Hôtel Le Bristol

The hotel is situated nearimportant tourist sights and close to many good restaurants. The rooms are fine as is the breakfast buffet. However, the information shown on Expedia indicates laundry service is available; it is not. The hotel’s internal info in the room indicates laundry that rooms have an in room safe. My room did not. The real problem though was not the lack of these services but the attitude of one receptionist when I asked about them. I don’t know whether she doesn’t like North American tourists, solo travellers or old people, such as myself who ask about the missing services. She started when I mentioned the difficulty of finding a cab at the TGV station. She said I should have used the tram or bus. When I asked about laundry service as I needed to wash clothes she said there was none and what did I expect her to do about it. She said I should go to a laundromat and wash my own clothes. I went to my room but was so annoyed that I returned to reception where she had finished her shift. I very nice employee did some investigation and found a nearby laundry where you could leave laundry and pick it up the next day. He also upgraded my room. Unfortunately the following morning I discovered the room had no in room safe and went to reception to enquire. The same woman was back and said that wasn’t her problem and she refused to discuss it. She gave the impression that questions weren’t welcome. I wont return. Her offensive abusive manner outweighs the good features.

Hôtel restauré très charmant ! Personnel accueillant et professionnel . Juste pas adapté aux personnes handicapées et aux poussettes ( escaliers partout ) Quartier proche de la gare , donc plutôt malfamé surtout en soirée .

Comfy and well priced hotel a short walk from the main sites in Avignon. Our room was quiet and comfortable. Good choice for breakfast and dog friendly. We parked in underground car park across the road which is 19 euros for 24 hours. City centre is largely pedestrianised.

Alles wunderbar. Schönes Hotel. Gut gelegen, keine eigenen Parklplätze. Großes Minus: der nette Kerl. An der Rezeption hat kein einziges Wort Englisch gesprochen - das geht gar nicht. Betten waren hervorragend und auch die Größe der Zimmer top!

A beautiful hotel, a treat to stay in. Great location and very comfortable. Very good breakfast and staff helpful. Parking tricky with top box but they found a solution.

Booked two rooms - one for myself, one for my parents. They were in the same category. My room was a fine size. My parents’ was even better - there was even a little foyer and the bathroom was big. No restaurant (except for breakfast) and no one ever manned the bar. But there’s a restaurant right next door that’s open late, with delicious drinks (including mocktails). Staff were friendly and let me practice my French on them.

Multiple short stairs, even had three steps in our room between bathroom and main sleeping area.

When I arrived at the hotel after a long train ride, I was told by the receptionist that there is no A/C. Would I like to check the room before I check in? She said my options are to keep the windows open or I can leave and go to a different hotel!. I am sure some of this was due to poor English but she came across as rude and not caring. I decided to stay since with windows open the temperature was okay but by the end of the trip I was covered with mosquito bites. There is also a very loud bar/club across the street and ventilation noise from another building so it only gets quite at around 2am or so. Unfortunately I did not have one night of good sleep when I was there. Apart from that receptionist, everyone was very nice, especially the bartender. The bar is underutilized despite it being very nice. Lobby/lounge area is nice too but there is no outdoors space which is a shame because who wouldn’t like to sit in a garden or on a terrace while in Provence? Room was spacious and decent. Hallways were lacking adequate lighting.

The only thing was our room smelled like someone was smoking in it, but over all it was a great hotel..needed a restaurant in it.

The room smelled like sewage backup. One of the 4 days during our stay, there was no hot water. The in-room safe did not work.

The hotel looked much nicer in photos. The style was great minus the condition of the entire place. It was very cheaply redone, just a new paint job/wallpaper, and newer but very cheap and poorly styled rooms. The bathroom was the worst part given the sloped floor which has clearly led to water damage all along the baseboards which were peeling off and crumbling apart. Same thing for baseboards in the room actually, and the floor panels were popping up as well.

The property itself was reasonable. Great area. The staff were prompt and courteous. The issue I had was with the room. The plumbing to be precise. The odours from the bathroom were almost overwhelming. It was as if none of the fixtures had traps allowing sewer gasses into the room. It was mentioned to staff and they suggested a “spray”. I’m not sure if all rooms had this problem I was only there for two nights and endured the stench. Another room was offered but I was already ensconced and leaving early next morning. Should you be offered room # 2 on the main floor inspect the bathroom first.

