The pool was closed. Apparently it's closed a lot. They also make you check-in yourself on one of those impersonal screens, like a cheap and nasty burger joint. So you've go to go through the upsells, and add in all the info to make their life easier, and the greeting non-existent. So much for being "excited to welcome" you to the hotel as their cringe booking confirmation said. And no, you cannot opt out of this, it IS compulsory - so worse that a cheap burger joint - I was led over teacher-style to show me how to type my details into this. About time Expedia had a filter for this kind of cheap "welcome". The hotel was generally run down - drink stains on the corridor not cleaned, things falling apart in the bathroom. The pool looks nice, if you can find it open.

Our stay was overall ok. Easy walk to the train, food, shopping and the old town. We stayed a week. The pool was out of service the first 4, and the workout equipment was out of service. Once the pool was open, it was too cold for us to swim in. Bummer, because we really wanted to have a gym, spa and pool to relax in. My partner got a facial and had a mild breakout. It wasn’t worth the rate because those important amenities we booked the hotel for, weren’t working. But the stay in the city was cool.

Speedy check-in by a staff member who remained friendly, calm and efficient despite three different things he had to do at the same time. Impressive ! Good location, walking distance to the Düsseldorf main railway station and the city centre. Very comfortable beds, nice and clean rooms. My only reserve relates to the pool, which is nice, on the top floor, with a great view on the (ugly) city. That said, it was not clear to me from the hotels.com description that access to the pool/spa area had to be paid extra. Maybe I did not notice some small asterisk footnote. These unpleasant extras should be shown very prominently in the description of the hotel. I got lucky, because the great receptionist saw my surprise and threw in a free access to the pool area. Second comment : pool hours between11 am and 7 pm are a showstopper for business travelers and not really user-friendly. Try 6 am to 9 pm. All that said, great hotel, and despite my comments, I will come back.

Good hotel with walking distance from railway station. Good breakfast with many dishes. Spa was with small swimming pool and sun beds. Gym was small and no weights. Rowing machine was half broken. Winnie at hotel reception was super and 10 points for her friendly service.

Beim ankommen war das Zimmer nicht gereinigt. Nach bitte an der Rezeption wurde es immer noch nicht gereinigt. Wir bekamen ein neues Zimmer und ein Getränk auf's Haus. Wobei wir danach beschuldigt wurden das Getränk nicht bezahlen zu wollen! Ich würde nicht mehr in dieses Hotel gehen. Sehr schade

Im Wohnbereich der Suite war ein dicker, klebriger Fleck, als wir angereist sind. Dieser verschwand auch innerhalb unseres Aufenthalts von 2 Nächten nicht. Also feucht gewischt wurde wohl nicht, nicht mal vor Übergabe an neue Gäste. Im Schrank lag noch ein benutztes Handtuch sowie ein Zahnseide Stick. Somit wurden offensichtlich auch die Schränke vor der Übergabe an neue Gäste nicht ausgewischt. Kosmetiktücher waren am ersten Tag im Bad alle. Wir haben die Packung entfernt und auf die benutzten Handtücher gelegt, in der Hoffnung, dass sie dann natürlich nachgefüllt werden. Fehlanzeige. Bademäntel und Hausschuhe sollten bei einer Executive Suite Standard sein. Das Bad ist im Vergleich zu dem Zimmer mini. Schon viele Hotels besucht und noch nie so ein kleines Bad gehabt. Der Wohnbereich war sehr schön und das Bett war großartig. Selten so gut geschlafen. Das Hotel könnte definitiv Punkte machen, wenn die Sauberkeit deutlich besser wird und gerade in den Suiten ein bisschen mehr Komfort angeboten wird.

Personal ist sehr freundlich. Allerdings lies die Sauberkeit des Zimmers zu wünschen übrig (Haare, Ecken nicht gewischt/gesaugt, Gläser & Kaffeemaschine nicht richtig sauber). Im Zimmer waren zwei Seifenspender leer, auch auf Nachfrage und hinterlassener Nachricht wurden diese nicht aufgefüllt.

Leider nicht genügend Handtücher auf dem Zimmer, nach 2-maligen erinnern wurden sie aber gebracht. Die Wasserflaschen waren leider leer und in der Kaffeemaschine befanden sich gebrauchte Kapseln. Absolutely fantastic, from a seasoned traveller this was a tremendous hotel for the price paid. Can’t comment on the food as we ate out but room spotless and pool a lovely bonus. Don’t believe the negative reviews and give it a try!

