The motel's amenities, while otherwise modest, are very high-tech (e.g., an electronic vanity mirror that is not only self-illuminating but can also defog itself. It also happens to be adjacent to a very nice family-friendly tavern with very welcoming staff, good food for takeout, and excellent choices in local craft beers. It's called the West Passage Brewing Company.

Stayed here for our anniversary and found the room clean & updated. Plenty of parking, good location and a great brew restaurant next door. You get a 10% discount to the restaurant. We enjoyed breakfast, the coffee was nice & strong & the service fast & friendly. The king bed was very comfy, the bathroom with shower was small but very clean, the shower walls are so cool and the light/fan in the bathroom gives you an option to have a black light (purple), on our next visit I would book the king suite to have the jacuzzi tub!

Manager was very friendly. Room was okay. Recently renovated. Bathroom was not clean and room had overpowering scent. Bed was comfortable. And the manager was able to move bookings around so I could stay in the same room both nights which was convenient. The service was great, I just think the room was a little pricey for what it ended up being. And the bathroom not being super clean was a bit of a turn off for me.

I feel bad giving a crappy review but I’m really upset. I prepaid a room through hotels.com to save $10 which I will never do again. The management was initially very nice. My room (104) was clean but had fleas (or some other small black bugs) in the bathtub stall and on the walls near the beds. I showed this to the manager and she said they’ve been doing treatments for this. She did give me a new room in the neighboring building (117). Although the new room appeared clean, my daughter and I decided we were not comfortable staying. I work with people who have compromised health and take care of my mom on hospice. I cannot risk bringing bugs into my home or someone else’s home. I had to drive home over 2 hours away and then had to drive another 2 hours back early the next morning to attend a college tour. I requested a refund and was denied. I contacted the booking agent, hotels.com, who contacted the manager. They were also told that a refund would not be released. I finally had to call my credit card company to dispute the charge. In addition to the extra 4+ hours of driving, I spent over an hour on the phone dealing with this. I work 3 jobs and take care of my mother. This was very time consuming and unnecessary.

Check in was easy and the stay itself was great and room was very clean. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the following the cleaning solution they used to clean the room was so strong it gave us headaches and it took a while to go away. The bed just had the coverlet and a sheet, it would have been nice to have a blanket as well, and a few extra pillows - if you come here bring your own pillow! Otherwise we'd recommend.

So the owners/managers were super-nice. But know this is a motel with outside access to each room like a cheap motel so you have to keep your blinds fully shut if you don’t want people looking in and to block our bright streetlights just outside your window. And the floors looked clean but if you walked barefoot for even a few minutes the soles of your feet were dark brown from dirt! The room were large and comfortable but no hairdryers or extra blankets and only one hanger. Brewery at the front had a great breakfast-that the manager had 10% off coupons for. I’d just expect a cheaper price for a motel set up with no extra amenities.

The staff member who checked me in was very kind and helpful. I would have given a higher score for the room but there were no blankets or comforters, just a sheet and a light bedspread. It was quite chilly. Turning on the heat would be wasteful as it's summer. An extra pillow would have been appreciated too, as there were three between two people. The room itself was also not well soundproofed and traffic noise from the road was quite noisy. Otherwise, the rooms are clean, the bed was very comfortable,and the shower was nice and hot!

Very pleasant surprise. The rooms are large, brand new, simple and clean. The property is immaculate. Check-in was pleasant and quick. Great location. Large plasma tv (thanful for that as its football season!) Charging ports in bed stand lights. Large window with great privacy shade. Will definitely return.

Rooms were newly renovated, very clean and up to date. Comfprtable bed, lhardwood floors, wireless and TV work fine! Close to lovely village, across the road from a historic landmark, some traffic but still the room was quiet. Brewery/restaurant right next door. No coffee/tea kettle in room or in lobby, but that's my only (minor) comment!

One of the beds in our room had a very loud spring noise anytime you moved. Also, there's a flood light that basically was shining in the room all night (that was not blocked by the black out curtain). but other than that, it was a perfect place to stay!

