The hotel and the adjacent New York Cafe were architecturally magnificent! The room and spa amenities were top notch. The staff members were all helpful. The location was convenient and walkable to restaurants and landmarks. Only negative comment is that the elevators needed a sweep on a regular basis. Getting our breakfast orders were slow at times. . Otherwise, everything was great. We will definitely stay here again.

This is such a beautiful hotel with a convenient location. The New York Cafe is beautiful, and we enjoyed having breakfast and lunch without wading through the crowds. The spa is incredible, and the massage was one of the best I have received.

This is our favorite place in Budapest. We love The Poet Bar and the service is excellent. The pool and sauna is a great place to relax. The staff is very friendly. Highly recommend it we always have a great time. Thanks

The building was beautiful and it was a generally nice experience. The spa treatment I bought (massage) was sub-par and unprofessional. I was very disappointed with the massage, but the amenities were nice.

Hotellet er smukt og personalet er virkelig servicemindet og går en ekstra mil for at hjælpe dig med dine ønsker. Morgenmaden er fantastisk og i virkeligt smukke omgivelser. Vi fik aldrig prøvet hotellets spa, men deres gym var super veludstyret, rent og med gode faciliteter. Vores største udfordring var, at det første værelse vi fik (Superior room) i den gamle del af hotellet lugtede helt forfærdeligt. Vi fik uden problemer et nyt tilsvarende værelse i den nye del af hotellet. Desværre var vinduet defekt og kunne ikke lukkes helt, så der var meget trafikstøj hele natten og lyd fra skraldevognene om morgenen, samt et beusehovede der dryppede ned i badekarret med en høj lyd, så vi fik næsten ingen søvn. Næste morgen henvendte vi os i receptionen og fik straks en flot junior-suite i den gamle del af hotellet, lige over New York Café- natten var forfærdelig hem høj rumlen og skrigende bremser fra sporvognene, der kører og bremser lige uden for vinduet, næste morgen fik vi igen et nyt værelse, denne gang tilbage i den nye bygning. Endelig et roligt værelse uden ubehagelige lugte. Personalet gjorde alt for at imødekomme os og afhjælpe problemerne, men vær opmærksom på disse problemer ved bestilling.

El hotel es una joya de arquitectura, no así la habítación, situada en un 6to piso al que no llegaba el ascensor. No hubo limpieza del cuarto hasta la noche y solo cambiaron dos toallas.

The hotel was beautiful, but the room we were out in had not been cleaned properly, the floor was sticky with something that was previously spilled, previous guests shower pads we left in the shower, previous guests intimate gel was left open in the bathroom, and the bedside tables had a layer of dust. The balcony they also gave us looked like the back of a kitchen. We were moved rooms to a nicer room, but I was unbelievably disappointed that this was our experience with such an expensive and high rated hotel. As a VIP member we also got no benefits.

Only stayed here for one night after a disappointing experience in another hotel in the same area so we can’t say much, but we were absolutely amazed by the attentiveness and kindness of the staff. The service was excellent, the room was sparkling clean and everything was just perfect. Our trip in Budapest was fairly short but like I’ve said, after the disaster experienced in the other hotel, it is safe to say Anantara has saved our holiday!
Only stayed here for one night after a disappointing experience in another hotel in the same area so we can’t say much, but we were absolutely amazed by the attentiveness and kindness of the staff. The service was excellent, the room was sparkling clean and everything was just perfect. The hotel was really beautiful. We had a room with a terrace although i would say the step in and out of the room to the terrace was very steep and i bruised my leg on the side table which was very close to the door. I had high expectations for this property, but our stay was disappointing. At check-in, I was told no upgrades were available despite my status and online availability showing otherwise. The first room had a broken bathtub covered with a towel, a barely functioning shower, and non-working air conditioning. After reporting these issues, we were moved to an “upgraded” room, which unfortunately was also substandard, with dusty carpet, cobwebs, mismatched faucet knobs, and an entirely obstructed window view due to a plywood panel. In both rooms, the air conditioning did not work even when the heat was turned down to the lowest setting. We had to open the windows and let the cold winter air in for comfort. I want to acknowledge that the front desk supervisor did her best to improve our experience, and I genuinely appreciated her effort. However, the restaurant service further diminished our stay. Our servers displayed noticeable attitude and did not seem interested in providing attentive or welcoming service. Overall, the experience fell far below the standards expected of a luxury hotel.

No walk in shower. The tub is a death trap. Slick as ice and big step Down to slick as ice floor. Eventually noticed a plastic step under cabinet I presume for this. Had outdoor terrace which was great to enjoy cigar on. Bed a little hard. Great breakfast and beautiful hotel. Staff were amazing!

