This resort looked good when booking online. The pictures were definitely taken to make it look better than it was. The lobby and room were clean. The common areas were on the dirty side and the smell was not very pleasant. Outside they had replaced boards on the boardwalk to the beach. This is always appreciated except they left the old rotten boards right next to the boardwalk and it made it dangerous. The pools and hot tub were not functional and were disgusting to look at. The two neighboring resorts has nice clean pools. There was a gathering very late into the night and it made it unbearable to stay in the room or try to sleep. The staff was very polite and responsive and eventually got the noise to stop. I come to Myrtle multiple times a year. This was by far the worst place I have stayed at. Rather than being well rested on my trip, I was more tired that when I started. There are two wicked bright lights for the exterior rear. They are positioned right above two of the top floor bedrooms, and one was in my room. The curtains have gaps and let it more light than the sun. I had to go to the store and get make shift ties to keep the curtains together to not let in the light above the room. I can say without a doubt, I will not be staying here again and I will not recommend Willow Bay to anyone traveling to Myrtle.

Two bedrooms and living room with kitchen and two bath unit was very clean and the staff were amazing! We will be staying here again. Pool, kids pool and jacuzzi were well taken care of. Ping pong, corn hole and outdoor connect 4. Great location with easy access to the beach.

Property was suitable and the room was nice. Some upgrades could be done as far as electrical issues and it would be beneficial to have a small table on the balcony of each room to place items on such as cell phones, drinks, food, etc. The HOT TUB which was small, needed cleaning out. It appeared to have sand or dirt in it.

This was honestly the worst hotel I’ve stayed at. There is never anyone at the front desk. You have to call to get in touch with someone, and even then they don’t answer. Every pool and hot tub was closed, and nobody made us aware of that prior. All of the surrounding hotels had their pools open. I never saw anyone cleaning. There was trash piled in the hallway. There was no extra trash bags. The air conditioning DID NOT cool the room. We had to go to Walmart to buy a fan to even be semi comfortable. This is the furthest from a “resort”.

Pleasant staff and convenient location. The pools always looked a bit hazy despite staff attending to them each morning. I rarely saw people in any of them (in contrast to the heavily used and clean looking pools of the neighboring resorts). Did not live up to the expectations created by the pictures.

We had a nice week at the Beach with our family. Property is quiet and plenty of parking even when we came back from Charleston after midnight one night. Our A/C quit working and within minuyes the front desk had a guy come up and switch out the thermostat. Pool was smaller than the picture made it look. However the back lawn had ping pong, large connect 4 sets and corn hole for people to play. Snack bar was closed during our stay but the property juat south had great fries, drinks and ice cream.

Very family friendly. The coutyard beside the is adorable with lots of cozy setting areas to relax and let the kids play. The walkout to the beach is right there with a private entrance. The rooms are cozy and the staff is unbelievable!! Would recommend to friends and family !! They take great care of you. You feel like family.

Unfortunately, there is only one elevator in the building so it runs slow. The elevator did go out during our stay. Having traveled with my grandmother who has limited mobility, climbing 8 flights of stairs at one point took us about 45 min and put a lot of strain on her body. Also, having small children who’s legs aren’t as strong… our toddler had to be carried which ultimately created an inconvenience for my family. It’s always a bit of a gamble when traveling with disabilities or individuals with limited mobility. The hotel responded quickly with informing us maintenance was in route but didn’t give specifics about estimated time of the elevator being fixed. After waiting over an hour in the lobby, we were forced to climb stairs and carry up walking devices separately. This issue probably won’t apply to lost but those who may need the elevator, use caution. We stayed for a quick family trip. We enjoyed the hotel and amenities. The rooms were comfortable and clean. We had two bathrooms in our room and both were nice. The full kitchen was a great added amenity and ultimately was the deciding factor for our choice in staying. Everything worked and unlike most rooms, this hotel had ovens. We were able to save a little money by cooking in our room. Overall, the room was great. There were some obvious updates to the room but also some things that could use more attention. (Normal wear and tear that needed a more polished finish vs patch work) and a working elevator.

This property is undergoing renovations and is a little dated but none of which kept us from having a great stay. Regarding previous reviews, yes the windows are a little cloudy but it’s an oceanfront hotel with salt/sand spray from the ocean, so realistically there is no way to keep the windows spotless, and did not affect us from enjoying the amazing views. Yes, the property has older characteristics, but again they are in the midst of remodeling and this did not keep us from enjoying our stay. The views, beach access and property grounds are the best we’ve had at Myrtle Beach. The property grounds are beautiful, and offer multiple relaxing seating/gathering areas, as well as corn hole, ping pong, and outdoor connect four. The management team is personable, friendly, and treated us like family. We will definitely stay here again.

