Charming hotel, very close to Saint Omer and only half an hour away from Calais. Quiet rooms with views onto landscaped lawns. The decor is a little dated with a few scratches, but otherwise everything was clean and tidy. Breakfast buffet (€18) is served in an adjacent converted building. Ample parking and dog friendly too.

Lovely place for an overnight stop from the tunnel. Quad family room is perfect as mezzanine space for the teens and lovely grounds to excercise the dog, with bowls and bed provided. Swimming pool open until 10.30pm and lovely and warm - ideal after a long drive. Restaurant looked gorgeous but fully booked, so top tip - book up. We will be back - thank you.

This is an exceptional place to stay. Lovely room great staff and delicious food. Will definitely return. Only minor criticism would be that pool area did not live up to the rest of the hotel and could do with an upgrade.

Was disappointed to find out that the pool was out of service due to maintenance. Understand that this is required from time to time, but would have been nice to be informed by the hotel in advance and not upon arrival. Kids were disappointed. Also, all 4 EV chargers were not working. Again, this should have been communicated in advance. Bill from restaurant dinner was incorrectly added up, had to have it checked and then it was recalculated. Room and view was nice, but overall was a disappointing stay.

We often stop here on the way back to the U.K. The hotel is dog-friendly and it’s only about 40 minutes from the tunnel. The surrounding park is lovely and there is on-site parking.

The room was small, and stuffy but clean, with no place to put a luggage, perhaps it is suitable if you happen to be travelling with a cabin luggage. Breakfast was good. There was an ample number of car charging station on site and you can use them at no charge. Parking was free of charge. The hot water kettle was not demountable one, and every time you want to empty it, you will need to unplug it and replug it again and this was inconvenient. Staff were friendly.

Hotel is lovely, we were kindly given a compl upgrade as the room we had booked was so hot and this was very much appreciated. We went for a swim in the pool which was very nice although pool area could've provided towels but didn't. The room was nice but the decor in the other build g was a bit rundown. Overall though it's a wonderful place for a stopover either going into France or back to le shuttle. Would definitely stay again next time.

Very friendly staff. A calm place for a stay. The food was excellent without being particularly imaginative which suited us all fine. Our 7 year twins were treated with charm and patience and so was our dog. We also greatly enjoyed the pool.

Prachtige locatie en goeie ligging, lekker restaurant. Leuke lounge en bar. Pluspunt is het binnenzwembad. Vriendelijk personeel. Aanrader, we gaan zeker nog terug!

Literie atroce,une chaleur incommensurable puisque pas de climatisation,douche qui fuyait,et moquette usagée. Restaurant fermé en cette saison..joli et barman très sympathique,planche et vin de bonne qualité, réceptionniste accueillante,gros bémol sur la piscine où nous n'avons pas pû ou voulu nous baigner car eau très froide et plus que douteuse.Le parc est très beau.

Bel endroit. Après l'enregistrement, personne pour aider à monter les bagages malgre 2 etages à pied. Il a fallu demander deux matins de suite pour faire remplacer la lampe de chevet en panne. Équipement décevants pour ce standing pas au rendez-vous.

The building itself was beautiful and very convenient for the onward journey back to the uk. A little disappointed in the room - there were 2 downstairs at the end of a corridor and it made it feel a little like a dungeon!! There was quite a lot of noise during the night - a boiler or machine if some description? One lamp didn’t work and the when using the shower the plastic runner at the bottom of the glass panel was non existent so water all over the floor. I updated the reception who were really pleasant and said they would get it looked into. The breakfast was lovely and plentiful and definitely the way to start your day.

Grounds are stunning but as others have said service was a big let down. Had to wait ages to check in as no one on desk. Same happened later at the bar. We almost gave up ordering a drink. The room seemed quite nice at first but the carpet was absolutely disgusting and we kept our socks and shoes on the whole time! Food in restaurant was ok, nothing special. Service was better in the restaurant than in the hotel. We used this hotel as an overnight stop on the way south but won’t be returning.

