Extended Stay America Suites - Memphis - Germantown West

The dang elevator needs to be maintained so it can be available the next time I check in for a week stay. Other than that the cost overall is suitable for the amenities and living arrangements

I spend 5 nights in this hotel where I just slept during my stay, didn’t spent much time during the day. The room was stinky and not very clean, no toilet paper, sticky floor and noisy at night. Staff was ok, breakfast grab and go was not provided. I asked in the front desk and the guy told me they were having problems with supplies. Fire alarm activated around 3 am one night. I asked in the front desk and they told me they didn’t know what happened. I came here with very low expectations anyways.

If you staying for a night is a great spot. Elevator floor was dirty. But I would stay again.

For the price the hotel met our need of a place to sleep overnight. Butvthe condition of the property was very bad. The exterior entryway had colllapsed so there was police tape all over the entrance and the elevator was "out of order" so we carried our bags up the stairs. We usually stay at a Hampton Inn when we are in Memphis and will be going back to that.

Room felt dirty. Slight rain and the whole parking lot is flooded, Fire alarm went off in the middle of night multiple times. They didn’t have coffee out every morning. Cheap for great location

Need some sitting arrangement for the guest in the lobby and keep the coffee available during day time.

Very nice looking property and nice area. Well it was an interesting stay. Got into the room and the fire alarm went off, repeatedly for several minutes - oh did I mention it was the only room in the hotel where the smoke alarm was going off? Had just arrived, and do not smoke!!! Reported to the night duty desk (6pm) and he came in without knocking and got it turned off. (some sort of code entered into the smoke alarm???) Only a few channels would work on the TV. Was a double bed not a queen bed. Assistant mgr called, and said he would comp room for all the trouble and said to speak with him at 7 AM next morning. I did. He comped $40 of the total bill. I ask him why he did not comp the entire amount as promised-- Oh the system will not let me do it. Hmm, Very odd.

Easy parking, saw security and clean outside of premises

Always a pleasure to stay here when I need to get away from home. Been here many times even months at time. The affordability and location is great. Staff on point. Front desk makes me feel right at home. From dishes to fresh linens and the ability to do my laundry at my leisure. You can’t get anything better. Great example of Extended Stay Germantown West

older hotel-room was basic and clean. bed was comfortable. Phone, TV, and electrical outlet at desk did not work throughout stay-reported to front desk on arrival and work order was placed but no repairs occurred. very frustrating. free breakfast is coffee, packets of grits to make, choice of muffins and or granola bars-no hot food-located in a cabinet next to front door of hotel (not in a room, no seating-grab and go. air conditioner in room worked well, but extremely noisy. Kitchenette empty-requested supplies at desk and was handed 1 plate, 1 bowl, 1 plastic cup with a fork and spoon, a small coffee maker and 1 filter and packet of coffee. No pots or cups.

Room was clean, smelled fresh, and everything was in order.

Would stay here again. Very clean, plenty of towels, a/c works great, pet friendly, staff is cool, quiet area, and everything there is in working condition. Would recommend!

Carpet was very dirty, felt damp too. Light fixture did not work over sink, and exhaust fan in bathroom did not work.

The room was not real clean, floor was very dirty, otherwise everything was good.

The place was nice and clean and large and quiet.

IT WAS NOT AS PICTURED. THIS WAS SO DIRTY. I HAD TO CLEAN THE ROOM BEFORE AND I WAS GLAD I DID! HAD TO REPLACE MY RAGS AT THE DESK.

The sheets in my room were completely dirty with dog hair and muddy dog paws on the inside touching the bed. It seemed like the pools cleaning only flipped the sheets inside out for the next guests (me). The floors were sticky, and there was dog poop on the hallway. Despite all these gross things, the front desk ladies were awesome

Hotel staff were very inviting and friendly. Rooms were really clean. The outside of the hotel was very clean as well. Very inviting. Definitely will be back when we travel to Memphis.

The bathroom was not clean and the whole hotel had a very bad odor. The receptionist wasn’t helpful at all. It is just worn out.

1. Floor in kitchen and bathroom area was sticky. I requested that it be cleaned. It was promptly cleaned. 2. Leather chair in room worn with small splits in the leather. Kitchen counter had permanent stains or previous burn mark on it. The room and fixtures could use a face lift.

I drove 10 hours. Made reservation with Expedia. Get to the hotel and they said they have no vacancies and I need to find other accommodations. Deborah( the lady who working the desk) canceled the reservation and said I wouldn’t be charged. I took a snapshot of her iPad with the cancellation number. I searched the app and tried to chat with someone… never got any response from the virtual chat. No phone number to talked to a live person. So aggravated. It’s 11:30pm and I’m scrambling to find a room- 2 women in a strange city. I ended up calling Best Western and booking though them. I had to back track 20 minutes in the opposite direction to find a place to stay tonight.

Star Keisha and DeAndre from the front desk were very helpful. They treated my family with kindness and respect.

The front desk and staff were fantastic. Friendly and competent! We stayed for 4 nights, showed up LATE, couldn't find and Uber... They were very accommodating even when we arrived at 1am. Thank You !!

The hospitality from the employees at this location was above and beyond! They did far more than they had to and were genuinely compassionate, kind people!

