The place is a little dated and dark, but the rooms were clean and it was quiet. The hot tub was closed for maintenance which was disappointing since there's no other pool or anything. Also, the cable wouldn't come in so we were unable to watch anything on tv. Also, the desk/lobby area closes in the evening so you can't access the vending machine even. Most fascinating, they still have physical keys to get in the door! You never had to worry about the key card not working. 😆 It would be perfect for skiers at granite peak or golfers at the course right there. El Tequila Salsa is right down the road and was fabulous!

Great place to stay if your goal is to get close to Granite Peak ski area. It was cost effective and is the closest property to the resort. It was clean and has recently been updated. But it’s still an older hotel. There is no elevator. Overall we had a good stay and we would stay there again.

great spot! basically ski-in/ski-out for Granite Peak. 10 min walk to the main lift (20 if you’re wearing your ski boots lol). excellent huge hot tub and nice sauna. good breakfast, friendly staff. will def come back anytime i go to Granite Peak.

The facility is in a lovely wooded area. It was likely highly desirable in its prime but it appeared tired and dated with buckets scattered about about to catch leaks, had a weather checked exterior, and hallway carpeting in need of cleaning. We passed on breakfast as cold cereal and waffles did not strike our fancy. Our room itself was fairly well kept but overall we will not consider staying again.

Loved the room! Very quaint and northwoodsy with the fireplace and a full kitchen. Downstairs was nice with a fireplace and tables with board games you could play. Breakfast was a plus. Jacuzzi area could have been cleaned up a little bit. All in all, will stay here again, and even thinking of just make a trip up and staying here, liked it that much!! Golf course right next door too.

The setting is wonderful. Quiet, in a residential neighborhood. I chose it because of 10 ratings. Not a 10. I'm attaching a picture of the note about the bathroom door. While securely closing the bathroom door isn't a big deal, for Pete's sake if you know it's a problem replace the door! The door was cracked and nasty at the bottom anyway. Stingy with towels and we had no washcloths. I would have liked a blanket option other than the thick, super warm comforter or just the sheet, it was summer. Taylor at the desk was sweet, and did call us to explain that they had a staffing emergency and she was closing check in at 3:45. It fit our schedule fine to check in before she left. But it meant that we had no access to the lovely lobby, ice or vending in the evening. The outdoor hot tub was closed for repairs. We wouldn't have used the sauna, but it was also not available because of no staff.

Our stay was very pleasant . Staff was very friendly and breakfast was very good .i believe there was alot of remodeling going on with hot tub or it was broke . First time i stayed at a hotel that didnt have staff and the lobby open all night,but overalll a Great experience !

We have stayed here twice now and its just a perfect small hotel. The hot tub was not working but we did enjoy having a fire and the beds were awesome!! Barbara was really friendly and we hope to come back soon!!!

This property was very cute. It was clean but had the smell of an older place. Kind of musty. The room was also clean. The shower could use an update but it wasn’t a big deal. We were there for a girls weekend and were hoping to use the hot tub. Unfortunately it was closed for maintenance. Make sure to click the “read more” area when booking so that you know if it will be closed or not. It was closed all summer. We didn’t use or check out the sauna but the staff did tell us to give them 15 minutes notice if we wanted to use it so they could start it up. We also didn’t get to experience the breakfast as there was a family reunion that booked most rooms in the hotel. They did offer us a sheet to fill out and hand to them and then they would bring us out our breakfast but we just chose to go elsewhere. Overall this place was just what we needed for our trip minus being able to use the hot tub. I would probably stay there again.

Room was old and not very clean. (Ex: can tabs on the bed) No spare bedding. Smelled of mold and mildew. Website said continental breakfast, but there is no breakfast. Staff was friendly except cleaning staff.. .

The property is off the beaten path which made it quieter and more personal. The room was clean and comfortable and the other guests were considerate, the staff was helpful and kind. Being on the first floor I could hear waling from the room above me but the other noises were minimal. The lobby was not open until 8 am which was a little inconvenient, but just plan for it and its fine. Close to shopping and to Wausau without being in the middle of things. Very convenient to Rib Mountain. Very reasonably priced, I would recommend the hotel to other travelers.

