Hôtel Derby Eiffel

J’aurais aimé savoir que l’hôtel est en pleine rénovation. Quand on arrive, ça surprend un peu. Il y a des choses qui traînent, la réception est installée comme ils peuvent. L’ascenseur ne fonctionnait pas. La chambre est toutefois fort confortable. Mais il manquait de finition. Café, thé par exemple. Bonne idée pour les serviettes chaudes avec le chauffage dans la salle de bain. Le coffre-fort n’était pas fixé à rien donc plus ou moins sécuritaire. Super bien situé par contre. Près du métro, des restaurants. À une vingtaine de minutes à pied de la Tour Eiffel et de la Seine.

First I will preface my review is coming from the perspective of an American meaning my comparison comes from a person from a different country. I realize standard European hospitality is going to be different than American hospitality. Our check in was easy and expeditious. Our room was on the 3rd floor. Elevator was available, but as in most European hotels, it is small, only 1 or 2 people can fit, if you have luggage, perhaps 1 person at a time. Getting to our room seemed like a labyrinth of hallways and doors. The room as experienced while in Europe was small. Room was clean. Had a full size bed, which was comfortable, extra pillows and blanket provided. Had open cubicle space for clothes and/or luggage storage. A/C just got cool, does not get cold. No chair for sitting, only a small ottoman under a small desk. Like most European hotels, no refrigerator in your room, they provide a dorm sized cooler box that keeps items cool not cold. There was a coffee pot, TV, and hair dryer supplied, but we didn't use. Bathroom had a sewer odor to it. There is no place in the shower to place a bar of soap or your shampoo, but found this common in Europe. The hotel was within walking distance of the Eiffel Tower, and there was plenty of restaurants and shopping within walking distance as well. Hotel offered breakfast for an additional 14 euros. For the price paid for this room I expected more, but I also realize we we're traveling in high season so everything is more expensive.

The property was very clean. The staff was very friendly. The cleaning people was very good always ready for extra water or toilet paper. breakfast in the morning was great downstairs everybody was always with a smile and very friendly. Special thanks to the young kid who helped out with my bags always ready to help and to answer any of my questions. I have to mention there is no working elevator so if you stay in the upper floors be ready to walk up.

Generally, a nice place to stay. VERY conveniently located and easy to walk to Eiffel Tower, train, restaurants, shops, supermarket, etc. We'd stay here again. On the other hand, there were some minor inconveniences. The elevator was tiny and this meant it was difficult to fit people + luggage in the elevator. And when we tried to squeeze in and fit our family of four, we got a lecture from the front desk attendant. This wouldnt dissuade us from staying here again, but being lectured on taking an elevator with your family is a bit odd.

NOT a 4 Star hotel - This is a 3 star. My room did NOT have a telephone. The elevator lift was always stuck. Hot water was only on early morning - I stayed here years ago when it was a 4 star - I was there again in Feb 2026 only to see them downgraded to 3 stars. I will return to Paris; but have NO interest in ever staying in this Derby Hotel again.

Disappointing. After travelling on trains with no lifts we arrive at the hotel to find the lift is being renovated along with the rest of the hotel. We asked why we weren’t informed as we would have found another hotel. The response was it’s on their site. We booked 6 months ago and nothing mentioned . Not accommodating or friendly. We were on 6th floor dragging all our bags up for one night. The hotel is Conveniently located 15 walk to Eiffel Tower. View from our small balcony was fantastic. Noisy hotel due to Reno’s going into the night. No assistance with transfers for our early departure.

Under renovation no elevator , narrow winding stairs, but overall, great location to view the tower. Lots of places to eat and pick up snacks if you want.

Location was excellent,metro close and lots of great restaurants nearby.Staff were excellent only issue for me was the lift was out of order and i was put right at the top with no warning at all from the hotel which i was quite annoyed about as have painful knee condition,plus the place was literally a building site,but the rooms were clean and very comfortable,im sure once all work was comete i would have no complaints at all

Call them directly before you book. This hotel is completely under construction. No working elevator, walls & floors are taped off being painted, 8am loud construction every morning. Rooms are loud, not sound proof as listed. No mini fridge even tho it's listed as having one. Bed was two twins pushed together so you are stuck to just one side because they slide apart easily.

This hotel is in a prime location, very close to the metro and in walking distance of many famous areas. The staff were some of the kindest and most helpful I have encountered. The room was exceptionally clean and housekeeping services are available daily. There are many restaurants nearby, as well as a grocery store and drug store. The breakfast is a nice addition. The staff will call a taxi for you if you need. I would stay here again.

