Hôtel Du Vieux Saule

Everything perfect except sauna’s washroom. Seemed liked not many people using it. Water was clogged after one use only. Ruined our sauna experience. Other than that location, cleanliness staff all good.

Very small elevator (for 1 person only) and the small room were my only complaints.

The hotel was good except for the really small corridors and tiny lift. The bed was super comfortable and not much noise from other rooms or street. Super friendly staff, great location.

Perfect stay, nice staff. Only inconvenience is elevator issue. Cannot stop at lobby sometimes, you have to go to basement and walk up due to malfunction. Was stuck another time in between floors. Someone fix fast but in general it was minor in comparison to everything. I would stay again as elevator likely will be fixed.

So grateful the hotel had a lift, it was very small , however it was functional. Lifts in snall boutique hotels are rare. I liked that there was a person at the front desk 24/7. Very nice place,

Check in was very easy. The receptionist was very friendly. The elevator only fits one person comfortably at a time, but the room was a nice size with a bathroom and a sitting area. It was also clean. The area has a lot of cafe's and fast food you can walk to within 10-15 minutes. Over all, I had a pleasant stay and I would definitely stay there again.

The Lift is pretty small but unique :)

A great centrally located property right in Marais. The property is immaculate, and friendly staff. Only one negative is the off-site parking, it's only a block away, I know, though just a minor inconvenience. I loved this stay and would recommend this to anyone.

Location is great. Needs some maintenance, repair and deep cleaning. Standard room is very small, so choose room wisely based on square footage. Pictures definitely reflect larger rooms.

Located in the heart of Le Marais, a great location for seeing Paris on foot. Room was clean, comfortable, quiet and surprisingly large.

Tres bien situé mais malheureusement en tres mauvais état. Rideaux déchirés, moisissures aux murs et dans la salle de bain. Serviettes élimées aux maximum. Malgré avoir eu une chambre deluxe, tres petit et en piteux état. Petit déjeuner très ordinaire. Les pires croissants. Vraiment beaucoup trop cher pour la qualité et services. Je dois quand même noter que les employés étaient sympathiques et ont admis la mauvaise qualité de la chambre. D’autres ont été rénovées. A faire attention lors de la réservation.

I have stayed in this hotel a few times and this was the first time I was disappointed. I got a very shabby room, the water bottle in the fridge was open and leaking, there were small holes in the bedding and I found hairs in the shower upon my arrival. Not the quality I expected from this location, quite disappointing.

Fint, lille stille hotel. Små værelser og lille badeværelse, men det er jo Paris, så helt ok. Ligger perfekt i Marais med masser af cafeer, tæt på en hyggelig bypark og gåafstand til mange seværdigheder. Absolut rent og venlig service. Perfekt til en smuttur til yernes by.

The location was great, the street was quiet but nearby many dining options and shops and if you want to be in the Marais area without spending an insane amount of money this hotel fit the bill. However, the first night we stayed we found a clump of hair stuck to the top sheet. We were too tired to complain so we just removed it and slept without a sheet, they replaced it the next day but did not make the bed with it so we had to make our own bed. The staff were friendly and provided dining recommendations when asked. We didn't pay for the optional breakfast and I'm glad we didn't because the offerings looked like barely more than what you would find at a hostel. Our room was fairly spacious though weirdly designed with too many hangers and naked silhouettes but the best part of the rooms were the beautiful windows that opened up to a tiny balconette with views of a typical Paris apartment building and street. The shower was tiny, and had no where to place your toiletries which was annoying. It also should be noted that the elevator, while it laughably says it fits 3, does not fit more than 2 people (and maybe a small child?) or only one person and a suitcase at a time. The hallway outside the rooms is also incredibly small and you cannot comfortably walk through it with more than 2 people. Luckily we never ran into anyone from the other 4 rooms in the hallway or it would have been awkward. Overall, location and balconette made it worth the stay but cleanliness was lacking.

Room was fine/clean and exactly what I thought I would get

We loved the room, it was large and comfy, especially by European standards. The bathroom was spacious and everything was recently remodeled. There is an elevator, even if it is small.

Loved that it was close to transportation, restaurants and shopping. It is a terrific location and the customer service was very good. The only negative is the air conditioning doesn’t work to well in the rooms.

Great location friendly staff small rooms

Very very very small rooms..but if you just need place to sleep it’s ok. My room was newly refurbished. There was quite some noise from corridor and other rooms. Window with no view, just a wall in a backyard. But location good and just to sleep it works.