Nice place overall. Might want to check mold/mildew around bathtub, but otherwise clean room. Customer Service attitude a bit strong; must have to deal with a lot of knotheads. AND, still had to deal with loud neighbors despite all the written rules.

I liked that there was a fireplace, patio, and a kitchen. As well, it was very well stocked with everything you might need. The breakfast was pretty nice and the customer service was great. The only downside was that the people next to us were talking ALL NIGHT and loudly…or maybe the walls were thin. We had to run the fan and a white noise app on my phone so we could sleep. Otherwise, an overall great experience.

Quiet room. Very happy with the soft bed and variety of pillows. Didn't use the shower, so can't comment on that. For some reason, the laminate-wood flooring was slightly sticky to both shoes and socks. The entire interior of the building, even the room, was weirdly dark. Still a fair experience for a fair price.

This was such a quiet, nice place to spend the weekend. The room was large with a small balcony. The front desk staff were very friendly. It was like staying at a mountain lodge you see in the movies.

My family really liked this property. We were in town on a mini vaca, and this was perfect for the area to explore, shop, family activities, and just a relaxing getaway. The room was comfortable and roomy for out fam of 5. The only con was really poor wifi to do down time when back to our room in the eveing, and no pool. But there were 3 pool options withing 15 minutes away so that wasnt bad.

I loved staying here. The only complaint I have is with the spotty internet service (cut out at times) and the tv. It had huge selection of streaming services but I don’t subscribe to them so I was limited to what was offered but it would not prevent me from staying here again, a real gem as far as I am concerned.
I loved staying here. The only complaint I have is with the spotty internet service (cut out at times) and the tv. It had huge selection of streaming services but I don’t subscribe to them so I was limited to what was offered but it would not prevent me from staying here again, a real gem as far as I am concerned.

The hotel pictures did not match the reality. The staff were disorganized, the place reeked of smoke, and it was extremely noisy. The price was outrageously high, yet the hotel was dirty. The staff even tried to force us to stay the full duration and refused an early checkout. Only after calling the police and having them intervene were we able to leave. It was a terrible experience, and we will never return to this hotel.

Room was comfortable and clean. A few items needed assistance and pointed out to staff during stay. Barbara and her team were very welcoming and responsive. The breakfast and warm beverages were a plus. We will stay here again.

The setting is wonderful. Quiet, in a residential neighborhood. I chose it because of 10 ratings. Not a 10. I'm attaching a picture of the note about the bathroom door. While securely closing the bathroom door isn't a big deal, for Pete's sake if you know it's a problem replace the door! The door was cracked and nasty at the bottom anyway. Stingy with towels and we had no washcloths. I would have liked a blanket option other than the thick, super warm comforter or just the sheet, it was summer. Taylor at the desk was sweet, and did call us to explain that they had a staffing emergency and she was closing check in at 3:45. It fit our schedule fine to check in before she left. But it meant that we had no access to the lovely lobby, ice or vending in the evening. The outdoor hot tub was closed for repairs. We wouldn't have used the sauna, but it was also not available because of no staff.

Pulled in to the property but ddn't immediatly see the sign. Maybe something easily noticible from the street? Walked into the buildiing and didn't notice anything about where the front desk is. Walked to the back and then went downstairs to find front desk. Signage? Front desk person was nice enough but I specifically asked if there was information about what to do in Wausau in the room. Was told there was. There wasn't. The next morning I went downstars at 7, which was when I was told there would be coffee available, I found a kiosk full of iinformation about what to do in Wausau. The front desk area was closed. I returned at 7:30 and the front desk area was still closed. Decided to leave and find coffee and breakfast in town. Did notice that coffee was available in the room but was already preparing to leave at that point. Really like the property but step up management.

