Needs updated facilities was in some poor conditions . Hot tub not working hotel room sliding door needs replaced elevator beyond slow . For the price there breakfast buffet needs alot more . Great location great swimming areas for adults and kids

If we are paying for parking i would’ve liked to have a parking space. If there’s no space for everyone to park then don’t sale any parking. The over flow parking is not help full either because it’s only like 10 spots. We were like 10 card trying to look for parking.

I was extremely pleased and a bit surprised at how wonderful this hotel was. Our room was big and comfortable and clean. The pools were fantastic and all the staff was so friendly and kind. We were therefore about a week and we had one minor issue with our door lock and they addressed that immediately.

Stayed here for one after a bad experience at another hotel down the road. Very friendly staff, clean rooms, and 3 good size pools. Had a kids room and a movie theater. Highly recommend. Great beachfront view also.

Beach view was awesome! Disappointed that during my stay the indoor pool was closed; the hot tub was closed; the restaurant was closed; the playroom was closed. At a minimum I would have expected since beginning of October outdoor pools closed that inside would be open. I’d still stay again but was surprised.

The hotel was adequate, a renovation is coming fall of 2025, which is needed. I got an oceanfront room, the windows were very hard to see out of, hazy white so you couldn't see the ocean without opening the doors. The indoor pool was not "heated" it wasn't as cold as outdoors but definitely too cold for your body unless you love cold water. The hot tub, which is what I wanted to use, was closed both days. We called ahead and nobody mentioned the hot tub was not operating, so that was frustrating. The outdoor pools were beautiful and very cold in early October, they were also empty. So it was great for tanning and enjoying the sun. Check-in was okay. They didnt tell me where anything was except the elevator. Parking was great, $10 day and across the street, convenient. They had a movie room, a kids area, a gym and a couple of restaurants. We had the fish and chips and the square whale and it wad good, nothing extraordinary but everything was okay.

Amazing hotel right on the beach with a big and clean pool surrounded by a few palm trees (nice for shade). The property is clean, has lots of entertainment options for kids and adults: movie theater with Disney movies and popcorn, kids activity room with games and teachers, workout room, 2 outdoor pools (one with a slide, one with a bar and a restaurant and lots of lounge chairs and fresh towels), one indoor pool with a lazy river. Dining options were decent at the hotel and the kids under 11 eat free in a couple of them. Everything is kept clean - especially considering the crowds, the water and the sand everywhere. Everybody was friendly and we got lucky with the weather.

Front desk staff was great. They took care of out room concerns quickly all stay long. Hot tub was broken during our visit. Also the sink was clogged when we got there. Plumber was prompt. Patio was very dirty. Desk staff had it cleaned for us. Those 2 issues should of been addressed by housekeeping. Kureg coffee machine didn't work and they replaced it quickly with a new one. The indoor pool has a lot of sand in it. Looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in weeks. The more I type the more I think these are mostly housekeeping issues. Housekeeping should of noticed the slow drain and had the patio swept and bird droppings cleaned off the chairs (we were on the main floor). Restaurants were good. Parking was convient. Checkout was quick. Would stay again.

This hotel is my go to because it’s kid friendly. .. well this trip I wasn’t impressed.. when I checked in I got hit with a $10 dollar a night parking fee ( parking has alway been free here). The front desk girls were super rude when I asked about the parking change they handed me a paper with all the new rules… then when I got into my room the smell of mold and mildew took your breath away, like the room hasn’t been used in years, so I went to express my concerns about that, they rudely have me a new room which still had mold , water damage on the ceiling, wall paper peeling off the walls, dead bugs in the picture frames on the wall.. I had noticed that house keeping hadn’t been in my room the whole trip I ran out of towels and toilet paper. Went to the front desk to be told that new rules housekeeping only comes every 4 days and when I told them I was out of towels and toilet paper they had told me they were out of stock as well.. I’m not sure what happened here but this stay wasn’t good for me.

The hotel needs a major upgrade. Carpet in the room was very dirty and smells musty. The bathroom had mold in the shower and the shower leaked onto the floor. Furniture was old and dirty and the AC unit leaked and smell bad when it was running. I cannot recommend staying at this Holiday Inn.

My room smells like wet and mold. The railings on the balcony do not feel secure and safe. The description says beach towels and beach chairs but there are none available to take out. The place where you can rent them does not allow them in front of the hotel beach area. The pools are super dirty and have not been cleaned. Light fixtures in the pool were floating not safe to swim in when I spoke to members including property management they had no words no one knew anything horrible service.

