It’s a two floor hotel with no elevator. So I did not like that. They did not want us to carry our bags or herself to the room and instead we had to get a person to carry them up the stairs for us who we then had to tip. Otherwise, the place was beautiful. There is a wedding reception going on, we had dinner at the restaurant and it was wonderful. The room was excellent. Updated air-conditioning and heat system bathroom was wonderful with a walk-in shower with both a rain showerhead and a regular handle showerhead.

The stay would have been near perfect, however the room doors slam so hard they make you jump! You can actually feel them slamming, so they wake you if people are coming in late or leaving early. Other issue is if you chose to stay because they have a pool, as i did, you need to bring your own padlock for the lockers!! Who carrys their own padlock!?

Arrival was slightly challenging in that they charged us £31 more than the booking platform quoted and even after sending evidence by email, they still didn’t fix it (we had to have another conversation about it at check out in order to get refunded). But all staff were very pleasant, especially in the bar/restaurant area. We were given drinks vouchers to celebrate our 10yr anniversary which was a kind gesture. Bed was very comfortable; shower was brilliant (though I do miss the days when hotels had baths); leisure facilities were clean and functional if a little small and at times, crowded (despite needing to book a slot to use them). Breakfast spread was plentiful, lots of options, but it would be worth someone looking at why there are so many flies in the coffee station area. There was a wedding on the Saturday so very loud music coming out of the function room into the bar area in the evening, but it’s a hotel in summer, what do you expect? Plus our room was situated far away so only an issue while dining/drinking. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

Great hotel! We visited the restaurant for dinner and breakfast. At both times the food was great. It was lovely to have the spa facilities. This hotel was clean wherever you go. All the staff are polite and happy to help.

Hotel ok, restaurant like cafe in Asda but 3 times the price and they just lost a customer when they charged me to park in the car park when i had just paid £100 to stay there and left £60 in the restaurant.

Overall the hotel looks great in the reception and dining areas. The decor in the halls and rooms was a little dated but still okay. The staff were brilliant and very nice and knowledgeable. The cooked food was excellent, both breakfast and dinner. Kids eating for free was a definite perk and attraction. Towels were available to use just for swimming which was good. The Gym and the gym equipment was fantastic, although there was a mass of personal training going on at too, this didn’t impact the use of machines or free weights. The negatives: Swimming required booking but this isn’t stated online Parking cost £5 a night, which is on the expensive side for a hotel not in a city centre location. The swimming pool was segregated into lanes. One dedicated to swimming lessons, something not mentioned to guests. One or two allocated to people wanting to swim “swim lane” and then whatever is left over to the “family area” which at some points was one lanes width with approximately 10 people trying to use this area with kids whilst the “swim lane” which was two lanes width (swim lessons taking the last lanes width) had only 1-3 people in it at a time. This was rather disappointing and would put us off returning when there are other hotels with pools in the immediate area.

There is a major refurbishment being carried out which, if we had known we would have delayed our booking. Our room was excellent as newly done but the restaurant etc had been moved to a small room. The jacuzzi was out of order in the spa which was disappointing. However the staff were helpful and pleasant.

Lovely hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. The shower wouldn’t empty so hubby had to clear out the drain of hair. The tiles in the shower were clean but the grout wasn’t. Meals were expensive but tasted good.

On arrival I asked for a fridge to be placed in my room. Last time I asked it was delivered within 5 minutes, but this time it never arrived. Also the room was not sufficiently cleaned, with the bathroom floor sticky from previous use and cobwebs on the ceiling.

The comfiest bed we have ever slept in - from the matress to the pillows & quilt it was all so good we didn't want to out if it! Shower was lovely and aircon in the room was definitely a huge plus point. Friendly service and food was good at breakfast too. Room and bathroom was cleaned to a high standard. Didn't use the pool so not sure but sure it's lovely too

What an amazing hotel. Everything very clean & modern. We only stayed for one night but would definitely use again. The staff were all lovely, smiling & very helpful with our onward journey. We ate in the restaurant, the food was very well presented & tasty, maybe slighty over priced. Cocktails were reasonable and well made. Thank you for a most enjoyable stay!

It would be helpful if on the website it said what kind of bathroom you had with each room. I booked a twin (for myself and my Dad) and it had a bath. I'm disabled and can't climb over the side of the bath, the double and family rooms have a shower. This makes no sense to me, why not have a mix of both? I'm sure there are couples and families who would prefer a bath. Other than that everything was great.

