Sunset at the Palms Resort - Adults Only - All Inclusive

Hotel is for lovers not party animals. Food is excellent, pool area quiet and serene. Private beach is phenomenal, great drinks and food. Wait staff and bartenders can’t be beat. Most beautiful tropical grounds in Jamaica. Rooms and beds very comfortable. Nothing like waking up to doves,woodpecker’s and goats. Rooms have flat screen tv’s but never turned on in 14 days. The Management is at your service 24/7 and very hangs on. Brenda and her ladies at the spa are exceptional. We will be back!

Our stay at Sunset was incredible. ALL staff is welcoming and friendly- they make you feel like family. Food was always delicious! The beach access requires you to cross a street but they have crossing guards to assist so it is very quick and easy! Beautiful beach access with chairs, umbrellas and a beach bar! Do be aware that they are currently undergoing changes so pool is not open at this time- which we did not know. That being said they offered us a few extra perks due to the inconvenience and with such a beautiful beach who needs a pool! Awesome stay, will definitely return to this resort! Extra tId but- If you stay here, definitely check out the river walk excursion listed on their site and also a trip to ricks cafe (they provide transportation).

We had a great stay at Sunset at the Palms Resort. We loved the pool and the beach was exceptional. There was always a variety of food to eat at the buffet. The rooms were really clean and comfortable.

Smoking is now a hassle on the beach. Hot tub was out of order again as it was on our last visit. Good things do come to an end. Will be our last trip to Sunset at the Palm. Our 10th visit

Another great stay here . staff very pleasant and helpful , grounds well maintained . only real complaint was food . not much variety what so ever . Also no fruit for drinks , limes ect. Also pool was severly cloudy all week .

The pool was gross, spend your time at the beach. The beach is beautiful and the highlight of this property. Housekeeping was not good, we only got service 2 out of 6 days and both times they came after 5 PM. The food was ok at best, there should be more options on the buffet. The chefs special and Lotus Leaf were very good. The lunch options at the beach were very good as well. If you are looking for a property to relax with not much to do, go here. Overall it was a good experience.

Beach is amazing, although I still don't know why there is bunch of staff sitting and maybe two only working. Brenda from Spa is wonderful, great service there. Love the resort for the rooms and beautiful flowers and gardens.

Grounds are beautiful! Staff is so friendly! Beach is fantastic! Food is good and the room is nice and comfortable. Only complaint - the hot tub was not working during our stay and they didn't have a lot of tour options you could book at the hotel, but otherwise, thoroughly enjoyed!

The grounds and property are beautiful and set in a tropical paradise. The staff (concierge, wait staff, cleaning staff, drivers, etc.) all were friendly, obliging, and provided top notch service. Although, no fault of the resort, the intermittent rain plus humidity caused mosquitos so repellant is a must!! Lastly, the property is not "beach front" it is a small walk across the street, but a crossing guard was available to assist.

This is a VERY quiet resort - so if that is what you are looking for it’s great. The grounds are very pretty. Dining options are very limited, but the food was good. Bad service at lunchtime. I had to ask 3 times for my room to be cleaned which was annoying. Do not use their “spa.” It was a light oil rub down, not really a massage at all.

The property is an amazing boutique hotel on lush grounds. The beach is one of the best on the stretch of beach and one of the best I have been too. You have your own private. The only downside was the mosquito's while they did not take away from the vacation they were a little nuisance. So bring bug spray. They say there are less in the fall and winter months. The room was awesome but with all hotels some minor refreshes would be nice. The onsite food was amazing. Staff was amazing and would definitely recommend the Sunset at the Palms and I plan on returning.

This is a tropical rainforest paradise! The birds and flora/fauna were gorgeous. The staff were outstanding. The food was good at the a la carte options...we did not eat from the buffet. The beach and the thatched umbrella huts were amazing. The only thing we noticed were that there were some minor repairs that needed to happen (leaking air conditioners in both of the rooms we had, a lot of the lighting along the pathways are out, the shower heads were falling off the wall.)

