Wow wow wow!!! The description doesn't do it justice, Nothing less than laying your own eyes on it will do! This place is a locals staycation dream and for me and my partner (first time big Island visitors) it was PARADISE! The wonderful people who run the property do an amazing job of making it an experience to remember. We Enjoyed endless fun on their private trail munched on countless fruits some we've never tried and were cut up and served special for us ❤️❤️❤️❤️. There's so much wildlife to boot and On our very last morning walking back up the trail we got to see DOLPHINS! This place is nothing short of spectacular. Full disclaimer if you don't like the sounds of the jungle don't visit the jungle. Cannot wait to come back they definitely deserve TEN BIG BIG Stars ⭐⭐⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Gorgeous surroundings and view, gorgeous room, gorgeous seven course dinner that was included. Watched whales spouting from our private balcony and also from the infinity pool. Valerie was an amazing host. We loved everything and we want to come back.

Absolutely delightful stay. The property is beautiful. The staff is very nice and super helpful. The happy hour and dinner were wonderful. Time spent at the pool and spa was peaceful and relaxing. Would definitely stay there again.

Val was the GM there when we stayed and she did a great job with everything. She gave us local recommendations for things to do. The room had a beautiful view of the water. There is a little trail to walk to this secluded beach with breathtaking sunrises. They catered a very nice 7 course meal one night for the guest and it was delightful. It all felt like an upscale bed and breakfast. Great secluded getaway.

* It is so peaceful and quiet. The ocean can be heard, but is not overwhelming from loud crashing waves. * The chef prepared evening meal is awesome (7-courses)! * We are animal lovers, so we enjoyed the company of the resident dogs and cat. * We enjoyed the pool, hot tub, red light sauna, and the cold bath. * The breakfast was very good. We had special quiche (egg bites) prepared without dairy. Excellent! We would definitely stay here again!!!!

Small boutique hotel, only about 8 (nice) rooms. Ocean sunrise views. Nice dinner included 3 nights per week. Infinity pool. Accommodating staff. About 15 minutes from Hilo but otherwise nothing much in the immediate area. No swimming beach but you can walk down to the coast to watch the waves. Very quiet, but we were the only guests the week we visited.

Beautiful view and property with a nice walk to the rock beach. Room is very nice. Water didn't work for one of the evenings which was unfortunate as the shower and bath were part of why we selected this location. Staff was as quick to fix it as they could... unfortunately running out of water is not an easy fix. I appreciate them responding quickly but not having running water for part of the stay knocks it down a bit.

We wanted to split up our Big Island stay between the Hilo side and the Kona side. Could not find a better place for Hilo side. Hotel is new, clean and comfortable. Staff is EXCELLENT. Property is small and we got to know staff, owners and guests on a personal basis. Very “homey” feel. Hated to leave but off to Kona!

We had the best time at Hamakua hotel. First, the manager was very accomodating and generous. The room was beautiful, big, clean, with big windows - so relaxing. And we had the chance to attend the surprise dinner on tuesday night. It was unbelievable. Truly, one of the best dinners in my life. We were amazed and so grateful. The Hamakua hotel is a pricey place to stay, but for the experience that we had, it was all worth it. Beyond expectations. We truly recommend it!

It was a nice stay, very different and private. We loved the room and the view, saw dolphins from the porch and enjoyed the trail down to the beach and a very nice dinner on 1 evening. So, you will have a good time there when you book it. Downer I need to mention is the price overall. It’s way to expensive for what you get, directly on the freeway, dinner only Tue/Fr and Sat and a minimal breakfast is included. You need to drive to local stores for the rest, which is fine but not convenient. We enjoyed it, however this

Beautiful view and property with a nice walk to the rock beach. Room is very nice. Water didn't work for one of the evenings which was unfortunate as the shower and bath were part of why we selected this location. Staff was as quick to fix it as they could... unfortunately running out of water is not an easy fix. I appreciate them responding quickly but not having running water for part of the stay knocks it down a bit.

Lovely property with amazing view. Rooms are elegant and comfortable. Onsite manager was very accommodating with excellent attention to detail. Things feel apart for me with the evening events. Chefs didn't track allergy notifications for me or other guests at the time, and I felt like the owners only invested time in individuals that they could relate to. For the rate, they need to be more equally inclusive.

We wanted to split up our Big Island stay between the Hilo side and the Kona side. Could not find a better place for Hilo side. Hotel is new, clean and comfortable. Staff is EXCELLENT. Property is small and we got to know staff, owners and guests on a personal basis. Very “homey” feel. Hated to leave but off to Kona!

We had the best time at Hamakua hotel. First, the manager was very accomodating and generous. The room was beautiful, big, clean, with big windows - so relaxing. And we had the chance to attend the surprise dinner on tuesday night. It was unbelievable. Truly, one of the best dinners in my life. We were amazed and so grateful. The Hamakua hotel is a pricey place to stay, but for the experience that we had, it was all worth it. Beyond expectations. We truly recommend it!

