A very pleasant experience. The cottage was extremely comfortable and the staff were a joy. The evening meal was great (leave room, the portions are large!) and the breakfast delicious with local produce being used.

Booked the attached cottage which was perfect for our party of five. Enjoyed our evening dinner in the pub with some local Alnwick beer. We were made to feel very welcome. Perfect point to stop if traveling to and from Scotland.

We stayed overnight in the very spacious two bedroom cottage which was extremely comfortable and made for a very relaxing stopover, but would also be ideal for a longer stay. We ate in the restaurant which had a friendly and welcoming atmosphere and the food was exceptionally good.

Although we were just meeting friends for an overnight stay before their departure from Edinburgh for Australia it became a memorable reunion not least because of the warm welcome at the Bluebell. We were offered, as two couples obviously together, the use of the adjoining cottage suite and this was much appreciated.Similarly appropriate seating in the restaurant together with well kept real ale excellent food and first class breakfast all contributed to a most enjoyable stay.
Although we were just meeting friends for an overnight stay before their departure from Edinburgh for Australia it became a memorable reunion not least because of the warm welcome at the Bluebell. Thank you all at Bluebell Inn for making our stay so lovely. Had our evening meals in the Inn, very welcoming and lovely service. Food very enjoyable. Cottage very cosy and comfortable with a lovely log fire, very comfortable beds with both rooms en-suite. Couldn’t have hoped for better. Would definitely go there again.

Easy check in when we arrived at 8.30pm. Found dirty bed linen on landing that hadn’t been removed so reported it to hotel and they came and cleared it. Rather disappointed with kitchen. I know we were only staying one night but dishwasher wouldn’t open right down as hit against door frame. No cutlery compartment in dishwasher either. In two cupboards in kitchen there were tins of paint and dirty towels stuffed in one and a dirty towel stuffed in another. The fridge had several bits missing . No bottom shelf over vegetable compartment and storage compartments iN door were missing apart from bottom one. The fact it cost us 200 to stay one night and find it like this was rather shocking. Will not be staying there again. I have photo evidence proof of these things in the kitchen if required

Can’t believe got a cottage including breakfast, (which was amazing) for the price .. most hotels charge that just for a room!! Was a beautiful area, fantastic cottage and very comfy beds..very spacious.. would have happily stayed longer..amazing...

Made a last-minute decision to get away for a short break - this is the second time we've stayed this year as we fell in love on the first trip. Not only is the cottage perfect with 2 large bedrooms (can sleep 5), both ensuite, it's in a great location to explore Northumberland and the Borders. It's a quick trip over to Bamburgh if you want sand dunes and waves, there's a Dark Sky Certified National Park just down the road, and more. We lit the fire and unplugged, and it was perfect.

Easy check in when we arrived at 8.30pm. Found dirty bed linen on landing that hadn’t been removed so reported it to hotel and they came and cleared it. Rather disappointed with kitchen. I know we were only staying one night but dishwasher wouldn’t open right down as hit against door frame. No cutlery compartment in dishwasher either. In two cupboards in kitchen there were tins of paint and dirty towels stuffed in one and a dirty towel stuffed in another. The fridge had several bits missing . No bottom shelf over vegetable compartment and storage compartments iN door were missing apart from bottom one. The fact it cost us 200 to stay one night and find it like this was rather shocking. Will not be staying there again. I have photo evidence proof of these things in the kitchen if required
