Homewood Suites By Hilton Hoover Birmingham

I was traveling with my medical needs son for specialty appointments. I checked in and the staff was very friendly. My son and I put all of our stuff on a luggage cart and go to our room on the 6th floor. When I opened the door, someone else’s luggage and property was on the table in the kitchen area. We go back downstairs to inform them that they gave us someone else’s room. They apologized and gave us a room on the 2nd floor. We walked in to the new room and I stepped in what I really hope was chocolate icing. Upon further inspection there were puddles of water and dirty spots all over the floor, even clipped nails. The shower looked as though it has debris in it and there was obvious dirt/trash along the wall by the door where it hadn’t been properly swept. Upon calling downstairs, an employee (so very kind - deserves employee of the year I wish I caught her name) came up with new keys for another room on the 6th floor. No obvious dirt on the floor but there were spots everywhere. Housekeeping needs some training with mopping. The shower was cleaner but still needed a good scrubbing. The bed was not super comfy but it did the job. The AC unit was extremely loud every time that it kicked on. The hotel definitely has some kinks it needs to work out. The breakfast buffet was delicious. The area was clean and the food was fresh. The location is great with lots of dinner options within walking distance. I would be willing to give a second chance.

Brand new hotel, and it was the best one I've stayed in, in a while. Extremely clean and bed was super comfortable. Would absolutely recommend and would stay here again.
