🎶 Almost heaven, $%&* Virginia Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River Life is old there, older than the trees Younger than the mountains, growin\' like a breeze 🎶 We had a wonderful family trip to Bear Timbers cabin. Spent our days hanging out on the river, listening to Neil Young, Johnny Cash, John Denver, & watching the Summer Olympics in a clean & beautiful air conditioned cabin. Grilled up some steaks & burgers at night. Made smores around the campfire. Great trip all around!! My kids give it "one million stars". We had an absolute blast! Thank you for the hospitality & accommodations :)

My husband and I stayed at the cabin with an infant, 4 year-old, and 7-year old. It was perfect for our family. The kids loved playing in the hot tub and we could sit on the screened in porch to watch them. We also took our 7-year old out in the canoe one day and it was a perfect 30-minute outing puttering about on the river - just enough for an experience without a big commitment to an activity. We also enjoyed a roaring fire one night. Generally, the cabin feels quite spacious. We cooked dinner each evening using the well stocked kitchen and the grill worked well. It was also convenient to have a washing machine at our disposal since we were traveling with kids and out doing activities all day. The location was convenient to Luray Caverns and the northern and middle sections end of Shenandoah National Park. The Owners were very helpful. They checked in on us the day after we arrived and I told them the grass was long. They quickly made arrangements to have it cut the next day, which was quite generous and I really appreciated their responsiveness. It certainly made it more enjoyable to spend time outside.

This cabin doesn’t look like much from the picture but it is fabulously located and beautiful inside. Most importantly it was clean! The hot tub is glorious. The lake is a short easy walk (I was wearing a leg brace and had no trouble) and the view is quite beautiful. Bring some camping chairs and enjoy your morning coffee with a water view. The owners have everything you could want at your fingertips. I forgot my binoculars and guess what? There was one in the cabin. We cooked everyday and ate on the porch. The grill worked great. The kitchen has everything you need. Owners were responsive to messages.

Perfect 2 BDR 2BA for 4 adults. Well-equipped modern kitchen. Both screened and unscreened covered porches were delightful to enjoy the hundreds of birds (we counted 37 species!). Short walk to the river. Canoes available but we didn’t use them. We loved the hot tub, though! Nearby town of Luray has some surprisingly good restaurants. Loved the meandering path along the waterway through town. Nearby Luray Caverns is a gem. Lots of local wineries and distilleries. We had a wonderful week!

The place is fantastic! It is super clean and everything is nice, new, and works perfectly. The hot tub is very modern and a perfect place to relax after a day of hiking. Be sure to ask the owner for restaurant recommendations. They were all spot on. Hope to come back.

Where do I start? From the view of the river literally in the backyard, the homely atmosphere, or the pure hospitality we got from the ppl who owned the cabin. We used their amenities (LOOOOOOVED THE JACUZZI BATH) and lets just say, everything was fantastic. Everything up to date. Clean. Property was literally something out of a dream. The river in the backyard….undeniably gorgeous! We used the canoe and we fished. We went there to enjoy nature and that’s what we got and more. We contacted them for where to go and they never once left us astray. They we delightful, pleasant and some of the nicest ppl I’ve ever dealt with and it was more than a pleasure staying there. Experienced Shenandoah River which is a drive but was worth every mile due to the scenery. No regrets! Will definitely rent again! Thank you again for your hospitality!!

House is as described - very clean and has everything you need for a getaway. Owners are super communicative and kind. Love the gas fireplace in the main room, screened in porch, and hot tub. Short, beautiful walk to the river, which is much bigger than I was expecting.

Property was true to the listing. The cabin was clean and well stocked. We only needed to bring clothing, toiletries, and food. We had so much fun taking the inner tubes on the river, using the hot tub, grilling, and going out to see the local sites. We will be back again!

The cabin was very clean & had everything we needed. Had a slight hiccup with check-in but the owner was immediately on top of it. Billy was very attentive and responded quickly. As stated in the description, the river is located down the driveway but wished it was closer. Overall, we had a great time. Went to Luray Cavern & stopped at some distilleries & vineyards. Cooter’s was hysterical.

The cabin was very clean, well furnished, and well stocked with supplies. The location is private, and the views from the river are very pretty. The town of Luray is a short drive away, so grabbing a bite to eat or a scoop of ice cream at local restaurants and shops is easy. The cabin also has a nice gas grill that was perfect for our steak night. We enjoyed our stay very much!

A very nice, clean and well equipped cabin. The owner was very responsive to all our questions. We travel often and if you’re looking for a Shenandoah Valley getaway, you can’t go wrong with this cabin ! Close to the National Park, a state park and quaint small towns with nice restaurants and shops.

The cabin is just perfect! The 4 of us enjoyed our time at Bears Timbers. The kitchen was fully stocked and plenty of towels for the bathrooms. Everything was clean and owners were very nice. We will come back again!