We measured its regularity and noise level. Each time it only “pumped” which lasted 4/5 seconds. Measured on phone app was 45/55db. Overnight this was approximately every 30/50 minutes (we timed irregularity- because we could sleep as kept being awoken by the noise). In the mornings it was much more regular and as little as 3/5 minutes apart. 2. Cracked shower tray, poorly repaired and stained. Seemed to be leak making puddle under basin. 3. Room generally looked tired and in need of refresh.

The room was great, good size and very neat. We stayed for only a day but it was perfect for what we needed. The staff was friendly as well. The only thing was as soon as we stepped into the room there was a very prominent sewage odor that we couldn’t find the source of. We left the window open and the smell never went away.

On a passé 2 nuits, 4 personnes cad 2 chambres, la salle de bain très propre, le sèche cheveux pas efficace, le petit déjeuner très bien. Le personnel du petit déjeuner sont très gentil et aimable. Par contre la chambre sentait fort l’humidité avec de la peinture qui tombe du plafond. On est était tous enrhumé les deux jours au matin avec cette humidité.

Unser Zimmer war zur Straße gelegen und dadurch leider sehr laut

We were given a room with no working air conditioning. A mobile unit was in the room but needed an open window which meant it was ineffective. The unit was also very noisy which meant we got no sleep. This room should not be used in the summer. This was in no way a 4 star hotel and for the price charged for one night was a complete rip off. If we were there for more than one night I would have made a complaint to the hotel but thankfully it was just a stop over.

Overall my stay at the Bristol was a good one. However, you cannot state that you have AC in the rooms when they reach almost 30 degrees. It was cooler outside than inside. We had to open the windows to be able to breathe, and then were eaten alive by bugs. Unfortunately I would not have chosen this hotel for a stay in the summer had I known this was the case.

숙소 위치가 정말 편한 곳에 있고 건물 외관에 비해 룸도 크고 침대도 편하고 적당한 수준의 조식 샤워실과 화장실 분리도 편하고 좋았습니다.

スタッフの方の感じがよく、お部屋も広くて綺麗。バスタブがあったのと、バス・トイレ別だったのは感動でした。 湯沸かしポットはありませんでしたが、コーヒーメーカーと冷蔵庫はありました。 朝食も、パンの種類が多くて、選ぶのも楽しかったですし、美味しかったです。 立地も駅から本当にすぐで、普段、駅近だったり観光に便利なホテルを選ぶ私もびっくりするレベルで近かったです。

The lobby is nice. Rooms were in desperate need of being painted. We were not sure if a chip from the ceiling was going to fall on us. The hotel in theory has air conditioning which seemed to work well for the smug nighttime front desk manager. We were on the second floor which was a complete sweat box. Avignon has a nice breeze at night so you could open the windows and get something to plug into the wall for the mosquitoes. A campsite would have at least had a view of the stars instead of chipped paint. If you are accustomed to sleeping in 85 degree heat with a fan the Bristol could be great for you. We bailed and went to another hotel that had functioning AC.

Bien mais j’ai connu des meilleures prestations dans un 4* . L’accueil n’est pas assez formel. La chambre est belle mais la vue intérieur laisse à désirer. Le petit déjeuner est correcte mais pas digne d’un 4* non plus…

Very Mediocre service

Service was great.

From checkin to check out the staff were friendly and very helpful. The hotel is very pretty and clean. They really take massive pride in your experience. Breakfast had something for everyone. The bed was very comfortable and room well laid out. I can’t say enough about this experience which was wonderful. Highly recommend!!!

Room was very well designed for sleeping. Nice and clean with very functional bathroom. Staff was very helpful, efficient and friendly.