The bathroom had mold. The towel rack had awful water stains. The bathroom door had water stains. The floor wasn’t clean. The toilet tank top didn’t fit and was chipped. There was dry blood stains on one of the bed comforters. The wallpaper was peeling in all the rooms. The living room had whole in the wall. The soap dispenser completely fell off the wall, the first night. It appeared that someone tried to glue it to the wall unsuccessfully. In addition, we had a fly problem in our room. The was awful experience.

It was noisy, especially since there was a kitchen above us, and even after being moved to another room, the same issues persisted. The overall cleanliness was disappointing—dirty elevators, unpainted ceilings, and a balcony door that didn’t lock properly. Unfortunately, it was not a pleasant experience, and I will not be returning.

The room was constantly damp as the air conditioning was turned off upon our arrival. The room was dirty. A used tissue was left on the desk. The TV remote worked intermittently. The door to the balcony was difficult, at best, to open, and the glass doors were dirty, so there was not a good view of the ocean. I would not stay here again.

Our check in was quick, but the front desk staff was less than pleasant - there was zero customer service and it almost felt like we were a bother/interrupting them. All of the luggage cards are busted and broken. Our room was filthy- the wallpaper was peeling off the walls in multiple places, our phone did not work (we had to walk downstairs each time we needed something), the sliding glass door did not close unless we put all of our force in to it, we booked an oceanfront room and got a partial oceanfront view room, the hotel was dirty, the pools were dirty and appeared as though they had not been cleaned in a long time. The hotel has a small movie theater where they were playing movies every 2-3 hours and we opted for a 3p movie with our kids. When the movie prior to ours ended, we assumed (because it was scheduled and posted outside for guests to see) that the movie would be started by a staff member. Nope. I had to hunt down 2 employees to start the movie, to no avail. They couldn't figure out how to work the TV & remote. When brought to the attention of guest services, we were told we should have told someone in the Kid Center we were there for the movie (which again, was mind boggling to us considering there was a posted movie schedule). They told us that "sometimes they get busy in Kid Center so we need to request them to play the movie - BUT, there wasn't one kid in the Kid Center. We will not return as this was more of a frustrating visit than a relaxing visit.

There was mold on the shower door tract and in the rubber molding. There was a mildew smell when we walked in and only subsided when we put the air conditioner on 70. Floor at edge of elevators and subsequent floors would give when you stepped on it. One big window in one elevator was pushed off it’s track. Shower leaked onto floor.

I heard they will be renovating in October which is very much needed. The elevators closed on people including myself. Our balcony door was very hard to open and our AC was super loud. The pools were great and it was very kid friendly

I was extremely pleased and a bit surprised at how wonderful this hotel was. Our room was big and comfortable and clean. The pools were fantastic and all the staff was so friendly and kind. We were therefore about a week and we had one minor issue with our door lock and they addressed that immediately.

The location was great and the beach in the north end was less crowded. This hotel is way overdue for a renovation and not just in need of a facelift. The window in one of the elevators was rotting out and you could see daylight around it. The safety railing that should have been in front of the window was missing. The balcony door was extremely difficult to open/close, the vanity light was flickering so much we could not use it. The walls were dingy and dirty (appeared to have boogers wiped on the wall). The only towel holder was inside the shower and it was rusty. It’s a hotel on the beach, but there is nothing in the room to hang wet clothes or towels.

The location was great and we liked the choices of pool and the movie theatre. Our room smelled musty and the lowest we could get the room temp to be was 76 (even with the AC set to 72). The hotel could use an update. It was a short stay of 2 nights so it was worth it for the short stay.

We had a great time just wish the WiFi was a little better and you're able to hook your game system up to the tv, but overall it was a fun time at the hotel and the staff was nice.

The only complaint that I would have is the mattress is hard to where I bought two different mattress toppers in hopes to get a little bit of sleep.

Viktor and the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. We accidentally left souvenirs at the hotel and they were very gracious in shipping our items back to us as soon as they were able. Very much appreciate the staff here. The hotel was as expected, the pools were nice and the location was lovely for a virginia beach stay away from any real noise.

This hotel is my go to because it’s kid friendly. .. well this trip I wasn’t impressed.. when I checked in I got hit with a $10 dollar a night parking fee ( parking has alway been free here). The front desk girls were super rude when I asked about the parking change they handed me a paper with all the new rules… then when I got into my room the smell of mold and mildew took your breath away, like the room hasn’t been used in years, so I went to express my concerns about that, they rudely have me a new room which still had mold , water damage on the ceiling, wall paper peeling off the walls, dead bugs in the picture frames on the wall.. I had noticed that house keeping hadn’t been in my room the whole trip I ran out of towels and toilet paper. Went to the front desk to be told that new rules housekeeping only comes every 4 days and when I told them I was out of towels and toilet paper they had told me they were out of stock as well.. I’m not sure what happened here but this stay wasn’t good for me.

