Just Old and musty never had an upgrade since it was built the water from the AC above would drip down from upstairs when you walk out of the room and 1/2 of the rooms are NOT IN USE! boarded up..

Sink was clogged and even though they mention a pool iscwas empty.

Loved the cleanliness of the pool and the room. Friendly, accommodating staff- we were allowed to check out an 1.5 later because our 5 year wanted to spend more time in the pool. The only thing we didn’t like was the back of the building on one side. We arrived late and the abandoned wing at the back looked menacing. However, the inner yard with the pool is very cosy and well kept. Overall, would definitely stay again!

Parking was great. Courtyard/pool area were nice. Water pressure and temperature in the room was good. Breakfast was very basic: just white bread with butter, two types of cereal, juice, and coffee. It would not take much effort or money to upgrade that. Beds were comfrortable. Room smelled a little musty. I paid nearly $200 for one night, probably because there were limited vacancies. Under normal circumstances, that type of room should cost less than half of what I paid. If I had paid what the room is actually worth, I’d have no complaints and would have rated this 5 stars because I feel you should get what you pay for.

Not much to look at outside, but the room was spacious and clean. Ask for a room in back it was very quiet. Cheapest room I could find in the area. Pool was very nice.

For the price it was awesome, the hotel was clean . It had a pool that was maintained, ice machines worked. All in all nice stay .

Said there was a pool, however it was closed with no water in it. Toilet was broken and wouldn’t flush. Half the hotel was condemned. The room was dirty and clearly not cleaned well. We found a dirty washcloth in the fold away couch bed. We also found one dead and one alive cockroach in the bathroom. The continental breakfast consists of juice, watered down coffee, bread, and raisin bran cereal. Overall the worst place I have ever stayed at.

The staff was really nice friendly and helpful. The pool was great. I wish there would been fruit at breakfast or something that wasnt carb based a bit more variety would be better. The bed was comfy and room was clean. We were treated very well. I will be coming back likely in Aug. It is far from train n bus station though. City buses stop at front door the express ones.

Beautiful grounds .and pool They are slowly refurbishing rooms in mid century modern Mad Men sort of style .blue and orange confusion at checking because I reserved 2roomd on same account but straightened out

Had cockroaches

Filthy, dirty room. Smelled AWFUL!.A/C didn’t work. Small bugs that made us itch in the room. Booked the room on hotels.com and was NOT told there was a $100 deposit on the website. They wouldn’t let us put the deposit in cash, made us put it on out card. Will never stay again

Really run down, dirty, smelled like mold, leaking ceilings in hallways. Not good.

Carpets are dirty, rooms and surroundings are dirty no proper maintenance

The room was very clean. We’ve stayed here multiple times never had issues. The check-in was very easy. The person behind the desk was very friendly.

The hotel needs to be updated and the room had an odor.

The pictures are all a lie. This place is a disaster and has bed bugs. I literally considered just sleeping in my car, but it was so seemingly dangerous that I suffered through but I got out of there as quickly as possible.

Disgusting, finger nail clippings on floor, dust and bug carcasses, light above bathroom sink encrusted with funk of some sort. Would not recommend this, you can see daylight under door, poor maintenance didnt feel comfortable even to shower due to unclean conditions of place.

Beside the price and the comfy bed there is no other good thing I can say about this hotel. Everything was completely run down. The room smelt so moldy the second we opened the door. And it was definitely not clean when we arrived. Sure the beds were made, but there were crumbs left on the rug, cobwebs in the corner in the bathroom & even broken price tag plastics left on the nightstand. I think the picture of how ancient the alarm clock was will tell it all!!

Prompt, efficient, and courteous service. The facility is spotlessly clean.

I'm on a bit of tour looking at all the low-priced rooms in the area. This one would have been at least good despite the hard-used property but when I walked into the room the heat was off as usual, and the room was absolutely freezing. I also saw the door was definitely not closing well or sealing either. I turned on the heater and saw the last user had set the thermostat as far as it would go (86f). This wasn't a good sign at all. The walls are, I think cinder block and so once they are cold they stay that way. There is a big glass floor to ceiling window in every room which also doesn't help. Two hours later I actually went out to get my small heater from my storage and bring it back to heat the room, the rooms own heater was barely functioning. This would be a better room in spring but in the dead of winter it was definitely a bad plan. I wonder if the A/C works any better than the heaters? Beware. On the pro sound: The TV worked and had a good selection of channels. The sheets were clean, enough covers, no bedbugs and the room was clean. There was an industrial guest laundry washer and dryer, inexpensive and clean. You must show up with quarters and detergent, nothing was vended. The bathroom was OK but there was just tub with no slip-preventive so if you are a shower person be careful.