Almost a 10/10 Difficultly with transportation without a car Dinner at hotel when available was wonderful but otherwise need to be resourceful and comfortable to go with the flow (again without transpiration) as you cannot walk to anything, but also what makes it such a great place. Val was the GM there when we stayed and she did a great job with everything. She gave us local recommendations for things to do. The room had a beautiful view of the water. There is a little trail to walk to this secluded beach with breathtaking sunrises. They catered a very nice 7 course meal one night for the guest and it was delightful. It all felt like an upscale bed and breakfast. Great secluded getaway.

I was blown away by this property! Everything about it made us feel exclusive. We were greeted by Valerie and she escorted us to our room and gave us an overview of the grounds. You are in the middle of paradise, overlooking the ocean. There was a very nice breakfast every morning and we had the most amazing 6 course diner cooked by a private chef!! I had my first beef wellington and baked Alaska and it was to die for. We were about 15 minutes away from Hilo and about 5 minutes away from a cute eating/ shopping strip (btw.... try The Hive & Birria Boss.. you won't be disappointed). Akaka Falls and the Botanical Garden are also about 10 minutes away. This hotel and the special homey/ local feeling of Hilo has us wanting to make this an annual trip! Wow wow wow!!! The description doesn't do it justice, Nothing less than laying your own eyes on it will do! This place is a locals staycation dream and for me and my partner (first time big Island visitors) it was PARADISE! The wonderful people who run the property do an amazing job of making it an experience to remember. We Enjoyed endless fun on their private trail munched on countless fruits some we've never tried and were cut up and served special for us ❤️❤️❤️❤️. There's so much wildlife to boot and On our very last morning walking back up the trail we got to see DOLPHINS! This place is nothing short of spectacular. Full disclaimer if you don't like the sounds of the jungle don't visit the jungle. Cannot wait to come back they definitely deserve TEN BIG BIG Stars ⭐⭐⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Small boutique hotel, only about 8 (nice) rooms. Ocean sunrise views. Nice dinner included 3 nights per week. Infinity pool. Accommodating staff. About 15 minutes from Hilo but otherwise nothing much in the immediate area. No swimming beach but you can walk down to the coast to watch the waves. Very quiet, but we were the only guests the week we visited.

The ocean can be heard, but is not overwhelming from loud crashing waves. * The chef prepared evening meal is awesome (7-courses)! * We are animal lovers, so we enjoyed the company of the resident dogs and cat. * We enjoyed the pool, hot tub, red light sauna, and the cold bath. * The breakfast was very good. We had special quiche (egg bites) prepared without dairy. Excellent! We would definitely stay here again!!!!

The staff is exceptional, going above and beyond by arranging a cake from a local bakery and a handmade lei for my husband’s birthday. They even provided us with fresh and locally sourced snacks for our early mornings when we couldn’t make breakfast. The food is outstanding! The Friday night chef tasting and Saturday BBQ surpassed any local restaurants and offerings from larger resorts on other islands. The personalized, attentive chef boasts a creative palate and beautiful plating. Our room was clean, safe, and comfortable, with stunning ocean views, and the property grounds feature a peaceful garden and a jungle walkway to the water. Relaxing, laid-back, with upscale touches and high-quality food, this is the perfect Hawaiian getaway! A must-stay on the Big Island! Small boutique hotel, only about 8 (nice) rooms. Ocean sunrise views. Nice dinner included 3 nights per week. Infinity pool. Accommodating staff. About 15 minutes from Hilo but otherwise nothing much in the immediate area. No swimming beach but you can walk down to the coast to watch the waves. Very quiet, but we were the only guests the week we visited.

The Hamakua was amazing. It was everything you could want in a boutique hotel. The grounds are beautiful and immaculately kept. The every room has an incredible view of gardens overlooking the Pacific. The staff, Belle and Sabrina were the best, If you are there for one of Chef Joseph’s meals don’t miss it!

Herrliches Hotel in einem Herrenhaus mit Annex, Blick aufs Meer, dezentes Meeresrauschen nachts, wunderschöner tropischer Garten, gute Parkmöglichkeit, abgeschlossenes Gelände, große überdachte Lounge, 2-3 Mal pro Woche gibt es ein kreatives Menü je nach Fischfang etc., Salzwasserpool mit Sauna, alles sehr gepflegt und mit Stil. Jedes Zimmer mit großem Balon oder Terrasse. A hidden gem.

とても素晴らしい体験ができました。 お洒落な朝食付き、こだわりのディナーもとても美味しかったです。 英語が堪能でないのでそれが少々負担でした。 残念ながらホットタブが故障のため使用できませんででした。スタッフの方が謝ってくれました。 こちらから提案しましたがその分少し返金がありました。 素敵なホテルで大満足でした💕

I had an amazing experience at this hotel. The room was phenomenal— from the decor to the amenities to the view! The breakfast prepared by Chef Joseph every morning was delicious, and was the perfect beginning for every day. It was fresh and tasty. The Friday night dinner was also prepared with so much thought and intention, each plate was so yummy and presented beautifully. We also loved the hot tub, it was a nice way to end our evening after exploring Hawai’i. Next time in town I’ll be back!
