My wife and I loved this place. The location is excellent and the property is incredible. Being close to the river is so nice and we loved the fire pit and hot tub. It was perfect for the two of us.

The cottage was perfect for our family of 3. We spent hours in the river fishing, floating and playing with the rocks during the day. We grilled and watched the wildlife from the hot tub and patio in the evenings. The long drive is great for peaceful walks morning and evenings too. Everything is updated and looks very nice. I was thankful for a full washer and dryer so we came home with clean clothes ready to unpack. Town isn't far away if you need anything. Thanks again Roby for sharing your property. We would love to visit again.

We stayed at the little house for 5 nights. It fit our family of 5 comfortablely. Beautiful area, lots of trees and some of the clearest River water We have ever seen. Our only complaint is having to walk past the larger home hot tub to go down to the river which seemed to make the other neighbors uncomfortable. Would recommend building a small privacy fence around the larger home hot tub. Overall, our vacation was great and plan to come back.

First time stayers, and we will be back! The house was very clean, well stocked, so much to do on property; fire pit, hot tub, horseshoes. Our young kids loved the river, shallow and deep spots for all to enjoy. Very close to town to shop, eat, explore. Can’t recommend the “little” house enough!!

The house offered great location with a short path to the Blanco River. House is nicely remodeled and included a well-equipped kitchen, comfortable mattress and bedding, a recently remodeled bathroom, and featured a laundry room. Also included a covered porch off the kitchen, a hot tub, fire pit, and horseshoe area. The only caution I would have is the rather sizable step-up into the kitchen and the bathroom that may cause issues for elderly or very young.
The house offered great location with a short path to the Blanco River. House is nicely remodeled and included a well-equipped kitchen, comfortable mattress and bedding, a recently remodeled bathroom, and featured a laundry room. Also included a covered porch off the kitchen, a hot tub, fire pit, and horseshoe area. The only caution I would have is the rather sizable step-up into the kitchen and the bathroom that may cause issues for elderly or very young.

This property is absolutely beautiful! We had a perfect anniversary weekend. The river was very close (short walk) and we thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub, fire pit, BBQ grill, and horseshoes. It's also very close to "town" with lots of restaurants. There's a BBQ restaurant even closer that had live music and an outdoor area - We loved it! We would definitely stay here again - It was the perfect slice of paradise. Note: The path to the river runs right next to the larger house on this property, and the river access is shared with any guests staying at that property as well. We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful property. The house is cozy, well-equipped, and perfectly situated among the Texas Hill Country. The private access to the Blanco River and the stunning views made our trip extra special. We loved this property. So close to lots of great restaurants and shops but still very private and secluded since it is on 25 acres. The river was great. This is one of the very few places I could find that has river access and still has enough water to swim in. The hot tub was amazing and the cabin very clean and it had everything we needed. We will definitely be back.

We had a great time staying at the cabin! It was perfect for our family! We loved hanging in the hot tub, making a bonfire, and watching all the deer around. This house was great - very clean and had everything we needed for a great weekend. Thanks!

As always, we truly enjoyed our stay and loved every moment. The solitude, the river, the walks in the woods, and spotting the deer were magical! Our little dog sure had herself a good time, as well! The house was immaculate and had everything we needed. Communication with Roby couldn’t be better. Thank you again for the wonderful getaway!

The was our 7th visit to the house and as always we loved our time there. It was so nice to see the addition of a dishwasher in the newly remodeled kitchen and a new washer/dryer. The bathroom also has great updates. All of our needs were met and the place was spotless. Lots of friendly deer gathered in the mornings and evenings which was a beautiful experience. Can’t wait for our next visit! Roby is a great host and communicator.

We came for a short weekend getaway. The small house was cute and charming and the ranch itself was amazing. We enjoyed exploring the acreage and walking down by the river. Wimberly was a cute fun town and we will be back. The only issue with the property was the fact there was some sticky residue on the floor as if it wasn’t cleaned thoroughly. I reached out to the owner and they were apologetic and stated they would address it with the people who cleaned the property. Other than that we had zero issues or complaints. Would highly recommend this property to anyone who is interested in getting away.

This rental had it all. Close to town if you wanted that experience. Private and surrounded by so much nature if you are needing a little rest and rejuvenation. The wildlife was so fun to watch . We had such a lovely time that we would love to come back sometime. The cottage had everything you needed and was updated and very comfortable. 5 Star for sure.

This was one of several trips we have made to Little Shade Ranch and we loved every minute of it. The home is well-stocked with all the amenities one might need, and the queen bed we slept in is so comfy! Beautiful and bucolic surroundings make this the perfect place for us. A+

This was our second stay on this property...1st stay was at the large house. Just two of us this time, so we thought we'd try the cottage. It was perfect for two! Clean, convenient and had everything we needed for our stay. Roby made check-in seamless and made sure we knew how to contact him if necessary. We very much enjoyed watching the deer and foxes that visited nightly. Would definitely recommend!

Loved the home! Great retreat and very quiet. Bathroom is a little small so be prepared to schedule bath time! Loved the hot tub and the kitchen was fantastic. We would definitely return.

The property was peaceful, clean, had everything that you needed and felt safe and really convenient in proximity to town but especially the river and so much nearby to take advantage of and really loved seeing the wildlife and how comfortable they were as if we weren’t even there. Instructions were all very thorough and made it so easy from check-in to check out. Overall a great stay and so nice to get out of the city.

