Ideal location. Quiet neighborhood, lodging 3 houses away from coastline. Charming, clean and comfortable. Don’t let name “Little House” mislead you-quite spacious. Large kitchen, roomy bedrooms, dining room/living room plus bonus room with desk and laundry appliances. Yard is completely fenced and landscaping is beautifully done. Highly recommend.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Wonderful house. Fantastic location. Nice décor. Very comfortable! Enjoy our daily walks by the bay/ocean just down the street. So close to many wonderful places in the Monterey area. Nice gas firepit and gas grill in the backyard. Would definitely recommend this house!!So many positives about this house. Only one negative which is a super easy fix for the owner: The kitchen is well equipped and stocked with dishware, silverware, appliances, etc. But there are only 4 coffee mugs in this house! There were 6 of us staying here for a siblings reunion. We could not all have coffee together in the morning without someone finishing their coffee, washing the mug, and letting the next person drink their coffee. (after the second day we went out and got ourselves some souvenir mugs so we could all drink coffee together:)So that is my suggestion for improvement for the owner--buy a few more coffee mugs for the house.

Our family of 6, including in-laws, and 7 and 3 year old, spent a week in Monterey and found the little red house to be a perfect home away from home. We were easy walking distance to fantastic restaurants and shops a few blocks away in Pacific Grove as well as the coastal trail to the aquarium and lover's point, the wharf, ect. Such a great location! The surrounding residential neighborhood was quiet, just a couple of blocks from a great playground and steps from the ocean, perfect for kids and families who want peaceful nights and mornings with the sights and sounds of the sea, not tourists and parties. You can't miss the views of the ocean or the beautiful stained glass in the windows. The back and side garden are fenced, with lovely landscaping and flowers in addition to the fire pit table and grill with ample seating. The kitchen and baths were well stocked with quality supplies like pans and plates/cutlery, towels, etc; we did have to apply dishwashing detergent, however eco friendly laundry soap sheets were a pleasant surprise. Of course having a washer and dryer is such a bonus! The layout and rooms are surprisingly spacious for a small house, and everyone noted good sleep in their comfy beds. The claw foot tubs are deep, and the shower water pressure is excellent with elegant fixtures. Communication was easy and very responsive, and overall the check in and check out process was super easy with zero hassle.

The house was perfect for our family and dog. It was spotlessly clean and well stocked for anything you may need. Beds were very comfortable. Some beach chairs and a small cooler would have been appreciated. We loved the character of the home from 1888. I agree with most guests concerning access into the clawfoot tubs but that’s part of the charm. Neighborhood was quiet except for trash day. They sure get started early 🙁. The location made it easy to walk to downtown PG, the coastal trail and Cannery Row. Sanctuary was great the work with and there were no surprises. We’ll be back soon. Highly recommended.

The house was beyond well-equipped (the kitchen had arguably more amenities than our kitchen at home) and the home was extremely clean and tidy. The house itself is also gorgeous - all renovations have been period appropriate for the home and it's just stunning. Having one bed and bath downstairs, with two more bedrooms upstairs along with an additional bathroom is a great layout for many families, including ours. Also, our pups loved the fenced yard and the incredibly short (1/2 block) walk to the ocean! Our time at Little House was pretty much ideal and we will most certainly be back!

What an adorable house and in a perfect location, half block from the ocean. The house is finished perfectly, tile, hardwood floors, everything fits the house. Every pot, pan, waffle marker, crock pot, knife, plates, plastic cups, wine glasses, mugs is available for you to use. Large refrigerator, toaster oven, keurig were all available. Sheets and towels were nice. Hair dryers in each bathroom, q tips and cotton balls, everything you may have forgotten at home. You can see the water from several windows. Neighborhood was so quiet - only the seagulls made noise my only comment was we asked last minute for a late check out and were told by management company 30 mins would be all they could offer, we accepted. Promptly at check out time someone came to the house ready to start stripping bedding and towels he told us nothing was communicated to him and we need to be more direct with the rental company. We left 5 mins after check out but it was a tad frustrating. House is great, location is great will stay again

