Astoria Rivershore Motel

Parking was a little too packed, often had trouble finding some. Other than that it was perfect and my stay in Astoria was amazing.

There was free parking on site and we could walk to most things we wanted to see and do in Astoria, such as Breweries, Oregon Film Museum and the Maritime Museum!

The room was great. The bed was extremely comfortable. The vanity was nice and big. The HVAC unit was very quiet, which was lovely. Shower was great, good and hot, with nice waterflow. My only suggestion for improvement was that there were no towel bars or hooks to hang anything in either the shower room or the bathroom vanity, except for the towel bar over the toilet and the shower rod. There was nothing by the sink, which meant the towels had to rest on the vanity, but it's a minor issue. The fan and the shower area was very loud. But again, a minor issue. Parking was easy. Location was great, right across from the riverwalk.

Room 111 nice room , nicely furnished and remodeled . Air conditioning was great. Microwave oven, micro frige with larger freezer were great. The coffee maker and coffee were also very nice. The bed was comfortable. The room was clean. The only things that were disappoinitng were the top of the desk and the dresser top were badly worn and need staining and refinishing. I found the ice machine, but it appeared to be broken. However, I would stay there again.

There was no ice or drinks available on property. The room & view were excellent.

Reserved room late at 9pm after a long day driving in difficult weather conditions. They did try to call me after the reservation was made, but I missed the call that they close at 10pm. Made it in at 9:50pm helpful front desk who got it all taken care of. The room was clean, the shower hot, but no ice on site?? Went to office at 10:20pm no answer, called from room but no answer. Not a deal breaker but odd.

The hotel was old but well maintaned, Ice machine was broken. The staff was amazing. We had car trouble on the way there and they went out of their way to accomidate our situation.

Very clean rooms and friendly check in but right on the main road

Staff was extremely friendly. The rooms were okay. The floors were not very clean and dirty towels were left behind from the previous people staying in the room. The room was also very damp and there was a bit of a musty smell to the room. I think they know there’s a smell to the room because when we checked in, the window was cracked open. The price was very reasonable, so I wasn’t expecting a lot from the motel room.

When you arrive, you see a large notice on the office door saying no smoking or marijuana allowed. When you enter the office, you’re hit by the strong odor of weed. The lady working the desk seemed annoyed by my presence. Definitely not a friendly encounter, but efficient. My room was on the second level, which I appreciated as there was no one above or next to it. On opening the door, the room smelled super musty. This is somewhat understandable considering the age of the motel and its location on the coast. I opened the window, cranked up the fan, and left the door open while I brought my stuff up from the car. Doing my check of the bed, I found one pillow with oily,head shaped stains. Pulling back the sheet, there were hairs all over the mattress pad(both long & short)but no bugs. I used a damp cloth to wipe down the pad as best I could. The main area of the carpet was clean, but every corner and edge was dirty.The space between the refrigerator and cabinet had so much dust and dirt you could plant crops. The upper shelves of the cabinet were so dusty I wiped them off before I put things there. Additionally, a fair amount of road noise, but not their fault. Since I was leaving super early the next morning, I decided to tough it out. Pros: Location if you’re fishing Buoy 10, good shower. Cons: See above Would not recommend. Better to spend a little more and drive a bit further.

I do not recommend you guys staying here. The beds have bedbugs. They don’t clean the bathroom right there was hair from the last person that stayed there.

Good location to our meeting location for fishing in the mornings but we did not hurry back to relax in our room, in fact we came up with any excuse not to return to our room until we just needed to go to sleep. The lady at the front desk was nice and helpful enough, but there were a lot of little things that added up to make our stay not so great. Right off the bat, when we got in the room, after 5 hours of driving, found that we didn’t have any soap in the room. I’m not sure what other amenities we were missing but I had to run back down and ask for soap so we could wash our hands. The freezer was left open as well so took awhile to re-freeze and be usable. The tub floor felt like you were standing on a waterbed, it sloshed like under the tub was full of water and there was a large chunk of … something… left in the tub from a previous occupant. The fan in the bathroom screeched so bad we couldn’t bare to use it, so all our showers and using the bathroom was done in the dark. There were ants all over the room. The couch was oddly tall and firm and was very uncomfortable to sit on. The TV in the bedroom wasn’t connected to any cable for signal but we could get the living room tv to work. On our second day housekeeping came in our room, even though we didnt ask them too, and took the trash out of the can, put a new bag in it and left the old bag full of garbage in the middle of our floor… we were definitely let down in this stay and not at all worth what we paid.