We loved everything about our stay. Very well kept and clean. Great spot on the river even if the rest of it was shallow we still had a pretty deep area to be in. Easy to communicate with the owner and they were very accommodating. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again!

Wimberly was a cute fun town and we will be back. The only issue with the property was the fact there was some sticky residue on the floor as if it wasn’t cleaned thoroughly. I reached out to the owner and they were apologetic and stated they would address it with the people who cleaned the property. Other than that we had zero issues or complaints. Would highly recommend this property to anyone who is interested in getting away.

This was our second stay on this property...1st stay was at the large house. Just two of us this time, so we thought we'd try the cottage. It was perfect for two! Clean, convenient and had everything we needed for our stay. Roby made check-in seamless and made sure we knew how to contact him if necessary. We very much enjoyed watching the deer and foxes that visited nightly. Would definitely recommend!

Finding, scheduling, communication and the entire overall process was seamless! Everything was exactly as advertised, and Roby was a pleasure to work with via correspondence and ensuring our stay was perfect. Can't adequately put into words how nice our stay was, and I can only imagine how much nicer it will be in warmer months when the river is even more enjoyable! Will certainly stay again!

We loved this property. So close to lots of great restaurants and shops but still very private and secluded since it is on 25 acres. The river was great. This is one of the very few places I could find that has river access and still has enough water to swim in. The hot tub was amazing and the cabin very clean and it had everything we needed. We will definitely be back.

The place was beautiful and peaceful, tucked way back in the woods and built right along the Blanco river. Perfect place to get away from it all while also being very close to the shops in downtown.

My wife and I stayed in the "Little House" on this property that is shared with a larger house that is around 100 to 200 yards away. Their was another group in the other house celebrating a bachelor party, but they thankfully did not make too much noise. Both houses have access to the Blanco River which was such a peaceful place to sit by. Definitely will consider coming to this property again for a peaceful getaway that is less than 10 minutes from Wimberly!

This property is absolutely beautiful! We had a perfect anniversary weekend. The river was very close (short walk) and we thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub, fire pit, BBQ grill, and horseshoes. It's also very close to "town" with lots of restaurants. There's a BBQ restaurant even closer that had live music and an outdoor area - We loved it! We would definitely stay here again - It was the perfect slice of paradise. Note: The path to the river runs right next to the larger house on this property, and the river access is shared with any guests staying at that property as well. We didn't run into anyone during our stay but just FYI as I had this question before we booked and didn't see it in earlier reviews. Thanks for making our weekend memorable!

This is such a fun, incredible place to stay. HEB and coffee shops are 5 minutes away. That's just a pro tip because honestly, bring all the food and just hang out at the cottage!! The river is crystal clear and down the coolest carved-in-the-rocks staircase. Pictures don't even do this one justice. Literally one of the best vacations of my life. Top 10 for sure. If you're looking for a chill, relaxing, super fun for the kids, no need to pack makeup trip, BOOK IT.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful property. The house is cozy, well-equipped, and perfectly situated among the Texas Hill Country. The private access to the Blanco River and the stunning views made our trip extra special. We enjoyed peaceful mornings with the deer grazing nearby and relaxing evenings in the hot tub under the stars. The location is convenient, just a short drive to Wimberley Square, but still feels secluded and tranquil. Highly recommend this place for a quiet, relaxing retreat! We would definitely return.

We wanted to rent a place with plenty of privacy, but close enough to acquire groceries and have access to family activities. And that is what we found here. The property is beautiful and surrounded by nature. It had all the amenities required for our trip. We went out on many adventures and returned to relax at this lovely sanctuary. The scenic path to the swimming hole was charming and the destination did not disappoint! I absolutely recommend this place to anyone who needs to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and are looking to unwind.

Our stay was exactly what we were looking for. Our house was quiet, clean and close to town. It was a short walk from our house down the bluff to the river. It had everything we needed. The house was a perfect size for my husband and myself. Very easy to get to and and east access.

This property did not disappoint! The house was super cute, very clean, well-kept, stocked, and overall unique. Every item we used was in working order. The river was peaceful and pefect for swimming or relaxing along the shore. We enjoyed watching the deer casually walk past as we sat in the hot tub. The location was central — we tubed in San Marcos, hiked at Pedernales Falls, and shoped at Wimberley. Seriously, not a single complaint or inconvenience. We will 100% book at Shade Ranch again!!

If you’re looking for a charming, secluded place to stay; yet a quick drive into Wimberley, this is the place for you! The smaller river front cottage was the perfect size for 3 adults. The cottage had everything we needed for our week long stay! The clear waters of the Blanco River was just a short hike from the cottage; and we enjoyed floating in the river on a couple of hot afternoons. The hot tub on the property was also a plus. Had a small issue with the hot tub heating up to the correct temp initially; but that was resolved within a day or two. The host informed us that they are replacing the hot tub with a new one very soon. The host was incredibly gracious and responsive to our questions in a very timely manner. We would definitely recommend this home if you’re looking for some peace, quiet and relaxation among the beautiful trees, deer, birds and other wildlife that make their home in this area. We are definitely hoping to stay here again, if we’re back in this area!