We loved it. Weve visited many carribean islands. This was our first visit to Jamaica and SATP. I was apprehensive at first! Turns out- it was our favorite vacation ever. The staff were wonderful. I cant say enough about them. Genuine. Happy. Kind. Generous. I felt safe at all times. I felt taken care of. I fell in love with many of the staff there. The food was good. Ive been to places with bad food. Their food was prepared fine! I would do the chefs presentation more if i could've. It was a delight and so was he! The tree houses smell nice, they are a tad dated but I live in an area with historic houses and it reminded me a lot of those. They've been well maintained. The bed was a tad hard on my back but thats not their fault. Next time ill take an extra pillow. The cleanliness- I own a cleaning company at home- i didnt think the resort was dirty at all. I constantly saw staff cleaning. Restrooms, floors, rooms, even the beach was cleaned. You cant beat the price either. My husband and I will be back. It was our favorite vacation. To all the staff at this resort- thank you! We adore you all! We cant wait to return!

I am covered in bed bug bites…thought it was mosquitoes but nope…it’s bed bugs. Really unfortunate because staff was super sweet and the beach portion is beautiful. Food was alright, best parts were the Jamaican cuisine and fresh fruit and coffee.

What I liked; this property has me rethinking how I’m going to do vacations in the future. Whoever designed this property was genius. It is small, quiet and beautiful. They didn’t blast music on the beach and there were no loud bands during dinner. The beach was beautiful and there were plenty of chairs. (Downside: people walked back and forth all day loudly hawking something). Ok. What I didn’t like-and will keep me from coming back: Service was almost non existent. Twice I had to go down and ask for someone to bring towels to my room (it hadn’t been cleaned). Twice we were half way thru dinner before getting water (remember, it’s small. There were only about three other tables). Same at the beach; takes about ten minutes for someone to take drink order and another ten to get it. People seldom made eye contact. I felt as if I were bothering them by asking. The poor service was remarkably consistent. The other thing was that for the first two days the room smelled like urine and sewage. I only spoke with one other couple that had this problem though. No one else did. As far as transportation, that went well, but I heard other people using different services that were less expensive and their drivers were like tour guides and stopped and took pictures. I honestly felt like an unwelcomed guest that was underfoot the whole time we were there.

Old… Bed bugs (I was covered in bites), Lizards inside the apartment (we had 3 of them), lunch very limited and same every day . Some of the staff were excellent like Jason and Cornelius but mainly rude and distant, just don’t care vibe . Beach bar was the worst with service . The only thing worth it and the best one is the BEACH and water that is so beautiful. But, would I come again ? Not a chance .

The service & staff were amazing. The property is old & a bite run down. Rooms were clean, but needs updating, also, very dark.

Very nice, however the rooms are much like staying in an uninsulated cabin. You can hear when someone walks and talks outside, and they can hear you talking from inside your room. Sleeping is difficult due to this-birds and frog sounds all night heard very loudly inside, too. No black out curtains, so as soon as the sun comes up, the room lights up, and it’s only 5am- Not great on vacation. The bathroom offers no privacy-the door is basically a porch door, with pencil eraser sized holes-you can see the person sitting on the toilet clearly while on the other side of the door and they can see you, too. So if privacy is what you want while you poop, this is not the place to stay. Otherwise, beautiful place and we had a great time.

When booking the “deluxe” room i was expecting it being a little away from the road , instead it was right next to it by the fence line , very loud. Also the toilet was broken and kept filling with water every 5 mins . Told the management and nothing was ever fixed, had to fix it myself to not go crazy at night . Staff very friendly and nice , all bartenders are excellent with a great pool .

The resort is absolutely beautiful. Love the jungle feeling and privacy for each treehouse. The beach is a short walk across the street with crossing guards to help stop traffic. Beach is amazing not crowded, clean and friendly beach staff. They make sure you’re not bothered by people selling their goods. We enjoyed shopping on the beach.(shopping was short walk down the beach). Staff around the resort were amazing so friendly and fun. They make a point to make you feel welcomed. Food was good. Our room was beautiful, unfortunately we had shower issues, the first 2 nights water stopped running in the middle of my shower and then our 4th night the shower had no hot water. I will say they took care of it but it was quite frustrating with limited time to get ready for things. I wish the concierge station would have kept us updated on the process of each situation we had to contact them. With that being said I would still definitely go back. I hesitated even mentioning the shower but I feel they need to communicate more keep us updated, we did agree if they had to turn water off a 3 rd day they would leave me a note ahead of time. Beautiful hotel and amazing staff!!