The rooms are decent, spacious and equipped kitchen is very convenient, plentiful parking, and friendly front desk staff. The only issue was the cleanliness. There were the usual things -- back of doors and baseboard heaters were grungy -- but much worse. Faeces on toilet seat, pretty sure a couple towels were not washed between guests, hairs around bathroom, unclean surfaces. Once you discover a few of these things, you just don't feel clean in the room at all.

The receptionists was friendly, The room had an over powering mold smell. The shower ceilings paint was peeling, and was wet by exhaust fan, which is why the mold smell. Will not return.

You never know what you’re going to get with a roadside motel, but these rooms looked like they were recently remodeled and were very clean. Had all the amenities. it was in a great location. We were very pleased with our stay.

The carpets were sticky and dirty. my shoes or socks would stick to the carpet. The wood furniture was so trashed and broken. The furniture was so filthy I did not want to sit on it but had to as the there was no tv in the bedroom as advertised because apparently someone broke it, and they did not replace it, so the living room was the only place to watch tv. The front desk was friendly when I checked in, but she was rude when I questioned the lack of tv. I only picked this hotel for the suite as one of the guests needed to sleep during the day for work but will never stay here again as it was so gross. I would think I would have been offered a discount with not having a tv in the room as advertised.

The separate bedroom aspect was amazing for traveling with a friend and the quality of the bed, pillows, shower, and kitchen were all standouts.

Great value for the money. Clean, walkable to downtown/breweries/Riverfront trolley, and clearly recently remodeled kitchen. Dividing door in kitchenette suite is great if you are sharing a room or want a separate area for kids. We would definitely stay here again next time we’re in Astoria.

It might look dated from the outside, but the rooms were very clean and nicely updated with modern fixtures and comfortable beds.

Near a busy street so noisy - comfortable beds/pillows

We stayed in the 2 bedroom, 2 queen beds room. Was spacious, clean and comfortable. Both rooms had their own tv, though there is not a door between the rooms, but we didn't care. It was nice to have the space.Clean, the bed wasn't super comfortable, but it was fine. I'd stay here again. The area around the motel though was fine but we made sure to have nothing left in the car, just to be safe.

Hotel staff was great. Rooms do not look like they do in the photos...furniture is very old and stained. No AC. And wifi does not work well in all rooms. Good location, but loud street noise.

We paid a little extra for the full kitchen and were pleased that the bedroom was on the back away from the street noise. We slept very well.

The pros are that it's well located in Astoria, easy to find and close to most everything. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were fine. The place had updated interiors although it generally feels older. It was clean except for a weird green stain on the bathtub that I didn't investigate. The cons are that the location is right on the main drag and it was noisy all night. A surprising number of people were driving at 4am. The walls are thin so we heard the people talking in the next room over until 1am. Most annoying was the plumbing which emitted a high pitched squeal whenever you used any plumbing (toilet, sink, etc.) or your neighbors did. It went on for quite a while after the water use ended. We didn't use the shower so no remarks on that. A special note on the unfriendly check in lady. There's a sign that only 2 people at a time who are together can be in the little check in area (meaning everyone else is outside in the weather). My husband joined me a few minutes after me and she went right into kicking him out without asking if he was with me. We had to interrupt her spiel to explain that he was indeed with me so it was ok for him to be there. Would have been nice if she asked first before giving him the "you gotta get out of here" speech. It was OK for one night but would only stay again if there are no other options.

Great hotel and Staff were very friendly!