We stayed here for vacation which ended up being a nightmare from August 6th to the 9th. I spent more time at the front deak trying to figure out why this place over charged me than at the beach enjoying my vacation. The man manager was a complete jerk and by the time all was said and done this place had taken out over $1200 extra out of my checking and put my checking account in the negative. Watch this place bc they are crooks. I am home now and still have not gotten my money back. The lock that goes on the door somehow locked after we left our room and it took them over an hour to get us back in the room but the manager did not think that was a big deal. The toilet stopped up and maintenance never came before we checked out. I have never met so many rude people in my life. Just a warning to anyone considering this place to stay, don't.

It was a decent stay. Our room had a power issue. No one ever came to fix the outlet and I reported it the first day, so we had to use the coffee pot on the nightstand. Then constantly changed out the plug during our visit. Our breakfast coupons were not delivered on time so we did not get to have breakfast the 1st morning. We received all of our coupons the second morning we were there. The elevator was very slow. Our room wasn't checked or cleaned the last two days of our stay so the trash piled up. It would be noce to have a small table on the balcony. The view was nice from our room though.

It was away from the hustle of midtown. The dining options on site were a great convenience. The trolley stop is directly across from the hotel whoch made it nice to hop on to go to the main boardwalk area. The waterslides were a big hit for my child and the extras with the movies and such were an unexpected little suprise.

The propert is located on the beach at the North end of the boardwalk. It is a convenient and quiet area of Virginia Beach. The property is well maintained with a large staff that are friendly and cordial. The 3 pools are clean and towels are plentiful. The buffet breakfast is a very good deal if it is part of your stay package. It has very good service. The site has a theater with movies running most of the day with free popcorn (great perk). One area needing improvement is the daily 3 - 5pm happy hour. It says 1/2 price appetizers and $5 beer, wine, and well drinks. 1/2 price is 1/2 size and the well is the well. Be aware of this. Would I stay here again, absolutely yes. Great location, nice property, friendly staff, and comfortable and clean rooms.

The hotel is at the beginning of the boardwalk and we needed to take the trolly to get to desired locations. We liked how there was a parking garage. The pool was noisy and full of kids tracking in sand from the beach. The beach area across from the hotel was nice and less busy than other locations.

Food options were great, really enjoyed the breakfast. Right in the boardwalk, easy access to the beach. Clean, comfortable, friendly staff, everything working well. Needs a little updating but in better condition than most of the other hotels so can’t complain.

We have stayed at this property a hundred times. This time was bad. Girl at front desk acted like she had better things to do than help anyone. Outdoor Pools were too cold. Elevators took a long time. Tried to eat at square whale and 4 employees stood there for 10 minutes at least before coming to get our drinks so we left. Also being a IHG member there are no benefits at this hotel. Not what it used to be when the turtles were there.

There’s nothing free about the kids food. The continental breakfast is $20 per adult. The poolside restaurant is SO expensive for what you get and we ended up with food poisoning. $19 for processed, limp chicken tenders. The front desk is so rude but the housekeepers and cleaning staff are so nice. You can’t sit on the balcony because the water from air conditioner in the room above you leaks down and soaks everything. 0/10 do not recommend.

The first room I was given had water and mold on the ceiling. The second room was clean but missing tile in the bathroom and the balcony was rusty and moldy so could not go out. The staff were all polite and accommodating. The hotel has only been partially renovated and unless you get a renovated room, the rooms are older, and while “clean” the are minimally maintained.

During check‑in, we used the lobby pool while waiting for our room. The water already appeared poorly maintained, but we assumed it was safe. The dirty pool however, gave my daughter hot‑tub folliculitis, painful, pus‑filled spots all over her legs shortly after showering. Completely unacceptable. We couldn’t use the pool again and were afraid to even swim at the beach. It ruined a big part of our stay. The hotel needs to fix its pool sanitation immediately. Staff seemed clearly overworked as well, not unkind, but not really helpful either. Towels arrived late, no room refresh, and overall, the place just felt neglected and gross. For the price we paid, basic cleanliness and support for both guests and employees should be standard.

Very disappointing experience. I reserved two rooms, but when we arrived for check-in, our rooms were not ready. I showed the front desk my reservation and explained that I had booked two rooms, but they were unable to accommodate the reservation properly. We had to wait about an hour and a half for the rooms to be ready. To make matters worse, Levi at the front desk was very rude and unprofessional when I tried to address the situation. After traveling and arriving at the scheduled check-in time, the long wait and poor customer service made the experience extremely frustrating and inconvenient. I expected much better service, professionalism, and organization.

Ground floor suite was perfect for our family. We walked straight out onto the beach. Kids also loved the pools. We would definitely rebook this hotel.
