The property is EXACTLY as pictured and described! A perfect get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday and opportunity to experience peace and tranquility without sacrificing modern conveniences… we really enjoyed some family time! Kayak and fire pit were amazing!

Perfect spot for relaxation and family time. House, amenities, and recreational activities exactly as described. Our family ages 3 to 68 enjoyed every minute of our 4 day vacation. From hiking, to swimming, to kayaking, to fishing, to eating, to sitting by the fire pit and enjoying s’mores, to just plain ole relaxing on the deck- we all had a wonderful relaxing but busy long weekend.

Great location! So close to the waterfalls, Mentone Market and trails! Delicious food truck right up the way and we used the kayaks all day! Super clean, great beds (including trundle) and supplies for a great weekend with kids and no husbands!

This was our 2nd time staying here and we weren't disappointed. House is clean and has a good layout as well as all the kitchen supplies and linens you might need. We cooked each day for 9 people with no issues. Access to the creek is why we come. The 4 provided kayaks are a huge bonus. We enjoyed walking down to the falls to play in the sandy area, as well as the longer hike to the bottom of the falls to swim directly underneath them. Kids love it and so do the adults! Will likely come back next year! We highly recommend this place.

We had such a wonderful family time. The cabin is excellent; spacious and well laid out. Coffee on the back porch with its view of Little River is peaceful and relaxing.We paddled upstream, and downstream to Desoto Falls. The water was cold and clean. Some fished, some swam, some of us just sat and enjoyed the outdoors.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lazy River Cottage! It is a beautiful cabin stocked with everything you need. And it really is just steps away from DeSoto Falls - we walked there a few times during our stay! The kitchen is a tad small, but all the other rooms are very spacious and well furnished. We really enjoyed swimming and kayaking in the river, and making smores around the fire pit. Stephanie was very kind to check in with us to make sure we had everything we needed. I would highly recommend this vacation rental. My family is already asking when we can go back! :)

Our hosts were very welcoming. The cabin was beautiful and just steps from the Desoto Falls. The view of the river was breathtaking. We enjoyed making smores at the fire pit. I highly recommend a stay at The Lazy River Cottage!

Outstanding 3 night stay. Many amenities in a beautiful setting a few minutes walk from the falls The house is relatively new, clean and fresh and which means a lot to us. The furniture and decor are also nice. Small point that might be a bigger point for others - not a fan of the two dead deer heads on the walls of the vaulted family room. Overall, highly recommend!

We were so happy with our visit in 2022 we couldn’t wait to come back this year. So clean and comfortable with every amenity you could need. We especially enjoy the view of the river from the porch for our morning coffee, followed by kayaking. Stephanie is a terrific host who responds quickly to any questions you may have. Our family came from California, Texas, and Alabama to spend Christmas together for the first time in many years! This property was beautiful and perfect for all 7 of us! The house was beautifully decorated for Christmas and perfectly clean. The large living room with sectional couch, porches on the front and back, large dining table, and fire pit all were lovely areas for our family to gather.

We came to town for a wedding in Rising Fawn GA and stayed at the lazy river cottage. It was perfect. Beds were comfy and house was impeccable. Whenever I had any questions, the owner was fast to respond. Overall would give this a 5 star review. Beautiful home with plenty of small town charm.

This was a great house to rent while visiting Mentone. The location was perfect for hiking/family time/football watching and indoor/outdoor fireplaces were great. Very comfortable and tasteful interior furnishings and everything was spotless. I imagine the house being on the river would be lots of fun for the warmer months as well. Our family had a wonderful visit.

The cottage was perfect for our family…all 10 of us. Rooms were roomy, plenty of sitting room as we ate and played games together. And the lake… access to it for canoeing and kayaking, fishing, and just looking at; was wonderful. We enjoyed sitting around the fire pit playing guitars and singing. A great place for celebrating Kenneth’s 75th birthday! We all agreed that we will be back!

My husband and I rented the Lazy River Cottage to host Thanksgiving with our two kids, their spouses and our first grandson. We were there the whole week of Thanksgiving and the cottage was perfect. It’s basically a new house with three bedrooms all with en-suite bathrooms, a loft with two single beds and a large living room. The kitchen was tight for preparing a large Thanksgiving meal, but we made it work. Even cooked a turkey sausage gumbo on Saturday while watching football! The beds weee very comfortable. The cottage is walking distance to the DeSoto Falls which were beautiful. Mentone is just a few minutes away by car and the DeSoto State park is about 10-15 minutes away. It was a great week!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! This house had everything that we needed, including kayaks to play in the river. The bedrooms were plenty large enough for our pack and play, and blackout curtains in the master are a plus. We do this trip annually and plan to stay here again next year.