Service and people were great. Rooms were kind of average, and our room was very noisy because it was near the road. It took us way too long to get there and way too long to get from there back to the airport.

The beach was private, so you could get lunch from the resort and drinks as well. Rooms were a great size and bed was comfortable - some of the furnishings could use an update (I.e. no smart TVs, bathroom fixtures were a bit dated) but this did not take away from our experience at all. Many of the other guests we met had been to SATP 5-7x previously, which is a good sign! The food was incredible. Staff were pleasant, kind, and eager to help. Definitely would recommend SATP if you’re looking for a quieter, relaxing place - not for partiers or people looking for a rowdy vacation.

The service made this hotel stand out. The rooms need upgrading badly! Our air conditioning went out after the first day in our first room as well as the blow dryer not working. Second room air quit working on our last full day. It was so hot that I couldn’t blow dry my hair. Called and reported, never got fixed. If they upgraded air, we would probably return, but at this point we’ll just go elsewhere.

This resort is incredibly unique - giving you the experience of the tropical “forest” feel and the beauty of the beach. We had a room towards the back of the property and fell asleep every night to the sounds of the Jamaican tree frogs and woke to the sounds of the birds. The first night we were worried we wouldn’t sleep but it was soothing. We loved the setting, it was like our own little oasis on our porch. I spent a lot of time reading on the daybed out there. One morning it was raining and I laid on the daybed reading while listening to the rain (and staying dry). It was the most relaxing experience. The staff are incredible- one of the gardeners created a bouquet of flowers for me just because. My only wish is that the coffee bar opened a little earlier, that coffee is amazing and while I could make coffee in the room, it wasn’t nearly as good as the coffee at the coffee bar. We were there for a week and the second half of the week it seemed to get busier - the best spots on the beach filled up early (by 7:30). We absolutely loved our stay and can’t wait to return!

The property is beautiful, the staff are very friendly. We did not have access to any wifi in our room as claimed, and the phone in our room was not connected to anything. We asked the staff about it, they told us they'd send maintenance, we never heard back, on the final day they apologized for the "very minor inconvenience" that ultimately cost me about $200cad we probably could have put towards a better maintained property. No phone in the room is a bit of a issue if you'd like to use room service, in addition the cleaning staff had taken out umbrella for some reason, and we had to wait out a crazy rain storm to get to dinner without getting soaked, and were unable to do anything about it as we had no wifi/no phone in our room. The daily buffets were great, however I can't say the same for the fancier meals we had to make reservations for, serving sizes were extremely small, and had to wait over a hour to be served our meals. We ended up canceling our second reservation as we weren't willing to wait a hour to be served literally one shrimp, and two small pieces of calamari. (Although that single shrimp was tasty) The "safe" driver the hotel offered to get to a nearby ATM, made us feel extremely unsafe, we would have rather walked, rather than being trapped in his cab. The property was gorgeous and very peaceful. The staff however always seemed put out when you asked for something. Except the front desk, they were exceptionally kind everytime we went to them. But all the bartenders seemed bothered when you went up to order something. The beach was so pretty and the resort was about 20 minutes from plenty of fun shopping and other nice restaurants.

I feel like this place is very over rated and it did not meet my expectations. Upon arrival the welcome was pretty bland. The room was clean. It did give a nice tree house feel. The bed was not comfortable and the “fully stocked fridge” had two waters, two red stripes and two coca colas. After we drank those two sodas we asked the housekeeper for two more regular coca colas and there were no more. The food was mid and very underwhelming. The buffet food at night time was pretty good however we did not enjoy the food at the two specialty restaurants. The staff was not very warm and friendly at all. The beach was beautiful but the restaurant at the beach was not good.My fifth time in Jamaica and I was ready to go home. People were ranting and raving about how wonderful this resort was but that was not my experience. I would not stay here again.