This property view was awesome. But the property itself was worst. It was having roaches spiders. We booked their best priced room still it was like that. No hair dryer in the room. No one in reception ever. Landry machines took money didn't work.

The property is very outdated, very clean but outdated. The pictures posted must be from when they first opened. They dont have bikes as they have listed in their amenities. The tint in the windows is peeling. The badeboards look as though they had water damage. The bunk bead was broken. And they have bugs. Unfortunately the only thing nice about this place is the staff. They were very nice and helpful. And the location and view.

Very dirty overall. Communal trash in hallway was not emptied from Thursday to Sunday, smelled. Showers had minimal water pressure and everything was in need on a good scrubbing.

We really enjoyed our 4 day stay at the Willow Bay. Front desk staff were amazing and treated you like family. Less tourist traffic than south myrtle which was ideal and quiet what we were looking for. Had a kitchenette so making meals was easy and quick to get back to the beach. Room decorations were lovely and up to date. Beach is right there and lots of outdoor spaces to sit at the hotel. Its an older hotel but very clean. We would stay again.

The pictures do not match the condition of the property. I also met many people in the hallway who felt the same. It is in very poor condition. Our room was not cleaned well and we swept a large amount of trash up 5 minutes walking in. We also purchased cleaning supplies to clean because it was so dirty. The lamp shades had holes, the utility closet dripped from upstairs and was moldy, the chairs were faded, the furniture was scratched. Our utility closet began to leak on the second day and we had to put out pots and pans to catch the water. For the quoted price, what we were given did not match the price. At all. The hallways were dirty and needed vacuuming and smelled like mildew. If this hotel plans to charge a large fee per night, the rooms need to match the price covered. Absolutely not. The only upside was Mary was very nice and we were right on the beach. Disappointed in my stay and I regret that I cannot recommend to others. Please be careful of this hotels high rating. I was fooled sadly. I truly wish I could upload the pictures I took from this stay to show the condition of this hotel.

The property is conveniently located with beach access, but it’s just dated. Luggage carts sit “conveniently” in front of piles of garbage. Low water pressure in the unit. We enjoyed our stay, but I wouldn’t rebook in the future.

Property is nothing like pictures posted. Very outdated. Mold noted on ceiling. Door’s kept getting stuck. Door handles very rusty. Our refrigerator had to changed out due to first one didn’t keep groceries cold. Our milk spoiled. Elevator and hallways very dirty. Luggage carts falling apart. Will not be back.

Our first stay at Willow Bay Resort.We travels from Florida.0ur first contact was a welcome call from the front desk. They gave us our room number and easy access code for the room. This made our checkin seamless and easy! We arrived in the room to find an incredibly clean and well appointed room. The bed was comfortable and clean and the bathroom was spotless. This room had an amazing view of the ocean. The view was beautiful, my wife stared out the window with amazement. The access to the beach was easy and close. We came for the beach and the access was close and easy. The staff and front desk were friendly and accommodating to all our needs. This property was amazing and not easy to forget! We plan to revisit soon. Overall this was an A resort!

They are positioned right above two of the top floor bedrooms, and one was in my room. The curtains have gaps and let it more light than the sun. I had to go to the store and get make shift ties to keep the curtains together to not let in the light above the room. I can say without a doubt, I will not be staying here again and I will not recommend Willow Bay to anyone traveling to Myrtle.

The common areas were on the dirty side and the smell was not very pleasant. Outside they had replaced boards on the boardwalk to the beach. This is always appreciated except they left the old rotten boards right next to the boardwalk and it made it dangerous. The pools and hot tub were not functional and were disgusting to look at. The two neighboring resorts has nice clean pools. There was a gathering very late into the night and it made it unbearable to stay in the room or try to sleep. This property is not perfect by any means, they had a good photographer, but we still had a comfortable time and enjoyed our stay. The updated areas of the units are nice, but much of the unit is still dated and a little shabby. However, the beds were comfortable and the linens were clean, the water pressure was good, the air conditioning and wifi worked well, and the views and access to the beach were super. The staff were all friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a place where you can walk out to the beach and enjoy your day and come back and clean up and do it again, it’s a comfortable place to do so. If you are looking for fancy, this isn’t it.

