Overall, the stay was OK. The oven in the kitchen had a little malfunction but was fixed eventually. The pool was not working properly and I was only able to use the pool two days out of my five day stay, which was a bummer. There was always something wrong with the pool.

Ive machine not worlk toilets not flush laundry room down pop machine not work .snack machine not work ..walk way to rooms all cracked not looking like they gonna hold up long . Inot worth the money u pay at all.people should get half they money back

We had a lovely time at the Ocean Plaza. It was right on the ocean giving us easy access to the beach and we did take advantage of the indoor pool and hot tub. It is definitely dated but the staff were always helpful and friendly. The outdoor pool was not open yet but it did have a lot of debris in it.

Great location but not the clearest. Pool was dirty but kids don't care.

To not fault of there own, the pool has set hours, so the access to the beach is closed until the pool opens. So you have to walk to a public access point.

Motel was okay,lots of updating needed,hallways dirty,pools need to be repainted, there is a resort fee of17.00 per night.i didn't expect this.

When we arrived we had a check in at the other hotel we were never told that the elevator did not work so for the first day and a half had to climb four flights of stairs which made a very difficult since I just had knee injections done the outside condition of the building was horrendous the pool was Green I don't believe I would stay there again I would definitely find a different place

The floor in the room was dirty, the tub and toilet had stains and looked like they had just been sprayed out and not cleaned. The only good thing about the room was that thankfully the bed was clean and nice to sleep on. The elevator sounds like one wrong move and it’ll collapse. The outside is dirty and looks like it hasn’t been taken care of. The pool hasn’t been cleaned in who knows how long and I had to pull trash and cigarette buds out of the pool even tho you can’t smoke around the pool. The access to the pool was confusing but at least the access to the beach was easy to use. All in all this place was too expensive for what it is. I guess they can charge whatever since it’s on the beach.

Our stay was AMAZING. It was so clean. Great location and very clean.

The room was clean and ready when we got there, check in was quick and easy. Other reviews said they never got any clean towels or service. And also said housekeeping was rude, but that wasn’t the case. We got clean towels every day. It was a good stay !!!

We had to buy a mop and bleach to clean the floors because they were so dirty and the carpet was very dirty The bathroom was very small, so small the door hit the toilet and wouldn’t open fully The motel is very run down and over all just a dirty place The pot smell is horrible from all over the property

Did not book this hotel but my reservation was switched with no notification. So many baby cockroaches in the bathroom that we took most of our belongings back to the car. Very much outdated but bed was comfy asside from the bug paranoia. Would not stay here again

The motel was a nice looking motel had a stove and silverware nice fridge but I got pictures of bed bugs in our room I got bitten by bed bugs here

Great price for last minute vacation, however the front desk resceptionist was very rude. The room had poor cleaning, the floor felt sticky and there was nold on the lamp shade, the bed was very nice but the walls, ceiling, floor, mold felt very unclean.

Property needs renovations. Stayed in room 407. I wasn't happy about the crack in the tub because it's a hazard. The removeable ceiling tiles in the bathroom and kitchenette areas were creepy. I'm 5'5 and was able to touch the ceilings in both areas. The keys to enter the room wasn't very reassuring. I'm use to a key card for entry for past hotel stays. First time needing multiple keys to enter my room. The AC was as low as it could go on 60 degrees, but it was still warm. Maintenance brought a very loud commercial grade blower fan. Staff was nice and it was easy access to the beach.

Check in wasn't at this facility had to checkin at facility next door. Only furnishings in room were bed and 1 night stand. No table or chairs or rack to place suitcase on. Lighting in room terrible as was internet and tv. There was coffee maker in room but had to pay for coffee pods at office.Very disappointed facility nothing like pictures on site. Had to pay $100 CASH deposit and wait for room to be inspected before money was refunded. I would not stay here again.

Our side view room was pretty good, the only complaint was the air conditioning was not as great as we needed. Other than that, housekeeping brought towels and toiletries everyday!! Check in was pretty fast and easy, and since we used our debit card for the room the security deposit was waived. Upon getting here I read the reviews and was nervous about our stay. But honestly it was perfect for our family and we would come back again for sure!

My room also had no desk or table. I had to eat my dinner and try to work remotely in the bed. The bed was comfortable enough but my productivity was shot. Microwave didn’t work properly; slow drain in the tub, floor in tub sinking, a heavy person my fall through.

You get what you pay for. Wouldn't recommend it. Our room looked old and weathered. Only good thing it was right on the beach ⛱️

Old motel that is dirty and run down. But the price is best for easy access to beach and in area of all good things to do. So just a bed that allows some sleep between running around is good. If you can’t deal with crappy bed and beat up facilities, not for you. But if you can, it’s easy in and out to beach and food and fun all around in five ten minutes without blowing your money on the stay it’s nice.

FOR TWO HUNDRED DOLLAR A NIGHT. WAKING UP WITH A BACK ACHE AND NOT BEING ABLE TO GET BACK TO SLEEP!!! GET SOME GOOD BEDS IF YOU ARE GOING TO CHARGE THAT PRICE TO SAY THE LEAST

The view was amazing, our room was really clean. Sliding glass door was hard to open to the balcony. The VIEW absolutely loved it! The atm was out of service so I had to walk at 2 am to nearest atm for the 100.00 key deposit for third party booking.

I’d like to preface with…you get what you pay for. The staff was very pleasant so, no complaints there but, the entire building could use some refreshing. In our room, the toilet flushed when it felt like it…which wasn’t very often. The room also came with additional tenants of the insect kind. For an older building the walls seemed very thin because sounds from our neighbors were audible, luckily we were in a corner unit. It is a beach front property however it did not have direct access to the beach. Getting to the beach required you to walk through the parking lot past another hotel and through their parking lot. The check out process was a bit much…like, I had to wait for the clerk to receive confirmation that the room was “clear” before getting my cash deposit back and being dismissed.

