Our room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, the jetted tub was wonderful after our long drive, there was plenty of hot water and pressure in the shower and the self-serve breakfast was terrific.

The parking lot is extremely small and compact. There was a power outage during our stay and thus no hot water. No emergency lighting. Staff was helpful and friendly.

Having gone to school in Charlottesville, I knew the Red Roof isn't exactly the newest product on the block. However, for a vintage building, the team there has made their rooms as clean & polished as possible & staff was very helpful upon check in. It was clear they were giving full effort to make each guest comfortable. Compared to other choices that were $200 a night, there is good value here for the middle price range. Downsides were that the continental breakfast was pretty sparse (we skipped it) and we had two bugs in our room. Upside was the Jacuzzi in the larger room was awesome, worked like a charm & I would totally book again. Unusual to have it next to the bed but actually very fun for kids or of course those special date nights 💋❤

This Red Roof does its job. It is a fine place to stay if you are just looking to crash while saving a few dollars. We stayed here for a concert at UVA and we wanted a place that we could walk to after the show to avoid being stuck in traffic. It was perfect. It is an older motel that has done the best that can be done without a complete remodel which would raise the price of the rooms. The bed was made, there were clean towels and hot water. Actually, the water pressure was amazing. The complimentary coffee was good. Easy parking. Fast check in. This place does the trick. Much better than I expected!

I’ll start by saying I have stayed here a few times and never had an issue. Last night, after a football game we check in. We get into the room and we get under the covers. There were hairs ALLLLL in the bed. Not one or two. MANY. We immediately call the front desk, where they say there is no maid to change the sheets. Either we can change it ourselves or leave and get a refund. In the middle of the night on a game day, there is nowhere for us to go!! After looking further, there’s black stains on the sheets and pillows. Also, burn holes in the bedding as well. Additionally, burn holes in the chair and black hairs all around the sink. Clearly our room had never been cleaned. Due to it being game day, there was no other rooms to be switched to at this hotel. There were no rooms within an hour’s drive and this was the middle of the night. Truly a horrific and disgusting experience. For $230 a night…this is a crime!!!!!!

While it’s clearly an older budget motel, it was well-maintained and served its purpose perfectly for a short stay. The room was very clean, which is always my top priority. The staff stood out as especially friendly and helpful. We even found a nice unexpected gift in the room: a reusable clear bag, water bottles, and snacks to take to UVA graduation events. If you’re looking for an affordable place to stay with solid hospitality and proximity to UVA, the Red Roof Inn is a great option.

There have been obvious attempts to modernize the place. New flooring, electronic door locks, nice bed, etc. But some of the work wasn’t done well. Cracked tiles where the new shower curtain rod was installed. Also, the area was overly busy with three other hotels and two restaurants on the same small side road. And one night we were subjected to a constant pounding noise from one of the rooms above us.

I didn’t stay long, but my interactions with the receptionist was pleasant enough. My only gripe is that with it being so close to a busy road, the sound of traffic at all hours might be off-putting to anyone not used to sleeping in loud environments. Ear plugs were provided, but it’s a poor substitute for having a quiet room.

The location was convenient. The AC unit made a weird sound every so often that interrupted my sleep. It sounded like someone was opening trash bags just outside the door but nobody was there. There was a fly and some small flying bugs coming out of the bathroom sink.

The room was spacious. Hot water was easily available. The room came with ear plugs. We never used the ear plugs but it was a little noisy outside. Parking was good. The bed was comfortable. Overall no complaints.

Tv was not hooked up properly, so I couldn’t use it at all. Couple outside fighting at 2 am, that was a real treat! Office check-in person personality was lacking. The property was clean, as was the room, aside from the other issues mentioned above.