It is a well-kept, comfortable house with all the amenities. The kitchen was great, has lots of room, and everything you need to cook. There's a nice backyard area with fire pit and BBQ which makes for a great gathering space. The beds were really comfortable. If you are looking to stay in Pacific Grove, this is a great choice!As with all classic Victorians, it has a claw foot tub, which will create some problems for people with limited mobility or balance issues. I am short, which made it a challenge too. It's a big step in and a big step out. That was the only downside for us, and I can't complain about it because I knew about it going in. Our family of 4 stayed in the Little House and loved it! It is so clean and there isn’t a thing the owners/rental company have not thought of to stock on the premises. The bath towels are luxurious, the beds are comfortable and the kitchen is stocked with everything you need, minus spices. We did not do a lot of cooking, so not an issue for our family. The proximity to Lover’s Point, the Aquarium, Cannery Row, Fisherman’s Wharf and the downtown area are why we chose this location and couldn’t be more happy with our pick. We walked everywhere! They even have binoculars you can take to view the sea lions, otters, and birds. Love that they offer all convenience items - hand soap, toulet paper, roll of paper towels, trash bags, dish washing tabs, Trader Joe’s shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. They also offer Ecos laundry sheets, which was a nice bonus. Many reviews mention the bathtubs. I will say, if you are not agile enough to step into the tub, you may want to reconsider this property. We did not have any issues, but for an elderly person, it would likely be impossible to get in and bathe safely. The house is so quaint and we hope to return one day. Rent this home for your visit, you will not be disappointed.
Our family of 4 stayed in the Little House and loved it! It is so clean and there isn’t a thing the owners/rental company have not thought of to stock on the premises. The bath towels are luxurious, the beds are comfortable and the kitchen is stocked with everything you need, minus spices. We did not do a lot of cooking, so not an issue for our family. The proximity to Lover’s Point, the Aquarium, Cannery Row, Fisherman’s Wharf and the downtown area are why we chose this location and couldn’t be more happy with our pick. We walked everywhere! They even have binoculars you can take to view the sea lions, otters, and birds. Love that they offer all convenience items - hand soap, toulet paper, roll of paper towels, trash bags, dish washing tabs, Trader Joe’s shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. They also offer Ecos laundry sheets, which was a nice bonus. Many reviews mention the bathtubs. I will say, if you are not agile enough to step into the tub, you may want to reconsider this property. We did not have any issues, but for an elderly person, it would likely be impossible to get in and bathe safely. The house is so quaint and we hope to return one day. Rent this home for your visit, you will not be disappointed.

Cute house just a few steps to the ocean. It’s older and decorated in the style of that time period. My older daughter declared it her dream house. I am not sure I’d feel comfortable there with little kids (due to risk of them breaking something) but fine with our older kids. It was very clean, housekeeping does a great job. We found most everything we needed on hand. Our few suggestions would be some crisp white, cotton sheets on the master bed, and that mattress is probably nearing the end of its lifespan. Also window coverings that can completely cover the windows would be ideal, both for sleeping and 100% privacy. Overall a great stay, we were sad to leave!

Only one negative which is a super easy fix for the owner: The kitchen is well equipped and stocked with dishware, silverware, appliances, etc. But there are only 4 coffee mugs in this house! There were 6 of us staying here for a siblings reunion. We could not all have coffee together in the morning without someone finishing their coffee, washing the mug, and letting the next person drink their coffee. (after the second day we went out and got ourselves some souvenir mugs so we could all drink coffee together:)So that is my suggestion for improvement for the owner--buy a few more coffee mugs for the house.

Pretty much walkable to where you want to go, with the cutest little backyard area! I found myself conflicted - I wanted to explore the beauties the area has to offer, but I also just wanted to hang in out at the home. This house is filled to the brim with Victorian charm. The clawfoot bathtubs were wonderful for soaking, but be advised, showering created a slippery surface. Be cautious of that. The home was well-equipped and very comfortable. I would love to return one day, however it is pretty pricey and seems to fluctuate greatly - but is definitely a “get what you pay for” experience. If you are very tall, I would not recommend this home only because of the low ceilings located upstairs. Other than that it’s pretty near perfect!