We had a fun stay here. The kitchen had so many supplies including a crockpot and spices. We played a few of the card games provided. We took the innertubes down to the river each day. The beds were comfortable which made for a restful vacation. We enjoyed the screened in porch with chairs to relax in and the gas grill on the deck. There were extra towels which was so helpful. You do need to haul out your own trash, but it isn't that far. The hotub was slimy and dirty. It desperately needed to be cleaned out. (We didn't notify the owner so we aren't marking down our overall rating). The walk to the river was further than we expected. Probably between 1/4 and 1/3 of a mile. The one issue we had was quickly resolved. Overall it was a very nice place.

The cabin was very clean, very well maintained and was very nice. Had all the comforts of home. Kitchen is fully stocked all you need is food and your drinks. The master bed was very comfortable. My only criticism is that the property isn't as secluded as I was hoping. There are neighbors very close by. The hot tub is somewhat open. There are trees that line the property but there are gaps. The lattice around the hot tub has wide holes so just didn't feel very private from neighbors. Other than that it was wonderful. The walk to the river was very nice and it was a beautiful view.

Nice little cabin with perfect open living to encourage spending time with one another! Beautiful Christmas tree set up for our stay. The fireplace is the easiest one I have ever used at a rental and provided amazing warmth.

Very relaxed evenings after chaotic days at the Solheim Cup with massive crowds. Very nicely done cabin and very quiet. We really enjoyed it.

Amazing time at the river. Also, it was NFL Sunday and we were able to use various streaming services to watch our games. Wonderful hosts, great location. We will be back!!

The cabin is beautiful inside. The back porch and deck are lovely. The access to the river was the only issue for me. The river is many yards from the cabin, but, that is ok. My problem was that actually getting in the river at the site with a canoe or kayak and getting back out, are difficult. The bank drops down a bit with no smooth, available way to get in other than to drop the canoe or kayak in and then jump in after it, hoping it won't get taken by the current in the interim. Getting back out requires lifting the canoe or kayak back onto the bank while in the river and then climbing up out after it. If the access could be graded somehow with rocks used to make a little launch site, that would be great. Then, I would want to come back. Thanks!

My family of four had a wonderful stay at this cabin. It was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the hot tub. Loved the gas fireplace. Sadly it rained for most of our weekend stay so we didn’t get to use the canoes on the river like we had hoped, but we did walk down to the river and it was very beautiful. My kids loved that we saw so many deer near the house and in neighborhood. Location is great, just a short drive to Luray. We would definitely stay again.

The owners clearly want their customers to be comfortable and happy. This isn't an old shack with builder grade materials inside. Quality fixtures, appliances, and amenities are throughout the warm and cozy home. Great hot tub, screened porch, and a short walk to the river make it even better. Will definitely try to stay there again in the future.

This was a great cabin home in a great area of VA. The home was the perfect size for a small family with all of the amenities you would want. The host was very responsive and accommodating during our stay. Luray is a short 15-20 minutes away with lots of great activites and things to see. Couldnt ask for more.

House is as described - very clean and has everything you need for a getaway. Owners are super communicative and kind. Love the gas fireplace in the main room, screened in porch, and hot tub. Short, beautiful walk to the river, which is much bigger than I was expecting.

My husband and I stayed at the cabin with an infant, 4 year-old, and 7-year old. It was perfect for our family. The kids loved playing in the hot tub and we could sit on the screened in porch to watch them. We also took our 7-year old out in the canoe one day and it was a perfect 30-minute outing puttering about on the river - just enough for an experience without a big commitment to an activity. We also enjoyed a roaring fire one night. Generally, the cabin feels quite spacious. We cooked dinner each evening using the well stocked kitchen and the grill worked well. It was also convenient to have a washing machine at our disposal since we were traveling with kids and out doing activities all day. The location was convenient to Luray Caverns and the northern and middle sections end of Shenandoah National Park. The Owners were very helpful. They checked in on us the day after we arrived and I told them the grass was long. They quickly made arrangements to have it cut the next day, which was quite generous and I really appreciated their responsiveness. It certainly made it more enjoyable to spend time outside.

The cabin was very clean & had everything we needed. Had a slight hiccup with check-in but the owner was immediately on top of it. Billy was very attentive and responded quickly. As stated in the description, the river is located down the driveway but wished it was closer. Overall, we had a great time. Went to Luray Cavern & stopped at some distilleries & vineyards. Cooter’s was hysterical.

We stayed at the cabin while visiting Shenandoah National Park and Luray Caverns. Billy was an amazing host who proactively communicated with us throughout our stay. We were impressed with the cabin and its cleanliness. Simple things like the variety of board games, first aid kit, bidet, and prime video streaming made it real like a home away from home. I highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a place to stay in the mountains.

We travel often and if you’re looking for a Shenandoah Valley getaway, you can’t go wrong with this cabin ! The cabin itself was nice and we enjoyed the fireplace and the screened-in porch (our senior pup was a big fan of the porch as well). The hot tub was relaxing under the stars. The location was very convenient with just a short drive into Luray and to Shenandoah.