When you first come to the hotel, please do not get put off. It is an older hotel...however, the rooms are updated! And they are CLEAN. Literally the cleanest hotel room I have been in, so kudos to the staff for keeping those that way. The ONLY downfall I have about it is that the walls are super thin. You can literally hear everything, but the hotel offsets this by giving you ear plugs which was great. The breakfast was the normal hotel breakfast, muffins, bagels, waffles, OJ, coffee, etc. The staff was incredible. And it's in a great location. We'll no doubt stay again if we have another job in the area.

Well we get here way after the time to check in and they didn’t have a room ready. Then last night they gave someone else our room because they tried to get in our room. So in the meanwhile they deactivated our key that my husband couldn’t get back in the room after going to get breakfast. Luckily I was still in the room. I’m not the only guest that was upset from start to finish to get a room. You had plenty of upset people. I understand there was a concert in town but you guys weren’t even ready for the people that made reservations. I went off of staying here by reviews I won’t ever stay here again the reviews were way off of what was written about this place. It’s pretty bad that you wanted to people to wait around for a room to open up but wasn’t going to allow the people to use the bathroom that was in the lobby until much later. Then we get a call after midnight when the people that to get in our room went back down to let them know someone was in the room. Then we were asked who are we. Well shouldn’t there have been a record at the front desk who has each room. I’ve never stayed in a motel that’s so unorganized. I know I definitely won’t stay here again.

The guy working at the front desk at night (refers to himself as “JJ”) is ill-mannered and unprofessional. What would have been a decent stay, for the price, was turn sour by my interaction with this man. If you can steer clear of “JJ” and don’t mind a hotel that’s dated but painted - it’ll do.

We requested a first floor room due to my husband’s disability, a heart condition at age 85, we we’re told by a lady who answered the phone, that if we waited to check in until later in the day, she could guarantee a first floor room. At 4 Pm we arrived at Red Roof Inn in Charlottesville and were given a second floor room about as far from the elevator as possible. No explanation & no apology. Just that every 1st floor room was taken. Your staff is not true to their word. Never again will we stay at Red Roof Inn.

We will attend to the chapel at UVA. The hotel is few mins to the place we have to go and some restaurants, shopping, etc. around here. Convenient. Room is excellent, comfortable, quiet and clean. One of the best stay in three weeks after X'mas trip. Price is generously set incl. breakfast. I got third floor (top floor) and used an elevator. We will be back for some events to stay here. Thank you for the management people.

Good value for money. Located just off two major highways yet reasonably quiet. Motel is behind two other motels, so we had to wind our way past to get to the property.

This Red Roof does its job. It is a fine place to stay if you are just looking to crash while saving a few dollars. We stayed here for a concert at UVA and we wanted a place that we could walk to after the show to avoid being stuck in traffic. It was perfect. It is an older motel that has done the best that can be done without a complete remodel which would raise the price of the rooms. The bed was made, there were clean towels and hot water. Actually, the water pressure was amazing. The complimentary coffee was good. Easy parking. Fast check in. This place does the trick. Much better than I expected!

We were surprised at how awesome our red roof stay in Charlottesville was. Great staff, clean, well appointed room, efficient, check-in, warm food for breakfast. I couldn’t ask for a more pleasant experience.

I was a little concerned about the hotel being so close to major roads and that there were ear plugs in the room, but it was really quiet. Breakfast was lackluster, but overall good stay.

Arrived for check in and the clerk working the desk said they could not find the reservation. Then tried to get us to pay cash on top of paying on the hotels.com app. They were unable to make keys to get into the rooms. Room was opened by a master key to let me and others in. No key was given. Cigarette burns in the tub! Do NOT recommend staying here!!!

Over all the hotel was clean but showing its age. Elevator (there is only one small elevator) is at the far end while our room was at the other end…somewhat of a pain for moving luggage. Room was clean, linens were fresh so no beef there. Breakfast was a single waffle maker, a bread assortment, coffee and juice. It was well stocked but being #3 in line for the waffle maker was a 9 min wait. The breakfast area was very clean. For dog travellers, there is a nice area for walking on the backside of the hotel.