The stay was great. My family and mom enjoyed the stay. Loved being that close to the beach and having access to two pools. The room itself was nice despite the small bathroom and hardly any water pressure. Overall would stay again.

The property could be cleaned and updated . There is corrosion in the bathrooms and showers . You can’t check out until 9am until a manager arrives to receive your deposit back . A couple waited hours to check out just to receive their deposit . They do NOT enforce rules . Overall a terrible and unclean experience.

The customer service at the front desk was exceptional. There was a small issue with the fact that I had two different reservations for the same room, but it was handled with quick professionalism. I hope to return to this hotel soon.

Our entire experience was awful. I highly recommend you stay somewhere else. First, we had to check in at the adjacent hotel because I guess there isn't enough staff to manage the hotel we were staying in. Then you had to leave a $100 cash, security deposit. Yes, it's 2023 but this hotel will not allow you to use your credit card for a security deposit. They would not budge and when asked to speak with the manager they informed me that wasn't one. They informed me they would put the cash in an envelope and you will get it when you checkout. Luckily, my wife and I were able to scrounge up enough cash. They also wanted to see everyone's identification who was staying in the room. I thought this was a little odd as well. The hotel is very old and as i expected it, the rooms were outdated and dirty as well. We found dental floss on the floor as well as a plastic bag. The lighting was terrible and the shower drain was clogged. The bed was okay luckily. When we went to checkout, we discovered they didn't open up until 0830. So, we had to wait until then in order to get our cash back. You are SOL if you want to get on the road early on your departure day. I found this to be very unaccommodating but again, they had our money because they wouldn't take charge, We went to the adjacent hotel where we checked in and they informed us that we could check out in our hotel and they had our money. I felt like i was being jerked around non-stop. It was a terrible hotel.

Was unaware of the extra hidden fees that we had to pay when we got to the hotel which these prices was never mentioned online whenever I done the reservation and they also didn't say that that hotel was a current and active construction site. Will not be going back to this hotel and the staff was very rude and disrespectful

Check in requires a $100 cash only deposit. Was not indicated prior to arrival. The person at the front desk was incredibly rude When trying to convince me that this policy was clearly posted On Expedia. My room was not available for check-in until after check-in time.

We stayed at this property last year no issues. This year the staff was completely rude ! Never told us of a $100 cash deposit and the atm would only allow $20 at a time with a $4 fee. It was HOT and they would not work with us. We had to WALK to find a working ATM. When we came back, the one said to the other, look here is your best friend. I called her out on it and she said was talking to someone else. Asked for clean towels 4 times. Finally got towels on the day before we left. We will never stay here again

The establishment is was very run down and in need of some upgrading. The floor was covered in sand from the previous occupant. The bath tub only drained when you took the cover off. The convenience of the location is great. Direct beach access, a block from shops and restaurants. For the price, it was a great location.

Service was poor. No eye contact made at front desk to assist even when they know you are standing waiting for service. Then no eye contact when helping you. Short responses to questions. Hotel is in older section of Myrtle Beach, area more run down. People crowded in parking lot drinking and smoking drugs. Didn't feel comfortable here with small kids. Parking lot in front of hotel has underground parking, structure actually moves when cars drive on it. Definitely not structurally sound. Our bathroom had grime build up on walls and actual boogers dried on the walls. We didn't even shower during our two night stay because the the bathroom was so gross. I booked and payed for this hotel in advance to visit, would not of stayed here if I knew what the area and hotel was like in advance.

The tried their best but the the premises is old an delapidated We had to go elsewhere to register. No Coffee. Toilet not functioning. Very poor cable TV reception. For $US 128 a real rip of

This was a beautiful hotel right on the beach w/ gorgeous ocean views. I even had a kitchenette which was great. The front desk staff was very friendly. I had an issue w/ something in my room so maintenance tech came within a few minutes to fix it for me. I would certainly stay there again.

Right on the beach, close to the airport, has a small kitchen and refrigerator. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. Beds were clean, but floor was not - carpet turned the soles of our feet black. Need to replace the filthy carpet with new carpet or tile, in room 204. It is a budget hotel, sub 3 stars, but not terrible, would stay here again, if with lowbrow companions with low expectations that just wanted to be close to the beach.

Stayed two nights at Ocean Plaza Motel. Rooms are ok for what you pay for. Nothing special. Everything worked. No bugs throughout our stay. The carpet could have been cleaner. That’s really my only con. You’d think they would have a broom/dust pan or small vacuum since you are back and forth to the beach tracking in sand but there isn’t. Due to no check in lobby at the property itself,there isn’t fresh coffee brewing nor is there coffee in the rooms. Be sure to bring hand soap A broom and dust pan Coffee If your on a budget like myself then this motel isn’t a bad stay! Will look elsewhere to see if I can get more bang for my Buck next time.

Having been to Myrtle Beach numerous times, this place is a classic. It’s not super upscale or “ bougie” you get what you pay for. Myself, husband and two kids aged 8 & 11 had a blast. The whole point is the beach which we had an ocean view and our room had a little kitchenette as well! Super affordable and close to everything!! Plus the girl who was at the front desk was soooo sweet and super helpful! Definitely would stay again!

TERRIBLE. THERE WAS A RESORT FEE, BUT NO DISH CLOTH OR COFFEE CUPS, OR WATER CUPS OR PAPER TOWELS. WHERE WAS THE SMALL SOAP OR SHAMPOO???