Room was clean. Area was fairly quiet when it counted. 2nd time staying here. TV is tiny but, I used the wifi and my laptop so, not an issue for me. La Fiesta is right next to hotel so, I had a great Mexican meal right next door. Wolf road is nearby so, shopping and much more is just a short trip away. Will book again next year.

Too much noise

A very old motel, but well maintained. The lobby could see some improvements. But the room was actually quite nice.

Although the exterior of this hotel looks dated and basic but the interior of our room was excellent. Very clean, a comfortable bed, good shower and spacious. Perfect for a convenient comfortable short stay.

There is a section of the motel that is a literal ruin, which is freaky. Room smelled like smoke but was cool and clean.

Good location quiet staff friendly. Down falls this is very dated room smelled horrible, mattress was old needs updating!!

Room was well maintained but AC unit was from the 80s. Something i was surprised still worked. Loud and dusty.

I didn’t realize I had booked a smoking room, which I did not want. The check-in clerk switched us over to a non-smoking before I even had a chance to ask. Excellent customer service.

Paying a 50/100$ deposit for a 70$ room is a bit insane, and they take about 7 days to even release it

Easy and friendly

The front desk barely spoke English so it was tough. He ran my credit card at least 20 times and said it's a bad card which wasn't true because I he just used that same card an hour prior to pay for the room online. He wanted another card and I said I don't have one obviously the card readers bad and he laughed and said ok.

They charge a 100 $ to a credit card in case of damage I have been going there every other week for a year ! It’s just a pain to have to check and make sure I wasn’t charged the fee “on accident “ as I have been charged before

It was good - I left days inn to stay there the only issue is someone walked in to my room without knocking to clean without even us checking. Out so I’m unhappy about that it was messed up and took away our privacy!

The housekeepers were not friendly. That’s the only think I had a problem with. I wanted to make my own bed and things and they just like didn’t want me to take the sheets. Plus they didn’t give me everything I needed either. It was only a couple of things, for a fitted sheet.

The receptionist at check in was dismissive and unhelpful, i believe she was over work and tired.

The property was exactly what we needed. Easy to get to. Reasonable rates. Plenty of walkable dining options nearby.

My stay at the Howard Johnson was good. The staff were friendly. I had a nice swim in the pool. My room had all brand new towels and sheets. I think the bed was brand new too, very comfortable. The water i in the shower/bath was good and hot. I stayed with my wife and two children. Places is perfect for the budget minded traveler.. I thought the staff were very friendly. I have decided that I will come and stay again. For me, the location is very good.. most of the guests I ran into and talk to were laid-back and friendly. There is a Mexican place next-door. You can walk to supposed to be very good., the air conditioning worked well. I thought there was a lot of channels on the TV.. place is kind of old, but I had fresh paint in the room. It was decorated nicely. The light was good. I like the coffee they had in the room. If you’re not too picky, the place is a good value.

It is located on a strip with many other hotels. I drove past it think it was a competitor.

We stayed overnight during a recent road trip. Conveniently located near I 87 and I 90. It's an older property. The carpet was tired but the room was clean. Retro decor. Basic continental breakfast, cereal, toast, coffee and juice. Value priced. Good for a short overnight stay.

The office closes at 11pm (not indicated on their website) so if you're going to have a late arrival time, you'll need to call them to arrange to pick up your key. The "breakfast included" isn't worth mentioning - small room with some toast, cereal, two partial jugs of whole milk in the fridge....and it's served in a converted motel room. Just doesn't have a great feeling to it. The room was clean and worked well for a quick overnight stop, though.

The suppose continental breakfast included juice, coffee, two kind of cereal, milk, toast and butter. That’s it. Nothing other than butter to put on toast. No fruits, no yogurt. When we choose an hotel with included breakfast, we expect to ha more than that.

The young guy at the reception area was attentive and very welcoming. Good location but there is an annexed abandoned building on the back. Clean rooms, beds are comfortable. For breakfast is only coffee, cereal and juice, nothing else.

On the website they said, pool and breakfast, the pool it outside and you can’t use it because it winter, breakfast is coffee and cereals literally, but, they still charge you for all that advertising, I’m not recommending that place

Upon check in, I asked about a cot for the room. The people behind the counter didn't know what I was talking about. I then said a folding portable bed. They said they didn't have that. Which I found weird. I then asked about where the breakfast served. I was informed that it was a "light breakfast" that was served in a room. I found out the next morning that their form of breakfast was a choice of 2 cereals, and a loaf of bread. Not anywhere near what I thought it would be. Enough seating for 8 people. That's it. The room was ok. The floor felt very dingy, the microwave looked like it hadnt been cleaned in some time. And in the bathroom . . .there was a broken soap holder with a jagged edge and the toilet was slightly leaking from it's base.