Basically, I enjoyed my stay here, and I have been going to this hotel on and off, for about 20 years, when it was a Holiday Inn. This time, the Reception staff, as always, were amazing, very friendly and helpful. However, one of the restaurant staff reprimanded us, for sitting at a table for 4, when we were a party of 2, for breakfast one morning, which I thought a bit rude, when they had previously directed us to one 2 person table next to an infant, playing music and noisy games on a tablet, and another table in direct sunlight

So we stayed as a mum and daughter with my two boys, we had a family room with a double bed , 2 single sofa beds and a cot and there was still plenty of room. The only downside was that the mattress on one of th sofa beds was very uncomfortable and left my mum with a bad back . When we spoke to the receptionist about it the only response we got was oh sorry but they are meant for children. So clearly the expectation was for myself and my mum to share a bed , which we haven't done in a number of years. There could be a vast diverse number of people coming to stay that may not wish to stay in a bed together and the answer to the problem was not acceptable that it's for children only.

So we stayed as a mum and daughter with my two boys, we had a family room with a double bed , 2 single sofa beds and a cot and there was still plenty of room. The only downside was that the mattress on one of th sofa beds was very uncomfortable and left my mum with a bad back . When we spoke to the receptionist about it the only response we got was oh sorry but they are meant for children. So clearly the expectation was for myself and my mum to share a bed , which we haven't done in a number of years. Recently refurbished hotel, well equipped room. Restaurant was good, if a little on the expensive side. The stand out from our stay were the staff, from check in to restaurant, to bar, to leisure facilities, all were extremely helpful, friendly and just made such a good impression.

Arrival was slightly challenging in that they charged us £31 more than the booking platform quoted and even after sending evidence by email, they still didn’t fix it (we had to have another conversation about it at check out in order to get refunded). But all staff were very pleasant, especially in the bar/restaurant area. We were given drinks vouchers to celebrate our 10yr anniversary which was a kind gesture. Bed was very comfortable; shower was brilliant (though I do miss the days when hotels had baths); leisure facilities were clean and functional if a little small and at times, crowded (despite needing to book a slot to use them). Breakfast spread was plentiful, lots of options, but it would be worth someone looking at why there are so many flies in the coffee station area. There was a wedding on the Saturday so very loud music coming out of the function room into the bar area in the evening, but it’s a hotel in summer, what do you expect? Plus our room was situated far away so only an issue while dining/drinking. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

On arrival I asked for a fridge to be placed in my room. Last time I asked it was delivered within 5 minutes, but this time it never arrived. Also the room was not sufficiently cleaned, with the bathroom floor sticky from previous use and cobwebs on the ceiling.

Now a VOCO - I try to seek these out when staying away for work and would not avoid them for leisure either. Always 10/10 clean, service is friendly and helpful, options for food are good, and, the bar always has a good atmosphere. Great stay.

My mother and I stayed in one of the twin rooms. We where greeted at reception by Gracie, who was delightful, allowing us to check in earlier than expected. Later on the evening Josseb, was very helpful in explaining and downloading Uber onto my mobile, no task or request was ever to much trouble. The dining, again all the staff are so happy and helpful, my mother was made to feel very comfortable and special. Our twin room was gorgeous, fantastic bed, crisp white linen, a fridge and safe too. All very clean and comfortable. We will definitely recommended to all our friends and family, and will definitely be returning. Thank you to everyone. June.

Friendly and helpful staff and a nice location. Well positioned for major road networks but still quiet and relaxed. My only criticism would be that the restaurant could do with being a little warmer, breakfast tended to cool off before I’d finished eating.

Staff were fantastic. Room was spacious and we made bookings for evening meal, breakfast and swimming. Evening meal wasnt great for the price and the burgers had to be sent back for sauce. Breakfast was a buffet and great, food was fresh. Swimming pool and facilities are easy to use too. Holly on reception was amazing, kids had milk and cookies, spun the wheel in reception and won chocolates. Would recommend if you are crusing from Southampton or if you visit Portsmouth etc.

Lovely hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. The shower wouldn’t empty so hubby had to clear out the drain of hair. The tiles in the shower were clean but the grout wasn’t. Meals were expensive but tasted good.

The reception and service was perfect as always, have stayed many time at this venue. Only thing I wouldn’t do next time is stay for breakfast. Most of the hot food was cold and unable to eat. Never had a bad meal previously, other than the cold food, a great stay.

What an amazing hotel. Everything very clean & modern. We only stayed for one night but would definitely use again. The staff were all lovely, smiling & very helpful with our onward journey. We ate in the restaurant, the food was very well presented & tasty, maybe slighty over priced. Cocktails were reasonable and well made. Thank you for a most enjoyable stay!

Disabled Traveller Review - We stayed in accessible room (101) which was very good. Massive room, plenty of sockets, a fridge, steamer, hairdryer, all excellent. The only issues we had was the bed was too soft, so hard to get in and out of if your mobility isn't good and the carpet is too thick to wheel a wheelchair easily around. The bathroom was great (so big we could have held a party in there!), but the floor is a real health risk, like a skating rink when wet and the toilet was way too low for a disabled toilet. However, despite my little niggles, it was easily one of the best accessible rooms i've been in and with breakfast included and access to the swimming pool, I will most definitely be back - just make sure you bring shower shoes.
