This our 3rd stay at the house and it is always soo full of life soo many things for the kids to see right off the dock and on the property, the peace and quiet, the sunsets and soaking in the Hot Tub after long days of adventuring and hiking are just some of the highlights. Ee saw some seals and otters abd a oeacock came to visit on a few days too. We are already looking into planning our next trip back to this peaceful paradise

We had a perfect Christmas holiday watching the otters play and feast down by the dock. We stayed cozy up in the loft watching movies. We were able to catch sea lions frolicking and harbour seals swimming by. Even though it was rainy we were still able to check out many parks and trails we haven’t been to before. I really liked that the house was down a long driveway and away from the road. We ended our evenings in the hot tub. Sooke is only about 30 minutes away which isn’t a far drive. Iron Mine Bay beach is up the road. It’s a short walk down the trail to the beach, which has quite the view!!! F you come in the summer I highly recommend taking a drive to Stoked Pizza. It is on the other side of Sooke but DEFINITELY worth the drive. A good place to picnic is at French Beach witch it a 2 minute drive from Stoked. We will be back for sure!

The worst part of this property is on the last day of your visit when you look in the rear view mirror and know that you are leaving! The pictures are spot on to what is there. The house was clean, well appointed and in a magnificent location. Wildlife included peacocks, deer, seals, herons, eagles and sea otters. When the tide is low, you can see a lot of aquatic life around the rocks by the dock. House does not have quick access to town, so stock up on your groceries before arriving. There are two grocery stores in Sooke. On your way to the house you will pass a general store and two food trucks. Both food trucks were great. The general store would not be the place to buy all of your food, but was really good for things we forgot or ran out of such as milk and eggs. We did day trips to Victoria, Botanical Beach (Port Renfrew) and the Sooke Potholes. There are excellent hiking access points along the road leading to the house. A great spot for a family vacation with our adult children!

Beautiful location. We all had an amazing time.. went for numerous hikes in the area and all of them were stunning. Only disappointment was the hot tub only worked our first day….owner made his best effort to try and get it repaired during our stay.

We had a great stay at this property. The house was well equipped and exactly as described. The kids loved looking for shells when the tide was out and using the provided crab pots. Our fishing charter was able to pick us up right from the dock too! Found lots of great hikes just a short drive away. A great home base for exploring the west side of the island!

Lovely house with hot tub. Upstairs tv room worked well with 5 year old. Snow was a factor. Had to carry everything out up a 200m driveway in 8 to 12 inches of snow. Wood stove greatly appreciated during power outages. Lots of wood.

Lovely stay with loads of natural encounters. House was well equipped and comfortable. Nice distance from Langford for visiting family. Close to great cycling on the Galloping Goose and paddling kayaks off the dock. Thanks for hosting our group!

Chad was an awesome host, always very fast to reply to questions we had. This property had it all! The layout of the house was perfect for the family to spread out. The hot tub on the patio overlooking Sooke Basin was the perfect way to end every evening. We would hands down stay here again!

Great communication with owner Chad. We were short on towels for our group and he had additional ones delivered by the next day. Lovely property as advertised and we took advantage of the hot tub which overlooks the harbour. Peaceful location with resident wildlife

Our stay was amazing, it was very hard to leave. This property is even better than advertised! Very clean, well equipped, spectacular setting. We spent hours just watching all the birds, the changing tides, and especially the otters. Thank you for sharing this home with us. We will be back!

If I won the lottery, I would attempt to buy this property. It is absolutely beautiful. We have stayed in a number of VRBOs in North America around the same price point, and this one takes the cake. It was very clean, organized, clutter free, and full of high end furniture and comfortable beds. The property is very large and private. My children very much enjoyed the dock and the shoreline. There is an abundance of wild life, we even had seals come right up to the dock to see us. Would highly suggest a fishing charter with “last chance” it was excellent. We also checked out botanical beach and the sooke potholes. If your someone who gets car sick, bring some gravol as there is not a straight stretch of road in the whole area. Hope to be coming back soon !

Very clean, well laid out home with many amenities including two full baths, plenty of linens, comfortable beds, and room for everyone to hang out together or have quiet time alone!. The dock, the wildlife, the location made this an ideal destination for my group of five ladies! We booked a return trip after the first night!!!

We had heard of Sooke and wanted to visit. Chad the owner of the property was very informative regarding paddle boarding, the ocean activities, and the wildlife. When we got to the house it was stunningly beautiful and clean & close to Victoria for day trips. We hope to stay again.

Staying at Heron Point truly never disappoints. Each stay for us has been unique. We see different animals and seem to have a hard time leaving. The house is always very clean with more than one needs as far as amenities. Chad is always available if needed. Private and quiet. Thank you as always for a lovely stay!

Wonderful location set along the shores of Sooke Basin. Quiet, clean and spacious for 6-8 guests. Was a bit off the beaten path so prepare yourself for a 20 minute drive to get back to the main highway.

This home is a slice of heaven on earth. You won't be disappointed if you want to disconnect from the hustle of the city for a bit. Cannot recommend it more! Well stocked, great kitchen, loft and back porch. Take some time and watch the wildlife. You will get constant visitors of every variety.