Great hotel the rooms were excellent and staff so helpful Only thing air conditioning wasn’t working - we asked but were never updated. All good as was September but it would be very hot in summer Definitely will stay again

They need to add blackout shades. There is also very little insulation so I could hear conversations in the next room that kept me awake at night, and banging doors and elevator noise woke me up in the morning.

Small rooms (not a surprise based on previous reviews), but clean and comfy beds. Good location. AC worked well. Overall good stay.

pleasant overall stay. but toilet alcove was so narrow it was hard for tall persons to use the toilet.

The hotel was fine except taht there was no stand up shower, only a bath tub with a shower and no curtain or closure. I paid a lot of money for a not very good experience in this respect. When I asked the hotel to print me the receipt, I was upset to find out that hoteles.com charged me about 60 euros more for 1 night than what I would have paid if I had booked direct. It's probably not the hotel's fault but they also could not explain why the huge difference. I'm annoyed with hoteles.com and feel ripped off.

A small room but well set up (coffee, fridge, hairdryer etc ). Friendly helpful staff. Well situated, three metro stations least that a 10 minute walk and a 20 minute walk to Notre Dame. I would suggest the superior room if you are a party of 2.

This is a small hotel just off the Main Street, very quiet with several options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A couple of Boulangeries for croissants etc. The room is small, the beds very comfortable with very nice bedding. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this small gem.

They were super nice and able to get us into our room early and with an upgraded room!

I cannot say enough how wonderful the staff is at this hotel. They go way above and beyond to help you in every way. The rooms are small but we didn’t come to Paris to hang out in my room.

This hotel is very small & served our purpuse well. We had a group of 10 reserved 6 rooms. Due to our flight we arrived earlier than checkin but we were able to leave our bags and they were in our rooms when we returned from our 1st day in Paris. Our room was small but clean & had everything we needed. Staff was friendly and helped is with questions we had to get around the city.

Nice stay, very convenient, lovely helpful staff.

One of our party fell and ended up in hospital overnight, and was on crutches for the remainder of the trip. The staff helped us with ambulance and cared for him for our entire stay! They were kind, thoughtful and considerate. Breakfast was delicious. Plenty of hot water for showers and a great location in the Marais. We couldn't control the heat or air so a bit uncomfortable. That would be my only complaint.

A very lovely boutique hotel. Great location . Front desk staff were extremely helpful and recommended some great restaurants. Would stay there again!

Excellent location and staff. Could not have been better. A little people noise at night from the street but nothing you can do. They got 2 bags of our laundry done for 20 euro!

Perfect location in a gorgeous part of Paris - lots of cafes and shops nearby. Very friendly and helpful staff, lots of character and room had a big windows which opened out on the street below. Will definitely return.

Lovely hotel with character in a fantastic location in historic heart of Paris. Super comfy beds with lovely bedding. Quiet street but lots of bars, cafes restaurants and shops on the doorstep. Great check in experience at helpful 24 hour reception

Located in a great part of town and close to train

Sehr zentrale Lage. Gut mit der Metro vom Place de la Republique in 8 Minuten zu erreichen. Viel Restaurants und Cafés in unmittelbarer Nähe.

O hotel estava dentro do que esperávamos, em termos de localização (o bairro do Marais é adorável). Confortável, ainda que pequeno, e com amenidades que muito nos agradam, como uma chaleira elétrica e frigobar. A recepção foi excelente, muito simpática, com direito a "mimo". Vizinhança com restaurantes, supermercado, farmácia.

Excellent location especially for vintage clothes shopping. I walked to the Notre dame, Louvre, Sainte Chappell and Galeries Lafayette and the walk was not bad at all since there so much to see on the way. There was remodeling going on and was told the AC will work a week after. I was given a portable fan and heater. I had a junior suite which was quite roomy for us two. There was no hair dryer in my room and the front desk person said she couldn’t find one for me knowing that I was staying for five nights. I requested to notify the manager and they placed a small travel size hair dryer in my room when I returned. They locked the the hotel entrance after midnight and a staff is needed to open the door going in and out. The staffs are friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel

Beautiful spot in the Marais area with lots of cafes. Walking distance to many sites. Front desk staff was very helpful with suggestions and the breakfast buffet was wonderful

The hotel is small and nice, clean, located in an amazing area, with shops , restaurants and markets , breakfast is minimal

Good location with plenty of dinning alternatives at walking distance. The included breakfast was very good and the employees were very friendly.

I really enjoyed this hotel. The bed was comfortable and it was very quiet at night. Staff were pleasant and the breakfast choices were good.
