Loved the many windows and rainforest views! The covered balcony was a perfect place to watch birds and drink coffee, especially enjoyable during the rain. We saw many pheasants in the back 'yard'. The property managers were responsive. The lower bedroom had a dehumidifier which was really appreciated. And the W/D was wonderful. Highly recommended property.

This house is adorable. The grounds are lovely and the decor is beautiful. Everything worked well and the house had everything we needed. The covered deck was perfect of breakfast every day. The location is very close to the Volcano National Park entrance. The water at the house was delicious. We brought 3 gallons of bottled water and then we filled up our bottles with the water from the house because it tasted just as good as the bottled water. We drank our 3 gallons of delicious Volcano water while we were in Kona. There was a lot of rain while we were there and the access road is a little narrow. The driveway to the house is even more narrow. So, take it nice and slow! Both the road and driveway were minor issues and we would definitely stay at this house again!

Our stay was great in the treehouse! The house is so beautiful all the wood is very easy on the eyes. The spa tub and the shower were pleasantly unique! We enjoyed every aspect of our stay, from check in to check out, we didn’t have an issue at all. The WiFi was great and there’s some good eating nearby. The only thing we didn’t love was the windows did not have screens, otherwise we would have left the windows open more because the weather was always beautiful at that elevation. Overall amazing stay! I would recommend this to my family if they are ever in the area.

The proximity to Volcano National Park can’t be beat, and the solitude was just what we were looking for. Two-person tub with jacuzzi, indoor shower that feels like it’s out doors. Huge washer and dryer perfect for all those dirty hiking clothes and beach towels. A full kitchen allowed us to cook for ourselves, which is great since there aren’t a lot of eating out options near by, particularly Mondays and Tuesdays. That being said, do yourself a favor and hit the nearby Volcano Story (small market) first thing in the morning and grab a couple-four spam musubi. They were the best we had the whole trip. If you’re looking for a romantic mountain hideaway on the Big Island, Maile Tree House is what you’re looking for.

This property is such a gem. We were impressed by most everything, including the location, cleanliness and amenities offered. This house has two outdoor patios, a fully stocked kitchen, bathrobes and a full sized washer and dryer. The owners also included a 3" binder full of house rules and workings, emergency information and ways to spend your time around the entire island. We were so impressed. While we had sun shiney days, we fell asleep to the pitter patter of rain and trees frogs chirping every night. It really was incredible!

We loved staying at this property! I went on a 2 night trip with a friend and wish we had stayed longer! Such a beautiful home in the lush rain forest. I definitely want to come back and stay a couple of more days with my family. Just FYI there is a bit of bumpy dirt road to get to the house and the driveway is a bit narrow to get in and out of but no big deal.

A perfect haven for being immersed in the quiet beauty of a rain forest with welcoming amenities within to ensure a comfortable stay. Loved the large deck with seating to enjoy the birds and gentle rain. Loved the fireplace opening to both the living and bedroom. Loved the large jacuzzi tub for soaking away the travails of a day at the beach or hiking. Loved the well equipped kitchen. Loved all the windows that brought the outside in. And loved the separate quarters downstairs. What a charming place to stay. I'd love to return one day.

A wonderful home with unique layout and thoughtful design throughout. Comfortable and inviting. Good location near Volcano village and Nt'l Park though a bit hard to find on bumpy side road. Great spaces to sit outdoors. Kids stayed downstairs. Separate outdoor entrance for downstairs bedroom and bath which was fine for us but may not be for families with younger kids. All in all we loved the place.

The treehouse is absolutely magical in everyway. The lanai, the birds singing, the ohia trees. We loved every moment at this location. The treehouse was amazingly clean, probably the cleanest rental we have ever experienced. Perfect distance to Volcano national park where we spent most of our three days. Highly recommend.

We made our own breakfast to fuel our body for the long day of hiking and sun. Love it. Nice to feel like home. It is so close to everything you would need/want: store, restaurants, food truck and the National park. Very convinient.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the treehouse. The extensive use of wood, the cozy furnishingings, well stocked kitchen, amazing views of the rain forest and privacy. This did not feel like a basic rental, there were loving touches everywhere that made it feel like a home. The bed was so comfy and the towels were thick and luxurious. An unexpected syrprise were the nice bathrobes. The treehouse is super clean and the windows sparkle! We would definitely stay here again!

The property is gorgeous. Standing inside cooking dinner and you feel as if you are standing in the middle of the jungle. Never minded cooking with the expansive views from the kitchen. Well stocked kitchen. Great cookware. Loved the bedroom and being able to lay in bed and look out at the stars. And the jacuzzi tub was amazing! We definitely want to come back. Just 5 minutes from Volcanoes National Park so perfect for hitting the park. The downstairs unit is totally separate and accessed from outdoor stairs. Gave my mom and her husband the privacy they like but we also had a common gathering area upstairs for meals and games.

