Super 8 by Wyndham North Bergen NJ/NYC Area

Great budget hotel is you are planning to visit NYC on a budget and not necessarily planning to spend time indoor. Very convenient shuttle bus to Port Authority. Staff is always available to help amd are very pleasant. This is our second time staying at this hotel and will be staying again during next visit. The rooms in the adjacent building are nice but going up those stairs could be challenging and a bit dangerous. Parking is great and complimentary. IMO, this is one of the best hotels if you are visiting NYC. Average neighborhood common sense precautions of course in the area.

Conveint shuttle into & out of nyc, fresh coffee at 6am, & clean renovated room. Just didnt like hauling luggage to a 2nd building & 3 flights of stairs.

Good parking

Easy and fast to get to the Meadowlands Exposition Centre with easy parking even for my big truck. Room was nice and roomy, beds were comfortable, traffic was a bit noisy for someone that lives in a small town that isn't used to it! The shuttle to Manhattan that picks up right in front of the hotel is very convenient and the staff gave us lots of information to make sure we made it back to the hotel! Breakfast was very disappointing, a granola bar and a coffee, does not count as "breakfast included' in my opinion but I would definitely stay here again.

Clean, lit up well outside, easy shuttle into NYC, perfect if you’re not expecting a fancy place to sleep. Not much else in the area. 24 IHOP up the hill and a Starbucks. Ideal for those wanting to be in Manhattan but can’t afford to stay in the city. $3 -35 min shuttle ride to Times Square every 15 minutes

Check in too slow & unsat. In 2nd building, which had NO elevator. Too many and very steep steps. Refrierator not working and Toilet flushing hard to stop. Hotel in bad traffic location and not enough parking. Disabled Naval Veteran.

Beds were comfortable. Room was very clean and smelled amazing. Sink in bathroom. Shower was great large bottles of body wash, shampoo and conditioner. Hotel was very hard to find you have to go down what looks like a small narrow non car bearing road. Parking was very rough with a HUGE rock wall behind you and tight spaces. The front desk was not friendly and they charge a $100 deposit per stay. If you use card for that it takes 3-5 businesss days to get it back. Hotel is right on bus route for NYC. It is tight off expressway and 30 minute drive with WORST case scenario traffic to NYC. Breakfast was bagels and coffee. Breakfast was 600-900 and wegot there at 730 and coffee was empty. There was a loud family standing outside the door because of the bus stop at 500-630am that woke us up. Expressway outside is loud.

Super noisy, parking lot is horribly too tight don’t go there with a big vehicle because there is barely any room to get out of your spot.

Hotel parking sucked very tight, entrance to hotel was at 3 fast lanes 2 slow lanes exit and entrance to the highway all in the same spot passed it first time not marked very good.

Property is very run down and my door appeared to have been kicked in at some point because it did not secure easily. Room could use updating and the only window was above eye level. The area around motel was pretty rundown and dirty. Transportation was easy with the bus stopping outside the doors but the bus doesn’t go back to there so you have to walk half a mile to get back in a sketchy area.

Urine on toilet seat…. What appeared to be blood on wall beside vanity…tv didn’t work until guy came with another .remote, tried to hide the fact that he switched it with the original… looked at us like we were 5 years old and left. Very ignorant. I don’t expect perfection for the price… but never again super8!!

The stay was fine. The room was kept clean on a daily basis.

The motel employees and owners were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable. I would definitely recommend this motel.

Floor filthy,found a bug in my bed and there was nowhere else to move us to. Not enough food for the breakfast buffet!!

I should’ve read the details more carefully, but here we are. “Free breakfast” meant toast and… beverages? Unclear. I left before thoroughly investigating. The room greeted us with a strange, lingering smell—hard to place, but memorable in all the wrong ways. Bathroom looked clean, but the odor made us rethink being in there too long. One curtain had dried food. The other? Dried blood. Yes, really. Ants were busy living their best lives to be bothered by us. I could go on, but I’ll keep it short—this stay was enough of a story already.

There was a strong odor of urine in the room. I dont know where this was coming from. It kept us from sleeping.

The women who checked us in was friendly and helpful, as were the rest of the staff. We parked right out side our room. Our room was very clean. I’d stay here again.

Pretty good and the bathrooms and rooms were all clean.

Staff not friendly. Several guests upset. No wifi in room even though room beside reception desk. Told they would come room to check never came. Floors dirty, my feet dirty after shower. 3 large roaches found on bathroom sink. The "breakfast" was plain bagels with cream cheese with juice or coffee. Located close to major roadway, noisy. Shuttle service pick up at hotel but drop off across highway and had to walk through unsafe area back several blocks at night.

