Pool was not open and weather for previous 3 days was in the 90's with a real feel of 96. No person , real person on site. This makes me uncomfortable and I will NOT ever book any hotel with no person on board.

Very, very disappointed that the pool was not up and running. This was one of the main reasons that we selected this facility and paid a higher price for it. Only to get there and discover that the pool is not usable. There should be some compensation for that, at least. Otherwise, the room was nice enough. A paper clip regulating the toilet flush mechanism....

This was a very clean and spacious room ! Loved the way they do check-in. No line and no entery card to carry around. The pool was great too. Highly recommended !!!

Rooms very clean and nice for a motel. They had a nice outdoor setup with Adirondack chairs, a fire at night and outdoor pool. The lobby lacked an onsite attendant which was a bit frustrating. There were no cups or K Cups for the coffee which was a bit annoying. Other than that they had gentleman there during the day to supply you with extra towels and empty your trash if needed but didn’t make our beds. I am a mom and it’s nice to have someone else make my bed once in awhile other than me. Fairly positive all around, would recommend.

The property is fantastic. It’s been renovated and the rooms are very clean and well put together. The main area is really cute with games and snacks (light breakfast in the morning as well). The pool was great and they had a fire pit area that was fully stocked with s’mores supplies which my kids loved. We feel lucky we found this place! It was such an easy self-check in process and we received check-in texts from staff throughout the weekend. Would definitely stay again.

Definitely needs a good sanding going down to the back parking lot. Our car was sliding. Also, the back entrance to the lobby was a sheet of ice. Other than that the room was very comfortable and clean.

Hotel room was clean, except for the interior shower curtain which was desperately in need of bleach because of the large mold spots all over it. Bed is comfortable and AC works well. Complimentary water, good sized fridge and enough towels, etc. Only snafu was that we called and asked for an early check in (just 2 hours) and they agreed to accommodate us. But when we arrived, the room still hadn’t been cleaned yet and wouldn’t be ready for almost an hour. It seems the reservation organization isn’t directly in touch with the housekeeping. Very frustrating.

Arrived with no one to check us is, an elderly couple before us was on the phone for 45 minutes trying to get their room number and code. When we got to our room, the toilet was dirty, the door frame and door was black from finger prints. Had problems with our tv, couldn’t turn up volume plus other problems. The note said you can call a 1800 number, but guess what mail box full, so couldn’t get a call back. Coffee machine didn’t work and as for the continental breakfast there wasn’t much. For the price we paid we deserve much better. Spoke to other guests and they were also very disappointed.

I will start with the good: the bed was clean and very comfortable. The shower had plenty of hot water and the showerhead was great! However, if you have paid someone to clean that room, you need to get your money back. When we entered the room, someone had spilled a sticky liquid on one of the bedside tables, which had not been cleaned up. My guess, from the Bud Light beer bottle caps on the floor– which I stepped on – is that it was beer. The rug had obviously not been vacuumed or someone would have seen the bottle caps. There was a yellow ring around the inside of the toilet, which let us know that had not been cleaned either. The table had dried brown spots of what looked like some kind of cola . There were cobwebs in the corners containing caught dead bugs. If someone was supposed to have clean that room, they badly missed the Mark. My husband had to get soap and a washcloth and wash down the nightstand and table, because we could not set anything on them . It was really sad that what could have been a nice stay so obviously had not been prepared since the last guest. the exception to that was that the bed was made with clean linen.

The check in process was disastrous. The property was supposed to send an email link to access the room which was never sent. After leaving several voice mails we finally got a hold of a real person since no one was at the property to help us. The bed was very comfortable but it ended there. There was some mold on the bathroom tile and it appeared the toilet had not been cleaned in quite a while as there was a terrible ring around the water line. We killed a few small bugs and insects. I spilled some contact lens cleaner on the floor and wiped it up and the tissue was very dirty. The stairwell down to the first floor had a horrible odor that they must have known about since a brick kept the door ajar. The room itself was very quiet and the bed was comfortable. Plenty of coffee was available.

This hotel definitely is older…although you can tell they tried to improve its looks and feel. There is a strong sewage smell in the 2nd floor access stairwell…turns your off…. Definitely a 2 star at best.

