Hotel was beautiful, and in a great location. The only two things that weren't ideal were that: 1) Even as a guest of the hotel, you still have to pay for one of the beach loungers. As a guest, there is a 50% discount on those chairs, but they're not fully included within the price of the hotel stay, which wasn't clear in the listing when I booked. 2) At the time of my stay (June 2024), there was a sewage odor in the air at the hotel that didn't exist on the beach or any of the great restaurants that were a 5-15 minute walk away, so it seemed concentrated to the hotel's premises. Could have been a temporary plumbing issue or something that's been since resolved, but it wasn't that pleasant during my stay.

Everything was very nice. It was brand new. Still some construction going on. Gym equipment wasn’t in yet and the boutique was not completed.

Clean, fresh, new. Strong shower. Comfortable beds. Excellent breakfast. Outstanding staff across the board. Had a nice dinner on the rooftop. Beach area with comfortable chair rental and nice long walks. Gorgeous pool. Great location not far but far enough from town. Only change I would suggest: In our room there was an unused space with a worn couch/extra bed. Needs to be freshened up and rethink the space.

Be aware this property allows children’s birthday parties at the pool for locals. We arrived a day late due to ferry cancellation and only had one full day at the property. We cancelled an all day excursion so we could enjoy the facilities only to be confronted with an 8 year old local birthday party with 15 or so 6-8 year olds running around screaming and chasing each other . It would have been helpful if we were made aware of this upon arrival and we would have rearranged our schedule. But when you are spending $300/night and paid for a day/night we couldn’t use it was extremely frustrating and disappointing . There were signs around the pool that said no toys in the pool so as not to disturb swimmers but the kids were throwing balls around and none of the parents or staff stopped them . At one point a little boy pulled his pants down and mooned everyone . Also be aware beach lounge chairs are not included as the beach is public. The front 3 rows are reserved for hotel guests but unlike other areas of Greece where you can spend money on food and get the beds for free, this is not the case here. You pay for the lounge chairs separate from any food purchase .

Sundunes is in the quite end of plaka beach just behind the sand dunes. A five minute walk to the local taverna's and resturants. We were looking for a hotel with some vibe very close to the beach. From the website that advertises a pool bar and a restaurant it looked ideal. We were somewhat disappointed to find the pool bar shut and emptied and the boutique just had a couple of tables in it with some stored luggage. What was open was the caffeteria complete with caffeteria style funiture - not what we had expected. Needless to say most of our time was spent on the beach on sunbeds which we had to pay for or further up the beach which has a lot more vibe. This newly built hotel was lovely and the rooms quiet and well appointed but for us is wasn't really what was advertised. I would say it was fine for families but not really what we were looking for. If you are averse to noise,it is directly under the flight path to Naxos airport with six to eight landings a day starting at seven in the morning and finishing at eight, Only very small prop planes land here so not massive Jet noise so it didn't really bother us. Also you have to realise it is at the nudist end of the beach so you can't be a prude. It was such a shame because the staff were brilliant the hotel lovely and clean and the pool amazing - it just felt that the hotel wasn't fully open after completion. Had the amazing pool bar been open and living up to expectations we would have spent more time there.

Great beachfront hotel with great breakfast, pool area and beach access. Many other dining options within walking distance. The property seemed very new. The staff were incredibly responsive and helpful. Helped with rental car to explore the island and easy to access rest of island with this as a home base. Be aware that there are several clothing optional beaches on Naxos.

Staff including Nasos was beyond pleasant. Fabulous Beach. I would like to give them much credit for turning off the beach music when I asked. Excellent lounge chairs but umbrellas only cover one lounge at a time, so two umbrellas are necessary. Beach was relatively quiet with her music. Sun beds are between 10 and 30 Euros. Tv inferior. Only one good restaurant within walking distance. Beds are inferior. TVs are inferior. Buffet was mediocre, and that is being generous. Overpriced comparatively to other resorts we've stayed at.

A brand new hotel only steps from beautiful Plaka Beach. For us, breakfast here was a highlight and the hotel and staff should feel rightly proud. Real care had been taken over the display with lots of local produce, freshly squeezed juice and choice of made-to-order coffee. Reception staff were always on hand and helped with restaurant recommendations and reservations both in Naxos and locally (there's plenty in walking distance). There's a lovely pool area with views of the surrounding rocky hills but we spent most of our time on the beach sun beds. The guys there brought drinks down from the hotel (and food if you wanted). When we visited the landscaping was yet to be completed but I imagine it will look lively when finished ready for next season. Our partial sea view room had a large balcony, and perhaps a couple of sun beds would be a good addition. Also a full length mirror could be added, otherwise our room for 3 had everything we needed including nespresso machine, lovely toiletries and complimentary water each day.

