This was a very disappointing stay and not up to the expected Mercure standard. We had stayed a fortnight earlier and this time we could have been in a completely different hotel. Although we were remembered from our previous visit we were initially allocated a room with a view onto an unattractive courtyard. After three attempts found a room to our liking. The reason we were staying was because we had enjoyed the restaurant previously. But no one bothered to tell us when we checked in that the restaurant would be closed for a private function. And it is very difficult to find a restaurant in Niort on a Sunday evening. Eventually settled for a very indifferent room service menu that we chose to eat in our room as the public space in the hotel completely overrun by the very noisy private function. When we complained we were informed that a message had been sent to us to notify us that the restaurant would be closed. No such message received. Staff very unhelpful except for one young lady who was only on her second day in the job. A most unsatisfactory experience but it will be interesting to see if anyone from the property responds.

Très bon accueil. Chambre propre, spacieuse et bien décorée. Par contre, vue étroite sur le toit plat d’un autre bâtiment de l’hôtel. Restaurant très bien. Cuisine très soignée et prix correct. Très déçus par la piscine qui avait motivé notre choix pour cet hôtel. Le bassin est grand et agréable mais l’environnement semble peu entretenu. 3 parasols qui ne s’ouvraient pas. Douche plus ou moins à l’abandon. Dommage…. Au final, un rapport qualité-prix décevant par rapport à d’autres Hôtels Mercure que nous avons pu fréquenter cet été
