Hôtel central très bien situé. Parking surveillé et gratuit proche de l’hôtel « Le George » Très bon restaurant. Chambre petite mais très confortable avec machine à café à capsules avec plusieurs capsules à disposition dont une décaféiné. La ville avec château, collégiale et donjon et un centre animé.

The hotel is a few minutes walk from the old town so excellent location. Parking is behind and free but first in basis (we didn’t have an issue but it’s off season). All the staff we met were very helpful and friendly, noting some don’t speak English ( but that’s half the fun!). Downstairs is the dining area for breakfast which is a typical French buffet. The restaurant also serves lunch and dinner. We had dinner once night and it was lovely. Our room had a comfortable bed, small table and chairs, coffee and water. A small cupboard for clothes and a good size en-suite. This is an old building so don’t expect mod cons. The stairs are very narrow, there is a lift but it’s really more for luggage, and floorboards squeak, things are old. That’s part of the charm.

Lovely riverside setting at the foot of the castle area. Very old historic building which means very narrow spiral staircase and lots of beams. Definitely not suited to all. Clearly refurbished a while ago and could do with a bit of TLC. Lovely restaurant too, well worth booking in advance, particularly if you want to eat in the conservatory. Otherwise ok, not great but the setting wins you over.

Très bel établissement très proche du centre-ville. L’hôtel George a su conserver son charme du passé et proposer un établissement moderne. Ce que j’ai particulièrement aimé : la salle de restaurant avec vue intégrale sur la rivière / l’escalier d’origine.

Accueil très courtois. Très bonne literie et chauffage dans la salle d eau. Par temps humide et frais c'est appréciable Seul regret , le restaurant était complet avons dîné dans un restaurant chinois excellent proche de l hôtel, recommandé par l hôtesse.

Superb period property retaining a lot of original features, exceptionally clean and well maintained. Freindly staff, on site restaurant serving incredible food. Magnifique. Nous avons été très bien accueilli. L'hôtel est parfait ainsi que la restauration. Nous avons pu dîner dans la véranda avec vue sur la rivière, très reposant. Le petit-déjeuner très copieux avec des produits de qualité très bien présenté. Tout était parfait nous reviendrons.

Excellent sejour en famille, il s’agissait d’une brève étape mais du début a la fin le service a été impeccable, notamment grâce a la personne qui nous a accueilli. La chambre qui nous a été attribuée était très confortables, climatisée (équipement plutôt recent) avec bouteilles d’eau et café à disposition. La salle de bain était convenable, un poil vieillissante mais honnêtement largement au dessus de ce que nous avons pu connaître ailleurs. Rien a redire de la propreté. Tout le monde s’est senti a son aise immédiatement. Enfin, le petit déjeuner est assez classique mais très bon, et surtout dans un cadre très agréable! Nous reviendrons lors de notre week-end au zoo de Beauval.

Nous avons séjourné 2 nuits en famille (2 adultes et 2 enfants) dans cet hôtel, à l’occasion d’une visite au zoo de Beauval. L’hôtel, à l’image de la ville de Loches, est plein de charme avec son style château. Très original et vraiment sympathique. L’accueil et le personnel ont été disponibles, souriants et professionnels tout au long du séjour. La chambre, bien aménagée et préparée, offrait une belle vue sur l’Indre. Le restaurant, de type gastronomique, fut une excellente surprise : nous avons mangé comme des rois ! Seul petit bémol : la climatisation. Lors de la canicule, elle s’est révélée insuffisante. La température de la chambre ne descendait pas en dessous de 26-27°, malgré un réglage à 17°. D’après ce que nous avons compris, la ventilation est collective à l’hôtel et non individuelle. Hormis ce point, nous avons passé un super séjour. La ville de Loches est magnifique et mérite vraiment d’être visitée.

WE arrived after a 7 hr drive north through France , to a good welcome . We were in room 103 , which is the special disabled room which we would recommend if possible as it is was huge . The bathroom alone was bigger than the room we stayed in last time. The bed was extremely comfortable and the hotel is quiet with an excellent restaurant. We are already going to book for our next return to the UK in October

El personal muy amable y flexible. La comida del restaurante deliciosa y el desayuno muy bueno. El único punto negativo la calidad del colchón de la habitación. Una pena porque el resto de la estancia fue excelente. ¡Muchas gracias!

Hotel convenable,arrivée très forte chaleur, chambre plein sud,côté rue,PAS DE CLIM ,chaleur étouffante, avons demandé de changer de chambre et de côté, cela a été fait sans problèmes. Coin calme avec une vue sur la rivière et un stade. Personnel aux petits soins quand même et sans reproches. Dommage qu'il manque la clim et un parking privé pour l'hôtel ce qui me fait donner a 3 étoiles sur 5.

