Oriel House Leisure Club & Spa

We had a quick, 1 night stay here. This was our only traditional "hotel" stay while in Ireland. We booked 2 rooms and they were exactly as you would expect at any nice hotel in the US. The most unique part of this hotel is the pool/fitness area, which is below the hotel. This area doubles as a local gym with memberships. The pool was HUGE, had several different hang-out areas, and a large jacuzzi. There was a steam room, a sauna, and a 2-story fitness area. Access to this area is included in your stay. Overall, a very nice stop on our trip.

It was a clean and staffed with very nice people. I was expecting more as it had a 9/10 rating is all. Parking and bringing luggage into hotel was a challenge as no elevator from parking and I couldn’t drop at door and leave luggage alone to go park. The staff were 10/10

Room could have been cleaner, but was tolerable. The hot/cold valve for the shower didn’t always work as it should have and the bathroom was a bit run down overall. Parking and other guest services were superb though!

Oriel House is a comfortable and modern hotel which would suit business and leisure stays alike. There is a good spa and swimming pool attached and we enjoyed using this each day we were there. The staff were friendly and helpful - I had an issue with the original room we were given and they changed it without any fuss, quickly and efficiently. My only question comes over food. The restaurants are adequate but, on balance, I'd recommend going into the town for dinner. Breakfast is a self-service buffet with a good selection, though the hot food (kept under silver domes) was not as hot as I would have liked.

Es war eine Katastrophe! Der Spa Bereich ist die reinste Lüge! Die Bilder vom Spa sind komplett falsch und unwahr!In Wahrheit ist es ein Schwimmbad mit Sauna und Dampfbad aus den 60-70gern Jahren welches absolut runter gekommen ist und in einem grausamen Zustand ist! Die Fenster sind verkalkt und schmutzig, die Sauna zersplittert und die Holz Verkleidung kaputt , es hingen offene Kabel in der Sauna! Das „Dampfbad“ ist enorm ekelhaft und riecht übel. Im Schwimmbad schwammen diverse Pflaster herum… Die Böden der gesamten Anlage sind total zerstört und mit Gummi Matten ausgelegt und die Damen Bekleidungen ähneln einem Bunker aus den 60er Jahren… Alles in allem habe ich keine Ahnung wieso dieses Hotel 4 Sterne hat?! Diese sind nicht gerechtfertigt. Das Personal ist ebenfalls nicht besonders freundlich oder hilfsbereit. Insgesamt ist es das Schlechteste Hotel in dem ich seit Langem war! Die Bilder entsprechen nicht der Realität!!! Der „Spa Bereich“ ist einfach nur grausam! Das Restaurant ist ebenfalls nicht toll. Die Zimmer sind in Ordnung und sauber. Jedoch habe ich dieses Hotel eben wegen Zimmer und Spa Angebot gewählt und es ist einfach unwahr was gezeigt angepriesen wird. Es ist fast schon dreist was hier porträtiert wird. Die Bilder zeigen meist den Teil des Boutique Hotels und NICHT des „Standard“Oriel Hotels…. Für mich nie wieder! P.S: Fotos sind verboten im Hotel vor allem im „Spa“ Bereich (welch ein wunder).

Large rooms, large beds, hot tub and pool access, FAIRY HOUSES - all were fantastic

This was one of the nicest but least expensive hotels on our tour of Ireland. We were upgrade to a really nice room, food was good and the fym and pool were amazing. It does have local membership for them so there was a water aerobics class going on. Worththe extra people for what you get. Great for kids. Parking on site a plus too. Was some construction noise.

There is a big pool, sauna, and fitness center. We liked the pub though did not try the restaurant which had a good menu selection. Our favorite place to stay thus far in last two weeks.

Easy checking and ample parking with lots to do around area. Used gym and spa tub, wished aqua area stayed open later. Staff super friendly. Only hiccup was the room key, had to make 4 trips to desk when key quit working after being there for 2 days. Would definitely stay again though.

Our stay was excellent. The room was huge, spotless, quiet and the bed was really comfy too.

We are from out of country so we didn’t know the door key also worked the lights. The carpet was badly stained and the curtains fraying. The tub jets were dirty with gunk. There was no hot water for a showing the morning. The restaurant staff were great and coffee was great.

Not quite the quality I would expect from a 4 star hotel. Issues with cold food in the bar and grill. Not a great cooked breakfast. Room not cleaned properly and mould around the shower cubicle where it hadn’t been cleaned properly over a period of time. But staff on reception excellent and friendly and otherwise comfortable rooms

Dans la première chambre qu’on nous a donné, il y avait de la matière fécale du dernier utilisateur de la chambre dans les toilettes. Nous avons demandé à changer de chambre et nous avons eu une chambre vieillotte, cette fois ci,il y avait des traces de goûtes sur le siège des toilettes, que j’ai dû nettoyer moi même. La moquette était tachée, la table avait des traces de cigarettes ou je ne sais quoi, et les abats jours étaient déchirés. Bref cela ne valait pas le prix que nous avons payé soit 165 euros, ni les 4 étoiles.