Water damage to rooms left me without a place to stay. That can happen. The problem is that my pre-paid reservation has still not been refunded. I took a photo of the computer screen at the front desk showing they had cancelled my room. I sent this to a Hotels.com supervisor via their Chat feature. They said that this wasn’t sufficient because it’s on the hotel’s internal system - no kidding! Hotels.com says the hotel requires a written inquiry from them and then they confirm the room was unavailable. Well, this was supposedly done when I was live chatting but nothing has happened. The hotel is almost impossible to contact as they don’t answer the phone. How many days does it take for these two organizations to communicate and process the refund? Or maybe they just want to charge for service they failed to render.

Best thing about this place is the front desk staff. They make my time spent away from home feel like they are my new neighbors. Again the price is on point for weekly or monthly stays. You would expect to pay more but nope it’s perfectly reasonable

The hotel had talked with me about my reservation earlier that day but since we didn't arrive until after midnight, they cancelled my room and charged my card. I was so irate and confused and No refund.

Staff was AMAZING and Derick was always cleaning and making all areas smell so good!! Would stay again

I am currently moving back home across country from Oklahoma City to Richmond, VA and needed a safe place to stay in a pinch for my 3 year old cat and I. Using the hotels.com app I was able to locate this cozy little spot tucked away right off the highway in West Germantown (the second safest city in the state to my knowledge) surrounded by medical offices and not far from the hospital. I felt comfortable leaving my truck packed to the brim both inside and in the bed (obviously covered and strapped down) in the parking lot overnight and woke up to everything just as I left it. The room was clean, comfortable and the staff were extremely helpful. I was supposed to arrive before the 11PM check in cut off but was delayed due to stand still traffic on I-40E for over an hour and did not arrive until well after midnight. I called as soon as I knew my situation and Deborah went ABOVE AND BEYOND assisting me with the process. There was a mishap with the system as she attempted to add the $30 pet deposit and would not allow her to charge my card as it was not on file due to using a third party to book. Due to their policy, she was not able to accept payment over the phone and the front desk attendant coming in to work overnight after her was not able to handle any sort of transactions. She attempted to then remove the pet fee in order to check me in but was stopped due to an error that prevented her from doing so. After about 15 minutes on the phone dedicated to resolving this for me,

The room had a smell that was horrible. It was like they cleaned with 3 day old dirty mop water that had bleach poured in with it. The perosn 2 rooms down played music so loud all night! We complained and the front desk clerk said 3 others had complained so she called the room and the music stopped fir 15 minutes then started back. When we left this morning, after getting no sleep, we came out to the parklot where windows had been shattered out of several cars and their belongings wete all over the lot. I definitely will not be staying here again.

If I wasn't so exhausted from driving 11 hours I would NOT have stayed here. My room was gross. There was mold ALL over the chairs (I have pictures), which when I saw that made me question the rest of the cleanliness in my room. My sheets were all pilly and super used. There was no breakfast in the morning as advertised. The only thing that was good about my stay was the woman who checked me in, Deborah. She was super friendly and accommodating -- if only that were enough. I also felt unsafe, and had to clear out my car because apparently there have been issues with break-in's and the hotel had a sign saying they weren't responsible if that happened in their parking lot. If I'd had any idea this place would be like this I wouldn't have booked a room. The photos on the listing are super deceptive, obviously shots taken from the 2 rooms in the hotel that aren't super gross and sleazy.

I don't understand the high rating on this property. If you are a couple or a family I would NOT recommend this hotel. The majority of the patrons are construction workers and truck drivers. The parking lot is full of work vehicles and trucks with trailers. My wife and I checked in around 10:30 PM and there were several men "loitering" in the parking lot. The hotel and rooms are clean, but VERY worn. The shower was very old, the sink was old, the kitchen was worn out. The breakfast an absolute joke. Hot water, coffee, pre-packaged muffins and one granola bar. There was a box of Quaker instand oatmeal that you have to eat from a coffee cup. I would nerver stay at this "hotel" again. I want to say that the staff was extremely nice.

We got there late at night around12:30AM after a long and stormy drive. We went into the lobby to check in where there was no clerk. There was no bell or any obvious way to get their attention. My husband clapped his hands loudly to get someone’s attention, the clerk came out and yelled at him saying, “There are people living here you need to be quiet.” Once we got to our room, the bathroom knob was broken and came off in our hand. There was what looked like blood on the wall by the trash can in the bathroom. The shower was difficult to figure out to turn on, get to temperature, and turn off. The TV remote was sticky. I reserved a room with a sofa bed, but there was no sofa bed. The ad states free breakfast which was muffins, granola bars, and coffee. We were talking about staying another night before we got there but did not even want to stay the night at all. I would give 0 stars but can’t. The beds were comfortable though.

Breakfast was gone by 8am No OATMEAL Or GRiTS!!!

The room was ok. The facility was ok. The breakfast shouldn't even be called that. You're lucky if you get a granola bar. You might find an oatmeal packet, but that was the extent of it. The overall cleaniness was above average but could be better. The bed should have been thrown away years ago. If you keep your expectations in check, realizing that you didn't pay as much as some other places so you shouldn't things expect things the same as other places, you'll be happy...and we were.