We loved our stay at the Sunset at the Palms. The property is incredibly beautiful and well kept. There is ample security and you feel very safe while you are there. They arrange all transportation for you if you leave the resort, which we utilized a couple times. They had their drivers wait for us everywhere we went, and insured they knew when we were coming back as well. The food was outstanding. Since it’s a smaller resort with around 85 rooms, the staff and cooks are local and trained very well. They prepare very authentic food. It was delicious. I came back to America missing the food, I felt a lot healthier as well while I was there. Our treehut was adorable. We had an issue with the first room we were in, but they were quick to put us in a new room and gave us a bottle of champagne as well. It was the perfect location for our honeymoon. The private beach was awesome and so relaxing. We spent so much time in the water and laying on the chairs. This is one of the best vacations I’ve ever been on! I highly recommend staying here, you won’t be disappointed!

The staff were fantastic, the food was great and the atmosphere was so welcoming. I certainly would recommend this resort which contibuted to my stay being so wonderful.

The staff was wonderful. I loved the "tree houses". I loved the coffee bar (although it was staffed sporadically). The food was mediocre at best. The shower head desperately needed maintenance. The water squirted in all direction - not an exaggeration! The worst was when someone l loved dearly was fatally hit by a car and l had to go home early, l was told l had to write an email explaining why l had to leave early or they would charge me a penalty fee. Since l had paid for the entire week and was not asking for a refund of any kind, l can't figure out the justification.

Absolutely enjoyed our vacation at the resort. From the arrival staff to the restaurant / to bar / cleaning / maintenance/ pool staff I can’t say enough good things about every one we encountered. Will absolutely consider planning another vacation at this property.

Our Air Canada flight was cancelled <24 hours before our check in at the resort. We immediately contacted Expedia and the resort to cancel our stay, hours before our expected check in time. It took the resort over 2 weeks to respond, despite several attempts at contacting them, and they denied any refund and still charged us 100% for a trip we were not able to go on. We’re extremely disappointed because we wanted to go here in the future and were really looking forward to this vacation, but that will absolutely not be happening anymore because of their abhorrent lack of customer service and empathy.

We loved staying here! This resort was so relaxing and the employees are the best. Food was amazing.

We had a wonderful stay at Sunset at the Palms. The team at SATP was just wonderful from the moment we arrived right through check out. Looking forward to a return trip!!

The property was so lush and relaxing upon entry. All the staff from the concierges, bell hops, pool and beach personnel were pleasant and helpful. We had a rough arrival due to storms messing up flights but the stress disappeared once we reached the property. Ran into multiple couples that were repeat visitors and I see why. Great location near seven mile and popular attractions in Negril. Will definitely return for my next stay in Negril.

It was beautiful, very jungle like atmosphere, but at the same time traffic wasn't that far off. So you had a lot of street traffic noise with the jungle. The staff at both the resort and the private beach were extremely nice. Always put a smile on my face as I woke up in the morning.

You have to cross a road to get to the beach. The room was nice food was good. All of the staff were extremely nice and ready to help.

Wonderful solo stay at this boutique hotel. The property and grounds are beautiful and with the small number of guests it has a relaxed and spacious feel. The staff were amazing, especially Shamika who was fantastic to interact with during dinner. The dining options were great and the food good, especially at the lotus restaurant. Highly recommend!

Beautiful palm trees and I love the treehouse with air conditioning!!!

This was our first time to Jamaica and to this property. The resort is nice but I would not recommend it as highly as other reviews. The food was limited in variety and flavor. The staff was unfriendly at times which we thought was odd given the fabulous reviews. The pool was unheated and therefor unusable. The beach is beautiful and the gentleman placing chairs and towels was great. Our treehouse was nice but located very near the road so the noise was very loud at times. Overall, it was fine but not as fabulous as others seem to think.

