The room was very clean. The AC was loud and there were some minor repairs needed (towel racks hanging on loosely), but all in all the room met our needs. We also had a late night snack at the little bar/grill attached to the motel which also worked nicely--no fighting football crowds and literally walked out the door and over to our room.

Attached to a Bowling Lanes which had a restaurant. Food/drinks good. Housekeeping is awesome. Bowling was fun. Everyone in the building were genuinely friendly and nice.

The staff was so friendly. The restaurant inside was beyond amazing food great staff. The bowling ally was awesome. The best part was you hear nothing in your room. Had a great stay will come back again!!

We had a wonderful stay this past PSU parents' weekend at the Northland Motel. The motel is a hidden gem. It has clean, updated rooms and very comfortable beds. Most importantly, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful (Michael and Pam!) and really made the stay so nice. The motel is attached to a very fun bowling alley, and we had some fun family time there as well. We will definitely stay again.

If you're looking for a wonderful and clean place to stay, Northland Motel is for you! There's no bells and whistles (pool or gym area), but there is an amazing bowling alley literally attached to the motel! The room was cute, very clean and had everything that we needed for our stay. I could recommend them anymore. We'll definitely be staying again!! Thank you for a wonderful time!

If you're looking for a wonderful and clean place to stay, Northland Motel is for you! Had a wonderful stay for the price. Very clean, well kept and well appointed room. Water and candy awaited and a red bow on each door for the holiday was a nice touch. Beds were very comfortable which my bad back appreciated. The only downside was the heater fan ran rather loudly. Could have just been the unit in my room. Would love to stay there again if the heater noise wasn't an issue.

The staff were extremely friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and accommodating!!! Updated, clean and super cute!!! All of our travels over the last couple of years, no one ever gives fresh towels or empties the garbage. How AMAZING to come back at night and this was done. You could feel that the staff takes pride in their motel. We will stay with them again for sure!!!

All of our travels over the last couple of years, no one ever gives fresh towels or empties the garbage. How AMAZING to come back at night and this was done. This was an affordable motel close to Penn State. It was clean and comfortable, and the staff was friendly. The only odd part about it is it's built adjacent to a bowling alley. You could hear the bowling balls rolling and the pins falling. But I honestly didn't mind it; it was incredibly soothing and I fell asleep quickly every night. Like the sounds of a summer storm. I was also told the food at the Bowling Alley was excellent, but didn't get a chance to try it.

I have been to many motels in the past but this one was one of the best motels that I have stayed in. Very clean and up to date furnishings. It was a great overnight experience. ONE critique that I have is that they did not have an iron or ironing board in our room. Overall great place to stay.

We had a fantastic time at Northland motel. The customer service was excellent, and the room was very clean. We paid a reasonable price and our expectations were all exceeded. Michael at the front desk was extremely helpful and made our check in / check out process very quick & easy. We would love to come back & I would highly recommend!

I was surprised at the location, sharing a building with the bowling alley, but the motel was quiet, clean, comfortable, and conveniently, located next to shopping and restaurants. Everything was in great condition. I would definitelystay here again.

Nice size fridge and microwave in each room.As a life long ( now retired) business traveler Id take this motel over the big box hotels! Affordable near Penn State. It's attached to a bowling alley which is additional entertainment. It's obvious the owner has taken GREAT pride in their establishment! So look no further.

Budge hotel wise, it’s hard to beat this hotel. Clean, decent sized room and comfortable beds. Convenient and safe location. Little things like pieces of chocolates on your nightstand show how they care for you. I would give this place a 5 star. Budge hotel wise, it’s hard to beat this hotel. Clean, decent sized room and comfortable beds. Convenient and safe location. Little things like pieces of chocolates on your nightstand show how they care for you. I would give this place a 5 star. But since it is lumped with other hotels, for a basic budget hotel, a 4 star is quite remarkable.

This was an affordable motel close to Penn State. It was clean and comfortable, and the staff was friendly. The only odd part about it is it's built adjacent to a bowling alley. You could hear the bowling balls rolling and the pins falling. But I honestly didn't mind it; it was incredibly soothing and I fell asleep quickly every night. Like the sounds of a summer storm. I was also told the food at the Bowling Alley was excellent, but didn't get a chance to try it.

Counter lady is the best, part of rhe reson i rebooked her, she takes care of everyone. Newly renovated and great food at the bar/grill dont sleepnon this place!

The room was very clean. The AC was loud and there were some minor repairs needed (towel racks hanging on loosely), but all in all the room met our needs. We also had a late night snack at the little bar/grill attached to the motel which also worked nicely--no fighting football crowds and literally walked out the door and over to our room.

Attached to a Bowling Lanes which had a restaurant. Food/drinks good. Housekeeping is awesome. Bowling was fun. Everyone in the building were genuinely friendly and nice.

The staff was so friendly. The restaurant inside was beyond amazing food great staff. The bowling ally was awesome. The best part was you hear nothing in your room. Had a great stay will come back again!!

The staff are really friendly and helpful, and the room was comfortable and clean. The area has virtually no food choices, so plan for that. I ended up getting food delivered.

Room was clean, beds were comfortable, check in was great. Very friendly staff. Bathroom door needed a little repair. Wood had been broken off in frame and screws in hinge were very loose, so door wouldn’t shut completely unless lifted. Other than that, great stay and would stay there again.

I was sort of shocked when my GPS directed me to what was a bowling alley. Then I noticed the signs (sort of small) that pointed me to one end of the bowling alley, and lo and behold there was the hotel. The check-in was a small office, but the staff was very friendly and helpful from the start. As I walked to my room, I was still wondering how the room was going to be. As it turned out, I couldn’t have been more satisfied. The room was extremely clean, and I was surprised to see two bottles of water and four mint-chocolates setting on one of the tables. My surprise continued when I saw there was a Keurig coffee maker to use. I don’t drink coffee, but I thought that was a step up from many of the “budget” hotels I’ve stayed at. I was here three nights, and it was very quiet every night. I had to chuckle to myself how quiet it was, since we were connected to a bowling alley. The beds were very comfortable, and I always had hot water, which is a biggie for me. If you have a sweet tooth, as I do, you can walk around to the other side of the hotel where a Dairy Queen resides. Throughout the stay, the stay were friendly and helpful. As the saying goes, never judge a book by its cover, and I think anyone who stays here will be pleasantly surprised.