It was convenient to get into New York. Mattress needs replacing, they were a little saggy.

This place is not at all as described or pictured. Super janky, even for a Super 8. The room was very tight (double queen), and in need of a lot of updating to justify the price we paid. The "breakfast" is prepacked bagels. The coffee isn't bad but you won't get a coffee maker in your room. The ice machine in the second building (not handicap accessible, no elevator, doors unlocked when we arrived) didn't work, one of the two vending machines ate money. The ice machine outside of the main building was kept from freezing with a space heater. The rooms on the first floor of the main building have doors that don't close against the floor or door jamb. Our room had loose outlets, terrible wall patches, peeling wall paper, not enough lights, and I had to replace a shim under the bathroom sink. Check the photos. Don't be fooled by theirs. Access to the community bus line was nice. 10-15 minutes to Times Square if the traffic in the tunnel is light. Stay at the Best Western around the corner for a better experience and a cheaper stay

Positive part is free parking, 15 min drive from Manhattan through the $20 tunnel with no traffic. Negatives. Very outdated, not everything was working well. Mattress was not comfortable and needs to be replaced, as it has dint after overuse. For this price I expected a little bit better condition.

Everything was good except for the wifi. It was good in the first day but since then internet connection was very slow. We were unable to do anything. Apart from that the room was clean and the room keeping was excellent. They cleaned the room every day and provided new towels each day. Overall the stay was nice!

The positive point is the proximity. There is a bus at the the hotel to take you in time square. And this is excellent. Otherwise, the hotel was noisy at night, people talking and cars..

Very easy access to NYC. Courteous and helpful staff. Very noisy rooms.

I had a reservation on Thursday evening and i had checked in. Once ny husband and I got to the room, we went to the bathroom and which seemed clean and then near the microwave we saw cockroaches. Obviously we were not going to stay there. We went to the front desk saying we will not be staying there. We asked about a refund and they said to call Gita Modi on friday morning and she will be able to help. Friday morning came and I called and i was told that they will be refunding me for 2 nights which was fine. However, they have to yet to provide this approval to hotels.com. i have been callong continuously and the staff is rude and very un cooperative. All i want is someone to contact me and say that the refund will be applied as promised. Will never ever recommend staying at this hotel.

Not even worth 1 star. Reasons below - Check in was horrible. The lady at the desk was downright rude. - Room was unkempt and dank - Very very limited breakfast options.

I stay at this Super 8 location at least every other week and I continue to get rude treatment on checkout you would think that they don’t realize that we pay to stay here. I call in the am of check-out to confirm late checkout and they “ grant “ shorter than requested every time. Then even with the extended checkout they rudely start pounding on the door yelling checkout!! I am writing to let other customers look for a better place to stay because these people quit rude and I am reporting to Wyndham corporate.

Even before coming here the front desk was rude over the phone when my husband called to ask a simple question; they hung up on him. Gave them the benefit of the doubt and they were STILL rude upon checked in. They complained we were tourists. The guy who helped us check in charged my card for nearly $500 more than he should have when deposit was only $100!!! Hoping we get the deposit back. Room was comfortable and breakfast was horrible!! It was a paper sack (which you had to ask for and they don’t tell you upon check in) with a prepackaged bagel, faux cream cheese, granola bar and a tangerine. Close to public transit.

We liked the closeness to Manhattan and the shuttle to Port Authority. Their customer service and communication skills were sorely lacking though. We had problems with the hot water in the shower, and it could have been an easy fix (the nozzles were opposite- hot was cold ) Instead of just telling us this in the beginning, it took 2 days for them to inform us. Then they were rude and very defensive when my wife talked to them in the office.

Overall the place was okay but we had a few issues. Upon arrival during check-in, our key card wouldn't open our door. They looked it up in the system, reset my key card etc... after 20 minutes in the cold (balcony side), trying to fix it, they told us that our room was already booked. That sucked but it felt wayyyy worse in the cold snap that we got. They finally gave us another room. In that second room, the hot water in the shower didn't work, the water was barely lukewarm. We asked them so many times, they said,that it was normal and it was on purpose so that people don't get burnt. But it was super cold outside and inside and the water was literally cold. The next day, i begged the receptionist to come inside and check the water. He was at the door but refused to enter and to even touch the water...another day passes without hot water. The last day, i asked again and i started being very mad.they finally sent the maintenance guy who told us that the knob was switched backwards in our room, all the way to the left was very cold instead of hot.so that was the problem. We wouldn't have known, especially since all the way to the right was lukewarm (barely) . Had they accepted to come and check, we wouldn't have had this problem. Staff was in general friendly but became rude and inefficient when it came to dealing with the problem.

