Staff was amazing. Very friendly and helpful. Parking was a mess. No spots left so had to pay $18 for 18 hours and download an app. Not fun. But at least it was close to hotel. Basic room. Big complaint is no air conditioning. But that was the same at our Alesund hotel so maybe standard for Norway? Don’t like it as room was about 72 degrees and I like it 68. You could open window but no screens. But view from room was spectacular!!! View of water fjord train station (5min walk) and mountains. Gorgeous. Would stay again.

Fantastic place right at the Sentrum/Downtown location - this is a classic hotel and very clean/efficient. Now the drawbacks - the bathroom sink is tiny - like in the aircraft! The shower - one of the European kinds with half-glass so the water will invariably make it out and make the entire bathroom floor wet! Other than these 2 minor issues, our stay was perfect. Parking right in front (free with limited # of parking slots) or paid parking of NOK 150 per night in the rear. THank you to Classic Hotel Staff for making a 3rd bed for our 12 year old - very nice! Instead of having to do it ourself and struggle with it. The breakfast buffet was terrific, as expected. Walkable to everything in Andalsnes - including 5 to 10 min to station, gondola ride, downtown with food trucks (lots of veg options! - food trucks only in weekend?). THere are some really cool small restaurants and cafes. Try out the Sødahl-Huset - has some great Norway soaps etc as well to purchase including chocoloate and their food bowls etc. look great (though we had already eaten at the food trucks). We only stayed for 1 day - all in all, as close to perfect as possible.

The hotel is modern and walkable to the port and railway station. Dinner and breakfast was great. The room and bathroom was clean. Bathroom was pretty small. Staff was very helpful. The seem understaffed for the busy season in July. Parking is lacking for late arrivals, and there is no free parking in Norway away from the hotel parking.

Väldigt fint hotell. Gymmet var lite av en besvikelse. De hade kunnat köpa in ny utrustning redan nu tänker jag. Söndagar är kanske sämsta dagen generellt att bo på hotell i Norge då allt stänger tidigt.

The Grand Hotel was one of my favorite hotels in Norway. The staff members were all friendly and welcoming. The facilities were clean and sufficient. The breakfast was wonderful, and I enjoyed a wide variety of hot and cold items. I am grateful for that! The hotel is very close to the train station and is located downtown, right beside the cable car. Everything is within walking distance, including a couple of food markets and a gas station. There is also a small gym in the hotel. I enjoyed the historical photos on each floor, telling the story of the hotel and its guests. I would absolutely stay here again!

Personal in der Lobby ist sehr freundlich, das Frühstückspersonal aber überhaupt nicht. Das Bad könnte eine Renovierung vertragen, Toilettenspülung und Waschbecken waren sehr wackelig. Ansonsten alles gut und wie erwartet.

The hotel is located in the center of Åndalsnes within walking distance to the spectacular Romsdalseggen Mountain Trail. We found the room small, especially the bathroom and sink. It was not grand. It’s ok, free parking, ok restaurant, good breakfast.

It’s a nice hotel - comfortable bed, the staff are lovely and the food is great. The views are lovely. The shower drove me insane. It was impossible to shower without completely saturating the entire bathroom then having to use my towels to dry it once I was done.

What a view from the room! Arrived by train. Short walk back down the tracks, take bridge over tracks, turn left one block, turn right one block. Very nice room and great breakfast. Nespresso coffee machine in room. Staff were so nice. Loved it!

O hotel é bem localizado e os funcionários são simpáticos e educados. O quarto não é muito grande, mas é confortável. O banheiro do quarto que fiquei era péssimo, super apertado e era preciso abrir o box para ter acesso ao vaso sanitário. O café da manhã estava bom.

Nice hotel in town, closed to train and bus stations. Be aware of the uphill walk if you drag you baggage. The room was nice too, with coffee maker. The sound insulations were not that good, you could hear noise from next room or above you. Breakfast buffet was good choices.

All I can say is, don’t stay here during summer. The staff were lovely; the room was clean; the location was a convenient five-minute walk from the train station (albeit all uphill). Unfortunately, there is ZERO moving air within the room. Not just no a/c; there is no fan or HVAC system anywhere in the room. The one window in the room opened a tiny crack, but not enough for any air flow (and no screen). The hotel also does not have any portable fans to offer. We stayed here for one unbearably hot night with poor sleep, and I was so thankful our stay was not longer. We did not expect air conditioning in Norway, but to not have any form of moving air or meaningful ventilation is an oversight in 2025 and the singular reason for the three stars.

Excellent location, amazing staff !! When we arrived at Oslo airport, my jetlagged bf put in the wrong hotel and we ended up 4 hours away!! The staff were so helpful and guided us with the quickest route and even called us back (when we got disconnected in a tunnel). Breakfast was delicous - very fresh lovely breakfast buffet. The staff went above and beyond - excellent service!! We highly recommend taking the Ramsdalen gondala which had breathtaking views!!

Beautiful location next to the Romsdaleggen gondola and hiking . Bathrooms were so small that shower door had to be open to sit on the toilet :) Great breakfast at the restaurant and delicious dinner .

Rom for 2 voksne og 1 barn - ikke stort men ok. Bra renhold. Badet litt lite og trangt men fremsto som relativt nyoppusset. Fin utsikt mot fjellene og pluss for at man får lufte vinduene helt selv. Kort veg til det meste, fint å kunne parkere bilen og nå både gondolen og flere spisesteder. Blide og hjelpsomme ansatte i resepsjonen. Virket som det var litt underbemannet på kjøkkenet da det var flere ting som gikk tomt ved frokost i kl. 8.30-9-tiden men ellers en grei frokost.

Grei kvalitet. Dobbeltseng må ha hel madrass. Fler knagger i rom og på bad. Koffertplass for lite, trengs to steder til koferter i dobbeltrom. Trimrom bør ha musikk og videomuligheter, samt kaldtvanndispenser tilgjengelig. Frokost manglet blant annet et større utvalg, særlig av frukt. Ble tomt for croissanter allerede klokka 0830, samme med eggehakk.

Very nice modern rooms. Convenient location - a 5 minute walk down to town and to the gondola to the top of the mountain. Breakfast was a bit lacking compared to other breakfasts on our trip to Norway. (Trays were empty and not really being refilled, and it was difficult to find the waitress to ask for something.) overall a good hotel for a one night stop over to see the area attractions.

Vi har vært på reise med 4 overnattinger. Absolutt dårligste sted/hotel. Dyreste overnatting av de 4 stedene vi lå. Dårligste middag på kvelden(elendig fiskesuppe, dyrt øl( 155 for 0,5 Dahl). Lite og dårlig utvalg frokost. Soverom veldig lite, baderom så lite at man måtte rygge ut.