My family of 5 really enjoyed our stay. Willow Bay is was the perfect size. We are happier at a place without tons of people, loud music, and overcrowding. It was Relaxing and great for a family looking to not have to book 2 hotel rooms. We never had to fight for a chair at the pool. Overall it’s just a great place to relax and unwind. I would come back anytime. The front desk and cleaning crew were friendly and did their job well. Our room was clean, spacious, and the A/C worked great.

I sat on this review. I will start with the good. The location was great. Other than that that’s about the only good thing this hotel had to offer. It advertised a playground. There was none. We ended up going to the surrounding hotels for food and drinks. The room was lack luster. The twin beds were in a literal closet. The ladder didn’t work and ended up falling on my 2 year olds foot. Maintenance never showed up to fix the ladder. Check in was supposed to be at 4 p.m. we didn’t get to check in until 7 p.m. Oh and to top it off I was only offered a refund of $75-$100 if I lied and gave them a 5 star review. My conscious wouldn’t allow me to lie for some money. Therefore this is my real review. If you can deal with All of this then this would be perfect for you. As far as for me & my family, we won’t be staying here again. It’s clear the reviews are being paid for

Property had awesome views! It was conveniently located to restaurants,stores,etc. Room was updated and clean but still needed work on interior surfaces. There was no TV in main bedroom. Plug in sockets did not work in bathroom.

The property is conveniently located with beach access, but it’s just dated. Luggage carts sit “conveniently” in front of piles of garbage. Low water pressure in the unit. We enjoyed our stay, but I wouldn’t rebook in the future.

Our family had a great stay at Willow Bay! Staff were very friendly and our room was perfect for my husband and I and our two young kids. Our boys loved the bunk beds and easy walk to the beach. Check-in process was smooth and the woman at the front was very personable and welcoming. The location was great and parking was easy. We would definitely stay again!

From the moment we arrived we were amazed by this hotel. From the wonderful front desk manager who greeted us with such a warm welcome and made us feel right at home, to house keeping bringing what we requested immediately, the rooms very all newly remodeled and BEAUTIFUL! We were stunned when we walked in it was THAT NICE! The view of the ocean from the balcony and right from the back yard in the jucuzzi. There is nothing bad I could say about this place, the hotel responded to every single message and question we had, it was such a convenience of not having any hotel keys because they use codes to get in your room which I never experienced that was great! If I could give this hotel a million stars I would. I will be coming back very soon and am looking forward to it.

Our oceanfront room was beautiful and just right. It was also super clean, which was a pleasant surprise for a beach hotel that sees a lot of sand come through the door! Despite a frustrating check-in process (see below), we did love our stay and plan to stay here again next time we're in Myrtle Beach. The grounds are lovely. They have lots of games and activities in the grass area between the hotel and beach. And a beach bar next door. Two important things to remember: Checkin is 4 pm. And read your confirmation email carefully! When you get your confirmation email, make sure to reply back to it. Apparently that's how they know to send you your door code so you can bypass reception when you arrive. We did not see that on the confirmation email, so we didn't have a code and had to go to reception. We assumed check-in was 3 pm like basically every other hotel in the world, so that's when we arrived. But it's 4 pm. When we arrived, there was no one at the front desk and the door was locked. Two other families were there waiting to check in - one of them was who let us in the locked door. When the woman finally arrived (she was out picking up lunch - she's a one-woman show), it took quite a while to get everything in the system and get our room code, which then didn't work and we had to get a new one. Not her fault - she is a delightful, kind person who is responsible for doing (most) everything here, and it's a lot for one person!

This was honestly the worst hotel I’ve stayed at. There is never anyone at the front desk. You have to call to get in touch with someone, and even then they don’t answer. Every pool and hot tub was closed, and nobody made us aware of that prior. All of the surrounding hotels had their pools open. I never saw anyone cleaning. There was trash piled in the hallway. There was no extra trash bags. The air conditioning DID NOT cool the room. We had to go to Walmart to buy a fan to even be semi comfortable. This is the furthest from a “resort”.

