Loved the stay here! It was exactly as described. Decorated for Christmas and everything! Hot tub was great AND hot chocolate by the fire. Super cozy and close to so many winter activities! Wish check in had been a little earlier, it was a little difficult in the dark but overall an excellent experience!

We enjoyed our stay at the Laughing Bear Cabin. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The hot tub had debris in it (which was easy to remove). In the evening, we enjoyed the fire pit but would recommend some kind of lighting to and from the cabin. Perhaps solar lighting or string lights? We had to use our phones as flashlights to make it to and from the cabin from the firepit which was doable but would be more convenient and safer to have lighting along the stone steps.

The cabin was cute and fun i loved it! Five stars. Just a comment for tall people, the shower is a small stall and all the bed rooms very cramped. I kept knocking my knees on the bed and hitting the walls in the shower. Also the hot tub had so much chlorine we had to get out because it was burning our eyes and skin.

Absolutely adored this place, we could not have been more pleased. Walking distance to a dog friendly coffee shop, Fernies, suspension bridge over a river, roaring river sounds in the hot tub, mountain air with a 100% true cabin experience. Lots of space for 5 adults, 13 and 3 year old. Very quiet road as well. Short driving distance to Lake Trillium and Mt. Hood. I can’t begin to express how happy I am to have found this, it was exactly what we wanted. The host was extremely communicative as well. A

I don't know which is better, the cool rustic cabin in the woods or the property it sits on. Lots and lots of room for several people, comfortable bed, TV, wifi, comfortable seating and everything you need in a kitchen is there. It has a hot tub, but since we didn't use it, can't really speak to its quality. The property the cabin sits on is pretty amazing. Everything, and I mean everything, is covered in a beautiful carpet of beautiful green moss. Coming from Montana, all that moss was very new to me. There also a beautiful, wide, crystal clear creek flowing just behind the property that you're going to want to check out.

Cozy, rustic cabin nestled in the woods made for a nice stay with the fam. Loved the neighborhood it is nestled in. Beds were comfortable and clean and bedrooms were warm at night . Fireplace added to the rustic feel and helped to warm the spaces in the main living room the heater missed. Close to snow bunny for family sledding and delicious pizza at zig zag inn. Loved the wooden cabin feel that was consistent through the entire living space. You never forgot you were in the woods and you were set apart from the hustle bustle of the city (Wi-Fi good but not phone reception). The hot tub was clean and welcome after a cold play in the snow.

A group of 7 friends and I stayed at this cabin during our university's spring break to get some fun skiing in at Hood. The cabin itself is very clean and cozy but unique in its log cabin design and layout. It was definitely a little tight with 8 people, but if your all good friends, it's not a problem. The area is beautiful and feels more secluded than it actually is.

Considering this place looks hand built, it's in pretty good shape. Upstairs has soft spots, but we ended up avoiding due to my service dog being unwilling to go up them. The place was clean, free of pests, and overall a very comfortable stay.Where this place shines is in the communication with the host. Brad was very responsive and accommodating. Friendly and professional. Overall, very happy with our stay from beginning to end!

Very cute historical cabin that has been thoughtfully retrofitted with plumbing to accommodate a larger group. Nice and ample linens provided as well as toiletries. The hot tub was very clean and a great way to end the day on the mountain.

If you want to stay in a real and unique Steiner Cabin then this is your place. If you don't want to try and figure out how to open every single door in the place, have the owner make you sign your life away, be surrounded by clutter and have to take a shower before you walk outside in the cold to the hot tub, then it might not be your place.

We had a great time staying in this historic cabin. Check-in instructions were very clear and we had no problems. We did contact Brad about arrival time and he was very responsive. As advertised, the cabin is rustic. But the shower had lots of pressure and hot water! There were plenty of electric outlets. We loved that it was just a short walk to the pedestrian bridge over the ZigZag River to Fernies Coffee. Days were spent at The Timberline Lodge at Mt. Hood, Government Camp (Huckleberry Shakes and Charlie’s!), and Lake Trillium. One caution about the cabin, there is a lack of storage. The downstairs bedroom does have a small space to hang items, but nearly all dressers contain bedding. Easy to keep things in the suitcase and stored under the bed, though. And do take the warning of wildlife seriously. Our (adult) kids were walking down the street at night and saw a bear. He saw them and ran into the neighbor’s yard.Overall, a nice time here at Laughing Bear.

This is a quirky, cute 3 BR cabin. Lots of interesting touches such as door latch systems, carved and stuffed bears everywhere. Beautiful creek behind property, hot tub under the pines and a cool suspension bridge shortcut to town where groceries and restaurants are. This is not a good place for people with balance or mobility issues- the toilets are in confined spaces and 2 bedrooms are up uneven stairs. There is a late check in but owner allowed us to drop our stuff off early as place was unoccupied day before. If you like log cabins I highly recommend this!

This was a perfect place to stay for a few days in the drippy Pacific NW forest, just minutes from Mt. Hood, convenient retail and dining. Although we could hear highway noise, it was blended with the rushing waters of the Zig Zag River only yards away, We felt cozy and secluded.