After showing one of the owners damage on a window sill, he proceeded to yell at me in front of my children. I offered to pay for what happened and he came up with the number $2,500. Spackle and paint would have been sufficient. The window sill is coated in thick spackle already so, take that for what you will. He called his handy man who stated "all it needs it spackle and paint." I recorded the call as he did this in the room in front of us. I unfortunately called the police because he was out of control. The officer and I spoke in the room. His body cam took record of it. Even he said spackle and paint. The owner fraudulently charged a $2,500 damages fee without an estimate, receipt, phone call--nothing. I called to kindly ask him to refund and I'd pay the amount it actually cost. He simply yelled on the phone and said he was taking me to court. No sense was made. I take accountability for the damage and understand the upset. Having a man yell at me several times in front of my kids and then make charges to my card is poor business practice.

Only two ironing boards and irons for sixteen rooms. We borrowed one and the owner came into our room when we were gone and took it back before we got a chance to use it. We also asked him not to come in our room or send housekeeping staff when we checked in because we were only staying two nights. The TV situation was also incredibly confusing. Two different remotes, one to turn it on and change the volume, and the other to change the channel. There weren't any directions about this i figured it out two hours before checking out.

Location was very nice and quiet. The condition of the hotel was like new. The staff which I can only assume was the owner, was super nice. My room was extremely clean, and like new. The bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever been on. If I’m ever back in the area this is where I’ll stay!

I haven't stayed in a Motel in many many years, because of my memories of them not being nice places. Well, this place changed all that! This is a NICE MOTEL, and I highly recommend this place. Also, Raj at the front desk was very helpful and provided recommendations of where to eat. Great place, and excellent service! One more thing- I also enjoyed having a parking spot available just outside the room!

Had a great stay at the Blue Beach and will certainly be back. The room was smallish but worked for our family of 4. Nice to have both a mini fridge/freezer and microwave. The brewery next-door had decent food and drink options which was nice. Staff was friendly and helpful and its location made it easy to get everywhere we wanted quick and easy.

Location was very nice and quiet. The condition of the hotel was like new. The staff which I can only assume was the owner, was super nice. My room was extremely clean, and like new. The bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever been on. If I’m ever back in the area this is where I’ll stay!

It also happens to be adjacent to a very nice family-friendly tavern with very welcoming staff, good food for takeout, and excellent choices in local craft beers. It's called the West Passage Brewing Company.

Stayed here for our anniversary and found the room clean & updated. Plenty of parking, good location and a great brew restaurant next door. You get a 10% discount to the restaurant. We enjoyed breakfast, the coffee was nice & strong & the service fast & friendly. The king bed was very comfy, the bathroom with shower was small but very clean, the shower walls are so cool and the light/fan in the bathroom gives you an option to have a black light (purple), on our next visit I would book the king suite to have the jacuzzi tub!

You can tell the owners care about the property. The mirror is anti fog and has a light and they do a good job maintaining the exterior and the rooms. Mine had a nice desk area. The led lighting under the roof was a nice touch. Theres a brewery and srestaurant very close by.

Very friendy and accomodating staff, recently renovated rooms. Very clean rooms and comfortable beds/pillows. Convenient parking in front of rooms. Quiet at night. Onsite brewery was amazing for drinks and food. Convenient to downtown Wickford which is beautiful and fun to explore.

Don’t let the name fool you. This hotel is not at or near the beach. It is along a busy and noisy road, so bring ear plugs. The AC unit was also crazy loud when it kicked on (think vacuum cleaner level) that even ear plugs didn’t help. Throw in the extremely bright “spotlight” level lights just outside the window that lit up the room despite the blinds and I got very little sleep. The uncomfortable mattress didn’t help. The sheets had some spots too so cleanliness could’ve been better. The bathroom is so tiny that the door scrapes the toilet as you close it, and you must close it because the toilet paper is behind that door.

Excellent staff -very helpful, patient and kind. Owner is currently upgrading rooms and our room still needed fixes (toilet paper holding not attached to wall, door hitting toilet as you close the door etc). Location is extremely convenient to Newport, Jamestown and Wickford.
