Hotel Lyon

ºIt is a floor of an apartment building. The room is the size of a postage stamp with no place to hang or put anything away. They tried to give my girlfriend and ºi a bed the size of a large single to share. DO NOT STAY HERE. The breakfast was good, but down the street in a real hotel.

First, the staff was great! None of this is about them. The biggest issue was that someone walked into our room at 1:30am. They left immediately, and the staff did replace our keycards, but someone walked into our room at 1:30am. In relation to that, there is no door chain or lever to put across the door on the inside, neither is there any kind of safe to store anything. There is supposed to be a person at the front desk 24hrs a day, but they do step away sometimes, so security was something we were then really worried about. Lesser complaints, they make a big deal of the rooms being soundproof. They are not. Not even remotely. We were at the end of the hall and could hear every conversation being held in the lobby, and every noise from the neighbors and on the street. I feel the "soundproofing" isn't even that of a normal hotel. It's a quiet street, but misleading. The photos are a bit misleading, too. The picture of the modern building that says "street view" is not the building you will be in. The building you're in, isn't even the hotel. The hotel is one floor of the building. So you can't get into the building unless someone's at the desk and can buzz you in. They do not check who they buzz in. Also, small thing, but for the Americans who might see this, the elevator is incredibly small. An average sized US adult and one checked-bag might fit in very tightly. Also, "2nd floor" is the 4th floor. Otherwise, everything was clean.

Enkelt hotell beläget på ett våningsplan i ett hus med vanliga lägenheter. Enkelt och något slitet men rent och trevlig personal. Frukost finns ej på hotellet men man erbjuds köpa frukost på ett hotell i närheten. Mycket bra läge mellan La Barceloneta och El Born.

Fijn hotel op de 2e verdieping in een rustige straat. Kleine lift aanwezig. Ontbijtbuffet is in een hotel 100 m verderop in de straat. Op loopafstand van het strand en je loopt zo de leuke straatjes met winkels en restaurantjes in.

Posizione ottima rapporto qualità prezzo buono, al secondo piano di un palazzo datato; tuttavia accessibile silenzioso, camera un po' piccolina ma pulita e pratica purtroppo le finestre danno all' interno del palazzo ma un breve soggiorno direi indicato, personale disponibile; colazione presso hotel esterno comodo e ottima colazione

I had a short 2 night stay here and it was very comfortable and enjoyable. The room and facilities were clean and well stocked and the staff went out of their way to help and provide any information I needed. The one feedback I would give the hotel is to have a sign visible on the outside of the building so it can be more obvious where the hotel is. As it currently is, it is very hard to miss and walk by.

清潔さや安全面は問題ないが、とにかく狭くて暗くて気が滅入る。普通の集合住宅を改装したようで、初めて来た人には、ここがホテルの入口だとは絶対に気づかないと思う。

Great location! Not too far to the beach or Gothic area. Great local Santa Catarina market. Metro & bike rental shop nearby. Lots of eateries. Room was small but clean. No safe. Small old building with character. Has very small elevator. Staff are very nice. Did not try continental breakfast that was available.

El personal se portó muy amable y a unos cuantos pasos está el metro; además, a unos 15 minutos a pie puedes acceder a la playa :) el único detalle a mi parecer es que al ser solo un piso se escucha demasiado ruido a las habitaciones :c, aunque fueron momentos, no toda la estancia. Así como el tener que timbrar para que te abrieran la puerta y poder entrar. Fuera de eso, me hicieron la limpieza diario y todo muy bien, mi habitación la considero amplia.

The hotel was located in a side street. There was a terrible sewer smell anytime you walked outside. It was difficult to get up to the hotel as there was a tiny elevator for one person so we ended up walking up 3 flights most of the time. The rooms were small but clean. Very tight getting in and out of the bathroom. My biggest issue was that it ended up costing $440 Euros (almost $500). It was worth maybe $150 to $200 at most. I felt taken advantage of for what it was. No lobby. No services. Totally not worth what we paid for it.