Our family of 6, including in-laws, and 7 and 3 year old, spent a week in Monterey and found the little red house to be a perfect home away from home. We were easy walking distance to fantastic restaurants and shops a few blocks away in Pacific Grove as well as the coastal trail to the aquarium and lover's point, the wharf, ect. Such a great location! The surrounding residential neighborhood was quiet, just a couple of blocks from a great playground and steps from the ocean, perfect for kids and families who want peaceful nights and mornings with the sights and sounds of the sea, not tourists and parties. You can't miss the views of the ocean or the beautiful stained glass in the windows. The back and side garden are fenced, with lovely landscaping and flowers in addition to the fire pit table and grill with ample seating. The kitchen and baths were well stocked with quality supplies like pans and plates/cutlery, towels, etc; we did have to apply dishwashing detergent, however eco friendly laundry soap sheets were a pleasant surprise. Of course having a washer and dryer is such a bonus! The layout and rooms are surprisingly spacious for a small house, and everyone noted good sleep in their comfy beds. The claw foot tubs are deep, and the shower water pressure is excellent with elegant fixtures. Communication was easy and very responsive, and overall the check in and check out process was super easy with zero hassle.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We’ve been visiting PG for the last 25 years and this is our first home stay. We spent a week here and wish we could stay more. The house was perfect for our family and dog. It was spotlessly clean and well stocked for anything you may need. Beds were very comfortable. Some beach chairs and a small cooler would have been appreciated. We loved the character of the home from 1888. I agree with most guests concerning access into the clawfoot tubs but that’s part of the charm. Neighborhood was quiet except for trash day. They sure get started early 🙁. The location made it easy to walk to downtown PG, the coastal trail and Cannery Row. Sanctuary was great the work with and there were no surprises. We’ll be back soon. Highly recommended.

What an adorable house and in a perfect location, half block from the ocean. The house is finished perfectly, tile, hardwood floors, everything fits the house. Every pot, pan, waffle marker, crock pot, knife, plates, plastic cups, wine glasses, mugs is available for you to use. Large refrigerator, toaster oven, keurig were all available. Sheets and towels were nice. Hair dryers in each bathroom, q tips and cotton balls, everything you may have forgotten at home. You can see the water from several windows. Neighborhood was so quiet - only the seagulls made noise my only comment was we asked last minute for a late check out and were told by management company 30 mins would be all they could offer, we accepted. Promptly at check out time someone came to the house ready to start stripping bedding and towels he told us nothing was communicated to him and we need to be more direct with the rental company. We left 5 mins after check out but it was a tad frustrating. House is great, location is great will stay again

Our family stayed upstairs and it was quite private from the downstairs. Everything was wonderful and the host was super responsive. The historic home is well maintained and the choices for antique interior accents is fantastic! It’s nice where they added modern touches where important like the appliances. The double deep driveway is especially nice since everything is very walkable from the house. Half a block to the ocean, less than 15 minute walk to the aquarium and Canary Row!We also loved how well stocked the house was, plenty of towels throughout, hand soaps at each sink. Body wash, shampoo, and conditioner in each shower. Dish soap and pods in the kitchen, and even laundry pods for the stack laundry in the office area. Communication was top notch, instructions clear, easy check in and check out! Would definitely stay here or anither Sanctuary Vacation Rental property again!

The house was perfect!! Great neighborhood, 1 block from the bay. The kitchen is excellent. We were only 3. My husband and I stayed in the downstairs room and my adult son stayed upstairs. There is another room upstairs with twin beds (I think). Communication with everyone was excellent. We loved this little red house.

Ideal location. Quiet neighborhood, lodging 3 houses away from coastline. Charming, clean and comfortable. Don’t let name “Little House” mislead you-quite spacious. Large kitchen, roomy bedrooms, dining room/living room plus bonus room with desk and laundry appliances. Yard is completely fenced and landscaping is beautifully done. Highly recommend.

Our family of 6, including in-laws, and 7 and 3 year old, spent a week in Monterey and found the little red house to be a perfect home away from home. We were easy walking distance to fantastic restaurants and shops a few blocks away in Pacific Grove as well as the coastal trail to the aquarium and lover's point, the wharf, ect. Such a great location! The surrounding residential neighborhood was quiet, just a couple of blocks from a great playground and steps from the ocean, perfect for kids and families who want peaceful nights and mornings with the sights and sounds of the sea, not tourists and parties. You can't miss the views of the ocean or the beautiful stained glass in the windows. The back and side garden are fenced, with lovely landscaping and flowers in addition to the fire pit table and grill with ample seating. The kitchen and baths were well stocked with quality supplies like pans and plates/cutlery, towels, etc; we did have to apply dishwashing detergent, however eco friendly laundry soap sheets were a pleasant surprise. Of course having a washer and dryer is such a bonus! The layout and rooms are surprisingly spacious for a small house, and everyone noted good sleep in their comfy beds. The claw foot tubs are deep, and the shower water pressure is excellent with elegant fixtures. Communication was easy and very responsive, and overall the check in and check out process was super easy with zero hassle.