We have stayed here twice now and its just a perfect small hotel. The hot tub was not working but we did enjoy having a fire and the beds were awesome!! Barbara was really friendly and we hope to come back soon!!!

Great place to stay if your goal is to get close to Granite Peak ski area. It was cost effective and is the closest property to the resort. It was clean and has recently been updated. But it’s still an older hotel. There is no elevator. Overall we had a good stay and we would stay there again.

The property is off the beaten path which made it quieter and more personal. The room was clean and comfortable and the other guests were considerate, the staff was helpful and kind. Being on the first floor I could hear waling from the room above me but the other noises were minimal. The lobby was not open until 8 am which was a little inconvenient, but just plan for it and its fine. Close to shopping and to Wausau without being in the middle of things. Very convenient to Rib Mountain. Very reasonably priced, I would recommend the hotel to other travelers.

We had a wonderful stay at the Rib Mountain Inn! The executive room was so convenient and the extra space was very appreciated. Loved the comfortable feel of the place. And, added bonus, there was a trail thru the woods to Granite Peak where we rode the ski lift up to see fall colors! Definitely recommend!

Will definitely return. This quaint and quietly located facility is away from the busy and noisy city. Situated next to a golf course with woods and all the pleasant sounds of the gentle wind blowing and birds singing to a new morning. Enjoyed the breakfast and juices.

great spot! basically ski-in/ski-out for Granite Peak. 10 min walk to the main lift (20 if you’re wearing your ski boots lol). excellent huge hot tub and nice sauna. good breakfast, friendly staff. will def come back anytime i go to Granite Peak.

First visit. A real gem of a hotel. I couldn't be happier about my visit. Very pleasing lobby/Lounge/Breakfast area. Very warm and welcoming. Lodge like decore is very well done. Check in was very fast and friendy. We arived early and were allowed to check in, which was very nice. Lovely rooms with excellent hot/cold controls. Which is important to me. The beds were excellent and the bathroom was superb. The sauna is the best I've seen anywhere. I also loved the outdoor hot tub which was very large. Again, one of the best I've seen. Breakfast was superb. It's a continental with nice extras. Literally steps from Granite Peak Ski Park. Great visit.

Our stay was very pleasant . Staff was very friendly and breakfast was very good .i believe there was alot of remodeling going on with hot tub or it was broke . First time i stayed at a hotel that didnt have staff and the lobby open all night,but overalll a Great experience !

This was an amazing place for our family to find last minute on a road trip. Our room was clean and cozy. The breakfast was great and we loved the extra touch of a cappuccino machine. We all agreed we would have loved to have stayed longer to explore the beauty of the area.

This property was very cute. It was clean but had the smell of an older place. Kind of musty. The room was also clean. The shower could use an update but it wasn’t a big deal. We were there for a girls weekend and were hoping to use the hot tub. Unfortunately it was closed for maintenance. Make sure to click the “read more” area when booking so that you know if it will be closed or not. It was closed all summer. We didn’t use or check out the sauna but the staff did tell us to give them 15 minutes notice if we wanted to use it so they could start it up. We also didn’t get to experience the breakfast as there was a family reunion that booked most rooms in the hotel. They did offer us a sheet to fill out and hand to them and then they would bring us out our breakfast but we just chose to go elsewhere. Overall this place was just what we needed for our trip minus being able to use the hot tub. I would probably stay there again.

The room was very nice and comfortable. There were no staff at the hotel. We choose this hotel and room specifically because it had a fireplace. We were surprised it was a wood burning fireplace but when we went to make a fire, there were a couple pieces of wood in the room and it said more could be purchased in the lobby. We searched for more wood and could not find any and with no one there to ask, we had no more wood. We found some cardboard and paper and were going to use the little wood we had but then the lighter didn't work either. So no fire. The hotel website and expedia also both advertise a hot tub and continental breakfast. Neither were available and there was no staff to talk to.

Dimly lit hallway plus small numbers on key entry very limiting for an exhausted 86 year old. Barbara was immediately helpful. Extremely slow sink drainage. Lovely, quiet setting.
