What a hotel. Long history with high luxury and many prominent guests. It is a quiret hotel where you can bee relaxed from day one. Marvelous breakfast. Unfortunately the restaurant had closed during our stay, so we must come back another time.

Fabulous Hotel. Wonderful location, great team of employees, Xavier in the bar was amazing and dinner was excellent in the hotel restaurant.

This hotel oozes charm and old world refinements. Location is prime, parking is valet which is absolutely a must given that there is not even a spot to unload the luggage. The elegant room was a comfortable size, the bathroom was wonderfully expansive and modern; the bedroom windows open to a lovely courtyard. The restaurant is in the most beautiful lush courtyard. The staff was impeccable. I would not hesitate in staying here again.

Nice location, easy walking distance to all main attractions in the old town. Great restaurant- don’t discount it - it’s a must experience. Very friendly reception staff and prompt valet parking.

We were in room 115. It is a large room but the decor is hideous and it probably hasn’t been upgraded since Napoleon visited. The room smelt strongly of disinfectant when we arrived which when it dispersed left a drain smell. I suspect this is a constant problem. If you are allocated this room then ask to change. The breakfast was poor. It was a buffet but meagre. There was no milk for the cereal. That said the courtyard is good. The restaurant was closed the night we stayed (Monday) but the bar was open and the girl who served us was very helpful and got us some food. It’s a pity because it’s in a good position and could be great.

Charmigt hotell med bra läge innanför stadsmuren. Helt och rent, men lite bedagat (för att kallas 5-stjärnigt). Bra parkering.

Quiet place with an historical feel. Great dinner at the restaurant and also enjoyed the bar for less formal setting. Super, super staff...very friendly and always happy and kind.

This is a wonderful old hotel with a great history, located just inside the walls of old Avignon. The service was exceptional with an array of very helpful staff. Breakfast was lovely as was dinner in the courtyard of the hotel. The location made for easy walking within the old city, and was also easy to exit the city with our rental car to visit other towns in Provence.

Netter Empfang. Gepäck wurde zum Zimmer gebracht. Schönes Zimmer mit grossem Bad. Sehr sauber und geräumig. Fenster Doppelverglasung; sehr ruhig. Zentrum ist gut zu Fuss erreichbar.

Very clean and quiet inside the city walls. Close to the Papal Palace and lots of dining and shopping opportunities. Staff was very friendly and helpful as well.

The staff and service of the hotel were very nice and helpful. The hotel kindly upgraded our room when we checked in. The room was spacious, with a separate toilet, bathroom, and closet hallway. However, the separation of all the spaces felt a bit inconvenient. The rooms are fairly old and the location and number of outlets were inconvenient. Even though an espresso maker was provided, I couldn't find an easy to reach outlet to plug it into. The breakfast also felt very bare for the price (30 euros per person). We had it included with our room when booking, but if I had to pay the breakfast price on top of the room like I did with other hotels, I would have been extremely disappointed. For hot items, there was only scrambled eggs and ratatouille. It was otherwise a normal cold breakfast buffet with bread, cheese, cold meats, yogurt, and fruit. The bread was very delicious though. At other hotels, I've had bacon, sausages, and quiche at the breakfast buffet for a much lower price. Even though this hotel is a five star hotel, the accomodations felt much worse than the 4 star hotels I've stayed during my trip. There were makeup foundation stains on the bathroom mirror and the bathtub had black stains on the caulking that should have been scrubbed off. The history of the hotel is cool, but I wouldn't stay here again.

Our stay at Hotel d'Europe in March, 2025 was wonderful. The hotel was in an ideal location, the room was spotless and offered all the necessary amenities, and the staff was kind, courteous and knowledgeable with all of our questions. Would definitely stay again!

Like an ageing gigolo, this hotel relies on old world charm but, ultimately, can’t really deliver the (five star) goods. Beautiful building and setting but the facilities are tired and limited. Rooms are nice but really not 5* by any stretch of the imagination. I don’t mean to sound too harsh as there was much to like…but I would not pay top prices to stay there again.

300年も歴史のあるホテルでした。当然古さは有りますが清潔に保たれてます。値段とホテル環境はマッチしてます。

Beautiful hotel, perfectly situated. Very practical if arriving by car. Comfortable suite with nice terraces. Lovely bathroom - not quite finished (no hooks, no loo roll holder no place to put soap in shower). Very comfortable bed let down by terrible artificial pillows. No sockets or USB sockets by the bed; we had to charge items in the bathroom and other random places - just not thought about. Good breakfast. Helpful staff.

To start what really makes this property unique is the staff they are very friendly and willing to help. I had an issue with the WIFI as I needed to join a zoom call for a work emergency and the wifi in the room was sooo bad - inexistant- called the reception and they offered to change the room rightaway, unfortunately the other room had the same issue but I do appreciate how reactive they were. Beside, the property is very nice. The only thing I really didn't appreciate is the wifi, and very limited food options at the bar, beside, its a lovely place

Beautiful historic property in excellent condition. Excellent breakfast, super location. Only problem is noise on the side of the hotel facing the courtyard and bar. Could not sleep until the bar shut down our first night. Staff conveniently allowed us to move to a room on the other side of the hotel. No noise problem on that side.