De omgeving was prachtig het gebouw ook mooi. De staat van het bijgebouw was wat minder goed. Het voelde een beetje onderbezet qua personeel aan. Cocktails maken was niet de sterkste kant en tijdens het diner in het restaurant was het personeel niet heel geinteresseerd in de klanten. Bij het ontbijt daarin tegen was het personeel wel heel netjes en vriendelijk. ik denk dat het een pareltje is als het ietsje beter onderhouden wordt en het personeel wat geinteresseerder dan zit je zo op de 4 sterren! Al met al een prima verblijf.

Toilet was blocked. And not fixed during our stay No staff on reception. Noisey No.availability in the restaurant. Turns out they were short staffed and out staff on the wedding event and not the guests Rude on Réception. Not their problem. No.effort to resolve our issues.

Hotel was a beautiful old Chateau. Our Luxe room was on 2nd floor and a lot of stairs and no lift! I also would have expected AC. Being so high up into the eaves the room was very warm. The tea and coffee provision in the room was poor. We were kept awake well after 11pm by music and loud voices in the bar, amd on the terrace, even though we were told the bar closed at 10.

Absolutely stunning property! The staff were super friendly too and very helpful. The room was spacious and the beds were very comfortable. Large bathroom and also a balcony overlooking the grounds. We didn’t eat here but the menu looked amazing. I only wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely return!

Chateau Tilques is in a lovely setting and easy to find. Our Deluxe room was in the chateau and was spacious and comfortable with a view of the lawns from a large window. The Comfort rooms are separate from the main building, as is the dining room and pool. We were slightly irritated that although we had booked dinner and had it confirmed via Expedia, on arrival we were told the time we had booked was not available. The reception staff were apologetic and tried to help but it was an unfortunate start to our stay. The bar and lounge were comfortable and nicely furnished but staff were hard to find and we waited several minutes for a drink. Dinner and breakfast were ok and the staff were polite. The pool area was clean and pleasant with. towels supplied. There was a bird scarer going off every few minutes nearby, which stopped at night, but might disturb some people. Overall an enjoyable stay, but slightly below our expectations.

Grounds are stunning but as others have said service was a big let down. Had to wait ages to check in as no one on desk. Same happened later at the bar. We almost gave up ordering a drink. The room seemed quite nice at first but the carpet was absolutely disgusting and we kept our socks and shoes on the whole time! Food in restaurant was ok, nothing special. Amazing hotel. We were wary having read some reviews (after we'd booked) especially regarding the friendliness of the staff and the language barrier. Our French is nowhere near good enough and we thought we'd struggle. We needn't have worried and should have paid more attention to the positive reviews. The hotel staff were incredibly polite and super friendly, they couldn't have done enough and even helped with our poor attempt at speaking their language. As for the hotel, the room was lovely. Everything you'd hope for from an historic chateau. It was beautifully decorated, spacious, clean and very comfortable. We had tea and coffee making facilities and bottled water every day. The pool was beautiful and very welcoming after our morning run. There were sun loungers around the pool and on a small patio area so you can enjoy the afternoon sun. The hotel restaurant looked lovely but we didn't plan ahead so they were fully booked. We ate locally at Chez Ninie and can definitely recommend it. Other than that, you would need to go into St Omer for dinner, although you are spoiled for choice in the centre. This is a superb hotel. We can't really fault it. We will definitely be returning.

We arrived at 16:25 after travelling 8 hrs and went to check in which was ok. The young receptionist was brilliant. We then asked if they could book the restaurant for 19:30 to be told they were fully booked and could not fit us in. After much discussion they finally called the restaurant and we were told by the now rude and unhelpful older member of staff that we could go at 21:45. Again much discussion as to how we weren’t told that we needed to book in advance they told us they were short staffed hence no table. I said that it’s not realistic to expect us to wait till then to eat and could they recommend at restaurant nearby. Again no proactivity and after 3 further visits to reception there was no progress on finding us somewhere to eat and I was given a leaflet to try myself and find a restaurant. Meanwhile I spent another 2 visits trying to find out why the central heating didn’t work to be told that they controlled the heating from reception and they promised to put the heating on. Guess what it never came on at all during our stay and despite calling reception on multiple occasions no one answered the phone in the evening We will never stay there again

Lovely stay at this hotel. Chose primarily due to its proximity to Dunkirk Terminal as a stop off on our return to UK. Chateau style was delightful. Welcomed by the receptionist and shown amenities which includes a pool,restaurant and bar. Room was small but clean and nicely decorated. Had a lovely meal in the restaurant. I would stay again.