Wonderful hotel in central Budapest. Only complaints are the air conditioner did not get our room below about 76 degrees even when cranked all the way up for 2 days, and the hotel is on a very busy street so quite noisy.

Surclassé dans une chambre immense (+40m2) mais donnant sur le boulevard. Malgré les doubles vitrages et la surfenetre, le bruit la nuit est infernal : choc métallique du tramway, ambulances et vehicules de police nombreux avec sirènes hurlantes (rien a voir avec notre doux "pimpom" francais). Éviter côté boulevard, si vous êtes sensible au bruit. Demander à changer. Cela m\'a été agréablement proposé mais je repartais. Pour la piscine au niveau du SPA elle est "medicale" donc 1,2m de fond. Ce n\'est pas pour nager... Personnel bienveillant et très agréable. Rapport qualité prix parfait en oubliant ce problème de boulevard.

Hotellet er smukt og personalet er virkelig servicemindet og går en ekstra mil for at hjælpe dig med dine ønsker. Morgenmaden er fantastisk og i virkeligt smukke omgivelser. Vi fik aldrig prøvet hotellets spa, men deres gym var super veludstyret, rent og med gode faciliteter. Vores største udfordring var, at det første værelse vi fik (Superior room) i den gamle del af hotellet lugtede helt forfærdeligt. Vi fik uden problemer et nyt tilsvarende værelse i den nye del af hotellet. Desværre var vinduet defekt og kunne ikke lukkes helt, så der var meget trafikstøj hele natten og lyd fra skraldevognene om morgenen, samt et beusehovede der dryppede ned i badekarret med en høj lyd, så vi fik næsten ingen søvn. Næste morgen henvendte vi os i receptionen og fik straks en flot junior-suite i den gamle del af hotellet, lige over New York Café- natten var forfærdelig hem høj rumlen og skrigende bremser fra sporvognene, der kører og bremser lige uden for vinduet, næste morgen fik vi igen et nyt værelse, denne gang tilbage i den nye bygning. Endelig et roligt værelse uden ubehagelige lugte. Personalet gjorde alt for at imødekomme os og afhjælpe problemerne, men vær opmærksom på disse problemer ved bestilling.

The building is stunning inside and out. Our room (grand room city view) was enormous and well worth spending a little more; the walk in wardrobe was a very pleasant and welcome surprise. The spa has its own elevator; the pool, saunas and staff were very welcoming after a long day sightseeing. All staff around the hotel are very attentive, helpful and quick in all that they do, the breakfast area is truly beautiful and the hot menu has a fair amount in addition to the buffet. It is located less than a minute from the metro (M2), buses and trams, which can generally get you to a tourist location within 15 mins or less. I would definitely stay here again, a lovely experience and a great treat to yourself!

I stayed at the Anantara New York Palace Budapest and overall, the experience was very good. The building’s architecture is absolutely stunning, full of charm. The common areas are gorgeous, elegant, and very well maintained. The New York Café, located within the hotel, is opulent and truly a destination in itself. Our room (#555) was spacious, clean, and the bed was very comfortable. Attention to design and upkeep is evident throughout the property. That said, there were a few issues that detracted from the overall experience. First, the bathroom design is flawed. The shower is inside a very high bathtub, which makes it difficult and even dangerous to get in and out of. There’s no proper grab bar where it’s needed — strangely, it was installed on the wrong side. It’s a clear design oversight. It’s also illogical that a bathroom of that size only has a single sink. Additionally, the door to the toilet area kept sticking and was difficult to open and close properly. The air conditioning never cooled the room properly, even after maintenance came and changed the filter. On the service side, we requested a late check-out and were granted an extra hour, which we appreciated. However, housekeeping knocked on our door twice before the new check-out time — it seemed they were never informed of the extension, which was frustrating and made us feel rushed. Overall, a beautiful hotel with a lot of potential, but some design and communication issues that should be addressed.

The service from the entire staff was exceptional. When we encountered a mechanical issue with our room, Juhasz Virag the guest manager upgraded our room, comped breakfast, gave us a departure box of chocolates and had the kitchen prepare a snack for our flight. She went above and beyond to provide exceptional service. We travel the world staying in the finest hotels and this hotel and service ranks up there with the best. We also took advantage of the spa including massages. Leona in the spa provided one of the best massages I have ever experienced. Incredible!! This was our 2nd visit to Budapest, we love this city, and if we return, we will be staying again at the Anantara in a junior suite.