Het was op zich een mooie kamer (kamer 101), maar de verwarming was stuk. Het was er kouder dan op de gang (+/- 10°C) en het kon niet gerepareerd worden. We hebben een klein kacheltje op olie-verwarming gekregen maar tegen de ochtend was het nog maar +/- 12°C.

The hotel is very nice, room was clean. Although I must stress this, the wifi was HORRIBLE. Always disconnected, everything struggled to load. FIX THIS PLEASE, PEOPLE HAVE STUFF TO DO AND NEED WIFI. Also, our TV was incredibly basic and the remote didn’t work because the batteries were rusty and degrading. Other than this, it’s a great hotel, didn’t have any issues otherwise. Cool area too. FIX THE WIFI.

Zimmer sauber und gut ausgestattet. Zur Straße hin leider manchmal etwas laut gewesen. Klimaanlage teils ebenfalls etwas laut. Leider war der Kühlschrank defekt. Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

The hotel is well appointed with a seperate drive in entrance. There are a LOT of rooms here, but all are large for a city centre hotel. Well decorated, comfy bed and modern bathroom. Only minor point is that the lift is a little complicated to operate. You'll see what I mean. And all the TV stations were in German, no other languages available. There was a bit of a queue at check in but the staff dealt with it well. A big smile on the guy at check out so very friendly. I would recommend this hotel.

I booked the executives suite, it was smaller and different than the picture and the bathroom was really tiny (the shower mini). Friendly staff but i had to ask for slippers and bathrobe ar reception and bring it up myself. Same for water kettle. And the room did not lock properly. Loud aircon/hearing and no window in the room. So not the best experience. Breakfast even miso soup and gohan and sejt very good.

Clean room with basic but good facilities. Didn’t read the note about having to pay extra for pool access so this was a surprise. Room was far too hot and due to street noise it was impossible to sleep well. Bed was comfortable though

I previously stayed at this hotel when it was called Nikko. It has since changed its name, which is why I chose to stay here again. My experience this time was that the hotel facilities haven't improved in recent years. For example: 1) The room phone doesn't work at all; I had to go downstairs to the front desk to get help. 2) The windows aren't properly sealed, so outside noise could be heard in the room at night, making it difficult to fall asleep. 3) The Japanese-style sliding door to the toilet couldn't be opened or closed. 4) The safe in the room was closed and unusable after check-in.

At the second morning the person at the breakfast desk informed us our breakfast was not included, even though we did book it for 2 days/nigths. He would check it and never got back to us. Staff at the breakfast is not very kind or service minded. The sink in the bathroom was fractured as the bathroom is quite dated. Location and park options are great.

A. Dry friendly hotel. Serves one of the better breakfast that I have had. Nice selection of food. Our first room wasn’t in good working order and they moved us right away no questions asked. The pool is on top of the building so you get a great view of the city. The Spa is very nice as well. Had a great time as the location was a 10 minute walk to all the shopping you wanted and a 10 minute walk to old town for all the food you wanted. If you want Asian food it is all around the hotel.

The pool was closed. Apparently it's closed a lot. They also make you check-in yourself on one of those impersonal screens, like a cheap and nasty burger joint. So you've go to go through the upsells, and add in all the info to make their life easier, and the greeting non-existent. So much for being "excited to welcome" you to the hotel as their cringe booking confirmation said. And no, you cannot opt out of this, it IS compulsory - so worse that a cheap burger joint - I was led over teacher-style to show me how to type my details into this. About time Expedia had a filter for this kind of cheap "welcome". The hotel was generally run down - drink stains on the corridor not cleaned, things falling apart in the bathroom. The pool looks nice, if you can find it open.