The hotel is situated with a view to the Eiffel Tower and close to restaurants and subways. The room had a good standard and the bathroom was newly renovated. However the extraction fan in the bathroom did not suck air so the humidity inside could not escape. The roof in the bath was full of mould due to this. The room could should have undergone a general clean as it was quite dirty on the walls and in the ceiling.

Booked this on the basis of good reviews but was disappointed. The room was shabby and needed redecorating. The bath was old and had no plug. The shower head was blocked. The sound of hot water in the pipes in the morning woke us up. The receptionists were obliging but indifferent. They did give us a bath plug. The room was cramped and basic. Disappointing for the price but at least the location was convenient for the Eiffel Tower.

The room has no carpet. The wallpaper is peeling. The clothes closet is located in the bathroom. The hand held shower is in a deep tub that is difficult to get in and out of. The towel warmer is broken. Staff didn’t care. The room is completely depressing. Breakfast is mediocre. Only pre-packaged cheeses. Poor quality baguettes.

Very nice staff. Close to transport and Eiffeltower. Not clean rooms. Thick layer of dust on all trims, dust on the walls around the central heating. Only desk and nightstands dusted at arrival and each day. Floor was sticky for entire stay.

Very clean hotel, friendly staff and good breakfast. The hotel is situated next to a metro station as well a multiple bus stops. 5 min walk from the Eiffel tower!

Hotel staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The rooms is another thing. Our 2nd room had molded i the shower walls. And in the morning, there was water leaking into the room from the shower. The hotel is centrally located to everything. Needs a little of love

The only positive of this hotel is the location. Once arriving at the hotel we found out it is heavily under construction and the elevator was not in service (we were not aware of this ahead of time). We were staying on the fifth floor, luckily they had someone to carry the luggage but he really seemed to struggle despite this being his job. After our second night we woke up to lots of ants in the bathroom, which was very disgusting. The ants seemed to be coming out of a hole in the wall in the bathroom floor. We spoke to the manager and he luckily moved us to another room but was very rude. When asked about some sort of reimbursement he all but laughed in my face saying I should’ve told him the previous day but there were not any ants the previous day. The new room also had ants and bugs in the bathroom. Luckily there was a door separating the bathroom hall to the bedroom so we tolerated it for our final night but we were not happy and would never stay here again. In addition, the stairs every morning have garbage bags on every floor and due to the construction the rooms are very dusty. I would recommend not staying here.

The hotel was average at best, it did the job of providing a good nights sleep and a place to dump your stuff. The cleanliness was the main issue we found - there was a date on top of a fire extinguisher that had clearly been there some time (think I read a review about it just before coming here). The walls were very dusty and the bathroom was grubby with yellow/brown marks on the ceiling, dust all around the window frame, and the toilet needing a good scrub! The floors throughout hadn’t been thoroughly vacuumed and the mirrors were smeared. The lighting didn’t all work in the bedroom and there was poor lighting in the bathroom making it a faff if you need to put make up on. We found mist do the staff to be lovely, including one of the members of staff who gave my son a drink for his birthday! Although there was one member of staff who seemed to be quite abrupt and had taken a dislike to us from the moment we arrived!

Room was small, bed was comfortable, and had a lovely window view of the Eiffel Tower. Clean accommodation and does have a small elevator to get bags up and down. Very close to metro station which made travel around Paris extremely easy. Didn’t spend much time at hotel so it was perfect for our 5 day trip with a full itinerary. Didn’t partake of breakfast because several patisseries were nearby. Would recommend for travelers who don’t intend on lounging around the property for extended periods of time.

First, their Wi-Fi was down for half of my trip. Every day, the reception staff said they were “working on it” and I was even told that “this is an issue with all hotels in Paris” (not true, because we resorted to loitering in other hotels to access the internet). Second, their elevator broke two days before we left. Of course we were staying on the sixth floor. My favorite part was when we had to carry our suitcases down the stairs at the end of the trip. If you are looking for an accessible hotel this one should be met with caution. They advertise a bar and cafe, but during my weeklong stay I never saw a single employee staffing the bar. Also, the room was very dirty. There was liquid splattered on the walls of the bathroom, and the shower was mildewy, with some areas of the tile brown/black. There were even mushrooms growing in the lobby plants. Their sheets were also stained when we arrived, which leads me to the fifth point: the cleaning staff does not replace the sheets even when they are dirty. I know this because that distinctive stain stayed on the sheets through the first few days of the trip. On the fourth day, the sheets were replaced with another set of stained sheets. They advertise a stocked mini fridge in the rooms, but the fridge was empty. They advertise laundry services but when I inquired on this, they pointed me to the laundromat down the street. They also advertise luggage storage, but just had us leave our bags sitting in the lobby sitting area. 0/10 :(

We had a room with view of Eiffel Tower. The room is small but this is in the center of Paris. The hotel is in the excellent location that you can walk to many tourist attractions. And, many public buses around there if you like to take a bus. Hotel room is clean and staff is friendly and helpful. Overall, it was a nice stay.