I booked this particular hotel for ease of access to the New York Cafe and because previous stays at Anantara properties have been great. Sadly, this property does not live up to the Anantara name. We registered our details early (ID, credit card) but at 1500 the person who was then on the desk was unable to find us a room then the correct bed configuration. Our balcony was not the old stone style as pictured, instead it was littered with old cigarette butts in the gutter, hardly 5 star. To be fair, the girl who did the initial registration did offer to change our room, we declined as we’d unpacked, but it was nice of her. In the evening we requested ice. 1 hour and 2 calls later, we went to the bar to get ice and upon returning to the room, room service called to apologise to say the ice machine was broken. Really? Don’t lie to cover up incompetence. The bell boys were exceptional. NY cafe is overrated, terrible service and mediocre food. Perhaps I expect too much as my last stay in BUD was at the Gresham Palace, but I thought I could rely on the Anantara brand. Having said that, the bed was heavenly.

Das Hotel ist an sich sehr sauber und sehr schön. Bis auf das Personal an der Rezeption konnte der Rest kein Englisch und somit nicht sehr hilfreich. Das Frühstücksbuffet war eine Katastrophe. Unsere Getränke kamen einfach 30 min später und die Kellner haben nicht die Gastronomische Ausbildung gehabt, so kam es uns persönlich vor. Resumé: Ein luxuriöses Hotel, jedoch für so ein hohe Preisklasse haben wir um einiges mehr erwartet.

We stayed here for 2 nights prior to boarding our river cruise. This hotel is very beautiful. Our room was clean,spacious and very comfortable. The evening turndown was unexpected😁. We had breakfast in the breakfast room. Don't ask me what I had - I was too busy taking in the most beautiful baroque architecture and decorations! The only negative was that we waited for over 10 minutes in the rather quiet sitting area for a waiter to take our drinks order and ended up walking out. A waiter came through a number of times but never saw us when we waved.

I have never stayed in a hotel with such accommodating staff. They truly went above and beyond from the bellhops to reception to the waitstaff in the bar. The attached restaurant is a busy tourist attraction, but hotel guests were welcomed immediately.

Wonderful hotel in central Budapest. Only complaints are the air conditioner did not get our room below about 76 degrees even when cranked all the way up for 2 days, and the hotel is on a very busy street so quite noisy.

We stayed here during a 3 day visit of Budapest. Can’t say enough good things about the hotel. Beautiful architecturally. Friendly service. Beautiful clean rooms. The hotel is placed in a very continent area. Transportation to around the city is found with in one block walking distance. Plenty of options for breakfast, lunch and dinner close by. Nightlife in the area is great. Lots of cool bars. Very cool indoor pool in the basement with a sauna as well. We also paid for one morning breakfast in the cafe. It’s expensive but worth the experience.

Excellent 5 star hotel, centrally located with the famous New York Cafe in the building. Lovely lobby, excellent room, we were very happy with this hotel. The location is good while hardly the most beautiful sector of the city. We learned that wherever we wanted to go in the city was a 10 dollar euro ride away:)

1st. the breakfast was a big downer, with intrusion from visitors to the grand café, that was opened to hotel guests as well as for visitors from the street, taking pictures all the time, which bothered me a lot. Didn't feel like I was in a private place for the hotel guests. It was noisy and agitated to the point I could not enjoy it, so I did not take the breakfast at the hotel the following day. I asked the guest service to remove the breakfast from my room bill, and it was denied, which is rude and uncommon from a 5 star hotel, from service standpoint for a hotel at this level. Air conditioning was intermittent so it was hot inside the room suite at nights. The area around the hotel is not very nice, quite a rundown city center. For these reasons I can say that It was not resting or relaxing vacationing as I expected it to be. I couldnt sleep well or have proper calm breakfast. I wouldnt be back.

It was a beautiful big room! However, I wasn’t able to sleep my whole stay! I could hear every step, doors opening and closing and people and many other random noise! It was a beautiful big room! However, I wasn’t able to sleep my whole stay! I could hear every step, doors opening and closing and people and many other random noise! Rummet var rent men små handdukarna luktade surt. Personalen var helt fantastiska, frukosten var en dröm, jag saknade absolut ingenting. Tyvärr hade vi inte tid för att nyttja spa avdelningen denna gång, Men vi kommer tillbaka

The greatest privilege to being a guest here is to have breakfast every morning in the NY Cafe, but the property as whole is lovely, well-maintained and beautiful. They have a pool in a cave that helps a lot at the end of a long day. But it is important to notice the hotel is in a more commercial and not sou touristic area of the city. At the same time, we have asked for a room with balcony and they showed pictures of the old building with limited but nice views... but what they gave us was a balcony with views to the chimneys of the hotel's kitchen, at the far end of a new building.
