Treehouse at Fernstone - Whimsical Woodland Retreat

The little treehouse is a sweet stay for a couple. We stayed one night while we visited Ohiopyle for hiking and biking. The hot tub was a wonderful way to end the evening.

The property was absolutely lovely! Beautiful place, excellent location, and easy process to book and enter the place. This all lasted 15 minutes until I severely sprained my ankle walking down the stairs to check out the hot tub. You see, at the bottom of the long staircase down, it ends in two stones you must step on without guardrails. The stone isn't flat and divots inward. Stepping on the stone, my ankle immediately gave way, and so did the rest of the weekend. If you book this treehouse, watch the stairs.

Romantic tree house in the woods. The treehouse and hot tub were ready to go when we arrived in during a snowy winter evening. Would recommend and stay again.

Overall the property and the idea of being in a tree house was neat, especially while it was snowing it was magically,however it was my spouses birthday wanted to enjoy our weekend away, they weren't calling for a lot of snow, so we keept our reservation. When we got there, nothing was plowed, we couldn't find out entrance nor was anything shoveled, or kept up with. when entering the place it was adorable inside, warm, and very cute. We went to get in the hot tube and the water was very low and smelly not enough chlorine, smelled like mildew. There was no salt or groundskeeper to help with this to keep us from slipping up the stairs to and farm the hot tube, there was an outside firepit would have been neat to use when the snow stopped but nothing was cleared off. Not to be picky but being in a mini vacation you really don't want to have to keep up with these kind of chores like you do at home. There were DVDs but DVD player that we saw make sure you have Netflex and good wifi to connect, and if you love a very soft bed then that bed is for you, there is a VERY soft spot in the middle that sinksakes laying in it so uncomfortable we ended up sleeping side ways on the bed no joke, then to top it off around Midnight the pipes froze leaving us not able to shower, use the bathroom or brush our teeth we called the number around 7am and around 845-9am noone still was there so we decided to leave we went to the gas station to brush out teeth and to use the restroom. We won't be back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the treehouse. The property was as advertised. It was lovely. The hottub was ready for us when we arrived and made for a relaxing trip. We enjoyed dinner at the Braddock Inn nearby. The checkerboard was a nice touch and we enjoyed playing a few rounds. We were even able to walk the grounds a bit and enjoy the unseasonable nice weather. The only thing that I could suggest is to provide more places to hang items and a shelf in the shower for toilettries. Thank you for a wonderful trip. We plan to come back.

My husband and I had a wonderful time! First time going this route (not a hotel) and what a great experience! Check in was easy, room stocked with what we needed. Very cozy. One evening while in the hot tub, we had a deer come down and we could see it through the trees munching away! That was right up my husband’s alley !We did have an issue with trying to get sound on the TV the last night we stayed. Never got it to come on, lol. We recommend this property and hope to get back

There were bugs in the bed and human hair on the blankets… the pictures were better than the actual place lightbulbs missing outside certain things on the property were in shambles we will not return or refer anyone to use this place dishes in drawers were dirty already garbage in cans spider webs inside it didn’t appear to be cleaned before we got there

My husband and I treated ourselves to a night away for our 11 year anniversary, and the treehouse was the perfect night away. We were pleased with how clean and cozy the treehouse was. We shared our experience with our fb friends and highly recommend it! We will be back again. Thank you!

Called number that was listed because we were having a hard time finding the place and the person who answered said he have someone call us back but no one ever did but we eventually found it on our own. Then when we arrived at our place a couple was getting ready to use the hot tub but left right away saying they were in the wrong place???But we did enjoy our stay and it was very clean

The property was clean and well equipped! Nicely secluded but easy to access.The only complaint we have out of the whole experience was the plumbing system having almost no water pressure on the morning of our checkout.

My husband and I had a wonderful weekend away at Fernstone Treehouse! This treehouse is cute and cozy; small but perfect for two people. It was very clean and and communication with property manager was very easy. It was just rustic enough, but also had everything we needed. We would definitely stay again and recommend it to others!

A beautiful serene setting. One of the most peaceful places we have stayed

We stayed while it was snowing and you would definitely need four-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive to get back to the place. We booked the treehouse, but the pipes froze and they had to move us over to the hobbit house.. definitely looks great and the heat worked. The Jacuzzi was nice.. It’s a little odd that there’s really not a door lock and the Internet is pretty much nonexistent.. but overall it’s definitely a cool place to try out

Loved the treehouse & although it was small, just my husband & I enjoyed the seclusion & hot tub. Only comments would be it was warm in the house so sleeping was a bit uncomfortable & the kitchenette was pretty sparce with accommodations. Otherwise we thoroughly enjoyed our stay & would book it again

My husband and I had a wonderful weekend away at Fernstone Treehouse! This treehouse is cute and cozy; small but perfect for two people. It was very clean and and communication with property manager was very easy. It was just rustic enough, but also had everything we needed. We would definitely stay again and recommend it to others!

Overall, a great place to stay to get away from the city. Within 20 minutes of hiking, kayaking, and dining, but tucked away enough to not be bothered. It's part of a larger retreat property, so if this place is booked, it's worth checking their other lodging options. Some minor things that could be improved, but it didn't make the stay unenjoyable. The sliding door was a little tricky when opening - didn't always slide super easy. It is a little smaller than we were expecting, but it is a tree house, so we weren't upset with the size and didn't expect much bigger. Thanks for a wonderful weekend, tree house!

Pipes were frozen the first morning we stayed there. It happens and wasn’t anyone’s fault. We called customer service and they sent the maintenance guy over. He said the pipes were definitely frozen and his solution was to take the tiny space heater that was in the room and put it in front of the pipe, then said “it’ll take a while to unfreeze.” Meanwhile there was not water and the toilets couldn’t be flushed. We called customer service again and asked to be moved to a different property, they said they would see what’s open and would call me back in 10 minutes. After an hour of waiting I called back and they did move us to a nearby cabin.

The property is even better than in the photos! We had the entire grounds to ourselves, so we did a little exploring, which is how we found the small creek. Check in was easy, and everything was ready for us when we got there.

Wonderful getaway in a cute cabin! Near enough (short drive) to local restaurants and coffee shop, but secluded and private.

Wonderful property very private and me and my partner felt free to do whatever we wanted to do. We had a very romantic and enjoyable weekend. If there is a negative note, we were not impressed with the food at the Stonehouse.