Really cool old cabin that seems to be very much original. A few updates like electricity and heat, and indoor plumbing (unlike my grandma's old cabin). Location is close to everyplace we wanted to go, and features a very short walk to the river and footbridge. Cozy, but not too small. Comfortable beds, plenty of seating. We really enjoyed our stay!

Hood, Government Camp (Huckleberry Shakes and Charlie’s!), and Lake Trillium. One caution about the cabin, there is a lack of storage. The downstairs bedroom does have a small space to hang items, but nearly all dressers contain bedding. Easy to keep things in the suitcase and stored under the bed, though. And do take the warning of wildlife seriously. Our (adult) kids were walking down the street at night and saw a bear. He saw them and ran into the neighbor’s yard.Overall, a nice time here at Laughing Bear.

Great getaway and relaxing trip. A way to step away from reality and just relax with a cozy fire and great views. The sound of the river is amazing. Brad is great with communication and made my stay easy and effortless!

Considering this place looks hand built, it's in pretty good shape. Upstairs has soft spots, but we ended up avoiding due to my service dog being unwilling to go up them. The place was clean, free of pests, and overall a very comfortable stay.Where this place shines is in the communication with the host. Brad was very responsive and accommodating. Friendly and professional. Overall, very happy with our stay from beginning to end!

This is a quirky, cute 3 BR cabin. Lots of interesting touches such as door latch systems, carved and stuffed bears everywhere. Beautiful creek behind property, hot tub under the pines and a cool suspension bridge shortcut to town where groceries and restaurants are. This is not a good place for people with balance or mobility issues- the toilets are in confined spaces and 2 bedrooms are up uneven stairs. There is a late check in but owner allowed us to drop our stuff off early as place was unoccupied day before. If you like log cabins I highly recommend this!

If you want to stay in a real and unique Steiner Cabin then this is your place. If you don't want to try and figure out how to open every single door in the place, have the owner make you sign your life away, be surrounded by clutter and have to take a shower before you walk outside in the cold to the hot tub, then it might not be your place.

We had a quick weekend getaway at Laughing Bear and had a great time. It was exactly what us friends needed. The cabin was full of charm and had everything we needed except an aux cord to listen to music on the stereo. Brad was easy to communicate with and everything was great!

Loved the hiking trails and scenic views near the property. There’s a beautiful river in the backyard area that has a bridge you can take to the main road. The cabin felt so homey and cozy 💕

Absolutely adored this place, we could not have been more pleased. Walking distance to a dog friendly coffee shop, Fernies, suspension bridge over a river, roaring river sounds in the hot tub, mountain air with a 100% true cabin experience. Lots of space for 5 adults, 13 and 3 year old. Very quiet road as well. Short driving distance to Lake Trillium and Mt. Hood. This was a perfect place to stay for a few days in the drippy Pacific NW forest, just minutes from Mt. Hood, convenient retail and dining. Although we could hear highway noise, it was blended with the rushing waters of the Zig Zag River only yards away, We felt cozy and secluded.

This cabin made a wonderful getaway from the Portland area as it’s so close, but so peaceful and out of the hustle and bustle! The hot tub under the treesand the nearby river were definitely some highlights

Great cabin with amazing history. Love the location.. walk in the woods and along the river! Great little neighborhood with a fun gnome walk.. we found 35 gnome homes. Fun for kids and adults too!

Really cool old cabin that seems to be very much original. A few updates like electricity and heat, and indoor plumbing (unlike my grandma's old cabin). Location is close to everyplace we wanted to go, and features a very short walk to the river and footbridge. Cozy, but not too small. Comfortable beds, plenty of seating. We really enjoyed our stay!

We had a wonderful time. the cabin is cozy and warm. almost everything you need is provided in the kitchen and bathrooms. Nice area to walk around and the sound of the river is lovely. We will stay there again.

Very unique! Handmade log cabin nestled in the fairytale wood. There are many houses nearby but it feels very private. Great fire-pit and hot tub. We took day trips to lakes and hiking then returned to play games, cook and fall asleep to the sound of the river. Lots of room with extended family. Great for little kids who got the real PNW experience. Make sure to take a walk to find fairy doors. The host was helpful, responsive but not intrusive.

The hot tub was quite pleasant and clean. The wi-fi was very good. The vhs-dvd combo machine would not read the dvd movies we brought with us. The kitchen has a full size refrigerator, unfortunately all the dishes needed to be washed before use.

Loved the great old log cabin vibe. 2 of the 3 bedrooms are upstairs, and the bedroom with just a double in it downstairs. Be aware of that if you have elderly, young, or unstable guests coming with you. Great location for great walks. I hear the hot tub was great. A great place for a relaxing getaway.

The cabin was really well made and interesting to see. The hot tub was super clean and worked well, and the fireplace was very nice. The roads in and out were a bit difficult to drive through, especially if you have a big car, but it was worth it.
