Unique property has been thoughtfully updated with Sonder design and independent touches. Arched bathroom doorway, walk in stone tile shower, bath fixtures, extra soft beds, oversized refridge make pleasant in-room experience. Outdoor shared spaces right outside your door - couches, tables, etc - with Pacific ocean view really made it extra awesome. We entertained ourselves and friends in a comfortable space and made friends with other guests. Short 1 block walk to 'hidden' Woods Cove beach was perfect. Free Laguna trolley stop right across the street made easy access to downtown restaurants and shopping (or easy 1 - 1.5 mile walk). Can't wait to stay here again!

Clean, newly remodeled. Would have liked a tea option as well as sugar substitute in room. Our double bed room only came with 1 tiny bottle of lotion and small soap in bathroom (larger shampoo/body wash in shower provided). Friendly front desk worker . Nice coffee machine and water refill station in lobby. Loved the secure luggage lockers - we used during the day after check out for a few hours. Overall great stay and awesome location to Woods cove beach. Don’t forget to use the free Laguna trolley into town! Stops right across from hotel. Online check set up a little annoying but check in was smooth. Would stay again!

A nice stay. Hotel is clean and efficient. Great location, and pool is clean and refreshing.

We arrived at about 5 pm and easily found our room which was clean and spacious for my wife and I. (However, charging a $25 fee for parking seemed somewhat excessive.) The trolley stop is right outside of the driveway which provides free rides to the shops and cafes in Laguna Beach. Beach access just a block away. Great location and easy access to lots of activities.

Overall, our stay was great and the room and facility was clean and comfortable. We loved the fact that they had a microwave available in the lobby area. The parking spaces are rather tight and was a bit challenging getting our son in and out of the backseat at times. We loved having a view of the beach from our window and would likely stay here again. The biggest issue was that the hotel didn’t have any additional washcloths our entire stay. I’ve never encountered this and it was concerning to me. There was an abundance of every other type of towel available to guests but no clean washcloths for 3 days. Hopefully they can invest in more because the property really isn’t that large. The staff was always very friendly but was dishonest in the beginning about bringing washcloths to our room. They never appeared.

The room was so small there was no place to open luggage. I don't know what they were thinking - travelers have LUGGAGE - the mattress was too small for the bedframe so the bedframe stuck out - the edges were sharp and I gouged my leg within 2 minutes of being in the room - needed ice and bandages. we both hit our shins many times - neighboring guests staying there said the same thing- bed was comfy and bathroom set up was nice. A/C took a while to figure out - the written directions were incorrect -we texted thru the App and it took a while to get a response -THERE IS NO FRONT DESK to ask anyone anything- the TV also had incorrect directions, so that took a while - since we had blood on the sheets from my cut leg I requested a cleaning (on the App of course) and the charge would be 95$ - yes, you read that right - as if $350 per night + isn't enough to pay, so NO, we did not get the room cleaned. Parking (had to pay $30/night for this ) was so very tight - I could not get out of the car - had to pull out again to do so- once getting it parked we wanted to take a LYFT to dinner so we wouldn't have to move the car and park it again - a lot the rooms are around an outside patio - which has nice furniture but if anyone out there is talking, you are part of their conversation - I thought when I booked it, that we could walk to restaurants/ coffee shops but the closest coffee is half mile away - you are right on the Coast Hwy so yes noisy trucks etc-take earplugs & bandages

If they didn’t milk you for an additional $75 just to park there this would be a 5star review.

We really enjoyed the stay here. The only thing that we did not like were all those wooden stumps in front of the sinks that to us served no purpose and you couldn’t move them. They seemed like more of a hazard of getting injured or stubbing your toes. Still don’t understand what they werethere for. Other than that, it’s a great place. It has a pool. And then across the street you can walk down to the beach and see the sunset.

There was poop left in my bathroom upon arrival. Nobody could get to my bathroom for cleaning until the following morning because no staff on property. Completely unacceptable.

This hotel was quite a find. We've stayed at many hotels in Laguna but this was a nice surprise. The room was clean, modern and comfortable with Davine toiletries. There’s a patio/deck area outside of the rooms with plenty of seating to relax and enjoy the ocean view. The beach is just across the street. You can walk into town or catch the free trolley. I would highly recommend.

Great location a short way to the center of town and all the “action” yet just out of range. Great access to a terrific smaller beach - Woods Cove. Decent size room and quite comfortable for one person. My “only” complaint was noise of the air conditioner unit. It is not helpful to have all the benefits noted above when you can’t get a quiet and restful sleep.

Absolutely loved our stay here. Our room had an amazing view and we were just a short walk from the beach. The staff was so nice and accommodating. It was our first time staying in Laguna and it was a great choice. Absolutely recommend staying here if you are considering it.

The hotel had a good vibe. Room was light and airy feeling. But the room was too small for a king bed. Nowhere to open luggage.