I liked the tech that was available to us in the room. Big wall mounted Samsung Smart TV with Hulu available to use. Amazon Echo also in room. Our room was spotless. The bed was very comfortable. The parking was convenient. The contact-less check in and check out was easy and convenient. The hotel lobby for guests is comfortable and clean. The person we communicated with via text msg to check in and check out was prompt and courteous.

We really liked our room. We did have a problem with the shower head. It was stripped and wouldn’t stay on. The water went EVERYWHERE, including straight up into the exhaust fan. Very dangerous!!!! We also did not enjoy the remote check in and out. There is no one to speak to about any issues. IE shower. The remodel is beautiful.

Pros: 1) Very comfy bed and pillows! Hard to find when you have chronic back issues, I slept like a baby! 2) Good size tv, as opposed to the 32" tv in most hotels. Also included Disney and Hulu. 3) Mini fridge and keurig that were super convenient. 4) Loved the keyless entry and being able to go straight to our room without check-in. Cons: 1) The pictures are a bit deceiving, it appears that the entire room was just painted black or white and fixtures replaced with matte black. It is essentially a motel and still a bit outdated and dark. 2) The water pressure is equivalent to trying to bath outside during a light rain shower. 3) Not so much the hotel's fault as probably mine in lack of research, but this hotel is not on Tupper Lake. It is in the town of Tupper Lake which borders Raquette Pond. Neither body of water you're going to see or be anywhere close to. Your view is the neighbor's yard. 4) A few basic amenities that were listed are lacking. The "free breakfast" is more of a snack station, the vending machines are almost empty.

The room was huge - enough room for two queen-sized beds with plenty of room for a desk and chairs, a dresser, and an additional seat as well as a comfortable chair. They also have a medium-sized fridge and a Kuerig with coffee and tea available. The bathroom is well-appointed and large.

Checkin is via text. Room # and code. Employee on site very nice man. Room was too cold. Turned on heat, nothing. Called and was told takes very long time to warm up. Called again after 40 minutes and cold heaters and was told maintenance would be here quickly, 1 1/2 hours later called again. Ended up waiting around the motel and delaying our plans for the evening waiting to see if heat worked. It did eventually warm up 2 degrees in 2 hours, 65 to 67, and was warmer when we got back. This is the Adirondacks. It can be 30s in July at night. Just saying waiting for a room to show heat is actually working,.not exactly how I wanted to spend my time.

The bed was excellent - no sagging !! Towels were thick and plush ! Did not like the hair conditioner provided. There was only one outlet by the desk so if you plugged in the light you could not plug in your laptop. Shower did not have a good force so it took a long time to wash and rinse long hair. But I would go there again !

We stayed there specifically to go to the Wild Center. The motel has no windows in the front and is painted black. The rooms were updated with a great look, having painted the tiled ceilings black and changing out fixtures to all black. It really works well. Our room had a connecting room, so we could hear our neighbors talking. NP., we slept really well because the lack of windows in the front kept us from hearing everybody leaving the next morning. Would definitely stay there again!

I had a great experience here. Came up solo to do some hikes in the area and it was exactly what I was looking for. Make sure that you do the check-in ahead of the day of arrival however, I didn't do it until I was already driving up and ending up having to call to get my door code. Miguel was very responsive and friendly on the phone however and it was not an issue at all. Room was very nice and clean and it was nice having Hulu in the room. Will be considering staying here again next time I need a hotel in Tupper Lake.

Place would have been awesome if we did not wait an hour and a half for self check in after driving 7 hours. Called number on website and door of hotel no answer. Never received email or text with check in info yet I received 6 texts and emails for other things. Orbitz customer service no help either as I couldn’t reach a service rep. If it wasn’t for awesome gentleman who worked there we found in the wash room we might still be waiting. Ended up having to miss dinner and late for event.