Our stay was ok. Not sure of the 5 star rating. The breakfast was very average. We found the neighborhood to be loud. The room was stuffy and warm. We were told it was a transitional time and that air conditioning was not available for this season. Didn’t seem like a premium experience.

Overall it is a great hotel. However, AC in one of our two rooms does not work. When you turned on AC, it feels like heater is working and room temp keeps going up. The hotel staff showed up and did not bother to fix it. He just asked us to turn it off and open the window.

Terrible stay. Our room didn't have heat despite the windstorm and frigid temperatures. The in-room fridge didn't work. And the wifi didn't work either. Nothing about our room or experience suggests this is more than a 2-star hotel. Very disappointed.

Overall our experience was pleasant. The hotel was a little old and needs to be upgraded.

Excellent location. Close to everything that we needed to get to. Lovely courtyard in the hotel. Room we had was big and spacious - more than big enough for the two of us. Would recommend staying here.

The hotel itself has undeniable charm—an elegant, old-style luxury with a lot of character. Our room was particularly spacious and included a cute little balcony. The location is also excellent: perfectly situated to explore Avignon on foot. However, our overall experience was unfortunately marred by a serious lack of consideration for guests’ comfort. We paid around €460 for the night, expecting a restful and high-end stay. Instead, on the morning of May 1st— a public holiday—we were woken up at 9 a.m. (possibly even earlier) by what can only be described as construction-site noise: loud banging, metal being cut, and heavy machinery sounds. When I opened the window, I could see that the noise was coming from some sort of renovation or construction work within the hotel itself. We eventually got up and decided to check out earlier than planned. During check-out, the receptionist politely asked how our stay had been, and I responded honestly, expressing that it was unacceptable to disturb guests with such intense noise at that hour, especially on a holiday morning. Her response was quite dismissive—she mentioned they were “installing mirrors or something like that”—and proceeded to charge me an additional €26.60 for the use of the parking without acknowledging the inconvenience we experienced.

Magnifique propriete...jardin extraordinaire..! Au coeur d Avignon Malheureusement le personnel n est pas manage et laisse a lui meme. Quelques constats Accueil tres rude sans aucune empathie et souci du client..controle d identite par deux fois et ce pour une suite reglee d avance Suite pretendue non prete a 16h40 et aucune suggestion pour attendre confortablement. Pas de manager present ce week end et malgre 3 demandes pas de contact avec un manager pendant 4 jours Aucun mot de bienvenue dans la suite. Pas de fleurs fraiches. Une terrasse avec des bacs vides le pied du parasol mais pas de parasol Des bouteilles en plastique sans verre sur les tables de nuit Le service de nuit n est pas passe sans explicatio n le 4eme jour Le petit dejeuner servi gentiment ne comprend aucun plat ou gateaux cuisines. Pendant 4 jours nous aurons eu toujours la meme chose. Le diner dans un restaurant une etoile est lui aussi une caricature. Une serveuse court et debite rapidement les plats proposes. Nous nous sommes servis nous meme vin et eau quand au pain il faut insister. Au bout de quelques dizaines de minutes le personnel du restaurant sert aussi la brasserie. Pas de dress code... Tout cela pour dire que nous n avons pas pu apprecier le luxe et l attention que nous attendions..et tout cela pour un budget tres eleve de pres de 1000 euros par jour...je souhate sincerement que ce lieu unique trouve les voies de progres indispensables.Avignon le merite vraiment...

We have stayed at the hotel many times. We keep coming back as we love the ambience, the service and its wonderful history. I would particularly like to mention the front desk this year as they were incredibly helpful on a number of occasions

On check-in, we were escorted to a room and we started unpacking. The receptionist later knocked and told us we had to be moved to a different room, as she made a mistake. We then had to repack and move everything ourselves to a lower tier room. Despite many rooms of both tiers being empty, they insisted on moving us. It was rude and we do not recommend this establishment.

A fantastic hotel in Avignon. A perfect location for exploring the city and access to shops and restaurants. The rooms were great and very comfortable. The staff was very helpful. In particular, Soria was extremely friendly and give us some great restaurant recommendations. And thanks to Martin for letting us back into the hotel at 1 AM. Would definitely recommend.

Loved this hotel. Spent 5 nights here this past week with my daughter. All the staff are amazing! Arrived late and very dirty from hiking and the check in was so fast and friendly, they took care of parking my car and I was so grateful to be in my room showering within minutes. Breakfast on the terrace is lovely especially if you enjoy watching all the little birds. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Cant say enough about how great the staff are.

Front desk staff went above and beyond to make restaurant recommendations as well as day trip recommendations and neither disappointed. The hotel itself is luxurious, comfortable, and centrally located yet quiet. We would definitely stay here again!

This beautiful old property is within the walls of Avignon. Walking distance to all the restaurants and attractions. The property was well kept and the staff was superb!

This is a beautiful property with excellent service and staff. Breakfast buffet was simple but good. Very convenient location for getting around Avignon. Would highly recommend.

Dinner at La Vieille Fontaine was really great.

Restaurant lost its Michelin star and it was clear why. Food was good, service not so much. Front desk and concierge staff was excellent.