Very comfortable accommodations and clean. Staff has always been great and professional. We stay here 3 times a year for work and sightseeing so we do recommend this location. The breakfast could use a pick me up beyond a coffee and prepackaged bagel. There is a Starbucks and Aldi market a blocks distance away so that’s a fix. If you are staying here and are visiting NYC there is a bus that stops directly at the door and cost $3.50 a person. Great stay.

Excellent staff, clean and convenient location - shuttle to new York is right in front of the hotel and it usually waits for hotel guests . We arrive pretty early as we had an early flight (arrived around 10:30am at the hotel) and we just planned to leave our luggage as we know it was too early. Staff Kish was very accommodating - he checked if the rooms were ready and when it was he checked us in early! He also gave us instruction about the shuttle to and from new York. There is also a grocery walking distance from this hotel. The A/C was leaking though on our third day. If you prefer Clean, quiet, accommodating and pleasant staff and accessibility to new York - this is your place.

When we arrived at the hotel, they said they didn’t have our reservation, that our credit card was declined. My other card was compromised in the summer but since I was paying at the hotel I wasn’t worried. They Charged me 750.00 instead of the $621 I signed up for. I know they were taking advantage of us as we needed 5 rooms. I will be contacting Expedia as no one contacted me for another credit card. I am very unhappy.

Very difficult driveway. Close to a very busy highway. Scary driving

If your looking for a budget friendly motel close to NYC this place ticks that box. The shuttle bus runs to 42nd street every 15 minutes (it’s only $4) motel can be a little difficult to find (even the cabs struggled to find it) it’s a budget motel however we found it to be quiet, clean and comfortable for the price. There is parking available onsite (it does fill quickly). Rooms have a fridge and microwave. Rooms are fairly large and overall it was a convenient spot if you didn’t want to stay in manhattan but wanted easy access to the city.

We found this hotel a reasonably priced option to visit NYC. There is a shuttle that picks you up right out front and it's about a 10-15 min ride into the city. When it brings you back it drops you off about a 5 min walk from hotel. Rooms were clean and staff was helpful. Breakfast was pretty minimal - coffee and bagels. There is a Starbucks and Aldi close by if you need anything. The hotel is beside a busy highway so traffic is loud if you're not used to it. Overall very happy with our stay here and would book here again.

Right along the tunnel so very quick to the city

Breakfast was only toast with jam, no other option and they were very pushy for us to leave at 11am. Also very noisy due to bad insulated rooms and location.

Everything was good except the Continental breakfast. All they had were bagels.

This was a great property for inexpensive way to rest your head and venture into New York! The picture of the breakfast is not accurate. There are just bagels and cream cheese and juice for kids and coffee. They have an express shuttle that goes from the hotel to Port Authority in New York. However, we found it better to take the bus just a few minutes walk from there. It was less expensive for our family. The staff was great!

Hotel was very convenient to get to NYC, they have a bus that picks up at the hotel and drops off in Times Square. Breakfast was sad, coffee, juice, granola bar, and toast. The hotel room was never swept, not even when we arrived or any other day during house keeping. No bags for the trash cans. Pillows were super flat.

The service was great, the workers are nice. The rooms were clean. The bus to the city is convenient. The toliet was super loud. The water pressure was great. They offer a free breakfast which is just toast and coffee. But there is a starbucks in walking distance as well as an aldis.

This is a fine motel, location is great being 5 min max from the Lincoln tunnel. This comes with the noise of traffic. The motel was good, clean and tidy. A little dated and some pieces could use a repair, but we enjoyed ourselves. Breakfast was coffee, bagels and juice, perfect for an easy start of the day. There is also a Starbucks and an Aldi 2 min walk from the motel. The provate bus service stops in front. Pay 3.50 pp and get dropped off at 42nd street, 2 blocks down from Times square. Very convenient! Parking was wonderful. All and all a good budget friendly option to visit NYC!

I have booked this property twice for NYC trips. I love that this property offers a convenient, affordable, shuttle service to Times Square! The property is also well kept, and our rooms were clean both times. The only issue we had with this property is that they advertise breakfast being included, but they only serve super small bagels and butter. They are extremely cheap with the breakfast they include, and they, literally, have nothing else. They don’t even have other condiments to go on the bagels. The “breakfast included” is very misleading.

This was OK for the price. The shuttle is very convenient for going into the city. $3.50 each way. They advertise a free breakfast, but it’s actually coffee and breakfast bars. Was a little disappointed with that. The shower water got a little bit better than warm. The sink water was piping hot. Staff seems nice enough. You get what you pay for. Free Parking convenient.