This is a no front desk motel. I’ve had difficulty reaching someone to talk to about problems with check-in. Both times I’ve called support number the voicemail was full. My written messages were not acknowledged. Trailhead has registration system that demanded info from folks in both rooms when I had booked and paid for both; that made for awkward registration since my relatives in other room were not local to me, and I’m not a geek with all the messages demanding info from them. There was also comprehension problem with the cleaning crew—I had told one that rooms thirty and thirty-one were leaving in an hour. The man didn’t understand me, so I said rooms 30 and 31. He then proceeded to go to room 30 and knock on door to see if it was vacant (?)

Check-in was a nightmare and took nearly an hour with multiple unsuccessful attempts to contact the help phone number given at the site. This motel has no staff on hand to check you in or answer questions/solve problems. The help phone number leads to a recorded message telling you to leave a message, but the mailbox is full and does not accept messages. I finally figured out how to navigate an online check-in system, but after filling out the forms and providing all the request information, when you pressed the SUBMIT button at the bottom, nothing happened. Additionally, the motel said that there is a breakfast but there was no food available at 7:30 AM when we tried to find something to eat. The room itself was acceptable, but the misrepresentation of this company assures that not only will I never deal with this company again, and I will warn my friends and relatives not to do so either. During the hour that we in the motel welcome area trying to contact a human, there were two other couples that were having the same problem as us, Disgraceful!

I've always liked Shaheen's, now Trailhead, but the current checkin arrangements were poor: I made reservations thru Expedia, who told me the remote checkin room number and code info would be provided 24 hrs before checkin--when it wasn't, I called the Trailhead phone number but received message that no voice mailbox was set up. I then sent email to Trailhead, who responded that I should have received email code from Expedia; that didn't arrive until about 2 hrs before checkin. It was frustrating to not be able to get the checkin info until shortly before arrival.

The room was nice enough. However the instructions I was given to get in the room were incorrect. They said to put in the code and then hit the center key. They didn’t say that you also had to hit the center key before entering the code as well. That caused quite a bit of confusion. There was a rubber strip that was part of the door frame which fell out. They said to text if I wanted the room cleaned. I did that but the room wasn’t cleaned.

This property shows style and comfort every where you look: the bed was cozy and the bathroom clean. Check in was fast since they send you a code so you don’t need to wait. Location is ideal, in a quiet area. Highly recommended.

The breakfast situation was terrible. They advertised having grab and go items such as granola bars and there was nothing. The shelf was completely empty except for coffee and a couple pieces of fruit for the entire hotel.

We liked the room, decor, property condition, location and price. We didn't read the confirmation notice close enough to learn that we needed to download the Goki app before we could receive our room code. We gave up after a while trying to figure out the TV. A notice read that the hotel provided and Hulu and Disney Channels; when we selected these we found we needed to set up accounts and pay. The provided breakfast was disappointing. Only one half-gallon of milk was in the refrigerator and that was gone fairly early. I only got to the kitchen in time to get milk and juice one out of three mornings. Staff should be on hand to restock supplies.

The room was beautiful but bathroom sink was dirty. The “light breakfast” was terrible. Little to no options and food was expired. There was also no one to touch base with onsite.

We have stayed at Trailhead several times. The room and pool are always clean. The property is well run. The property did a good job of bringing us an air mattress after Expedia booked our family of 5 in a 4-person room. The grab and go snacks were grabbed by others and there weren't refills provided throughout the breakfast timeframe.

When I read about the hotel. It said free breakfast. Whenever we go away which is not often. I look for hotels that offer free breakfast. I did not realize it meant continental. Everything else was fine. But we were rather disappointed in the breakfast selection. Also, planning on returning in July. We really hope the pool is cleaned and up and running.

Was happy with our accommodations. Mattress was a stand out. Very good. TV was brand new but we were unable to figure out how to work it. 😂 The one disappointment was that hotels.com didn’t seem responsive to our request for room # and room code. I notified them I had not received it as promised and no response. When we arrived at hotel, front desk couldn’t find our reservation. Finally he said he has trouble with this when 3rd parties are involved. He was able to handle the issue promptly and we were set.

Tried to cancel room, phone number given to me by the Lake Placid office was no longer active. My 80 year old husband had taken a bad fall and we had to cancel our trip. Company needs to make it easier to contact them !!!