Excellent sejour en famille, il s’agissait d’une brève étape mais du début a la fin le service a été impeccable, notamment grâce a la personne qui nous a accueilli. La chambre qui nous a été attribuée était très confortables, climatisée (équipement plutôt recent) avec bouteilles d’eau et café à disposition. La salle de bain était convenable, un poil vieillissante mais honnêtement largement au dessus de ce que nous avons pu connaître ailleurs. Rien a redire de la propreté. Tout le monde s’est senti a son aise immédiatement. Enfin, le petit déjeuner est assez classique mais très bon, et surtout dans un cadre très agréable! Nous reviendrons lors de notre week-end au zoo de Beauval.

Le service à table du restaurant doit être amélioré. Nous n' avons pas été soignés ( table non préparée, pas de couverts pour servir la partie lègumes, cendrier non vidés, pas de présence de pain, de sel...) malgré l' amabilité des jeunes serveurs.

This was our third and we have both agreed final trip to the Hotel George Sand. A hotel which we had always found to be a good stay over between the north coast and our house in the Midi. What previously had been enjoyable quirks with this hotel became a real pain on this trip. There was a feeling that something had changed since our last visit in late April and the heart of the hotel and the team who ran it and the attached restaurant was missing. The whole stay was a catalogue of minor and Major mishaps, including being told the lift was not working and carrying bags up a narrow spiral stone staircase two flights, when it was, a shower cubicle which like many in older French hotels, requires you to be a contortionist to enter. Others though do not collapse upon you when you are in them and then jam open for the next occupant. The evening restaurant service was rushed and they were clearly training a new member of staff who was then left alone to attend to us, lack of team work. This then led to a mix up on our order, However the thing which really riled us both was the breakfast or should I say the lack of it, we were asked at what time we wanted breakfast and this was agreed at 8:00, we had also said that we would move our dinner booking not to clash with a large group. So at 8;00 we arrived to the breakfast room, tables unlaid, no coffee or tea, limited buffet of dried fruit and yoghurt and nothing else. Except for every single member of the large group. .

Nous avons apprécié d'être rappelés pour nous prévenir de la fermeture de la réception à 19h le lundi soir et organisé le bon accès à notre chambre. Déçus de voir le restaurant fermé comme tous les lundis malgré le weekend du 15 Août. Encore plus déçus du manque de restaurants sur toute la ville de LOCHES, cité royale, en ce 15 Août. Petit déjeuner extra mais aucun contact avec le personnel et le sentiment de déranger l'hôtelière au moment de demander la facture. Dommage car le cadre est très agréable et le mobilier soigné. J'imagine qu'on y mange bien...A réessayer en fin de semaine.

Lovely riverside setting at the foot of the castle area. Very old historic building which means very narrow spiral staircase and lots of beams. Definitely not suited to all. Clearly refurbished a while ago and could do with a bit of TLC. Lovely restaurant too, well worth booking in advance, particularly if you want to eat in the conservatory. Otherwise ok, not great but the setting wins you over.

The hotel is a few minutes walk from the old town so excellent location. Parking is behind and free but first in basis (we didn’t have an issue but it’s off season). All the staff we met were very helpful and friendly, noting some don’t speak English ( but that’s half the fun!). Downstairs is the dining area for breakfast which is a typical French buffet. The restaurant also serves lunch and dinner. We had dinner once night and it was lovely. Our room had a comfortable bed, small table and chairs, coffee and water. A small cupboard for clothes and a good size en-suite. This is an old building so don’t expect mod cons. The stairs are very narrow, there is a lift but it’s really more for luggage, and floorboards squeak, things are old. That’s part of the charm.

Vin de tourraine excellent. Agréable service Petit bemol avec le responsable de salle . Petit déjeuner royal ! A recommander dans une demeure au bord de l'Indre.

Magnifique. Nous avons été très bien accueilli. L'hôtel est parfait ainsi que la restauration. Nous avons pu dîner dans la véranda avec vue sur la rivière, très reposant. Le petit-déjeuner très copieux avec des produits de qualité très bien présenté. Tout était parfait nous reviendrons.

Stayed 1 night while travelling through France. Hotel and rooms were spotless throughout, with a lovely breakfast area overlooking the river. Beds were very comfortable and the hotel has plenty of character, including a beautiful original staircase alongside a lift. Great location for exploring Loches, with free monitored parking nearby and easy bag drop-off outside the hotel. Tea/coffee facilities were provided, along with a useful communal fridge, microwave, and kettle area only slight problem was no milk but we managed to get some from the restaurant. A really enjoyable stay and one we would happily recommend.