I was staying there with a large group. Ass. Manager frontdesk was not able to shortcut any admin to create a master bill beforehand or offer ant solutions. Which resulted in inefficient long checkin. Luckily the ladies at frontdesk were very friendly and this was fast forgotten. However had very high summer temperatures and the airco was not able to keep up. It was 26 degrees in room. Also I had 2 bookings for longer stay. for the 2nd booking I had to pay another city tax. I did that at 4 PM but my room was still not cleaned. I had to ask this twice which was not nice after day of working. With all these admin rules you have to go true they seem to forget hotels are a service oriented business

Old hotel, staff is not helpful. I wanted to change a harder pillow but was told unpossible that all the pillows are the same. It was a lie, my colleague stayed in another room did has a harder pillow. I eventually got it but the communication was just painful. Also receptionist not helpful either, one hairless guy refused to help me with my heavy luggage and seems “angry” that I asked for help. He replied me very boldly that they don’t have enough staff to help. Also one day my room was not cleaned. I called for room cleaning but they also refused at first. The over impression is that it was so painful to communicate with every staff, they tried all means, even lying, to avoid extra work. No smile, no one say sorry etc… will not come again definitely.

Fine hotel, but hotel staff could work a bit more on customer friendliness. The most scary thing we experienced was that the cleaning lady entered our room without waiting for a response (she knocked on the door and immediately opened the door, without waiting). About the room: the bathtub shower was super slippery and dangerous + not spacious at all.

They don’t have enough staff, room are not cleaned, showers don’t have a door so your entire bathroom becomes wet. Answering them phone for room service took 20 minutes.

Staffs are so kind and supportive. When I told them I needed hot water, they kindly lent me an electric kettle. Also they prepared lunch box for me as I had to leave before breakfast starts.

Good location near to HBF and bus station. You are right in the heart of little Tokyo so there is plenty to do eat and drink. Main centre of town is a short walk. Staff were friendly, polite and helpful. The only issue I had was that the elevators were out of action for a day. Not a big deal but not the first time i have had this issue here! Definitely recommend

This hotel was in a good location, only a 5 minute walk from the station. There were plenty of food options nearby and the walk into Dusseldorf centre wasn't too far either. The room was clean and spacious with plenty of storage and also a fridge. We used the pool once during our stay as it wasn't a priority for us but the €15 fee put us off nipping in for an hour. If we were going all day it would probably be a fair price as the views were great. We had drinks in the bar area which were reasonably priced but we didn't eat in the restaurant. All in all a great stay and would definitely stay again should we return to Dusseldorf.

I found Clayton to be an excellent choice for my stay. The Japanese quarter is a stones throw away and there are plenty of very nice restaurants around. The property itself was really impressive and I will be staying at Clayton for all future Düsseldorf trips

The location is perfect, it is in the centre of little tokyo, but also not far from the Königsallee. We had a room facing the Immermannstraße that's why it was a little bit loud in the early morning. The room was comfy.

Orimligt dyrt. Frukosten höll sämre kvalitet än på många mindre och billigare hotell i Düsseldorf. Rummet var opraktiskt, utan skrivbord och inte lämpat att arbeta i. Vid 4-tiden varje morgon dundrade det från underjorden, antagligen från tunnelbanan. Det enda jag verkligen uppskattade var den Rump Steak som serverades i baren - fantastiskt mör och god. Jag kommer inte att bo på detta hotell igen.

This is by far the worst hotel stay I have ever had. And I travel all over the world. I was shocked. When you walk in, you would assume this is an average hotel. It is not at all. It all started with ridiculously loud noises. It sounds like the pipes are rattling inside the wall walls. I was on floor eight I had a coworker on floor four and another coworker also on floor eight and they all said they heard it too. It sounds like loud bangs and clingy inside the walls. When I addressed it with the front desk, they acted like they had no idea. It is impossible that they have never heard a complaint about this before considering all of us could hear it. They move me to a room on for four and once again, I could still hear the noise. The room they moved me too was an upgraded room when I got in and started unpacking. I noticed a pack of cigarettes underneath the bed. Disgusting clearly if they can miss things like this, they are missing other things. I also noticed massive holes missing out of the walls dust hanging from the ceiling somebody else’s hair in the shower it was completely disgusting. To make it even worse after my first night in the new room, I went to work and when I came back from my day at work, I scanned my key card only to notice the red light continued to flash. I was locked out of my room. I went to the front desk and they explained that they made a mistake in giving me that room as it was booked for somebody else and I had to be moved to a different room

We were promised a new extra bed. 15 hours later they hadn’t done anything except make the bed, and when we reported it again the manager tried to blame us because we informed them too late in the evening. About 00.45 in the night we got a new extra bed. It was possible to sleep then, but it was extremely hard - as with the regular bed. The cleaning was horrible everyday. Wouldn’t stay there again.
