The room is stunning. There is a great view with a super spacious room. It was easy to get to the room from the elevator and using the app was a great benefit. It made getting in and out the room and hotel very easy. The staff at the desk was friendly and nice. There is no gym in this hotel. The gym is at a neighboring hotel a few blocks away.

Very easy to find. Very clean! Spacious with good furniture and comfortable beds and bedding. Good appliances, thoughtful separate rapid hot water pot for tea etc. Nice bathroom facilities and amenities. Lots of casual dining options, grocery and pharmacy very close. Noise from outside blocked with ear plugs. They supplied the plugs in the bedrooms. Slept great.

The hotel rooms are very spacious & comfy. The bed was so comfortable. I love that the room had a fridge, stove top & oven to allow you to cook instead of go out to eat all the time. There is a washer & dryer in the room. The workers are so nice & helpful. The only negative is that it doesn't have on-site parking. There is a small parking lot behind the hotel - cost is $30/night. You are in downtown LA so it's kinda ghetto with lots of homeless & smells like pee as you walk down the sidewalk. As nice as it is, I don't think I'd stay here again.

Excellent stay. I highly recommend Sonder. It had a apartment feel. Nice bed and all the amenities you could ask for. Full kitchen, fridge, and the climate control in-room was elite. Easy checkin with app and no need for waiting at front desk. All around superb.

The only reason I’m leaving a 4 star review is because the wifi was down for my entire stay. Having WiFi down for that long in this day is pretty unheard of and shocking that it took that long to get back up and running. It is an inconvenience to not have access to wifi or the tv when that is an amenity you pay for with the stay.

Pro - comfortable (it has everything you need incl washing machine and a dryer), clean, helpful staff, and a good location. Cons - no common place, no restaurant/ cafe, room service is not free and access code is tedious. Noise - I stayed for 7 days on the 2nd floor facing the main road. It was pretty loud bc of the traffic on the road. I asked to switch rooms but they made little effort to do so. Cleaning - I was disappointed that even if you stay for a week, they don't offer a full room service. You pay for it. Door access code - you get a 7-digit code to use every time you come in at the main door, the elevator and your room. It's a tedious process. Suggest reducing the 7-digits or find a simpler way for guest to access their rooms. I loved the neighborhood and there is a lot to see around.

It's essentially a studio apartment. Minimalist design, well appointed, dimmable lighting, rain shower. Amazing appliances - would be perfect for an extended stay. Easy to check-in/out & communicate w/staff thru app. Nearby paid parking lots. In downtown, so there are city sounds round the clock. They furnish ear plugs! The best part - there are so many plugs! You won't be searching behind things trying to find hidden outlets.

A beautiful and spacious apartment space in downtown Los Angeles! The building could be a bit noisy at times but nothing that prevented us from sleeping or being comfortable. The area itself is DTLA and you should use common sense when traveling around the area. We did not have any safety issues! The cleaning service was a bit confusing but overall we had a very pleasant stay.

The room itself was great and clean - liked the space and having a kitchen/fridge, etc. The bed was a bit soft, but still comfortable. We live in an urban area and are accustomed to noise, so it didn’t really bother us - except the early morning trash pickup. (Earplugs are provided.) An elevator was out of service during our stay and the other was slow. It’s really the area around the hotel that could be improved - it’s downtown so to be expected. We always felt safe though and hotel security near the door. All in all, a great room, but in a “colorful,” noisy, downtown location. Would stay again for a short stay.

I enjoyed the ambience the stay offered to my friend and I. Its close proximity to Grand Central Market and other notorious locations in DTLA provided much convenience without having to drive too far. However, the cleanliness could be improved as I found a poop stain in the toilet bowl before I used the toilet, leftover stains next to the sink, and a hair ball on the bathroom floor. My experience would have been much greater if I had not seen these my first night of my stay. Everything else aside from the cleanliness was great but not too sure if it is enough to let me visit again.

Front desk employees were always personable and welcoming. Felt safe with night staff and security code access. Housekeeping service staff were supportive and timely with requests. Room was ready and clean upon arrival.