Just 5 minutes from Volcanoes National Park so perfect for hitting the park. The downstairs unit is totally separate and accessed from outdoor stairs. Gave my mom and her husband the privacy they like but we also had a common gathering area upstairs for meals and games.

We stayed in early June, and do wish that there was some sort of ceiling fan, as the air could get a little stagnant, and your only option to get a breeze is to open the windows and deal with the bugs. That being said, it was still amazing and really had soooo much character!

Wonderful property with so many lovely design features. Very comfortable and well equipped. Great for exploring the park. You can buy milk and snacks at the volcano store but should bring other groceries. We loved the gorgeous garden and the spa bath! The only downside was we were there during a full moon. It was gorgeous but there are no window coverings and it was like having a spotlight shining on us at night! Highly recommend this property.

What an adorable cottage in the middle of Volcano. Minutes away from the national park, but the property was secluded and an oasis in and of itself. My husband and I stayed on the top floor and our two teen boys had their own place down below with a separate entrance and bath. We loved the open air concept and kept the windows on the second floor open all night. The boys didn’t want to risk it on the first floor, so they slept a little hot. Backyard garden was idillic and fun to explore. Be warned that the road coming into the property is narrow and not in the best shape. We were glad to have a 4 Runner, not only for the rest of the island, but to get in and out of the property. A wonderful stay. Well equipped and designed.

We loved our time here! The property is just like the photos and it's so close to Volcanoes National Park. There was an eruption the day we arrived and we were able to get to it in 10 minutes. It's also just beautiful to be surrounded nature. A comment: there weren't any blinds/curtains, so be aware when the sun comes through in the morning.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the treehouse. The extensive use of wood, the cozy furnishingings, well stocked kitchen, amazing views of the rain forest and privacy. This did not feel like a basic rental, there were loving touches everywhere that made it feel like a home. The bed was so comfy and the towels were thick and luxurious. An unexpected syrprise were the nice bathrobes. The treehouse is super clean and the windows sparkle! We would definitely stay here again!

It was a truly unique property! Loved all the personalized touches and the serene space. The sleep situation was not ideal for us however. I may have overlooked this in the description, but the second bedroom is a walk outside of the main living space, basically a separate apartment. We have a toddler and were not about to have her sleep out there by herself. Other than that, it was a great spot and super close to the national park.

We had a lovely stay at the Maile treehouse. The check in was easy and the house was very comfortable and clean. We loved the yard and took many walks up the road. It's a great location and really makes you feel like you're in nature with all the native birds around. One thing I would note, is that there are some mosquitoes, so we unfortunately had to keep the windows closed most of the time. We look forward to coming back!

Our goal was to be very close to Volcanoes National Park so that we could just pop on over as often as we liked. The house is less than a ten minute drive away from the park, which was very convenient. The location is very beautiful and quiet, but when you are first arriving, try to get there before dark so that it is easier to find. Once you get there, you learn the landmarks, and if you leave a light on when you go out, it will be easier to spot in the dark. The house inside is just as pictured on the website, very beautiful with attention to all the little details. The kitchen was very well stocked with whatever cooking appliances and utensils you might need. We shopped at the farmers markets and fish markets and cooked some very delicious meals! Everything in the house was also very well labelled. The fireplace was so nice to have on those chilly Volcano nights, and the bedding was so comfortable. Being from the suburbs/city, we were concerned when we arrived and the two huge windows in the bedroom had no curtains or shades, but from the first morning that we awoke to beautiful daylight and rainforest views, we were not bothered at all! We did not use the downstairs bedroom, but were happy to have the second bathroom down there. Our only issue with the bathrooms (a very small one) is that rather than having toilet paper holders, the rolls were just placed on a shelf or rack. The house was so well supplied - the only item that we could have used was beach towels for when we went snorkeling. Salt Water Realty was very responsive whenever we had questions. All in all, we would definitely stay here again - peace and quiet, beauty, close to the park, and so comfortable. Mahalo for your hospitality!

Maille Treehouse is a beautiful property set in the rainforest in Volcano. Just 8 min to Volcanoes National Park. It truly has a treehouse feel but is modern, cozy with lovely decor. It is well stocked with supplies. 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, whirlpool tub and full size laundry. Adorable lanai to enjoy for coffee, meals or sitting to enjoy the sights and sounds of the rainforest. We enjoyed our stay here! It was perfect for our family of 4. It was a short drive to Volcano National Park and about a 45 minute drive to Hilo. Everything was clean and looked like the pictures. We would stay here again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This property met and exceeded our expectations! It was so clean, beautiful, unique, and comfortable. It was a wonderful location right next to Volcano National Park, and beautiful trees and plants from every window. It was so quiet and relaxing to stay here. We felt like we were in paradise. The management company was so helpful, friendly and responsive to our needs and questions. I would (and have already) recommended this place to our friends and family. We LOVED this property and hope to return soon!