The building itself was beautiful and very convenient for the onward journey back to the uk. A little disappointed in the room - there were 2 downstairs at the end of a corridor and it made it feel a little like a dungeon!! There was quite a lot of noise during the night - a boiler or machine if some description? One lamp didn’t work and the when using the shower the plastic runner at the bottom of the glass panel was non existent so water all over the floor. I updated the reception who were really pleasant and said they would get it looked into. The breakfast was lovely and plentiful and definitely the way to start your day.

We often stop here on the way back to the U.K. The hotel is dog-friendly and it’s only about 40 minutes from the tunnel. The surrounding park is lovely and there is on-site parking.

This is a charming converted chateau. close to Saint-Omer and the A26, and not far from Calais and the Channel Tunnel. The property is in a very quiet rural location, with ample parking. This is an exceptional place to stay. Lovely room great staff and delicious food. Will definitely return. Only minor criticism would be that pool area did not live up to the rest of the hotel and could do with an upgrade.

The hotel itself seemed fine with clean comfortable rooms. The restaurant however is very dissapointing with a complete lack of personable service. Very slow response times with us waiting 30 minutes to even order a drink. They seemed so consumed with trying to demonstrate that they belong within the ranks of fine dining establishments that they completely neglect the basic needs of the customer. The menu is also disappointing with poorly constructed dishes lacking identity all of which were poorly executed. The only thing worth considering is the cheese board, but how hard can that be... The main issue though is the 'snooty' approach to service and lack of genuine attempt to make the customer feel welcome and looked after.. the basics. Very disappointing indeed. Clearly a restaurant that needs to go back to basics and realign its efforts towards a simple menu which is delivered well and ina timely manner. Customers should not need to try and attract the waiter/waitress attention half a dozen times, to the be told to wait... deradful.

The property and staff were lovely and it was ideal for our dogs with easily accessible walking areas and dog beds and bowl provided. Plus a ground floor room. The dining room was attractive, modern and comfortable with lovely views of the grounds. HOWEVER- The standard and quality of the food was poor and not what one would expect at such a nice hotel. We would stay at the hotel again but would not eat in the restaurant. As it was, we decided to give the breakfast a miss!

The hotel is lovely and the staff were excellent, sadly the restaurant was fully booked and we weren't aware we had to book in advance. It seems odd the restaurant doesn't have enough spaces to match the accommodation. We had to walk a couple of miles up the road to get food in heavy rain which after travelling from England for 9 hours to get to the hotel was disappointing. Aside from this everything else about the hotel was excellent. I would highly recommend this hotel but beware you need to book your space in the restaurant in advance if you want an evening meal. Expedia doesn't tell you this.

Really nice Chateau Hotel with excellent service and help from staff (Astrid). Clean, comfortable and fantastic setting. Pool was nice. Restaurant is limited availability on Monday (and Sunday) but Astrid explained all the various options locally.

This is a really great stopover en route to the tunnel/ferry. We travelled with two dogs and the grounds are extensive to walk them. They are also welcomed at dinner and unlike some other places that charge for them, they did provide beds and bowls. The meal in the restaurant was excellent. The only thing that is not quite so good is that the charge for two dogs for a night was 40 Euros in total (not 60 in total as suggested on hotels.com). I think that’s not a problem for a night but it would deter us from booking for longer which is a shame as it was a lovely peaceful stay. But overall, the experience was very good and we returned to the UK rested after a good night’s sleep.

Really nice hotel close to Calais, but in a quiet contryside setting. We had a great family room with a view of the gardens, and the hotel supplied a travel cot for our baby. We didn't get to uset he pool, but the restuarnt is lovely. Very nice staff, great food, let down slightly from the number of flies buzzing around.