Older motel along major road down by the waterfront close to town for restaurants and shopping. The staff could have been friendlier and more welcoming. A basic, older motel that was good for a one night stay. Nothing note worthy but good price for what you got. It was clean and comfortable.

Super friendly and helpful staff

Rivershore is my go to place when I stay in Astoria , but this time I was not happy . My first room had water in front of the fridge and it wasnt working , so I was moved into the corner room , there were issues with that room where I called the next day to get it properly cleaned and the other issues fixed , it arrived after work to find nothing had been done to fix any of the issues so I was transfered back to my orginal room after the fridge issue was corrected . That room was up to the usual high standard I have come to expect . I put the maid sign out when I left for work and came back to the room after work and nothing had been done . This is the second week in a row I couldn't get maid service. Hopefully my stay next week will be without issues. I still recommend this motel .

Staff were friendly and provided excellent recommendations, parking was adequate, the room was clean, and the bed was comfortable-definitely a hidden gem!

Front desk took 23 minutes to check in the guest in front of me. Yeesh.

Great and friendly service.

The room itself is nice nice, but it is on a very busy street. There is no staffing after a certain hour so if there is difficulty, really no one to help you out. There was a family with children overhead that made a huge amount of noise, and no way to get help with that.

When I went to check in the lady was very rude. The room was very nice though.

Super easy and accessible property to reach coming from Washington that puts you just a few minute walk away from the down town strip Astoria. Get a beautiful view of the Megler bridge from anywhere at the motel.

Located about 1/4 mile from down town. 3rd street stop for the trolley is close. The Motel was clean. Very basic- King size bed, fridge and microwave, pvt Bathroom (not shared) Pleasant office staff.

The view provided and the location is great! Super easy access to the Columbia River walk and downtown area. I especially liked the price considering all other things. Thank you.

Absolutely amazing! Great views, perfect location for walking or a short drive to most places. Very close to many restaurants and stores, great room sizes and very clean. This is my go-to motel when visiting the beach!!

Outside had cigarette butts and trash around. For the cost could have a little continental breakfast in room.

Very clean room and kitchen. Kitchen even had some plates and utencils, and pots and pans, and a large fridge, toaster, and microwave, so you could cook anything if you wanted to. Walking distance to Pig'n'pancakes restaurant, and very close to downtown Astoria. Plenty of parking. Easy access to any part of Astoria and the main roads.

I am not trying to complain because I thought it would be easier to connect and travel to family and just needed it for one night just to sleep, I was staying at the Ebb Tide in seaside so it was definitely a downgrade from the hotel i was staying at currently. Oven and dishes & carpets where dirty. There was no air conditioning even though we were on the coast and did not need it they did provide a fan for are flow the hotel was damp. It is on a main road that has allot of tractor trailers moving up and down all hours of the night and for the price there was no continental breakfast.

Dated look on the outside but the room was fine. Comfortable climate, clean washroom, comfortable bed. All appliances worked Sound isolation was a bit low, so you could hear traffic driving outdoors, but it was not too disturbing. About 20 minutes walk to the downtown core which was fine. Stores and restaurants within 1 minute walk as well. Fast 120 Mbps internet Overall satisfied with the stay and would stay again

It's been upscaled inside from the last time. Clean and fine. My only nit is this locked office door till 3pm business. It's fine to not allow early check in, but if you're going to stay there and you arrive early, how can you get permission to park and come back later to check in? I banged on the door and the lady came out unhappy but instantly cooled down when I said i just wanted to park and go over to the Triangle for a few beer...

This accommodation was a good buy. Bed was very comfortable. We purchased food at Safeway close by. This was an unplanned/not budgeted over night stay.

My husband, son and I stayed at the hotel when we came to Astoria for a fishing trip. It’s not fancy but we really liked having a full kitchen and an extra bedroom. Everything was very clean and we enjoyed our stay. Lots of great restaurants in town!

Restaurants are next door easy walking 4 minutes.

No breakfasts for the price should have. Very clean and friendly