We loved it! The place is perfect to relax, and enjoy Jamaica in a peaceful environment. The beach is super clean and very clear, we got to see tons of starfish. Also next to the are of the beach, there’s tons of stores were you can shop for souvenirs. The area on the beach includes its own restaurant and bar. The food was delicious, specially the restaurants. I recommend this hotel a lot.

Overall, I would highly recommend staying here, especially if you are looking to relax. Staff is very friendly and more than willing to help you if needed. The room was okay, comfortable enough. Daily restock for bottled water. Take it with you so they’ll restock and you’ll have extra. The beach is down a little path and across the street, takes less than 5 minutes to get there. It was clean, with chairs/cabanas available. The pool is very nice too, and it has a swim-up bar/live entertainment some nights. For breakfast and dinner, there’s a buffet and the food there is just okay. For lunch, there’s a restaurant at the resort and one on the beach, which were way better than the buffet in my opinion. You HAVE to go to the Chef’s showcase and the Lotus Leaf. Those dinners were our favorite, and the resort even made reservations for us. They have all-day coffee too. I would skip their special occasion dining opportunities, wasn’t worth the price I paid. There’s a gift shop, but I found better souvenirs at the airport since we didn’t really shop elsewhere. We spent 5 full days here and didn’t do any excursions, which we were just fine with. It was nice to just “be” for a while and that’s exactly what I got out of this trip. You’ll be spending a lot of time outdoors, so plan accordingly. It’s a peaceful time with not much to do. Make sure you bring bug spray and put it on every single day, even if you think it’s not working.

The resort is absolutely awesome. Its like escaping into a Amazon forest. The staff were incredible. Everything is super clean. The service is fast. Our safe stopped working and guy was there in 5 minutes to fix. The food was unbelievable, especially the buffet. Most buffet food is like "fast food". Not here!! Wish i had the shrimp recipe!!. Choices were extensive. The "chefs choice" night dinner was also excellent!!! I really cannot say enough good things about this hotel. I would recommend it in a heartbeat!! Especially to adults looking for a great place with no kids!!! But it is not a "high octane" place. If you are looking for loud music, too many people are non-stop activity all around you, go someplace else.

The front hotel staff was absolutely phenomenal, especially compared to nearby hotels that we have stayed at in the past. The rooms are interesting, as most resorts focus now on quantity over quality, and this resort was built long ago with size and comfort in-mind. The only lacking areas for improvement are the lunch dining options (and flavors), with speed being a major issue. The resort would also benefit by removing the live piano, live band, and replace them with modern music and a DJ. The constant Jamaican music (and dancehall-reggae) blasted by the pool area bartenders was painful after a full week. We had to leave the resort just to go dancing.

We wanted quiet...it was too quiet. No night life at all just piano player who was great but it was like a retirement home. Looked like was 40people,pool empty. But staff was amazing beautiful rooms however the birds chirp all night. Food was just ok. Had to leave to get real jerk chicken. Im used to it right off grill on the beach. The beach is acrossed the street. Area is quiet no music nothing at all. I wouldn't stay here again. It was off season but it was so boring and quiet. But looking for somewhere to just sleep this is your place. Staff amazing.

This property is gorgeous! It’s like living in a prehistoric jungle paradise. The staff are some of the friendliest I have ever encountered. Everyone was kind and laid back and the service is excellent. Breakfast and lunch are really good. Dinner wasn’t bad. The special dinner options were good. The dinner buffet wasn’t our favorite, but we were there when the hotel was not at all crowded and I think maybe there will be more options for dishes when it is a little busier. We were never hungry, though and we will be back!

Staff was attentive and friendly! Service was a bit slow at times but the customer service made up for the wait. Pros: quiet, amazing staff, calm amazing white sand private beach, patio with the jungle backdrop was serene and peaceful. Cons: no fresh juices, beach closing at 7 wasn’t ideal as we wanted to walk it at night. Activities in the evening could be more creative and fun (karaoke night was fun but only happened once).

The resort was beautiful and well kept. The private beach was the highlight of the trip. Buffet food was only okay, but the Chef’s Showcase dinner was fantastic.