We had such an amazing weekend celebrating my wife’s birthday. We got to enjoy a great time by the river soaking in the views and nature. We will def come back in the fall. We enjoyed all options around us as well. The host are super helpful and respond quickly. Would definitely recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay! The house were amazing. Communicated right up front and stayed in contact. Checking in was simple and uncomplicated, everything we needed was there. Met all of our expectations and then some! Beautiful place and would absolutely stay there again.

The property was clean and so well stocked - the kitchen has spices and was even stocked with a hand mixer. The owners live nearby and we're available as a resource for ideas. They were also super responsive to any questions we had.It's a must stay!The road in was a little dusty, and the river had quite a bit of gnats. Bring big spray and a good hat!Otherwise, gorgeous property!

My family of four had a wonderful stay at this cabin. It was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the hot tub. Loved the gas fireplace. Sadly it rained for most of our weekend stay so we didn’t get to use the canoes on the river like we had hoped, but we did walk down to the river and it was very beautiful. My kids loved that we saw so many deer near the house and in neighborhood. Location is great, just a short drive to Luray. We would definitely stay again.

Great location for accessing the Park. Lovely walk down to the river. Cabin is well equipped with kitchen supplies for cooking and eating in. The bed in the primary is comfortable. Didn’t use the hot tub or the jacuzzi bath. Appreciated the bidet attachment in the primary bath.

getting there you drive down a gravel road not a problem but you will need a very good car wash when you leave the place itself is nice only thing that bothered me was the front yard firepit with yappy dogs accross the street firepit should be outback pictures make the house look seclueded its not and that threw us off at first but over a week span we had no issues or ever seen anyone and all in all had a great time owner/manager of house is very easy to deal with as well that said yes would for sure come back

This house lives up to its billing. While it isn’t isolated within its own community, it is far enough off the beaten path you’ll feel like you’ve gotten away, but not so far that you can’t easily get whatever you need after a short drive. Having river access is awesome; all we had to do was drive up to our drop in poly and kayak the ten river miles back to the house. The next day, we drove the car to our take out point and did another ten miles by dropping in right there. The hosts are on top of anything you might need. The river is a little bit of a trek but all that did for us was make us feel more attuned to the outdoors! Our dog loved being able to walk and sniff to her hearts content on the property and also enjoyed stretching her legs at the massive local dog park in Front Royal. We will absolutely be back again.

Very clean home and all the things you need that you don't want to bring was available and in good working order. Some Pluses to this home is the hot-tub and the river in the back of the property. Only downside was that the river was a good 5 min walk in somewhat high grass and the neighborhood dogs barking all the time. We had a great time and the owners were very nice and accommodating!

🎶 Almost heaven, $%&* Virginia Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah River Life is old there, older than the trees Younger than the mountains, growin\' like a breeze 🎶 We had a wonderful family trip to Bear Timbers cabin. Spent our days hanging out on the river, listening to Neil Young, Johnny Cash, John Denver, & watching the Summer Olympics in a clean & beautiful air conditioned cabin. Grilled up some steaks & burgers at night. Made smores around the campfire. Great trip all around!! My kids give it "one million stars". We had an absolute blast! Thank you for the hospitality & accommodations :)

The cabin was very clean, well furnished, and well stocked with supplies. The location is private, and the views from the river are very pretty. The town of Luray is a short drive away, so grabbing a bite to eat or a scoop of ice cream at local restaurants and shops is easy. The cabin also has a nice gas grill that was perfect for our steak night. We enjoyed our stay very much!

Perfect 2 BDR 2BA for 4 adults. Well-equipped modern kitchen. Both screened and unscreened covered porches were delightful to enjoy the hundreds of birds (we counted 37 species!). Short walk to the river. Canoes available but we didn’t use them. We loved the hot tub, though! Nearby town of Luray has some surprisingly good restaurants. Loved the meandering path along the waterway through town. Nearby Luray Caverns is a gem. Lots of local wineries and distilleries. We had a wonderful week!

The place is fantastic! It is super clean and everything is nice, new, and works perfectly. The hot tub is very modern and a perfect place to relax after a day of hiking. Be sure to ask the owner for restaurant recommendations. They were all spot on. Hope to come back.

Everything was exactly as advertised! We loved relaxing in the hot tub after a long day out! Took morning walks down to the river and enjoyed a nice fire at night! This was probably the most well-appointed cabin I have rented on VRBO. The house has everything you need. Seriously, just bring clothes and food...everything else on already there! The homeowner was responsive and very helpful, providing excellent advice for a day trip to Washington DC. We had a really nice week and enjoyed the area with this very clean and comfortable cabin as a home base!

The cabin was incredibly nice and relaxing. The hot tub was wonderful and the beds were very comfortable. We also enjoyed the DVD library in the evening. The walk to the river was peaceful and beautiful. I definitely recommend Bear Timbers for your stay.