Die zimmer sind gross, sehr elegant und gemütlich. Das Design ist sehr gut gewählt mit der Trennwand zum Bad und dem sep. Toilettenraum. Alles Top, ausser dem Zimmerservice. Shampoo, Seife, Bodylotion, Kaffeekapslen wurden nicht täglich aufgefüllt, wir mussten an der Reception danach fragen. Zudem verschwand ein Weinglas nach dem 1. Tag, sehr komisch. Die Strandliegen, welche exakt dieselben sind wie am Hotel Pool, kosten 25-35 pro Tag. Dies könnte inkl. Sein für die Zimmerpreise. Darum 1 Stern Abzug

Sundunes was amazing! The location couldn’t have been better—super close to tons of restaurants, beach clubs, and just a quick drive to town. The property was quiet, clean, and relaxing. The staff were all so friendly and helpful, and the breakfast every morning was delicious. The rooftop restaurant? Hands down some of the best food I had the whole trip—plus the views were unreal. Totally recommend staying here. Can’t wait to come back!

The new villa was perfect for my family of five. We had plenty of space and room for more. The pool and facilities were very clean and the staff was very attentive. The breakfast food was very good and very much appreciated. Walkable to the beach and restaurants and small market. Exactly what was needed. This is outside of the Town of Naxos so the crowds and tourists are far enough away but only a 15 minute drive.

The new villa was perfect for us. We had plenty of space and room for more. The pool and facilities were very clean and the staff was very attentive. The breakfast food was very good and very much appreciated. Walkable to the beach and restaurants and small market. Exactly what was needed. This is outside of the Town of Naxos so the crowds and tourists are far enough away but only a 15 minute drive.

Die Hotel Anlage ist sehr sauber und schön bepflanzt. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und bemüht alle Wünsche zu erfüllen! Die Sonnenliegen und der Pool sind traumhaft! Plaka Beach hat uns am Besten gefallen, deshalb liegt das Hotel am perfekten Ort! Wenn ich was verbessern dürfte dann wären es der angrenzende Bereich ans Hotel, zumindest mit Bepflanzung sodass man nicht unbedingt auf diesen trostlosen Bereich schauen muss! Die Eier am Frühstücksbuffet waren immer kalt, aber auf Wunsch hat man neue frisch gebratene bekommen!

Sundunes is in the quite end of plaka beach just behind the sand dunes. A five minute walk to the local taverna's and resturants. We were looking for a hotel with some vibe very close to the beach. From the website that advertises a pool bar and a restaurant it looked ideal. We were somewhat disappointed to find the pool bar shut and emptied and the boutique just had a couple of tables in it with some stored luggage. What was open was the caffeteria complete with caffeteria style funiture - not what we had expected. Needless to say most of our time was spent on the beach on sunbeds which we had to pay for or further up the beach which has a lot more vibe. This newly built hotel was lovely and the rooms quiet and well appointed but for us is wasn't really what was advertised. I would say it was fine for families but not really what we were looking for. If you are averse to noise,it is directly under the flight path to Naxos airport with six to eight landings a day starting at seven in the morning and finishing at eight, Only very small prop planes land here so not massive Jet noise so it didn't really bother us. Also you have to realise it is at the nudist end of the beach so you can't be a prude. It was such a shame because the staff were brilliant the hotel lovely and clean and the pool amazing - it just felt that the hotel wasn't fully open after completion. Had the amazing pool bar been open and living up to expectations we would have spent more time there.

Wonderful hotel, quiet location, bus to the city right outside the hotel. The whole crew is extremely friendly, helpful and courteous. They are the perfect hosts. The complex is very clean and decorated in a modern Greek style. The rooms are spacious, bright and offer everything you need. The beach is fantastic with very comfortable loungers, and the service there is also extremely friendly. Very good, large selection of restaurants just a few minutes' walk from the hotel. We felt very comfortable and will definitely go again.

Sundunes hotel feels fresh, new, and is enhanced by the caring staff. The modern rooms are spacious and include a living area ( w futon sofa) and a nice patio. It’s the perfect place for families and single travelers with a beautiful pool and beach within walking distance. What sets this reasonably priced hotel apart, however, is the constant care and friendliness of the staff. I would definitely recommend Sundunes and wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.

Das Hightlight vom Sundunes ist eindeutig der Pool. Der ist wirklich sehr schön, die Liegen sind sehr bequem und wir fanden immer einen Platz. Wir hatten ein Deluxe Zimmer im hinteren Bereich des Hotels. Das Zimmer ist schön und neuwertig. Die Dusche ist riesengross, dafür die Toilette etwas klein geraten. Die Klimaanlage ist sehr gut platziert. Die Betten waren etwas hart für meinen Geschmack aber das ist ja für jeden anders. Das Sofabett für unseren Sohn war leider sehr hart. Ich hätte da nicht schlafen können. Das Frühstück ist im Aussenbereich am Pool. Das Buffet ist überschaubar aber gut. Auf den Tischen steht nichts, was aber wahrscheinlich aufgrund des Windes so ist. Es hätte Tischsets oder so ziemlich sicher weggeblasen. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und immer mit einem Lächeln unterwegs. Sehr empfehlenswertes Hotel.