Hotel was beautiful and room was lovely, service was excellent. The only disappointment was that the shower was filthy at the bottom of the shower door, which is down to general housekeeping. Other than that, lovely place to stay.

Beautiful hotel spoilt by poor housekeeping. Stayed 3 nights & could not shower the first night due to a very mouldy shower cubicle. Reported this plus toilet flush handle missing and old bits of crisps on the floor. The mould was rectified along with the floor being swept but despite reporting the toilet flush each day nothing was done. Staff very apologetic but when it costs almost £200 a night I feel if they couldn't manage to sort a simple problem they should have compensated me.

Spacious room with 2 double beds. A number of small neglections in the maintenance. Good breakfast at addition 15€. Poor selection a quality at the restaurant. Nice location relatively close to restaurants and highway. If they would spend more time on fixing things this could be again the high profile place it once was. Now it is just ok

Room had no window that could open. Room was cold. Had to have aircon heating on most of the time. Bathroom towel rail did not work. Bathroom air vent did not work but allowed cold air form outside to enter the bathroom and room. Breakfast was mediocre. Noise from above from 1100 to 0300 hours. Adjoining doors very noisy when closed. I did not feel it was value for money.

The property is a bit tired looking. Carpets and furniture are stained. Otherwise, hotel was quiet (except during a wedding reception on Friday night) and the bed was comfortable.

No mini refrigerator in the room which was a bummer.

Very clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Bed was not that comfortable and had a down duvet. No non-down bedding available the first night, but they did switch it out the second night.

No volvería.

We stayed in a twin room the room has all facilities tea coffee iron hairdryer but only 1 bath towel for a double room. There was no shampoo in the shower only in the bath and tiles were broken in the bathroom.Beds clean and comfortable

Excellent really but one MAJOR problem. Heating system in the rooms is abysmal. Took about 3 hours to get up to desired level. (NOT a "one off"). 4th or 5th visit in 12 months (same problem. Obviously not a problem in August etc but...)

I booked this hotel on the strength that I had stayed here previously and had enjoyed my stay. I was given a family room with bunk beds, but that was no issue as on the whole there was nothing wrong with it. The bed was a little hard for my liking. Food in bar lovely and wifi fast and reliable. Good stay

Great staff, I had two requests and they fulfilled both of them for me, they went the extra mile. Second time staying here and will be back.

Lovely staff. Its professional without being 'fussy'. Young waitress on Breakfasts last Thur was very nice and helpful. Nice views of the Irish countryside. Ballincollig is a nice town. Not far from Cork city itself. I would go there again. Kev. Solo Traveller.

My go to hotel when i am in Cork. srevice standard is always excellent

Great hotel and I will stay again as I’ve stayed many times before but it’s not the first time that the restaurant staff have forgot my order and I had to remind them after an hour.

Very nice hotel with friendly staff. Extremely clean as well. Check-in and our was very easy.

Fenella at the front desk was amazing however all other staff and service was well below par. The service and staff in the breakfast restaurant was very poor. Hotel made a big fuss about booking a time only to turn up at the right time and breakfast was half ready and staff walked around in another world.

We decided to stay just out of Cork so we could be closer to the Blarney castle. So glad we did! The hotel was in a perfect location and convenient. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and the rooms clean. The shower area was small but sufficient. Great views from our room.

Always like staying at the Oriel. It's my go-to hotel now in Cork. Staff always friendly, food good, rooms are perfect. Only slight issue is it's not in the city centre, but that's actually a positive for me :-)

My room was spacious and immaculate, and the common areas were attractive. The staff was uniformly friendly. A local bus provided easy, safe transportation to central Cork.

Nice,clean, quite hotel close to Cork city.

Very central and close to Tesco, bus routes, pubs and dining.The breakfast inclusion was a bonus, and very good

Hotel moderne, grande chambre trés confortable et bien équipée. Trés bon restaurant. Attention pour le prétit-déjeuner, il faut réserver le créneau horaire pour chaque jour du séjour plusieurs jours avant d'arriver à l'hotel, sinon le restaurant sera complet. Heureusement, il y a d'autres options toutes aussi bonnes et moins chère, sur la place du village à 2 min. de l'hôtel.

Outstanding hotel! Restaurant was excellent, breakfast was excellent! My wife and I loved the music that was presented in the Restaurant on Saturday Night.

Excellent hotel and staff. Room was well maintained and roomy, very clean. Breakfast was very good as well. Would highly recommend
