Room was very cold overnight and thermostat did not seem to be functional. A member of our group became unwell due to the cold conditions which was very disappointing!!

The room is huge with a fantastic view of the ocean. Most pleasing to look at.Staff friendly and receptionist too.Food great just found it too rushed with the servings.Would definitely recommend Hotel to implement room service…..Otherwise great value for money

Staff were fabulous especially the lady thy looked after us in the dining room. She was so good with us and our wee girl. View from the room was spectacular. The only thing that was a negative was a noise in room during the severe wind. It was coming from the bathroom Vent. But I don’t think that’s the hotels fault for how windy it was.

We had the perfect view of the ocean from our room at the Sandhouse Hotel. With the windows open at night listening to the waves was so peaceful and tranquil. The employees were extremely helpful and made us feel very welcome. I would definitely return for another stay.

I booked a double room and for some reason was booked as a single traveller Hotel didn’t change our room and bed was quite small and not the most comfortable After a bit of debate with hotel reception we were not charged any extra but were disappointed with uncomfortable bed Had to show proof of purchase of what I had actually paid for room and was slightly embarrassed We love rossnowlagh and have stayed in this hotel on quite a few occasions .food and overall trip was enjoyable but booking experience leaves a lot to be desired

When checking in you have to use the intercom at the front door. We expected we were too early for check in but did not expect to be told, in an exasperated tone, before we even got through the front door that check in is not until 3pm. No suggestion of how was your journey, did you travel far, your room isn't ready but please come in (out of the rain) and you are welcome to use the bar. A very poor first impression. The remaining staff were very attentive and friendly.

We ate at the bar at the top of the beach called smugglers cove which is top notch. Had a brilliant few days and will be back

We had a really nice stay. Breakfasts and dinners were great. We loved walking on the beach and the beautiful views from our room and the restaurant. Our room was very clean and quiet and parking was easy, what more could we ask for?

Hotel is on a beautiful beach. Hotel decor is victorian not beachy. Room was comfortable and clean. Entrance and exit doors took a bit of getting used to and beach access is down a bit. Would have been nice if the bar served more than just pizza, as the hotel restaurant required a reservation and was pricey. There was a very good food truck on the beach. Breakfast was really good! No air conditioning so you need to close the blinds if it's a sunny day!

Our room had a lovely beach view and was very spacious. It was a little dated but not in any way problematically so. The bathroom was large with a good powerful shower. But the best thing about our break was our food in The Glasshouse Restaurant! On route to Ireland we thought we’d break our long journey with a night’s stop at Friars Carse Hotel near Dumfries. We paid more for our evening meal and wine there and it was dire quality. My wife was unable to finish her soggy pasta drowned in oil. By contrast the food in The Glasshouse Restaurant at The Sandhouse was probably some of the best we both have ever had, you know the dangerous type, so good despite being full you keep eating it! Whilst every bit was brilliant, I think our query to each other “How can carrots taste this amazingly good?” sums up its excellence. The food presentation and service was simply fabulous with friendly and helpful staff. We’re happy to commend 100%!

The rooms were very warm without air conditioning. They cooled off in the evening with the nice ocean breeze. We really enjoyed listening to the ocean while going to sleep.

We couldn't fault this hotel in anyway, it was very clean, the food was lovely, the staff were very helpful and very friendly. The location was just perfect. We love this part of Donegal. Ruth and Ian.

Breakfast was good. Fruit juice.cereal. fry. Toast range of breads.loose tea. Staff very attentive. Evening meal was good.good choice.moved room as mum not able for stairs. Had sea view was stunning.room very good and walk in shower excellent.lovely venue will return to stay again.