Clean and very cute Victorian style home. Cozy place to be after a day of sight seeing. Easy access to the Monterey Bay Coastal Trail along the ocean. Just had to walk to end of the block for great ocean and sea otter views. Highly recommend!

A block to the ocean and perfect for two friends. One upstairs and one downstairs. It was walking distance to restaurants and the bike path. Pebble beach just a ten minute drive. We hiked everyday. There were so many amazing ocean hikes and the sea lions were birthing. 💕

We had a wonderful time at the Little House- it has everything you need (the kitchen was particularly well stocked)! It was so cozy and relaxing. The best part though is the location, we walked to the aquarium, the beach, the playground, restaurants, everything is so close! Loved our stay and didn't want to leave.

This home was perfect our family of 4, with two teenagers. The location very close to the path along the bay which made it easy to stroll to the Aquarium or just enjoy the views. We could easily walk out for meals and groceries. The home had everything we needed and was very comfortable. Instructions for everything were clear and easy to follow.

So close to many wonderful places in the Monterey area. Nice gas firepit and gas grill in the backyard. Would definitely recommend this house!!So many positives about this house. Only one negative which is a super easy fix for the owner: The kitchen is well equipped and stocked with dishware, silverware, appliances, etc. But there are only 4 coffee mugs in this house! There were 6 of us staying here for a siblings reunion. We could not all have coffee together in the morning without someone finishing their coffee, washing the mug, and letting the next person drink their coffee. (after the second day we went out and got ourselves some souvenir mugs so we could all drink coffee together:)So that is my suggestion for improvement for the owner--buy a few more coffee mugs for the house.

Our family of 4 stayed in the Little House and loved it! It is so clean and there isn’t a thing the owners/rental company have not thought of to stock on the premises. The bath towels are luxurious, the beds are comfortable and the kitchen is stocked with everything you need, minus spices. We did not do a lot of cooking, so not an issue for our family. The proximity to Lover’s Point, the Aquarium, Cannery Row, Fisherman’s Wharf and the downtown area are why we chose this location and couldn’t be more happy with our pick. We walked everywhere! They even have binoculars you can take to view the sea lions, otters, and birds. Love that they offer all convenience items - hand soap, toulet paper, roll of paper towels, trash bags, dish washing tabs, Trader Joe’s shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. They also offer Ecos laundry sheets, which was a nice bonus. Many reviews mention the bathtubs. I will say, if you are not agile enough to step into the tub, you may want to reconsider this property. We did not have any issues, but for an elderly person, it would likely be impossible to get in and bathe safely. The house is so quaint and we hope to return one day. Rent this home for your visit, you will not be disappointed.

What an adorable house and in a perfect location, half block from the ocean. The house is finished perfectly, tile, hardwood floors, everything fits the house. Every pot, pan, waffle marker, crock pot, knife, plates, plastic cups, wine glasses, mugs is available for you to use. Large refrigerator, toaster oven, keurig were all available. Sheets and towels were nice. Hair dryers in each bathroom, q tips and cotton balls, everything you may have forgotten at home. You can see the water from several windows. Neighborhood was so quiet - only the seagulls made noise my only comment was we asked last minute for a late check out and were told by management company 30 mins would be all they could offer, we accepted. Promptly at check out time someone came to the house ready to start stripping bedding and towels he told us nothing was communicated to him and we need to be more direct with the rental company. We left 5 mins after check out but it was a tad frustrating. House is great, location is great will stay again

We had a wonderful time at the Little House- it has everything you need (the kitchen was particularly well stocked)! It was so cozy and relaxing. The best part though is the location, we walked to the aquarium, the beach, the playground, restaurants, everything is so close! Loved our stay and didn't want to leave.

If you are looking to stay in Pacific Grove, this is a great choice!As with all classic Victorians, it has a claw foot tub, which will create some problems for people with limited mobility or balance issues. I am short, which made it a challenge too. It's a big step in and a big step out. That was the only downside for us, and I can't complain about it because I knew about it going in. There were a few very small things I contacted the property manager for and they were very quick to reply. Thank you!

Excellent location, just a 3 minute walk from the path between the Aquarium and Lover's Point. The house was comfortable and provided 4 beds, so no one had to share. Tub showers were a little tricky to get in and out of. But overall, we had a incredible stay. 👍