The rooms are beautifully designed and the aesthetic is coastal boho vibe. The location is perfect! I loved that it was in such close proximity to the shuttle and amazing beaches. The only downside was the tight parking and the thin walls. It can get pretty loud if you have noisy neighbors.

Walls were poorly insulated. Service was 0/5. Service issues: 1. Called due to noise issues and person told me there was nothing they would do 2. Electronic locks would not work mid the second day. Front desk was supposed to be staffed 10-6. It was not and we could not enter our room for over an hour 3. Coffee maker ran out of coffee in the lobby and no one was there to staff. 4. Only interaction we had with staff was an annoyed person upset we interrupted their time on Tik Tock. Overall pathetic Turned out we were locked out due to a system error that showed we hadn’t checked in yet… the day after we checked in. Otherwise rooms were well decorated and clean. Beds were comfortable. Rooms next door you could hear EVERYTHING. Room was TINY

Overall a great experience. The Sonder app made check in advance easy but there is also someone in the lobby at certain hours. The hotel just completed a total renovation so everything is new & clean. Room is not huge w a king sized bed, but nice comforter & pillows. The HVAC is a bit loud so be prepared. Relaxed beach bungalow vibe.

I had a great stay at Sonder Woods Cove. I stayed in the King Studio for one night. I loved that it is directly across from the beach, a Ralph’s grocery store is a short trip down the road, along with other dining options. The room was beautiful, and the front desk person was really friendly and welcoming. I also loved that the kitchen offered different coffee selections and milk options. Pros: location, quiet, aesthetics, amenities, super comfy bed, customer service Come: you can easily miss the parking lot, some cosmetic flaws could use more attention, but not an huge turn-off. Overall, it was the perfect start to my weekend getaway! I would stay again.

We booked this stay for 2 people and upon arrival the keypad was not functioning to enter the room with no hotel staff available. Attempted to reach out for help and did not receive help until the following day (extremely problematic for a 2 day stay) when trying to resolve how to enter the room

There was poop left in my bathroom upon arrival. Nobody could get to my bathroom for cleaning until the following morning because no staff on property. Completely unacceptable.

Check in was a horrible process and left us stranded with no help!

I arrived and had my hotel confirmation handy. The office to check in was closed, despite Google and Expedia stating otherwise. The required Sonder mobile app failed to allow me to checkin as it did not recognize my face, despite adding overhead lighting from inside of my vehicle. I called the phone number provided and the representative for the hotel instead of assisting me with checkin offered to “remedy” the situation by canceling my reservation, and continually repeated “just follow the app instructions!” Mind you, this is at night with no where else to go. After fumbling through the required unintuitive check-in mobile app for 20 minutes, the application finally granted me access to my hotel room. The app asked me to select a checkout time, and I selected 9:30 AM. At approximately 8:30 AM the cleaning staff entered my room and asked if this was my room or if I was leaving. I attempted to contact the office before leaving to share these poor experiences at approximately 9:30 AM, however again the concierge was not present. A sign at the desk simply instructed me to use the mobile app!

Unfortunately the hotel doesn't have a maintenance person. In the middle of the night we had a smell enter our room... it woke all 3 of us up from a dead sleep. It was very potent. We couldn't get through to anyone to check our room. It could have been an easy fix but they did not have anyone who could check our room. It ended up that a skunk had spayed near the vent system and it was pulled through the ventilation system. We were upstairs so it was hard to believe that it was a skunk, we all felt like we should call the fire dept. to confirm that it wasn't a natural gas leek. They rolled it out for us...but the smell was unbearable. We changed hotels at 2 am.

What a cute little smart hotel. The decor was impeccable. The amenities were amazing. So close to the beach little vibes all along the street. Laguna trolley takes you anywhere. The hotel staff, Thea, was so friendly and accommodating. Thank you for the stay.

Overall a pretty good property. The front desk though was closed every time I went to ask for something.

OOF! First stay at a Sonder property and it was rough. Zero staff on property when I arrived and the 'easy access" code didn't work to enter my room. the few amenities they do offer weren't working or inaccessible: iron broken, had to search the property for a ironing board, couldn't find me another iron, so gave me a steamer, two different steamers were also broken. I also wasn't aware that they don't service your room during your stay? sort of like getting the worst parts of both AirB&B and Hotel: no body on site to handle concerns/requests and a small room with very limited amenities.

Perfect getaway, the hotel room was clean! The bed was comfy, I loved the full body length mirror in the restroom. The hotel is walking distance to woods cove beach, a perfect little spot to picnic and enjoy the views

Beautiful room. It was very clean. The bed was extremely comfortable. The beach is right across the street. We used the free trolley to get around town. The trolley stop is right in front of the hotel. The draw backs are the small parking spaces and the street noise.