Our stay at Sundunes was lovely! Location is really convenient, it’s very walkable to restaurants in Plaka. Our accommodations were great, though there was some confusion for the type of room we booked (pay attention to the fine details) they figured out a plan for us. Staff was kind. Family friendly, just one heads up, the beach section connected to the hotel is in the more nude beach area of the beach, just a heads up 😊

Staff including Nasos was beyond pleasant. Fabulous Beach. I would like to give them much credit for turning off the beach music when I asked. Excellent lounge chairs but umbrellas only cover one lounge at a time, so two umbrellas are necessary. Beach was relatively quiet with her music. Sun beds are between 10 and 30 Euros. Tv inferior. Only one good restaurant within walking distance. Beds are inferior. TVs are inferior. Buffet was mediocre, and that is being generous. Overpriced comparatively to other resorts we've stayed at.

Sundunes was amazing! The location couldn’t have been better—super close to tons of restaurants, beach clubs, and just a quick drive to town. The property was quiet, clean, and relaxing. Great beachfront hotel with great breakfast, pool area and beach access. Many other dining options within walking distance. The property seemed very new. The staff were incredibly responsive and helpful. Helped with rental car to explore the island and easy to access rest of island with this as a home base. Be aware that there are several clothing optional beaches on Naxos.

The staff were amazing, the Lady at the reception was so nice and polite. George who also works at the front desk and his brother were so helpful and always made sure everything was going well. Great staff. Bartender brought us amazing drinks and helped us by telling us where to go at nighttime/restaurants that where good. Definitely coming back

Sundunes is in the quite end of plaka beach just behind the sand dunes. A five minute walk to the local taverna's and resturants. We were looking for a hotel with some vibe very close to the beach. From the website that advertises a pool bar and a restaurant it looked ideal. We were somewhat disappointed to find the pool bar shut and emptied and the boutique just had a couple of tables in it with some stored luggage. What was open was the caffeteria complete with caffeteria style funiture - not what we had expected. Needless to say most of our time was spent on the beach on sunbeds which we had to pay for or further up the beach which has a lot more vibe. This newly built hotel was lovely and the rooms quiet and well appointed but for us is wasn't really what was advertised. I would say it was fine for families but not really what we were looking for. If you are averse to noise,it is directly under the flight path to Naxos airport with six to eight landings a day starting at seven in the morning and finishing at eight, Only very small prop planes land here so not massive Jet noise so it didn't really bother us. Also you have to realise it is at the nudist end of the beach so you can't be a prude. It was such a shame because the staff were brilliant the hotel lovely and clean and the pool amazing - it just felt that the hotel wasn't fully open after completion. Had the amazing pool bar been open and living up to expectations we would have spent more time there.

Great beachfront hotel with great breakfast, pool area and beach access. Many other dining options within walking distance. The property seemed very new. The staff were incredibly responsive and helpful. Helped with rental car to explore the island and easy to access rest of island with this as a home base. Be aware that there are several clothing optional beaches on Naxos.

Wonderful hotel, quiet location, bus to the city right outside the hotel. The whole crew is extremely friendly, helpful and courteous. They are the perfect hosts. The complex is very clean and decorated in a modern Greek style. The rooms are spacious, bright and offer everything you need. The beach is fantastic with very comfortable loungers, and the service there is also extremely friendly. Very good, large selection of restaurants just a few minutes' walk from the hotel. We felt very comfortable and will definitely go again.

This is a beautiful hotel, reasonably priced on a fantastic bit of coastline. The staff are super friendly and both the beach and pool are gorgeous. There are lovely Greek restaurants nearby. We hired a car to see other beaches

Sundunes was amazing! The location couldn’t have been better—super close to tons of restaurants, beach clubs, and just a quick drive to town. The property was quiet, clean, and relaxing. The staff were all so friendly and helpful, and the breakfast every morning was delicious. The rooftop restaurant? Hands down some of the best food I had the whole trip—plus the views were unreal. Totally recommend staying here. Can’t wait to come back!

Clean, fresh, new. Strong shower. Comfortable beds. Excellent breakfast. Outstanding staff across the board. Had a nice dinner on the rooftop. Beach area with comfortable chair rental and nice long walks. Gorgeous pool. Great location not far but far enough from town. Only change I would suggest: In our room there was an unused space with a worn couch/extra bed. Needs to be freshened up and rethink the space.

