The motel has been recently remodeled complete with a name change. Staff was very attentive and the breakfast was exceptional. It is located on the east side of town close to parks and restaurants. It is basic but offers good value. I would stay here again.

Nice property, staff was very accommodating when we unexpectedly had to bring our pets along. Nice breakfast with several options, including about 4 difference milk choices. Gentleman in the breakfast room was wonderful.

Only negative was it’s not well insulated so sound travels. Very loud. The staff was super friendly and helpful, and the place is spotless. I’d stay here again.

We got the one room at the hotel that reeked of stale cigarette smoke. I informed the person at the front desk of it immediately, and she said we were the third group that had complained about that. We were not offered a different room, but the desk attendant did offer us a "fan". When she turned it on, I noticed it was not a fan, but an ozone machine. I told her to turn it off immediately because it could kill us. We stayed the night, but I woke up feeling very sick the next morning. We went hiking, and I felt much better as the day went on. When we got back to the hotel, the manager was working, and we informed him we were going to stay somewhere else and needed to be refunded for all three nights we had booked. He said he would refund us for the night we didn't stay (the next night), but would have to discuss refunding the other two with the owner (we were being charged for that night too because we didn't check out by checkout time). I called several days later, and the manager stated we would be refunded in 7-10 days. After ten business days, I called again because we hadn't been refunded. The manager said they needed another ten days to refund us, which is ridiculous! I contacted Hotels.com, and they reached out to the property. We were told our refund was being processed immediately, but, instead, Ocean Star charged us a second time, and then refunded that purchase immediately. We had to reach out to Hotels.com a week later to get the matter fully resolved. 0/10