It was great! I had a great experience with this hotel, Sonder The Craftsman. My room of this hotel was very clean. The staff was very nice and was pretty understandable, knowing that me and my friends came so late. I was able to check in with no problem at all. Like: the staff was very friendly I really like property & facilities Dislike: No dislike, everything was perfect. 10/10 I would like to recommended this hotel

First time staying here, liked the digital entrance. Walking into our room we noticed it hadn’t been cleaned, I was disappointed thinking it was the start of a lousy experience but I called customer service and within minutes we were moved to another room. This was greatly appreciated, the staff was super friendly and courteous. The area can be a little sketchy but it’s convenient for attending basketball game. The rooms are beautiful! We will be staying here again.

Shower pressure is awful The noise from outside and other rooms is horrendous, they do supply earplugs but it’s so so loud. Walls and ceilings are paper thin, can hear everything from all angles and directions. Area is also terrible, I know DTLA is known for being a bit rough but it was x100 worse than expected. We dreaded having to walk back to the hotel every day after getting the metro

Everything was mostly great. Only 2 downsides are no microwave and the bed. Bed advertised as queen but felt more like a double. I have a queen at home for reference. Also I hated the bedding. Sheets felt like plastic or something.

Amazing. I'm blown away by the fact that the place looks exactly as lovely in real life as it does in photos. The "chat with us for help" function was a bit spotty, but things worked out ultimately. The shower pressure was SO low that I couldn't wash my hair. But other than that? Perfection. A beautifully appointed studio, with a ton of natural light; secure front foyer; luggage storage. Amazing. I'm blown away by the fact that the place looks exactly as lovely in real life as it does in photos. The "chat with us for help" function was a bit spotty, but things worked out ultimately. The shower pressure was SO low that I couldn't wash my hair. But other than that? Perfection. A beautifully appointed studio, with a ton of natural light; secure front foyer; luggage storage. I loved it and will 100% stay here again when I'm in LA next.

I must tell you about this place called sonder. I first came across this when my wife and I went to Mexico City to go meet her family. I could not find a decent place to stay at and I ran across sonder. When we got to the Saunder location in Mexico City I was thoroughly impressed on how clean everything was, and how it's set up as a studio apartment with a bed, a refrigerator, a sink with dishes that are in the cabinets, a fully functional oven, so if you wanted to go to the grocery store you can actually cook as if you were at home. It doesn't even feel like you're even in a hotel. The only thing is that they do not have room service which is the only minus for me but I like to clean my own spaces so I don't have any issue with that. Sonder is a place that is a home away from home, me being a former over the road trucker I could tell you I've been to some very harsh environments in my time when it came to hotel stays in the middle of nowhere, but I could say this is hands down one of the best places that I've been to. I appreciate sonder for who they are and what they give to their customers. And I will be coming back every time to get another room through these folks. Thank you sonder for the great experience.

When I booked this stay, I knew what area I was going into and to be honest I was a bit apprehensive about my decision as I was going to receive my husband, my 4 year old daughter my sister and her husband and my 8 month old nephew. You cannot change downtown but you can control the hotel experience and we fell in love with Sonder. From the minute I arrived, which was late in the evening the security guard made me feel so safe, they even escorted us from the parking lot to the hotel, every day they made sure we were safe and they keep the hotel entrance clear of anyone that isn’t supposed to be there. The apartment was absolutely beautiful, the app experience is so easy to use and they respond immediately. They even brought the groceries to my door one of the mornings as I prepared for my family’s arrival. We are now hooked, and if I’m ever in LA again, I’ll be sure to stay at The Craftsman or maybe even try the other Sonder down the street. My whole family loved it and my 4 year old daughter asked us if that could be her new house. Haha.