The house was very spacious and easily accommodated our family group of 5. Everyone had their own bathroom and private bedroom with a queen or king sized bed. The washer/dryer were very useful. I can't say enough about this beautiful home. It was incredibly spacious with the most comfortable furnishings. There were 4 of us for a Girl's Getaway but this home will easily accommodate several families! There is a large gathering table for meals and the most comfortable living area for late night conversations by the fire! Each bedroom had a super nice bathroom attached. Very nice and plentiful linens and amenities. We took full advantage of the firepit with the cold weather. The view of the river out the large window area was just gorgeous. The location is so convenient to everything, with Desoto Falls just steps down the road. The owner was unusually attentive and provided all the check in information that was needed, even checking in with us during our stay to make sure we had all that was needed. Only one of our group ventured out in the kayak (with the rest of us watching from the dock!) but she had a wonderful time! We can't wait to return to this lovely home!!!

There is a large gathering table for meals and the most comfortable living area for late night conversations by the fire! Each bedroom had a super nice bathroom attached. Very nice and plentiful linens and amenities. We took full advantage of the firepit with the cold weather. The view of the river out the large window area was just gorgeous. The location is so convenient to everything, with Desoto Falls just steps down the road. The owner was unusually attentive and provided all the check in information that was needed, even checking in with us during our stay to make sure we had all that was needed. Only one of our group ventured out in the kayak (with the rest of us watching from the dock!) but she had a wonderful time! We can't wait to return to this lovely home!!!
I can't say enough about this beautiful home. It was incredibly spacious with the most comfortable furnishings. There were 4 of us for a Girl's Getaway but this home will easily accommodate several families! We came to town for a wedding in Rising Fawn GA and stayed at the lazy river cottage. It was perfect. Beds were comfy and house was impeccable. Whenever I had any questions, the owner was fast to respond. Overall would give this a 5 star review. Beautiful home with plenty of small town charm.

Our hosts were very welcoming. The cabin was beautiful and just steps from the Desoto Falls. The view of the river was breathtaking. We enjoyed making smores at the fire pit. I highly recommend a stay at The Lazy River Cottage!

Great location! So close to the waterfalls, Mentone Market and trails! Delicious food truck right up the way and we used the kayaks all day! Super clean, great beds (including trundle) and supplies for a great weekend with kids and no husbands!

My husband and I rented the Lazy River Cottage to host Thanksgiving with our two kids, their spouses and our first grandson. We were there the whole week of Thanksgiving and the cottage was perfect. It’s basically a new house with three bedrooms all with en-suite bathrooms, a loft with two single beds and a large living room. The kitchen was tight for preparing a large Thanksgiving meal, but we made it work. Even cooked a turkey sausage gumbo on Saturday while watching football! The beds weee very comfortable. The cottage is walking distance to the DeSoto Falls which were beautiful. Mentone is just a few minutes away by car and the DeSoto State park is about 10-15 minutes away. It was a great week!

We had such a wonderful family time. The cabin is excellent; spacious and well laid out. Coffee on the back porch with its view of Little River is peaceful and relaxing.We paddled upstream, and downstream to Desoto Falls. The water was cold and clean. Some fished, some swam, some of us just sat and enjoyed the outdoors.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lazy River Cottage! It is a beautiful cabin stocked with everything you need. And it really is just steps away from DeSoto Falls - we walked there a few times during our stay! The kitchen is a tad small, but all the other rooms are very spacious and well furnished. We really enjoyed swimming and kayaking in the river, and making smores around the fire pit. Stephanie was very kind to check in with us to make sure we had everything we needed. I would highly recommend this vacation rental. My family is already asking when we can go back! :)

This was a great house to rent while visiting Mentone. The location was perfect for hiking/family time/football watching and indoor/outdoor fireplaces were great. Very comfortable and tasteful interior furnishings and everything was spotless. I imagine the house being on the river would be lots of fun for the warmer months as well. Our family had a wonderful visit.

We could not have chosen a better location and home for our women's retreat. We enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere, being on the water. The fire pit was wonderful and we walked to the falls. Simply perfect!

This property was a perfect 10! This property seems new. It is very clean. It has a nice living area, well furnished bedrooms, and up to date bathrooms. The kitchen was well stocked w/ pots, pans, appliances. I had everything I needed to cook a full Easter dinner. The BEST part about this cabin is the location!! You don’t have to go anywhere to enjoy the outdoors. The hiking trails for Desoto falls are within walking distance. The cabin sits right on the river and provides 4 kyaks. We kayaked for hours on the river. The host is very communicative and helpful. We do VRBO a good bit and this by far has been my favorite property. We will definitely come here again.