Super céntrico ,muy cerca de todo , tambien tiene cerca parada de metro y de autobús . El hotel es muy muy viejo , cuando entras en el portal y ves el ascensor te quedas ... 😱 Pero las habitaciones están súper limpias , te hacen la habitación y cambian las toallas todas los días, al llegar nos dieron una botella de agua grande , hay gel y jabón de manos. Por suerte me tocó una habitación con balcón . A mí me pareció muy bien por el precio , lo cogí con desayuno bufete , el desayuno es el el hotel de al lado a solo 50 metros y está bien , cafés , zumos , bollería , embutido , tortilla de patata , beicon ... Si queréis comida rápida ,hay un mc donal's a pocos metros . Y si queréis comprar recuerdos y regalos tanto de niño como de adulto , os recomiendo la tienda DADA GIFTS no está lejos del hotel y Tiene super descuentos , es la tienda con mejores precios de todas las que vi

This property is quite basic but clean and the beds were comfortable. Nice bathroom as well. Not a very big room but was fine for 2 people for 2 nights. The best thing about this hotel was the area it was in. Close to the port and parks and lots of restaurants.

My room was clean, and hotel staff was really really kind. I’m glad I found this hotel. If you are looking for luxury hotels, this hotel is not for you. But if you are in Barcelona busy going out exploring the city most of time and need a room to stay comfortably, I recommend this hotel.

Very friendly staff and the hotel was clean but the hotel was dated and there were very small rooms.

Although a bare bones space - it was in a perfect location for getting around and the room was very clean! A great option if you’re not spending the day in the hotel - which most guests would not be!

This little hotel is a time capsule with its antique elevator and bidet in the insuite bathroom. It's very convenient to restaurants, like McDonald's just around the left corner and Starbucks which you reach after a great stroll around the Santa Maria del Mar cathedral. Also, walking up the street takes you to a beautifully detailed train station and a lovely park with statues. The staff were friendly and great to deal with. The room and linens were clean and inviting. We are a couple in our 80s and heartlly recommend this little boutique Hotel. Mary Y Miguel Heartily recommend this little gem.

Staff very friendly and happy to help. I took a chance arriving early from the airport because of a change of flight and my room was ready at 10h AM, that was the big plus. For the rest it was a very solo room ans it’s a very old building so you can hear everything. The sink is to big for the bathroom so you can’t sit straight on the toilet. It was a last minute booking because of flight delays so I was not expecting a Palace but let’s say that 300C$ (+/- 200 €) is very expensive for what it was. But the location is nice and I guess it would have been cheaper if booker longer in advance.

The room don’t match pictures, and are very close to the reception so it gets noisy. Personel is great.

Truly a last resort. The property is decrepit, depressing and unappealing. Walls are so thin you can hear every word of your neighbour and the rooms are grim and grey (although clean). Staff are exceedingly rude and dismissive, barely looking up as you say hello. I shudder to think what we paid for the place. Location is good, close to El Born and good dining options.

En general un buen hotel, deben arreglar detalles como confusión a la reserva de una cama matrimonial y nos dieron 2 sencillas, nos toco unirlas si queríamos dormir juntos, mejorar la limpieza d ellos baños. My room was clean, and hotel staff was really really kind. I’m glad I found this hotel. If you are looking for luxury hotels, this hotel is not for you. But if you are in Barcelona busy going out exploring the city most of time and need a room to stay comfortably, I recommend this hotel.

I’m one of those travelers that only need a place to lay my head at night and do my hygienic necessities. Although the physical structure is kind of small, this for me was outweighed by the fact that everything in the room and bathroom worked fine, there was an air conditioner that I controlled, and great WiFi in the room. The staff was great, especially allowing me to stay in the same room for an extra day once I changed my travel plans.

We were at the lyon hotel for three nights. It was very convenient to the beach, and all the main walking areas, some cute and delicious restaurants and close to metro and bus. The room was small and so was the elevator, but we were hardly at the room anyway and it gave us the rest we needed. The staff was very nice. We would reserve here again if we come back to Barcelona.

Très belle semaine à Barcelone . L’hôte situé dans le quartier El Born est très agréable, très bien situé il est proche d’une station de métro et de la gare . Très pratique pour aller dans Barcelone à pied . On peut disposer d’un parking privé, payant et sécurisé à 100m de l’hôtel. Hôtel simple mais très propre avec salle de bain privée.

Very quiet and excellent breakfast. Great location close to all activities , harbor and train station.

I travelled with my brother for a short stay. The staff were extremely friendly and open and supportive. Breakfast buffet is available in the nearby Hotel only a few steps away from Hotel Lyon. We couldn't find the actual hotel floor straight away as it is on the third floor of an apartment building. Otherwise, we were happy with it. Cleanliness and friendliness of staff were most important to us. We would book it again.
