The Bulkeley is such a lovely place to stay. Perfect location right on the sea with gorgeous views. The hotel was genuinely dog friendly and our dogs had a fantastic time. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. We will be back for sure!

We stayed for one night, it’s a beautiful Victorian building both inside & out but could do with a little update. The rooms were clean & comfortable but the back of the bathroom door & bath panel needed a repaint as paint was scratched & peeling off. Great choice of breakfast & cooked to order, car park is first come, first served but there is a large car park over the road so no issues there. Would stay there again & would try to get a sea view next time.

The place is really tired and falling to bits in places, which is a shame as it could be lovely. Dirty and needs a huge update. We booked online and saw dog friendly yet when we arrived were told no dogs in our room.. we then had to make alternative arrangements for our dog then they tried to charge us for a dog. No mention of this at booking either

Stunning period building inside and out in a great picturesque location right on the front and also close to local shops with great walks on your doorstep. Staff members are very friendly, courteous and professional throughout and go above and beyond to cater to your needs. Food options are plenty and the breakfast was made to order with continental options also provided. Breakfast was very fresh and tasted great. Nice little gift shop on site and the hotel is also dog friendly which was nice to see. Hotel provides a separate dining area for guests with pets. Plenty of parking in the hotel but also plent opposite the hotel if the hotel car park gets full. I couldn't park in the hotel due to very late at night arrival, however, I had no issues parking and I was about 20ft away from the hotel car park. Beds are really comfy and facilities offered in the room are in abundance. The room did get a little warm in the evening but opening the window a little bit solved the issue. This did increase the chances of road noise, however, it didn't interfere with sleep. Overall, great hotel and location and I would definitely consider staying again for a longer period.

We had a superior room which had a great view but the room was dusty and dated. The whole hotel looked shabby and in dire need of updating. We were unable to park and had to find a car park, we ended up some distance away. The evening meal was excellent but the breakfast was not so good, with very poor sausages. We were not advised of the breakfast menu.

Nice hotel, friendly helpful staff, huge room with large comfortable bed. Modern bathroom with wet room area around shower. Excellent menu with discount for guests and their visitors automatically applied to whole bill. Excellent breakfast menu. Very reasonable room rates. Small hotel car park but lots of alternative parking close by. 24 hours only cost £6. Nice location with great views.

The location is perfect and the sea view terrace is lovely. The building is very grand - grade one listed. The staff were friendly but on the one occasion I asked for my room to be cleaned the bathroom wasn’t re-supplied and the basin not cleaned. The windows in the bathroom were jammed shut - a fan was supplied, which only circulated the warm air in the room. Continental breakfast was ok and the service was good but the bacon was so tough it was inedible. The price was good value for the location.

This is a lovely hotel. From the moment we arrived there staff were super friendly. The room (the Victoria Suite) was beautiful with stunning sea views. Super clean and well stocked. Breakfast and evening meals were very well prepared and huge portions! I liked that dogs were allowed (Although we didn’t take ours). Beaumaris itself is a delight, probably more so with us being there out of season.

The area is beautiful and the area is amazing for a quiet weekend away. The hotel staff were very nice, although the hotel itself could do with some redecorating, areas of paintwork very tired and carpets threadbare

Location second to none. History of property and area.Food quality very good.nice to have bottled water supplied in room and nice toiletries. Our room 120 looked out on to extractors; flat roof;ladder and was very dark,probably the worst room in the hotel.dirty glasses with lipstick on them in bedroom.All windows around hotel and room were grubby and may seem a small point but way have a van full of dry hotel rubbish parked in the car park constantly so that it’s the first thing you see from the restaurant!

Room was very dark window covered by fire escape. The room itself was good they said it was because we booked on line and not direct we had been allocated this room lesson learned no money or conpensation so beware and book direct

Rooms were vary hot, even with sash window open at night. Then there was noise from the street. Slow service at the bar. Breakfasts were fabulous and very big. No faults on breakfast

We found this hotel to be old and tired. The floor boards seriously creaked. It could do with a thorough make over . It is a beautiful area with sea and mountain views.

Excellent location overlooking the water. Booked 2 four poster sea view rooms. Both large with excellent views. Room decor dated, expecially bathroom in lower floor room very disappointing shower and was just bit shabby. Beds really comfy. Breakfast pretty poor selection, unless included in the room price would go to quay cafe next door. Hotel generally but shabby and cluttered needs complete update especially for price paid. Staff were all friendly and excellent.