We are somewhat "seasoned" travelers. Can't drink the tap water which is just fine. However after 1 bottle/person you have to pay for them; annoying: raise the room rate and provide water like the others Hotels we stayed in Greece. The breakfast buffet is in a small room. Nice variety and good (not great). However because of the small area you fell that you're on the road in the US eating a continental breakfast: people on top of one another and self serving. The Hotel is listed as a 4.7/5. It's more like a 4.3-4.4

Die Hotel Anlage ist sehr sauber und schön bepflanzt. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und bemüht alle Wünsche zu erfüllen! Die Sonnenliegen und der Pool sind traumhaft! Plaka Beach hat uns am Besten gefallen, deshalb liegt das Hotel am perfekten Ort! Wenn ich was verbessern dürfte dann wären es der angrenzende Bereich ans Hotel, zumindest mit Bepflanzung sodass man nicht unbedingt auf diesen trostlosen Bereich schauen muss! Die Eier am Frühstücksbuffet waren immer kalt, aber auf Wunsch hat man neue frisch gebratene bekommen!

We were working from Sundunes and it was a great hotel for this. Pretty decent wifi with big rooms and right by the beach for a quick dip before starting work. Great location to a lovely beach with unreal sunsets. Finally the front desk staff were all lovely and friendly - special shout out to Justice! However, there are a few things that let this hotel down: 1. The breakfast: this is the worst buffet we’ve had the whole 2.5 weeks with been in Greece. Other hotels let you choose your eggs and cook them fresh - a very nice touch. Breakfast is also so crowded, and not enough seating in the shade. Weren’t made to feel very welcome in the mornings either. 2. Watch out: I found it pretty funny how the hotel makes out they are doing you a discount on the sunbeds on the beach in front of their hotel when they are actually way more expensive then anywhere else we asked. We went a few minutes up the beach and got the same beds for €25 with very attentive service. To be fair on them, they don’t own the beds on the beach, but either way this is a bad look and they should give you options. The same goes for renting a scooter. This is €60 a day from the hotel or you can walk 5 mins up the road and pay €30 a day from Mikes Bikes. I understand they need to make a bit of money for the service, but double is just greedy and again a bad look for the hotel. This started things off on a bad note. Overall this a good hotel, that could be better. Hope the feedback is helpful!

Staff including Nasos was beyond pleasant. Fabulous Beach. I would like to give them much credit for turning off the beach music when I asked. Excellent lounge chairs but umbrellas only cover one lounge at a time, so two umbrellas are necessary. Beach was relatively quiet with her music. Sun beds are between 10 and 30 Euros. Tv inferior. Only one good restaurant within walking distance. Beds are inferior. TVs are inferior. Buffet was mediocre, and that is being generous. Overpriced comparatively to other resorts we've stayed at.

The property is new and beautiful. I looked at several islands for a hotel with easy access to the beach. This was very easy. The breakfast was also good. A big variety of choices. The pool area was great. The concierge desk was very helpful with getting safe taxi service

A brand new hotel only steps from beautiful Plaka Beach. For us, breakfast here was a highlight and the hotel and staff should feel rightly proud. Real care had been taken over the display with lots of local produce, freshly squeezed juice and choice of made-to-order coffee. Reception staff were always on hand and helped with restaurant recommendations and reservations both in Naxos and locally (there's plenty in walking distance). There's a lovely pool area with views of the surrounding rocky hills but we spent most of our time on the beach sun beds. The guys there brought drinks down from the hotel (and food if you wanted). When we visited the landscaping was yet to be completed but I imagine it will look lively when finished ready for next season. Our partial sea view room had a large balcony, and perhaps a couple of sun beds would be a good addition. Also a full length mirror could be added, otherwise our room for 3 had everything we needed including nespresso machine, lovely toiletries and complimentary water each day.

A little dissapointed with this one. Pool is a little abandoned with no trees, music, bar so lacks atmosphere. Would be fine but the beach charge 160 euro for a family of 4 so more than 800 euro for a 5 day stay. Service at breakfast and lunch very cold. You have to get your own cutlery and napkins it feels more like a canteen. Poor food selection at breakfast mostly dedicated to cakes and pizza? Staff on reception are friendly and helpful. The area is really nice / beach and restaurants but hotel was dissapointing for the money.

Our stay at Sundunes was simply exceptional and one that we’ll remember for a long time. From the moment we arrived until the day we reluctantly left, every member of the team made us feel genuinely welcome. The hotel itself is beautiful, peaceful and perfectly located, with stunning surroundings, immaculate rooms and a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. What really sets Sundunes apart, however, is its people. We cannot thank enough the kindness, professionalism and the genuine care showed throughout our stay.