My stay was fine aside from my oven not working. They said they were waiting on a part which means they knew it wasn't working before they put me in the room. This was inconvenient since I was there for a special occasion and planned on making a dinner for my mom's 70th birthday as opposed to spending $500 at a restaurant nearby. The Sonder did offer me 150 credit toward my next stay but who knows when and if that will ever happen. They should have taken it off the current stay in question. Learn from my mistake and have them credit your current stay when you have an issue. Also, parking is okay on weekdays in the back of the hotel, but during the weekend, the rear parking lot is packed and it's small.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location was great with plenty of restaurants to walk to. The room was spacious, modern, and clean. The best part was the staff! The front desk and security staff were friendly, fantastic, and very helpful. We look forward to our next stay.

The staff was amazing. So friendly, so helpful Originally did have a lower level room and found the street noise too much so transferred to a higher level floor and it was great. The rooms are very comfortable and have everything you need for longer stays (cooktop, oven, fridge, washer & dryer)

Great experience, great property. Check in at 4pm was not ideal and not a great experience as there was no leeway at all. Has its limitations, but overall great space and super clean and spacious for the price.

The hotel rooms are very spacious & comfy. The bed was so comfortable. I love that the room had a fridge, stove top & oven to allow you to cook instead of go out to eat all the time. There is a washer & dryer in the room. The workers are so nice & helpful. The only negative is that it doesn't have on-site parking. There is a small parking lot behind the hotel - cost is $30/night. You are in downtown LA so it's kinda ghetto with lots of homeless & smells like pee as you walk down the sidewalk. As nice as it is, I don't think I'd stay here again.

Room was really nice. I liked that they had security 24/7 and the only way to access the elevators was with a code given to you before check in. It's in a convenient location if you're planning on going to bmo stadium, which was my reason for choosing this hotel. I definitely wouldn't walk around the area alone though. It was also noisy at night, but thay didn't bother me.

Friendly staff, large room and comfy bed but that’s about it for the positives. Shower pressure is awful The noise from outside and other rooms is horrendous, they do supply earplugs but it’s so so loud. Walls and ceilings are paper thin, can hear everything from all angles and directions. Area is also terrible, I know DTLA is known for being a bit rough but it was x100 worse than expected. We dreaded having to walk back to the hotel every day after getting the metro

Inside, the hotel was clean, safe, spacious and the rooms were well equipped which made it a pleasant 3-week stay. Unfortunately, this part of DTLA is dirty and once you step outside you smell of urine everywhere. Lot of homeless people around. Sad state of the city! Lots of walkable things to see within 30 mins. Good dining options nearby as well. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Plenty of affordable parking options nearby. The garage at 835 South Hill street was a very clean and safe covered lot 5 mins walk away. We were able to park there for a monthly price of just $200 purchased through a 3rd party app.

Loved the hotel room! 12th floor is the top level and feels very clean, spacious, and super comfy. Interior feels modern industrial and is a nice slice of heaven. The area outside the hotel is a bit sketchy, but that's to be expected when you're like four blocks from Skid Row.

Pro - comfortable (it has everything you need incl washing machine and a dryer), clean, helpful staff, and a good location. Cons - no common place, no restaurant/ cafe, room service is not free and access code is tedious. Noise - I stayed for 7 days on the 2nd floor facing the main road. It was pretty loud bc of the traffic on the road. I asked to switch rooms but they made little effort to do so. Cleaning - I was disappointed that even if you stay for a week, they don't offer a full room service. You pay for it. Door access code - you get a 7-digit code to use every time you come in at the main door, the elevator and your room. It's a tedious process. Suggest reducing the 7-digits or find a simpler way for guest to access their rooms. I loved the neighborhood and there is a lot to see around.

This hotel was an amazing choice for those that like air bnbs but like to have the option of staff available if needed. The room was a beautiful studio apartment equipped with a washer and dryer, dishwasher and stove and refrigerator. We were easily able to ask for additional towels and the manger helped us with early check in. Everything about the hotel was great. The one flaw is its location. It is not in a "nice" neighborhood. I was told by multiple locals to not walk around that neighborhood in the evening and seen homeless people and someone with wounds on his face walking out of a bakery. So be aware.