This hotel is close to the Eiffel Tower (can't see it from the hotel though). The man at the front desk was extremely helpful. I don't know how it compares to other Paris hotels, but it was definitely the smallest room I've ever stayed in.

Great location, great customer service. The room itself had two small beds pushed together, the tv was outdated, and the AC didn’t work for us (maybe user error?) (we left the windows open over night instead) But overall we felt the price for what we got was definetly worth it. And the small issues we found did not negatively impacted our stay.

The room was overall very comfortable and the bed was fantastic. Only drawback was the size of the shower. I'm not a huge person (5'3" female with a DD chest), and had to squeeze into the corner against the (cold) tile wall of the shower and still got hit by the door when entering the shower. Otherwise, the room was great. Would not recommend booking it if you are larger or even an average size or above, due to the restrictive size of the shower entrance.

Our room was HOT and there was no obvious way to make it comfortable besides leaving the window open. (Which if you have seasonal allergies, you know, is not an option.) Otherwise a wonderfully perfect location for a small and semi clean hotel room.

Have stayed here twice now , can’t fault it at all but only one problem the shower door was abit tight to get in , myself and my husband aren’t skinny , door banged on toilet and then had to breath in , I would still stay here again It’s very convenient for metro , buses and a short walk to the effiel tower

Lovely hotel in a great area of Paris. Easy walking to the trains and busses. 20 minutes walk to the Eiffel tower. Staff was wonderful and kind. Breakfast in the morning. Lots of shops and restaurants close by. Thanks for a fabulous time!

Great location in nice, walkable area. The staff was very helpful, and made great recommendations about local restaurants. My personal favorite was Le Bosquet, about five minutes walk from the hotel. Also, La Septiem is well worth a visit. I have zero complaints about our stay. If I ever return to Paris, I’ll definitely stay here again.

15 minutes walk to Eiffel Tower. Accessible from metro station Ecole Militaire

Two short blocks from Metro line 8, view of Eiffel Tower from room, and fellow at reception desk was very helpful. Cafes and bars on corner.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Derby Eiffel. I spend very little time in my hotel when I travel, so amenities such as a pool or gym aren't important to me. Instead, I look for a clean, quiet place to sleep. The Hotel Derby Eiffel was perfect for me. Very clean, very quiet. The location was excellent. I was a fifteen minute walk to the Eiffel Tower, and there were great restaurants nearby. If you just want to nice place to rest your head at the end of a long day, I don't think that you can do better.

The hotel was affordable and included a view of the Eiffel tower! Only a 15 minute walk to the Eiffel tower. There is a nice lounge to chill out in. The room was nice. The staff were really helpful as ordered us a taxi for our trip back to the airport. Nearby are delicatessen shops, food market, restaurants and a mini supermarket.

Great location. Situated two minutes from École Militaire Metro. Cafe/ Restaurants and shops on doorstep.

Great location near Tour Eiffel and Rue Cler, just around the corner from Ecole Militaire metro station for easy transit anywhere. Staff was helpful and multilingual, and our room was spacious by European standards.

Llovió todo tiempo de la estancia y teníamos frío quería poner calor mediante el mini split pero nunca calentó el cuarto. El elevador demasiado pequeño no caben más de 2 personas menos con maletas. El desayuno demasiado sencillo y caro. No desayunamos nada porq no había opciones del desayuno bufete

Städning var bra men det var slitet. Badrum var dock väldigt fräscha. Frkosten vi betalade extra för var väldigt begränsad.

The location is everything The hotel staff friendly and helpful. The hotel room looks sad. The breakfast is not worth it to buy. It's hard boiled eggs with some ham and cheeses. Everyday the same. All food is cold. The location is amazing, just 10 min from the Eifel tower, 3 min from subway and all other nice areas. Rooms are old and need renovation but you can't beat the price. So you get what you paid for. If you stay in this hotel do not buy breakfast there, enjoy the restaurants around. There are plenty.

The staff is great; professional and friendly! The breakfast room has a nice variety and the girl is super sweet. At this time the hotel is under construction and there isn’t a working elevator. However, the staff did help with our luggage.

The location is excellent a short walk to the Eiffel Tower, and the continental breakfast that included is amazing would be work 40 Euro elsewhere. Good value for Paris

We loved our stay! Breakfast was excellent and all the staff fantastic.

Hotel was in a good location and we basically just slept there. However their lobby area had a strong odor of urine that was very unpleasant. Also the hotel breakfast was not hot and more grab and go style.