If location is your primary objective in Avignon, this hotel works. If you want customer service and clean accommodations, this is NOT IT. We originally booked for three nights, paid ahead of stay, and because we could not get a train back to Brussels on the last day, we had to reduce our stay to two nights. We inquired about a refund for the one night weeks ahead of the trip and heard nothing from the hotel. During our stay, upon entering the room, the small was horrible. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, we didn't report it. The next day, upon returning from a tour, it was unbearable (sewer aroma). We called the front desk. A young man appeared with a spray bottle and confirmed the smell. He offered to move us but they were booked. I asked about the refund for the third night and we would stay in the room. He said yes and would leave a note about the room conditions. Needless to say, the woman at the front desk said they didn't do anything like that and would not even discuss. Handle it via email, she said. I did, and still no response. The photos of the hotel (lobby, bar, entrance) are real. I paid $1300.00 for two nights (three night booking)at a hotel that would not even discuss issues. Terrible customer service. This is one reason (for cancellations) I use Hotels.com. Now, I'm reconsidering this as well.

Convenient location close to main town and train station. Lots of restaurants and theaters. We came during the Avignon Festival so it was fun.

Great central location

Very good location. Close to a parking garage. The rooms were clean, cozy and the bed very comfortable.

Staff was very nice and accommodating. We were able to check out early but leave our bags at the front desk so that we could tour the Palace of the Popes before our train ride! Location is super-5 minute walk to Avignon Centre train station

A terrific hotel, well located for Avignon centre and its attractions. Unfortunately the Main Street was spoiled by aggressive homeless people shouting, fighting and begging outside the nearby Monoprix supermarket.

Staff was friendly. Room was clean. Location was perfect!

Hotel muito bem localizado....dentro da parte murada do centro histórico... Melhor fazer tudo a pé por ali...o deslocamento de carro nessa região é meio complicado. Hotel ótimo, limpo, ótimo café da manhã.

Great hotel in a great location. It was a 2 minute walk from the train station and less than a 2 minute walk to the place that all the tours picked up at. The rooms (2 of them) were right next to each other, were spacious, had comfortable beds, and they were super quiet. The breakfast was good and we really appreciated the lemon water and croissants that were available all day.

Hôtel élégant, chaleureux, et propre. Personnel à l'écoute disponible et sympathique. Musique et éclairage d'ambiance jazzy très agréable. Buffet du petit déjeuner varié et copieux et de qualité. Bibliothéque, TV, machine a café, infusions et thés ainsi que fontaine à eau citronnée disponibles et à disposition de la clientèle, indépendamment de la TV mise a disposition dans la chambre. Praticités: nombreux commerces restaurant et musées a proximité immédiate.

Das Personal war freundlich. Das Zimmer war okay mit einem sehr guten Boxspringbett. Kein Kühlschrank, keinen Safe. Das Frühstück war für uns unterirdisch schlecht. Nie so ein schäbiges Frühstück in einem Hotel gehabt. Für uns Vegetarier hatte man 2 Sorten 'Käse' - undefinierbar! Und täglich gleich. Auf meine Frage nach anderem Käse erhielt ich die Antwort 'Nein!' Ähnliches Dilemma beim 'Rührei' - auch undefinierbar. Wir haben uns Käse aus der Markthalle gekauft und mitgebracht. Das Brot war alt. Aufgefüllt und abgeräumt wurde nicht. Irgendwie fühlte sich auch nie jemand zuständig.

I loved the location and the pricing was very reasonable. I was a little surprised with the quality of the bathroom, very small and the shower area was expanded from the original shower pan area but because of that it was very worn out. But for the one night we were there, it worked out fine. The breakfast was lovely.

Personal, Frühstück

The breakfast was perfect. Lots of options and really yummy coffee. Location is directly across from the tourist office which made meeting our tour guides super simple. Can't recommend enough!

Good old fashioned hotel refitted with tastefully. Close to station and cit6 centre. Room was on small size but ok for fw days. Bath was too hight and hard to step out plus bathroom windows were still the old one and could not open. Not ideal for sunny days. Breakfast was good but could not see the point in pancakes if served cold. Ceiling in conservatory / breakfast room was peeling off and needed clenaning.

Very poorly built room, bathroom was astonishingly poorly designed with the shower having to clear partition from the rest of the bathroom causing the entire bathroom to flood including sink and toilet areas. Breakfast was subpar with hard pain au chocolate and overall mediocre food quality and preparation. night staff made my wife quite uncomfortable with poor communication, bizarre looks and ways of interacting. If there are other options available I would strongly avoid this establishment.
