This was a spectacular stay, through and through. Every interaction and experience pleasant. From top to bottom. The best in the biz, so accommodating and helpful and kind. Fell in love with Schenectady as a result. You have to have the coffee at Graham's Coffee Parlor in the main level. Also, be mindful of the work it takes to maintain such a place, and then revel in their vision and the comfort abound. Will be back. Grateful for everything. History lives here.

The room was large, beautiful, and full of light from the four large windows; the room and attached bathroom were both spotless. The owner and staff were all super friendly. I took part in an excellent yoga class in the studio on the second floor, which was also beautiful and light-filled from large windows. Graham’s coffee shop on the ground floor served an excellent cappuccino in a real cup and had lots of tasty-looking pastry options, including some vegan and gluten free. It was my birthday and the owner gave me much-appreciated perks to make my stay even more special. I definite recommend this gorgeous, historic hotel, which is located in the very walkable Stockade neighborhood and close to restaurants, a movie theater, Proctor’s theater, and the Mohawk River for nice walks.

Parking was easy. Staff was responsive. Rooms desperately need to be updated and cleaned a bit better. We were on the third floor. Windows didn’t open and there was no A/C or television. The coffee shop downstairs was excellent.

The owners and staff are some of most friendly people I have ever met, I would return for the hospitality alone. This inn has a lot of historic charm and is in the process of being renovated to provide some more modern touches while still staying authentic to the feel of the building. My room was very comfortable and I was a 4 minute walk away from the concert I was attending at Frog Alley Brewing Co. The staff checked in via text the morning of my arrival to see when I was expected to arrive and the following morning to see if I needed anything and recommend I check out the coffee bar. In the morning, I went down and grabbed a iced blueberry honey cake latte and a lemon oat bar for breakfast from Graham's Coffee Parlor. The coffee parlor looked fabulous and the staff was kind. The coffee & baked goods were delicious! If I had more time, I had planned on checking out the yoga studio and potentially even getting a massage but I needed to hit the road. Can't wait to return and see the continued improvements.

This is our second stay at The Stockade Inn, a boutique hotel in a historic property located in a historic district. The rooms are still lovely with a fresh coat of paint. We were surprised at the new ownership, but John and Z are terrific. They were great hosts who were interested in our opinions about their renovations. We think they are on the right path keeping as much historic fabric and details as possible, but we really appreciated the handicap ramp! The cute cafe on the ground floor was very convenient for late sleepers like us, and yoga was free for guests. The best of both worlds! We highly recommend The Stockade Inn. Janice and Neil

It is a beautiful, historic building, although still a work in progress. The room was very clean and the staff available, friendly and helpful. The room only had a desk chair, but that was all I needed. The in-room air conditioner was loud, although it made for good ambient noise. The bed was firm. It was a great experience to be in such a special building and I would stay there again.

Wonderful inn in an historic building. Zakhar was very attentive via text for any of our needs and Mary Clare met us upon check in and was very nice showing us around and making sure we had anything we needed. The room was clean and comfortable and in a really nice area. The historic vibe was wonderful.

I liked how quaint and quiet the area is. The hotel room we were in was fairly newly-renovated. Very spacious. The hotel itself has a lovely character and is homey. Bed was comfortable and everything was clean and tidy. Zakhar was very courteous, helpful, and informative.

The staff was very nice; however, the property was not. The room was dusty - we could see dust on the top of the curtains in the bathroom and on the tv stand, there was no AC, which was fine, but they didn't provide a fan. They provided no water to drink. There was no handsoap in the bathroom. The curtain in the bathroom was very sheer.

As a first time guest it wasn't clear how to check in. The front door was locked and although I was given a code ot get in, it wasn't clear how to find my room or key. I had to ask another guest who just happened to be in one of the downstairs areas how to find registration, which was a lone man in a back office with the door closed. Our room did not have a number on it, so I wouldn't have been able to find it by myself. The room was nice and clean, although there was a bug (some kind of roach?) in the bathroom. There looked to be an interesting coffee shop downstairs, but it wasn't open before 8 or after 2, which is when I would have been able to get something. For a first time it wasn't great. I would go back again, although the price was high for the lack of service.

We had concert tickets at SPAC and this was a great location for us. Ten minute drive to cute downtown area. Zakhar was wonderful! Checked in late and he was very welcoming, made the process easy. He was very responsive when we had questions or needed something. Will definitely return.
We had concert tickets at SPAC and this was a great location for us. Ten minute drive to cute downtown area. Zakhar was wonderful! Checked in late and he was very welcoming, made the process easy. He was very responsive when we had questions or needed something. Will definitely return.

Wonderful inn in an historic building. Zakhar was very attentive via text for any of our needs and Mary Clare met us upon check in and was very nice showing us around and making sure we had anything we needed. The room was clean and comfortable and in a really nice area. The historic vibe was wonderful.

When we arrived the owner greeted us! With a quick history of the building. Zakhar had already texted us ahead of our arrival and greeted us at the reception desk. They were kind enough to let us check in to our room 5 hours early!! The hotel is absolutely lovely. They're still doing restorations and i can't wait to see when the works all done. Our room was spacious. Bath soaps and lotions smelled amazing. Towels and linens were great quality. You can tell they really care about details at the Stockade!! The town is really sweet. The hotel seemed very clean to me, but "cleanliness" can't really be rated, unless a room is obviously dirty. The very personable owner (manager?), Zakhar, isn't on-site, but he does a good job communicating by text. Once he knows your estimated arrival time he's there to greet you, etc.

This was a spectacular stay, through and through. Every interaction and experience pleasant. From top to bottom. The best in the biz, so accommodating and helpful and kind. Fell in love with Schenectady as a result. You have to have the coffee at Graham's Coffee Parlor in the main level. Also, be mindful of the work it takes to maintain such a place, and then revel in their vision and the comfort abound. Will be back. Grateful for everything. History lives here.

The owners and staff are some of most friendly people I have ever met, I would return for the hospitality alone. This inn has a lot of historic charm and is in the process of being renovated to provide some more modern touches while still staying authentic to the feel of the building. My room was very comfortable and I was a 4 minute walk away from the concert I was attending at Frog Alley Brewing Co. The staff checked in via text the morning of my arrival to see when I was expected to arrive and the following morning to see if I needed anything and recommend I check out the coffee bar. In the morning, I went down and grabbed a iced blueberry honey cake latte and a lemon oat bar for breakfast from Graham's Coffee Parlor. The coffee parlor looked fabulous and the staff was kind. The coffee & baked goods were delicious! If I had more time, I had planned on checking out the yoga studio and potentially even getting a massage but I needed to hit the road. Can't wait to return and see the continued improvements.

As a first time guest it wasn't clear how to check in. The front door was locked and although I was given a code ot get in, it wasn't clear how to find my room or key. I had to ask another guest who just happened to be in one of the downstairs areas how to find registration, which was a lone man in a back office with the door closed. Our room did not have a number on it, so I wouldn't have been able to find it by myself. The room was nice and clean, although there was a bug (some kind of roach?) in the bathroom. Loved the neighborhood’s old architecture, including The Stockade itself. The coffee shop, Solana, inside the hotel, was wonderful, really great coffee. John and Zakhar were very welcoming and helpful. We will definitely stay here again.
