This is wonderful location. It is away from the busy areas with a 5 minute walk to the beach. The property was beautiful and the hosts were amazing.

An Unforgettable Stay in Puerto Viejo I recently had the pleasure of staying at this exceptional hotel in Playa Grande, Puerto Viejo, and I simply cannot find the words to express how amazing my experience was. Hospitality Beyond Compare Sebastian, the owner, and his entire staff are nothing short of incredible. The level of care, attention, and warmth they provide is truly unmatched. From the moment I arrived, I felt genuinely welcomed and valued. Every interaction with the team reflected a genuine commitment to making my stay unforgettable. Their hospitality is on another level—I have zero words that do it justice. Perfect Location & Amenities The hotel’s location is incredibly convenient, situated within walking distance of Playa Grande beach. It’s the perfect spot for easy access to the beach without needing transportation. Outstanding Breakfast & Dietary Accommodations The breakfast was fantastic! But what really stood out was how seriously Sebastian and his team took my food allergies. They were extremely careful and thoughtful about cross-contamination, ensuring every meal was safe and delicious. It’s rare to find that level of attentiveness to dietary needs, and it made all the difference. Final Verdict I 110% recommend this place with zero hesitation. This hotel is a gem, and I absolutely cannot wait to return. If you’re looking for a destination with incredible hospitality, comfort, and genuine care, look no further. KAÑIK is magical! Sebastian, Javier and crew made our experience beyond amazing. The service they provided felt like having a personal concierge. Want a dinner restaurant recommendation? They’ve got you! Not sure of the best transportation options? No problem! Want a Spanish conversation partner? You got it! The hotel itself is very intimate with only 7 casitas and surrounded by the most thoughtful landscaping to provide privacy on each house’s patio. The electrical is a bit funky. Mind you, electricity only became available to that region in the ‘80’s, so it makes sense that there might be capacity/load issues. It was typical for that entire region. Despite that, the accommodations are fabulous. And the beach. No words for that! Approximately 150 meters to walk there.

I liked everything about this property

Wir haben drei Nächte im KAÑIK APART HOTEL verbracht und hatten eine richtig schöne Zeit dort. Die Kommunikation war super unkompliziert und total herzlich. Da es nur wenige Apartments gibt, ist alles sehr persönlich – man fühlt sich direkt wohl und kann richtig abschalten. Unser Bungalow war wunderschön eingerichtet und lag mitten in der Natur. Mein absolutes Highlight war definitiv die Badewanne! Auch das Frühstück, das man sich jeden Abend aussuchen konnte, war richtig lecker und abwechslungsreich. Man merkt einfach, wie viel Herzblut und Mühe die beiden Gastgeber in dieses Projekt stecken – sei es beim Frühstück, in der liebevollen Einrichtung oder in der netten Kommunikation mit den Gästen. Wenn ich überhaupt etwas anmerken müsste, dann vielleicht, dass die Unterkunft etwas abseits liegt. Ohne Auto ist man daher nicht ganz so flexibel – mit Auto aber gar kein Problem. Der Strand in der Nähe ist traumhaft schön und überhaupt nicht überlaufen. Ich kann das KAÑIK APART HOTEL wirklich nur empfehlen und würde jederzeit wiederkommen!