We stayed at Heron Point House for a week (myself, my husband, our two young kids, and my dad). The kids hand-fed the wild (ish) peacock, who came to our yard a few days in a row, and we saw the peahens and their chicks every day. The bald eagle landed in the tree in front of the house. We spent hours on the beach looking at purple starfish and jellyfish and collecting rocks and shells, and caught some crabs in the crab traps. Nature abounds, and the house is comfortable and well-equipped. It is right on the water, which was a treat to watch and listen to. It's not super-close to many amenities (though a general store and a couple of food trucks are within 15 minutes). We drove anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour to go on various hikes, visit beaches, and visit Victoria and Butchart Gardens. Highly recommend. We had a relaxing, magical stay.

In fact, while we had originally planned for some excursions and meals out, once we were there we decided we did not want to leave, so stocked up on some necessities and stayed put the whole time. Everything was wonderful. We had a great time and loved the beaches in Sooke. The house is in East Sooke, which I didn’t realize, so it’s a bit of a drive to get anywhere. The house is beautiful and very well stocked.

Our stay was perfect for our family with 3 kids (12-16) in tow! The view morning to night and everything we needed just a short drive to Victoria, beaches, potholes, wildplay etc was amazing! Instructions for check-in and extra information left at the house for our stay made our stay very simple. Can't see the house from the road but that's perfect, we had privacy and felt very safe during our time! There were items there for the younger kids but I would just make sure to watch they don't wander with a few rocky spots by the water. Thank you for hosting such a beautiful spot for us!!

We had a small family reunion at this waterfront beauty and it did not disappoint. Chad was very communicative during the whole process and check in was a breeze. The view from the home was amazing to say the least. We saw seal, otters and a passing by eagle and plenty of jumping fish. I would recommend and stay again should the opportunity arise.

House was lovely, clean and stocked with the essentials. The Owners responded immediately to any questions and obviously take pride in their property and guest’s experiences. The location was peaceful and private with wonderful views of the water. We watched otters play and seabirds hunt - even dropping abalones down to open them on the rocks. The hot tub was so restful and the perfect spot for appreciating the view. We highly recommend it for anyone seeking a great getaway vacation.

We had a fantastic stay at this lovely East Sooke property! It had everything we could have asked for including a first-class view. In fact, while we had originally planned for some excursions and meals out, once we were there we decided we did not want to leave, so stocked up on some necessities and stayed put the whole time. Chad, our host, was very quick to respond to any inquiries we had. Would love to stay again some time.Thank you Chad!

We absolutely loved staying at this house. It was clean, comfortable and we never tired of the views. We saw bald eagles almost every day. There were also seals, bunnies and peacocks. The host was wonderful. He came by on our first day there and we picked his brain for at least 25 minutes about things to do and see in the area. The hot tub was also very relaxing after a tough day of hiking. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a remote location and wildlife galore. Would definitely stay here again.

Staying at Heron Point truly never disappoints. Each stay for us has been unique. We see different animals and seem to have a hard time leaving. The house is always very clean with more than one needs as far as amenities. Chad is always available if needed. Private and quiet. Thank you as always for a lovely stay!

Chad was an awesome host, always very fast to reply to questions we had. This property had it all! The layout of the house was perfect for the family to spread out. The hot tub on the patio overlooking Sooke Basin was the perfect way to end every evening. We would hands down stay here again!

Great communication with owner Chad. We were short on towels for our group and he had additional ones delivered by the next day. Lovely property as advertised and we took advantage of the hot tub which overlooks the harbour. Peaceful location with resident wildlife

We had a perfect Christmas holiday watching the otters play and feast down by the dock. We stayed cozy up in the loft watching movies. We were able to catch sea lions frolicking and harbour seals swimming by. Even though it was rainy we were still able to check out many parks and trails we haven’t been to before. I really liked that the house was down a long driveway and away from the road. We ended our evenings in the hot tub. Sooke is only about 30 minutes away which isn’t a far drive. Iron Mine Bay beach is up the road. It’s a short walk down the trail to the beach, which has quite the view!!! F you come in the summer I highly recommend taking a drive to Stoked Pizza. It is on the other side of Sooke but DEFINITELY worth the drive. A good place to picnic is at French Beach witch it a 2 minute drive from Stoked. We will be back for sure!

The worst part of this property is on the last day of your visit when you look in the rear view mirror and know that you are leaving! The pictures are spot on to what is there. The house was clean, well appointed and in a magnificent location. Wildlife included peacocks, deer, seals, herons, eagles and sea otters. When the tide is low, you can see a lot of aquatic life around the rocks by the dock. House does not have quick access to town, so stock up on your groceries before arriving. There are two grocery stores in Sooke. On your way to the house you will pass a general store and two food trucks. Both food trucks were great. The general store would not be the place to buy all of your food, but was really good for things we forgot or ran out of such as milk and eggs. We did day trips to Victoria, Botanical Beach (Port Renfrew) and the Sooke Potholes. There are excellent hiking access points along the road leading to the house. A great spot for a family vacation with our adult children!