We initially booked another resort and checked out immediately after checking in due to the disgusting state of the room and misleading accommodations. We felt the need to check for bedbugs and that was enough to tell us it was not worth the risk. Being an 11 hour drive from home we had no choice but to book another room elsewhere. From the moment we walked in, we were treated with so much kindness and consideration. The front desk representative Angie even took us up to the room to make sure we were happy given what had just happened. The room was clean, bright, and comfortable for our family. After a series of events that left our Myrtle Beach stay less than desirable and unforeseen costs mentioned above, we asked if we could leave early. We were refunded a portion of our money for the unplanned expenses we incurred, provided other dining suggestions, and even offered to allow us to stay the third evening on them. They did not have to do any of this but they did. Never have we ever been treated with so much compassion. They truly care for their costumers, down to providing organic shampoos and soaps in the rooms. The pool area is great, so many seating options outside, and outdoor showers to rinse off the sand. Very family friendly. Can’t recommend them enough. Above and beyond. I will definitely book with them again. Thank you Willow Bay. You made the difference. God bless.

This made our checkin seamless and easy! We arrived in the room to find an incredibly clean and well appointed room. The bed was comfortable and clean and the bathroom was spotless. This room had an amazing view of the ocean. The view was beautiful, my wife stared out the window with amazement. The access to the beach was easy and close. We came for the beach and the access was close and easy. The staff and front desk were friendly and accommodating to all our needs. This property was amazing and not easy to forget! My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful oceanfront property. The view from our 7th-floor balcony was amazing. Although the property is a bit older, it is safe, quiet, and peaceful. We will definitely be making another trip.

We wanted the beach at our doorsteps and thats what we got! It was a perfect location for us with 2 grandchildren in tow. There were a few minor inconveniences but staff wete able to make up for them. Property was also convenient to many of our needs.

Stayed for Mother’s Day with 2 small children. Ocean front balcony and beautiful views. Beach front property (literally a few steps to the sand). I don’t believe the pool was heated and it was shaded so a little on the chilly end. Kids pool was in the sun and was a great temperature; the kids enjoyed splashing around. Ray said he was the manager and was an absolute delight to work with. He went above and beyond his responsibilities. They had cornhole and large connect four set up in the courtyard. They had plenty of beautiful seating and landscaped areas. The room had a small kitchen area, small dining area and living room as well as a master bedroom and small bunk bed area for the kids to sleep. Room was extremely clean and accommodating for our family size. I will definitely be staying every year for Mother’s Day.

Absolutely great location with great ocean views and super easy beach access. Staff is friendly, helpful and responsive. Location is walkable (1/2 mile or less) to restaurants and stores. The bedding could stand to be replaced/updated and adding a fan of some kind to the bedroom would be a nice improvement.

We enjoyed our stay at Willow bay . The property was situated right on the beach . Fantastic view from the 7 th floor of the ocean . Great location. And easy parking . I really enjoyed my stay here. It is centrally located making it easy to get anywhere quickly. This hotel is clean and quiet. I felt safe in my surroundings and Ray is the absolute best! Parking was amazing. I will definitely stay here every time I visit Myrtle (which is quite often) :)

We really enjoyed our 4 day stay at the Willow Bay. Front desk staff were amazing and treated you like family. Less tourist traffic than south myrtle which was ideal and quiet what we were looking for. Had a kitchenette so making meals was easy and quick to get back to the beach. Room decorations were lovely and up to date. Beach is right there and lots of outdoor spaces to sit at the hotel. Its an older hotel but very clean. We would stay again.
We really enjoyed our 4 day stay at the Willow Bay. Front desk staff were amazing and treated you like family. Less tourist traffic than south myrtle which was ideal and quiet what we were looking for. Had a kitchenette so making meals was easy and quick to get back to the beach. Room decorations were lovely and up to date. Beach is right there and lots of outdoor spaces to sit at the hotel. Its an older hotel but very clean. We would stay again.

We wanted the beach at our doorsteps and thats what we got! It was a perfect location for us with 2 grandchildren in tow. There were a few minor inconveniences but staff wete able to make up for them. Property was also convenient to many of our needs.

Our oceanfront room was beautiful and just right. It was also super clean, which was a pleasant surprise for a beach hotel that sees a lot of sand come through the door! Despite a frustrating check-in process (see below), we did love our stay and plan to stay here again next time we're in Myrtle Beach. The grounds are lovely. They have lots of games and activities in the grass area between the hotel and beach. And a beach bar next door. Two important things to remember: Checkin is 4 pm. And read your confirmation email carefully! When you get your confirmation email, make sure to reply back to it. Apparently that's how they know to send you your door code so you can bypass reception when you arrive. We did not see that on the confirmation email, so we didn't have a code and had to go to reception. We assumed check-in was 3 pm like basically every other hotel in the world, so that's when we arrived. But it's 4 pm. When we arrived, there was no one at the front desk and the door was locked. Two other families were there waiting to check in - one of them was who let us in the locked door. When the woman finally arrived (she was out picking up lunch - she's a one-woman show), it took quite a while to get everything in the system and get our room code, which then didn't work and we had to get a new one. Not her fault - she is a delightful, kind person who is responsible for doing (most) everything here, and it's a lot for one person!