Excellent accomodations! The day we arrived was rainy and the Treehouse was so cozy, perfect to curl up and read a book. The location was excellent for hiking Volcano thee next morning and then popping back at night to see the lava. Also great location for visiting Panalu'u, a black sand beach with turtles!

Large windows, comfy bed, we really enjoyed this spot after hiking the national park nearby. It’s also close to restaurants, including Lava Rocks (best coconut cake and coconut cheesecake!).

Our family truly enjoyed this rental, it’s location, and the games provided for family nights. We hiked in the park two days and drove the southern coast one day, each night coming back to a warm comfortable setting to enjoy family game night. We were able to make breakfast each morning before heading out and everyone had a comfortable place to sleep after long days of exploring. One item of note, not a complaint, just a heads up, the local diners are few and the hours should be looked at in advance. The grocery stores close early so planning ahead for meals is important. The restaurants we enjoyed were wonderful and the service was gracious. You’ll just need to be intentional on when you eat out and when you fix something at the treehouse. Wonderful experience!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I've never stayed in a more thoughtfully designed property. Every detail added to our comfort and ease in the Treehouse. The proximity to Volcano National Park can’t be beat, and the solitude was just what we were looking for. Two-person tub with jacuzzi, indoor shower that feels like it’s out doors. Huge washer and dryer perfect for all those dirty hiking clothes and beach towels. A full kitchen allowed us to cook for ourselves, which is great since there aren’t a lot of eating out options near by, particularly Mondays and Tuesdays. That being said, do yourself a favor and hit the nearby Volcano Story (small market) first thing in the morning and grab a couple-four spam musubi. They were the best we had the whole trip. If you’re looking for a romantic mountain hideaway on the Big Island, Maile Tree House is what you’re looking for.

We ended our Hawaiian vacation here at Maile Treehouse and it was absolutely wonderful. The house was super clean and tidy. The area of Volcano itself is pretty bare, make sure to get anything you need from Hilo before coming to the house.

Met our needs perfectly for two couples. The property is located close to the National Park which allowed us to visit the site and hike numerous trails. We enjoyed out stay and there are great restaurants (all though limited numbers) which provide a pleasant dining experience. If we went to the area again, would book this location. The two restaurants that met our expectations were Kilauea Lodge and Ohelo Café. Cheers

Wonderful property with so many lovely design features. Very comfortable and well equipped. Great for exploring the park. You can buy milk and snacks at the volcano store but should bring other groceries. We loved the gorgeous garden and the spa bath! The only downside was we were there during a full moon. It was gorgeous but there are no window coverings and it was like having a spotlight shining on us at night! Highly recommend this property.

Maile Treehouse was our favorite place we stayed around the island. Surrounded by trees and plants, truly felt we were in paradise. Both the 1st and 2nd floors have separate entries, we chose to stay upstairs because of the openness and kitchen. Close to Volcano National Park, Volcano is a charming community with local art galleries and tasty food trucks.

Our goal was to be very close to Volcanoes National Park so that we could just pop on over as often as we liked. The house is less than a ten minute drive away from the park, which was very convenient. The location is very beautiful and quiet, but when you are first arriving, try to get there before dark so that it is easier to find. Once you get there, you learn the landmarks, and if you leave a light on when you go out, it will be easier to spot in the dark. The house inside is just as pictured on the website, very beautiful with attention to all the little details. The kitchen was very well stocked with whatever cooking appliances and utensils you might need. We shopped at the farmers markets and fish markets and cooked some very delicious meals! Everything in the house was also very well labelled. The fireplace was so nice to have on those chilly Volcano nights, and the bedding was so comfortable. Being from the suburbs/city, we were concerned when we arrived and the two huge windows in the bedroom had no curtains or shades, but from the first morning that we awoke to beautiful daylight and rainforest views, we were not bothered at all! We did not use the downstairs bedroom, but were happy to have the second bathroom down there. Our only issue with the bathrooms (a very small one) is that rather than having toilet paper holders, the rolls were just placed on a shelf or rack. The house was so well supplied - the only item that we could have used was beach towels for when we went snorkeling. Salt Water Realty was very responsive whenever we had questions. All in all, we would definitely stay here again - peace and quiet, beauty, close to the park, and so comfortable. Mahalo for your hospitality!

My only recommendation would be to advise guests to stock up on groceries before leaving Hilo. There is very little in Volcano and what is there is terribly expensive.

The only reason the check-in was tough was that we arrived after dark and it was raining a bit. I turned on the wrong street and had to turn around and "do it again". It was my fault. The instructions to the property are accurate, just try to arrive before dark.The property was amazing. We had one(1) technical issue during our stay, but the property handyman came out and fixed it the next day. This was a cousins trip so the property was perfect. For just the two(2) of us, it was a bit too much.We will seek out properties from this management company again, and in the near future.Mahalo, KJ