We had heard of Sooke and wanted to visit. Chad the owner of the property was very informative regarding paddle boarding, the ocean activities, and the wildlife. When we got to the house it was stunningly beautiful and clean & close to Victoria for day trips. We hope to stay again.

We tremendously enjoyed staying at Heron Point House. The location is very peaceful. We enjoyed seeing all of the wildlife, especially the peacocks, harbor seals, and bald eagles. The house itself is beautiful and well appointed. Thank you for a wonderful vacation stay.

Our stay was perfect for our family with 3 kids (12-16) in tow! The view morning to night and everything we needed just a short drive to Victoria, beaches, potholes, wildplay etc was amazing! Instructions for check-in and extra information left at the house for our stay made our stay very simple. Can't see the house from the road but that's perfect, we had privacy and felt very safe during our time! There were items there for the younger kids but I would just make sure to watch they don't wander with a few rocky spots by the water. Thank you for hosting such a beautiful spot for us!!

We stayed at Heron Point House for a week (myself, my husband, our two young kids, and my dad). The kids hand-fed the wild (ish) peacock, who came to our yard a few days in a row, and we saw the peahens and their chicks every day. The bald eagle landed in the tree in front of the house. We spent hours on the beach looking at purple starfish and jellyfish and collecting rocks and shells, and caught some crabs in the crab traps. Nature abounds, and the house is comfortable and well-equipped. It is right on the water, which was a treat to watch and listen to. It's not super-close to many amenities (though a general store and a couple of food trucks are within 15 minutes). We drove anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour to go on various hikes, visit beaches, and visit Victoria and Butchart Gardens. Highly recommend. We had a relaxing, magical stay.

Everything was wonderful. We had a great time and loved the beaches in Sooke. The house is in East Sooke, which I didn’t realize, so it’s a bit of a drive to get anywhere. The house is beautiful and very well stocked.

Wonderful location set along the shores of Sooke Basin. Quiet, clean and spacious for 6-8 guests. Was a bit off the beaten path so prepare yourself for a 20 minute drive to get back to the main highway.

Our stay was amazing, it was very hard to leave. This property is even better than advertised! Very clean, well equipped, spectacular setting. We spent hours just watching all the birds, the changing tides, and especially the otters. Thank you for sharing this home with us. We will be back!

This home is a slice of heaven on earth. You won't be disappointed if you want to disconnect from the hustle of the city for a bit. Cannot recommend it more! Well stocked, great kitchen, loft and back porch. Take some time and watch the wildlife. You will get constant visitors of every variety.

The house was as listed. It was clean, comfortable, and well equipped, with a beautiful view of the water. My daughter, her teenage sons and I had a very relaxing stay and enjoyed the property. Would do it again!

Lovely stay with loads of natural encounters. House was well equipped and comfortable. Nice distance from Langford for visiting family. Close to great cycling on the Galloping Goose and paddling kayaks off the dock. Thanks for hosting our group!

Our two families had a wonderful stay at this rental. The kitchen is very well equipped, comfortable furnishings and beautiful setting. The wildlife we experienced everyday made it quite special!

Our week-long stay was phenomenal. House was very comfortable and our family of 6 (ages 15-80 years old) quickly made themselves at home. Tucked away in the woods, the elevated location provided beautiful views all day (which were quite long during solstice). A short walk down to the dock brought marine life closer with opportunities to interact with a friendly harbor seal. At low tide we explored the tidal pools and rest of the shoreline. The grandparents had multiple locations to relax and take in the scenery. Grilling and cooking was a breeze. We enjoyed new finds in nature every day.The hot tub was perfect to wrap up evenings. Teens enjoyed it all - plus tv upstairs. They were sad to leave! We were lucky to meet the owners who were exceptionally hospitable. There were fantastic local parks and not too far from Sooke and Victoria activities. 20 out of 10!

What a fabulous stay at this beautiful home on the water! There’s so much to see in the area, but we were reluctant to leave because it was just so beautiful to relax and enjoy. I can’t give it enough stars but let it suffice that we will return. Best relaxing vacation our family has ever had, and the host was so accommodating and always quick to respond. Thank you!

This is an outstanding property. I would give it 15 stars out of ten if I could!The home itself is beautifully designed with large windows showcasing the magnificent view of the water. The private beach is a delight -- the tidal pool creatures, harbor seals and many birds made this a special nature retreat. Watching the sun set from the hot tub on the wonderful outdoor patio was blissful, as well as enjoying an early morning soak. The kitchen had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of bedroom and bathroom linens. My family hopes we can return to enjoy this beautiful home and property in the future.

At the risk of making it even more popular we can share that we had a wonderful vacation at Heron Point House! It’s got a great setup, and we loved just sitting on the deck watching birds- herons, osprey, an eagle, and a family of Canadian geese, plus seals, and fishing boats come and go. The current is too strong for swimming, so head West to great beaches! Comfy beds, modern appliances, feels far away and peaceful, but 20 minute drive to town.