Very pleasant stay, the room was clean, tidy and had everything I needed. The Staff were very helpful and polite The breakfast was very good and the Restaurant was good with a decent menu and good food cooked nicely

The hotel and room were adequate The receptionist was applauding suggesting that I hadn’t checked my reservation and dog facilities. She made NO effort to assist me in my request for a shower which is not in the bath. I explained that I had injury sustained as a soldier serving. She said no shower had been requested, plainly NOT so. But for the 6 hour drive home I would have left and driven. Disappointed as i have stayed regularly

Nice hotel good location,service at evening meal was terrible! We were left waiting for 45 minutes without even been offered a drink,and then we had to call the waiter over! we then had to wait a further 15 minutes until our meal eventually arrived...Nothing by way of compensation offered....very poor!!!

Great location. Evening meal, lovely food well cooked. Great breakfast. Overall stay very enjoyable. Mix up with bill at the end of the stay was rectified quickly. Would recommend.

Great location. Evening meal, lovely food well cooked. Great breakfast. Overall stay very enjoyable. Mix up with bill at the end of the stay was rectified quickly. Would recommend.

Had a lovely 1 night stay at this historic hotel. The interiors are dated but that is part of the charm. The staff were so helpful and friendly, we had an upgrade on our room because hotels.com had overbooked and the staff were very good about it. The room and bed were comfortable, but the kettle was a bit rubbish and not convenient to use (it was connected to the plug which was behind the television) The breakfast was pretty average, not the best but you had enough options. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend if you need somewhere in the area.

This hotel is a gem, from the welcome at reception, lovely rooms and the food is first class. We had a lovely relaxed stay, location is superb with beautiful views across the strait to Snowdonia, and in the centre of Beaumaris with stunning castle, and lovely shops.

A taste of the past subtly being updated. Plenty of seating areas to pause and take in the nostalgia within the hotel. Located right on on the sea front with viewing areas to sit and observe the passing masses. Not cheap but you get a bit of everything and a touch of class

Excellent location overlooking the water. Booked 2 four poster sea view rooms. Both large with excellent views. Room decor dated, expecially bathroom in lower floor room very disappointing shower and was just bit shabby. Beds really comfy. Breakfast pretty poor selection, unless included in the room price would go to quay cafe next door. Hotel generally but shabby and cluttered needs complete update especially for price paid. Staff were all friendly and excellent.

This Hotel is in a Beautiful setting. Lovely shops close by, Castle,Easy Parking. The food was absolutely fantastic and plentiful lots of variety. The Cafe had a good Selection of cakes. Staff are Amazing, we were very well looked after.

We loved our room with the view over the Menai strait to the mountains. This was a nice place to relax with a lovely coffee house. The breakfast didn't have a lot of choice but was fine. The evening meals were nice but menu always stayed the same - could do with more choice.

Nice hotel good location,service at evening meal was terrible! We were left waiting for 45 minutes without even been offered a drink,and then we had to call the waiter over! we then had to wait a further 15 minutes until our meal eventually arrived...Nothing by way of compensation offered....very poor!!!

The staff and food were really good at The Bulkeley but the hotel itself is really quite shabby. It is in desperate need of redecorating and new furnishings.

We had a superior room which had a great view but the room was dusty and dated. The whole hotel looked shabby and in dire need of updating. We were unable to park and had to find a car park, we ended up some distance away. The evening meal was excellent but the breakfast was not so good, with very poor sausages. We were not advised of the breakfast menu.

You can see the improvement taking place, as regular visitors we appreciated the return of breakfast service not buffet, decoration especially main entrance and landing etc. Unfortunately the room we stayed in (and have had that room several times previously) needs further updates especially an electric shower and bathroom upgrade. Short staffed in housekeeping so room not cleaned daily etc, despite staff trying their best, this included room not being ready on arrival. We look forward to returning to see more improvements.

Overall, I would say this hotel is slightly over priced. However, that being said the value lies with the staff and location. The hotel as a whole is pretty decent. (It was) well decorated and kind of feels special. Although when looking closely, you’ll see a bitt of maintenance is required here and there. Rooms were spacious and included an ironing board and iron (2 lots actually lol) which I always appreciate. The location is second to none. The shops and castle one side and the pier/sea the other. The staff are also top tier. When communicating on e-mail, friendly, considerate and professional. In person, exactly the same with humour to boot! From the young lads to the older ladies I met - all 10/10 (apologies I didn’t get any names for a shout out).

Lovely olde worlde hotel with interesting history and excellent location. Right next to the castle which is also worth a visit. Food at breakfast and dinner was excellent too. The only problems are the seagulls which screech all night, steal your ice cream and cover the cars in poo.

Staff friendly and helpful. Food was good quality and very tasty. Facilities good and you do expect the odd issue with an old, historic and protected building however the lift being out of order for at least a week (not working when we left) did cause some guests real problems

Lovely staff and location excellent. Hotel a little tired but everything was in the rooms e.g. Kettle, hair dryer etc. Only gave 3 stars as the bed was uncomfortable. It was a memory form mattress around 4 inches so when you sat on the bed you sat straight on the diven hard board.