The people were so nice. So helpful. Older property but quaint and charming. Not as busy as surrounding hotels. Lots of ongoing improvements to the rooms. Internet pretty strong. Little pizza grocery right outside the front entrance. Parking so easy.

We very much enjoyed our stay- the newly renovated condo was as we expected and the ocean view was fantastic, especially at this price point. The garden was beautiful and fun place to play (the kids really enjoyed the yard games), and was always clean and well cared for. The staff was very nice and attentive, they handled each request I had very kindly and efficiently. As other reviews mentioned, there is no television in the bedroom- only one in the main area- though there was a strip on the wall in the bedroom that looked like one had been/ was being planned to be hung. There was no public ice machine, nor a fitness room (I was told by staff they had one prior to renovations but had no plans to have one into the future), and there was not a bar/restaurant opened during our stay, though we could see the darkened area that had (will have?) one. That being said, the beach bar immediately next door (St Clements) was FANTASTIC- very good food and drinks, and who really wants to work out on vacation anyway ;) Overall we feel this property was a great value and would stay again!

We had a nice week at the Beach with our family. Property is quiet and plenty of parking even when we came back from Charleston after midnight one night. Our A/C quit working and within minuyes the front desk had a guy come up and switch out the thermostat. Pool was smaller than the picture made it look. However the back lawn had ping pong, large connect 4 sets and corn hole for people to play. Snack bar was closed during our stay but the property juat south had great fries, drinks and ice cream.

Willow Bay Resort was wonderful! Great location, so many great restaurants and things to do nearby! Really enjoyed the staff of Willow Bay, Nika and Ray were so friendly and helpful throughout our stay, thank you for making our stay so pleasant! Loved the oceanfront view too!

The woman at the front desk was very friendly and had our parking pass in our room “incase she missed up checking in”. Thoughtful. Spacious room however the bedroom window was to the corridor that was brightly lit. We had blinds but really could use some blackout curtains. I kept waking up thinking it was mid afternoon by the amount of light coming through the blinds. Smaller hotel but lots of parking. Really incredible outdoor area!!! Lots of comfy seating, tables, games, and two showers to rinse sand off. Our outdoor area was 100x better than the larger hotels on either side. Thoughtful little snacks in the TV room for guests. The flamingo grill (just a short walk away and the breakfast spot next to it were delightful. We very much enjoyed our stay.

Loved the stay here. We will back. Plenty bro do on the property, lots of games and chairs. Great location, far enough from Myrtle but close enough to other things. Burger place and pizza place with great food walking distance.

First of all the place was NOTHING like we expected! The bedroom showed looking out to the beach and it was not. The light in the bathroom did not work. The tv's in bedroom and living room did not work. There was a dirty towel under the couch. The couch was very dirty. The patio chairs were terrible and even had holes in them. We had no wash clothes. The towels were the beach towels. The ac did not work good at all. It was very hot! We told them about everything and nothing got fixed the whole weekend. The floors were very dirty. The hottub was disgusting!! We were very disappointed all around.

Waited 20 mins for someone to check me in, the towels were dirty, pull couch had no sheets in where in the room, plugs didn’t work, lights in the living room didn’t work, no wash rugs, there was hair in the tub! To be beach front property I expected a cleaner and better place.

Thank you for reaching out. We are not happy about our room. The room is disgusting. We actually wanted to leave after we checked the room and try to get a refund. I will list the items that are unsatisfactory below: 1. The floors are dirty 2. The refrigerator is disgusting 3. The living room chairs are dirty and looks as though someone decided to just throw dirt and/or blood on the cushions 4. The windows are filthy 5. The sheets are dirty and looks as if they haven't been cleaned in years 6. The shower doesn't work properly 7. The 2nd room looks like a closet. 8. No TVs in the rooms 9. The room doesn't look like the picture on the website at all 10. The hot tub is not even avaliable 11. The bench outside the hotel is broken 12. The elevator hasn't been cleaned in years. I could go on and on, but I will stop there.
